Recently moved into Veda apartments and I must say the transition from living outside the country to California was made very easy by Melanie, she went above and beyond to help me get situated here. Everything she said she was going to do to the apartment was excited to the letter, she even took time out her day to answer all my questions even tho I bothered her multiple time unannounced. DO NOT move here. I lived in this apartment for less than a month before I had to break my lease due to a completely disgusting and unacceptable roach infestation. I noticed signs of the problem by the second day, and despite multiple fumigations, the roaches never went away. I've rented for years in various cities and buildings all over LA and have never dealt with anything remotely like this. The fact that I had to move out so quickly after just moving in was beyond frustrating. I was in a top-floor, two-bedroom unit, and it was very clear the infestation wasn't just isolated to my apartment, it was a building-wide issue. I couldn't even eat in my own home, and I ended up having to throw away kitchen supplies, food, rugs, furniture, so many things I had just moved in with it was insane. The stress of having to immediately coordinate another move, deep clean everything I owned, and try not to bring the infestation with me was incredibly overwhelming. It was also a huge financial loss. I had to spend even more money right after moving into a new place, movers, replacement furniture, and eating out constantly since I couldn't safely use my own kitchen. Every time they fumigated (which still didn't solve the issue), I had to rearrange my work schedule and leave my apartment with my dog for 3-4 hours each time due to the fumes. It was disruptive and exhausting. The only reason I'm giving this place one star is because the office staff was at least responsive and cooperative throughout the process. But honestly, I never should've been handed keys to a unit in that condition. I wouldn't recommend this complex to ANYONE. I am beyond glad I left and so much happier and comfortable out of there. I've left some pictures when I could take them in time, but there were SO many focused in the dishwasher/kitchen island area. I've lived here since 2023, and it's been a frustrating experience. Management is incredibly rude and unresponsive--they don't return calls or reply to emails. Construction has been ongoing for what feels like forever, and most of the amenities are unusable. I've reported a cockroach issue multiple times, but they just mark the request as "completed" without ever showing up. I have been living in this apartment for over a year. The building has been under construction for all this time and has no lobby. You always have trouble getting guests or deliveries. They use cheap contractors and that's why nothing gets done here. They always leak water in the parking lot and your car gets dirty. Homeless people live on the roof. Your packages are not safe. The pool and party room are always closed. My apartment always leaks and my furniture is damaged. They show you beautiful pictures of the building being finished and they say it will be ready and finished soon. However, after a year and a half, the building looks the same and will never be finished. Don't be fooled by the pictures and website of this apartment. This has been a LONG TIME COMING. All the reviews about this place are completely TRUE. DO NOT MOVE HERE. We haven't had an accessible lobby or ANY amenities for over A YEAR!!! No gym, no clubhouse, no cinema, NO LOBBY. EVERY TIME YOU ASK WHEN IT'LL BE DONE, THEY SAY IN ABOUT A MONTH. NOPE. FLAT OUT LIE, MONTH AFTER MONTH. Packages and food deliveries are constantly lost given the lack of access to the lobby. And on top of that, all this remodeling to make it look "nice", but this place is dirty. One day there is dog pee for days in the elevator, TODAY there was FUR?! See photo. We will see how long it will be there. Besides for this, the staircase looks like a bird died, with all the feathers on the ground. They never upkeep or actually clean this building, despite saying they do or advertising they have cleaning services. Don't be fooled by the "amenities" or "fancy lobby", when, and if it'll ever be ready. It's all for show. We signed up for Sunday, show up because we got a confirmation email, and no one on site. We rescheduled for another time during the week at 9am, got a confirmation email, no parking at the future tenant space, no one to be found so we asked a worker who seemed to be maintenance and he said they might come in 30 minutes (way past our appointment time so we left). Both times -- no one answered their phones either. They need to update their times and stop sending confirmation emails. Wasting people's time!! I feel bad for anyone who is not from the area trying to check out Veda. It's telling how a place runs from how the apt searching / touring experience is. read more

I currently live here, I wish I could leave zero stars. Fair warning - this is going to be a long review. Our unit has been under construction since January 26th of this year. There was a leak from the heavy rains in our roommate's bedroom and our living room that they came to repair. The contractors blocked off half of our living room and our balcony (shoving all the remaining furniture to the other half of the living room demeaning it unusable) with a plastic tarp and then didnt come back. And didnt come back. And didnt come back. A dozen unanswered phone calls and emails to management. Until finally I threatened legal action, then miraculously someone got right back to me. Last week they finally came back to work, but SURPRISE it's been so long that they are saying the wood beams in our living room are rotting so repairs are going to take EVEN LONGER. AND my roommate's situation got worse and they had to do the same thing they did to the living room: block half of it off with a plastic tarp and shove the rest of his belongings into the other half (including the bed being taken apart and leaning on the wall). When i told them they effectively unhoused my roommate and need to get him a hotel in the meantime, they said to contact our renter's insurance. We did, they said its the apartment's responsibility. And WHAT DO YOU KNOW they won't respond to any of my emails requesting a hotel again. It's really convenient that they only respond if I threaten to sue. They said they can't give us any money off of rent until ALL the repairs are finished. So, today is day 105 of our apartment being under construction. Day 105 of having no living room or balcony. Day 105 of no sunlight in our apartment. Day 105 of rotting wood in our apartment. It's also Day 10 of my roommate having no bedroom. Day 10 of my roommate having no bed to sleep on. Day 10 of my roommate not having a hotel or other housing accommodations. This is Month 5 of paying full rent without full access to our unit. I could look past the fire alarms going off at all ours of the night. I could look past the water being shut off with no notice. I could look past all of the large capacity washers and dryers being removed with no notice. I could look past the rec room being renovated with no notice. I could look past the elevators breaking every week. Don't waste your money moving here. It has a great facade and friendly faces at the front but once you sign a lease you realize it's a scam. Do. If I could give minus stars I would. First I was almost attacked by men in the apartment building on two occasions and yes police were called. Also robbed at gun point with no help from management they would not allow the tapes of the incident to be viewed nor corporate with the police imagine being robbed with a gun in The lobby and they won't help you or let you see the tape of who robbed you. Security watched the incident and ran the other direction. Currently the apartment is under construction surrounding my unit there are men working on four units at once around me starting at 7 am. Sawing and screaming and yelling playing loud music and pounding and banging. This is non stop till end of the day. On Saturday today currently while I type they started at 9 am. I have a lot of video not sure how to post here. The girls at the front desk are beyond worthless and also rude. I told them about a man exposing himself to me and walking after me in front of the lobby doors and showed her a photo of the man and video Misty said well sounds like a police issue not mine.... I'm scared I will be very hurt living here. I fear for my life daily. I spoke to Misty about the black mold in the unit she scrunches her nose and says ew I'll get my team on that ASAP she did not send anyone to look at the issue. We told Misty about mice in the kitchen same situation She will not handle one issue and ignores the situation it's been months! I've spoke to tenants in the building same issues. The electricity is off a few times a week as well as the water. You can not live here and have a normal life. You will miss work and the plans you have due to waking up with no resources No water no power you never know living here. Stay as far away from this place as you can. I'm scared every day when I have to leave the apt to walk my dog or get mail it's very unsafe here the hotel next door is full of sex trafficking and crime, management doesn't care enough about their tenants to have lights in the front of the building. Homeless people use the gym bathroom for a sink bath and a place to hide in the dark and sleep. There are mice and BLACK MOLD infecting the units as well no one will help fix any of the problems they ignore everything. Someone is stuck in the elevators and they have to wait for the firemen a few times a week as they are always broken ALL of them. The firemen are curious to how this place is not shut down I have a long list of notes since move in here with issues. Do not move here it's not safe. I fear the way the will treat me after this review that management will try and retaliate to this message and make my life worse in this building but it needs to be said and address how bad this building is. These walls have been exposed for weeks and yes they were open and uncovered during the storm these units under construction will have water and mold damage from being exposed for so long. Since the management neglected us for about a month, our guest bedroom flooded from all the rain in the winter went from a flood to BLACK MOLD!!!!! Not only was our unit infested with black mold and cockroaches (which is a whole other frustrating story) the management is completely negligent leading us 1. Live with black mold for 3 months not giving one single care for our health. We had to go to the doctors, I even threw up once after trying to move our belongings out of the mold infested room 2. Gaslight us and use scare tactics for us to pay rent for a 2 bedroom unit when we really only had 1 bedroom for 4 months (not to mention we had to live with our guest bedroom mattress in the LIVING ROOM for all 4 months so it wouldn't get ruined) it literally felt like we were living in a chaotic studio apartment with all of our stuff everywhere. 3. Since it was apparent they didn't care for our health, we had to terminate our lease early and do a emergency move out asap because we were starting to feel so sick 4. Once they finally did something about the mold, they LEFT THE WALL COMPLETELY OPEN!!!!! We could literally see into our neighbors unit!!!! 5. We had to also keep the window open for the 4 months so we completely felt UNSAFE in our home. We slept with our bedroom door locked. Have you ever seen the documentary "night stalker" ?? The other review about a poor experience for prospective tenants is 100% true. This review is mainly for their leasing agent Misty - very rude, very condescending, and has no idea how to work in a corporate setting. I went to tour the unit yesterday, I was told to come see a 2 bedroom 2 bath that wasn't ready to move in just yet but I could see it and put an application/deposit in the meantime. Once I got there, turns out the apartment is in no way available for a viewing and they can only show other units, however they weren't even the same floor plan. I sat in the lobby with my boyfriend for about 30 minutes waiting to see something. Misty had someone else show the unit instead. She was brand new and couldn't help very much with the process since she was training, but at least she tried answering my questions kindly. After touring, I asked Misty how I could apply and hold the unit since my lease wasn't up until next month, and I was pleased to hear there were no other applicants which made it urgent to want to get an application in. I asked her to send over information on the unit and whether they could hold it, along with the application information (they said prices fluctuate every day so wanted to make sure I had the correct amount). From 12ish pm when I toured the space to 6pm when the office closes, I did not hear from anyone even after I followed up via phone. Today I called back first thing in the morning, still trying to just put in an application ASAP but wanting to confirm the pricing and holding details which still hadn't been answered. I was told "I'll resend the email right this second and I'll call you back in 5 minutes to make sure you got it" - never sent it, never called me back in said 5 minutes. The email finally arrived way later and way past 5 minutes, and the questions I had about holding the unit (the whole reason why I was waiting for her to send an email in the first place) weren't answered so I had to then hop on the phone for the nth time - I also asked her about the rapport of the building having toxic black mold due to the heavy rain that hit LA this year and if she had a health report for me to see (I'm immunocompromised). She said she would ask management and call me back in 15 minutes - never happened. In the meantime, I tried filling out the application but was very confused to see that the price was completely different online than the price Misty sent in her email the very same day. I called back again and spoke to their assistant manager only to be told that the unit was no longer available because someone else applied first. Completely ridiculous and completely unfair considering I spent over 24 hours playing the waiting game when I could have applied and been done with it. Misty eventually called back only be extremely rude, stating that she didn't understand my complaint and that "obviously" if the application is online someone else would take it. Our entire phone conversation was less than 2 minutes long and I eventually gave up and hung up on her - she wouldn't stop interrupting me to the point where I could barely get a word in. I refuse to be spoken to like a child. This is not my first rental and I've worked in leasing before so I'm well aware of the process. It doesn't need to be this difficult. I can't say that the building itself sucks, because from what I saw it was all lovely and probably would've been a nice place to live. I almost moved in last year to a 1 bedroom 1 bath but the timing didn't work out with when my lease was ending and when the floor plan I liked would have an opening. I worked with a really nice agent named Adriana who was quick, responsive, and friendly - so it sounds like they maybe just have a bad apple. That being said, when you have an incompetent leasing agent who can't understand the sense of urgency, and the only other agent is brand new and unable to assist as well, then you start to feel like you have to beg them to allow you to give them your business, which I refuse to do. There is probably a good reason as to why so many of their units have been sitting empty for months. I m leaving this review for my 82 year old mother that has Parkinson's Isabel Decker. I would like for people to know what kind of management and business this is, before you move in. My mom who is now in a assisted living due to health conditions, has lost all her belongings living here. In Sept 2022 we notified the building letting them know that their could be toxic mold in the unit where my mom was having difficulty breathing. They came out at the time and changed air filters. My mom had 2 strokes and had to be hospitalized in that same month. I had to hold the apartment for my mother because all her belongings were in this unit in the hopes she could come back.(Everything she owns was in the apartment) The apartment complex ended up tearing down the living room walls down and floors because there was toxic mold. 84,000k sore count with Penecillium and others toxic mold Even the city came in and investigated that building was unlivable and this is Jan-March 2023. This complex makes you sign a lease that doesn't let participate in class action law suits in these very case because more than another other units are living in these conditions. Anyway the attorney send us one email saying that we need to look to our renters insurance to have them move us and repay us for all the damages. And of course renters insurance does cover this and we did file with the insurance but when the damage is pre Existing which in case it is here the building's insurance is liable. Real simple just hand over all the damages and cost for relocation and the insurance covers it. Guess what I helped my mom. We followed the lease agreement We followed the lawyers email We reached out to our renters insurance They investigated showing the building liable The city came and also found the building liable We have the mold report showing an 84,000 spore level count in Toxic mold All their manager had to do was give our damages to the insurance company but she wont even pass on the information for my 82year old now apartmentless mother can receive some sort of compensation for everything she lost. I went from west LA - already submitted my application in advance as I'm in a rush to finalize a spot. However, I came and the security guard Latisha said Misty is working but she's on break so she won't be able to give you the tour !! Wait, what? I am confused. I asked for the mold to be inspected multiple times with no answer. Last night our sink exploded filling with sewage to top it all off. We have had to submit 8 service requests since moving in feb. When emailed both the parent company and Veda saying we moved into an unlivable apartment both emails were ignored. You can try calling and phone rings forever with no voicemail. I want out. If I could give this place a zero I would. I moved here in 2022, probably the peak of this places prime. Since under new management it's one thing after the next after the next. The people running this place are so incompetent. My car got broken into and the cameras never caught the perp and the building never offered any sort of aid for my door handle being ripped off my car while parked in the garage. Maintenance will always leave your place in shambles after fixing any requests. Asked for a fix on a clogged bathroom sink. They came in while I was not home and I ended up throwing away over $100 worth of product I had stored under the sink. All they said was "sorry some toilet paper got wet". Not to mention on top of my sink there are black splatters over everything! The mirror, the counter, tooth brushes, perfume, decor, bath mats, you name it! If you're thinking that this place is the right price, that's because of all the cons that come with it. The only pros about this place is it looks good for the price. That's it. The phob that gets you in the building and up the elevator is old and crusty like everyone before you had owned it, but when that thing snaps off your key chain after simply pulling it out of your pocket they'll charge you $100 to replace it. Not to mention my garage clicker stopped working about 6 months after moving in and they charge you about $200 to replace those. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE OTHER REVIEWS AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUILDING. I am counting down the days until my lease is up so I can move as far away from here as possible. Everything seems promising when they first take you on a tour of the building, but I promise you it's all just a cover up. When we first began our lease, the building was under construction and was told that the construction (specifically the pool area since we were approaching summer) would be completed within two months of moving in. Come December, 8 MONTHS LATER, they finally finished the pool. Just in time for winter! It took over a year for us to be able to use the washers and dryers that were already installed upon move in. The rest of the construction is still happening, TWO YEARS LATER, and wakes me up at 6:00 am almost daily. The security around this place is actually a joke. Doors are constantly wedged open, cars are constantly being broken into, and my car was physically stolen from the underground parking garage, never to be found again. When I reported it to the building, they told me "it happens" and then refused to release the security footage because they were worried I would "hold them liable for other events that may have occurred on tape during that time". It honestly wouldn't surprise me if it was an inside job. I had to call my car insurance company when the car wasn't ever found and the agent I ended up speaking with was a former resident of the building as well. When I told him what happened, his response was "I'm not even surprised". On top of all of this, I have repeatedly reported water leaks in my unit. The ceiling of my roommates bathroom was pouring water and we couldn't get ahold of anyone for almost 24 hours. Two weeks ago I reported another leak in my bedroom that I had previously reported in APRIL. That was 10 months ago and was told "There's nothing wrong. It's just a stain". Today, two weeks later, someone from maintenance finally came to look at it and shockingly enough, the entire wall of my bedroom has water damage. They didn't even call me to let me know what was wrong, how they were going to fix it, a timeline of repairs or anything. My roommate texted me to let me know he even stopped by. I called the building immediately after to follow up about the situation and when I called for resident services, nobody answered the phone. I decided to call back and see if they would answer if I directed the call to the leasing office instead of resident services (because why should they care about their current residents) and guess who picked up the phone! Just to tell me that they had no information for me and they'd follow up. But of course they never did, and I came home the following day to my bedroom completely torn apart. Wall and carpet ripped out, bed and dresser wrapped in plastic, and NO NOTICE that they were going to even start the repairs. I have been sleeping on the floor of my living room for 5 days now because they refuse to find alternative housing for me because they don't consider it to be "inhabitable". (Please reference the photos and decide for yourself if a bed wrapped in plastic and no wall is a HABITABLE environment. I could go on about how terrible my experience has been and currently is with this building, but I think the above has given a pretty accurate idea of what it is to live here. Do yourselves a favor and stay away far away from this place. UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO "BUSINESS M." (Notice there's no name even attached to the account) Since Thursday, I have called the leasing office 14 times. Yes, 14. I have sent emails, asked for the building managers information to contact and there was either no response, everyone was "with someone at the moment but we'll call you back!" or "the manager is new so he doesn't have any contact information" (which we all know is a big fat lie). So please don't come on this platform and respond as though you and this company actually care about your residents because it is clear that you don't. Also -- to those still reading this review. It is now a few months without doing laundry, the washer got flooded and all I've been doing since 2019 is fill in maintainance requests and write e-mails to the extent of begging....yes, begging. The office never picks up any phone calls. Once, they gave me a call that I missed, but I immediately called back, within seconds. When they picked up, they told me they'd call me back because they were about to go on lunch (Giiirl, why'd you call me in the first place if you didn't have time??) Fire alarm goes off weekly and it's not uncommon that they'll go off during ungodly hours (between midnight to 4am). Neighbors let their dogs relieve themselves in the common areas despite several email notices saying not to (common areas like the outdoor pool/bbq area, the 1st floor neighbors' patio doors, sometimes in the hallways, and even at some peoples' front door). Since I've lived her (1.5 years) I've seen at least 3 cars get broken into, including my own. And that's just in the parking garage that I have access to. Packages and mail get stolen frequently too. It's a beautiful building visually, but it's old and is always in repair/construction. They'll turn off water for hours a few days at a time for some sort of repair. They'll fix leaks or other issues in the garage making it unable to park in your own parking spot. EVS (janitorial services) come through on a daily basis. They're great. And no roaches! Security is scheduled on a nightly basis to make rounds. The graveyard shift is very kind and wave when they see me or my girlfriend walking to our cars at 4 or 5 in the morning. However, I've caught a security guard working out in the parking garage. I'm with it, at least there's eyes in my parking area lol, but likely not what they're getting paid to do. The elevators go down pretty frequently. The key fob access also goes down so some days you won't be able to get into the building unless you walk around the whole block so the security guard at the front desk can open the door for you. It's not the worst place in the world, but it's mainly inconvenient to live here. Too many issues that you'd need to tolerate even if you're just tryna live low key and under the radar. read more

Living at at Veda has been a good experience for me though out the years. It is even greater now with the management team that we have. Gio, Melanie, Greg, Marie and the team are examples of going above and beyond. Very nice and energetic. Also, our maintenance guys lead by Ray and the crew are awesome and always good to us and has quick response time when it comes to getting work orders done. read more

I lived at Veda apartments throughout the pandemic, and it truely felt like home. The amenities were fantastic, with a gym, pool, and parking available, which made day to day living more convenient. The location is another major plus - being within walking distance to shops and close to the highway made commuting and errands much easier. Overall, I had a great experience and dont have anything negative to say for my 4 years living there. read more

**MICE INFESTED APARTMENT, HEALTH HAZARD** I lived at Veda from 12/20 - 1/21. - During that time my room mate and I found 4 mice in the apartment ranging from small to near rat size. You can hear mice crawling and scratching on the walls above you at night. Disgusting, makes you feel like you're in a 3rd world country. - After finding the first mouse, they sent their maintenance team who found multiple openings behind cabinetry in the bathroom, kitchen, etc. that were promptly patched up. - After that, we found 3 more mice in total in the kitchen, bathroom and in one of the bedrooms. - There was never any accountability, they refused to fumigate and sent an incompetent pest control vendor who literally just set up mice traps and said there's nothing they can do. - I thought about filing a formal report with the city although the process was more than I wanted to deal with. - This is very old building, don't be fooled by the renovation. I also have reason to suspect there is mold in the walls, again not worth the time for me to investigate, glad I left asap. The only redeeming quality about this place is that its in a relatively decent location and looks nice on the outside. Just know what you're getting yourself into before you move here. Although I empathize with the fact that majority of the buildings in the valley suffered from the storms earlier this year (including Veda) in 2023. I still unfortunately have to rate this building with 1 star. My wife and I have been loyal and punctual tenants for almost 2 years. Never being late on rent, never had a complaint on us from our neighbors, we are the ideal tenants for almost any building. However, once the storms hit, that's where we learned that even the most loyal and consistent tenants are not actually cared for. Our room has been flooded several times and ultimately formed black mold in our 2nd bedroom. We, at first, politely asked to fix the underlying issue. However, they elected to simply dry up the water and put the carpet back down when it was dry. Well, as you can expect, our guest bedroom once again flooded but this time a lot worst. After sending over 15+ emails almost begging for help with our unit we received zero responses. Then our washing machine broke and they couldn't fix that either for the last 2-3 months. I understand that they were probably stressed. But you have tenants who are living with black mold; breathing, eating, sleeping, relaxing while having black mold exposure. We began to feel sick, nauseous, and my wife and I finally had enough and elected to move elsewhere because our safety comes first. Not our relationship with VEDA. They have a very high turnover rate right now with their staff due to everyone quitting and have a lot of vacancy due to everyone leaving for similar issues. Terrible management. Irresponsible. Unprofessional. I made an appointment online. Prior to my appointment, they sent an email and two texts to confirm my appointment on Sunday. I drove over an hour to go to the building. Then the security told me "Sorry, it has been a mistake, and our leasing office is close today, you are the 8 person here today due to the mistake". Like how difficult it is to use the technology and block the day their office is closed? They have no respect for people's time. The next day I called their office no one responded. Day 5.... I my sliding door and window we're both left opened overnight while I I was away from my apartment. The leasing office decided to add another "portable ac" to cool down my apartment so they have tubes going out both my window and my balcony. I'm on the the first floor by the way. Someone could have easily walked in through the sliding door or came in through the window. I called the leasing office and left a message with marlo in regards to the matter and demanded a call back on how I'm supposed to sleep and be safe tonight tot the tubing and to relay the message to Aaron that I needed a call back from someone today before he office closed. I got NO call back. Lastly, I went to my ENT today and since Saturday she said my allergies are flaring up due to the construction, the windows are allowing Dust inside my apartment. Here I am, I tried to be more open with the grand, but really this place has officially become a HELL HOLE! Our AC has been out for 3 days. It has not been fixed. Ive made several calls and emails and have not heard back, it was supposed to be fixed yesterday! They provided it ya with a small "ac" but it only made the apartment hotter. I cannot open my doers or windows because of the construction that has been going on here. I am literally in a sauna and no one cares. I met some residents at the elevators and they too are also having the same issue Update! We had a leak, this is the 3rd time since I been here, remember it's only been a month. The first 2 times were in the guest restroom, the second time I was showering... maintenance came in while I was in the shower and started knocking on my RESTROOM DOOR, I was like what the hell is going on, as any human being you'd be like what do I do? Did someone just break in? I opened the door wrapped around a towel on my waist staring there was a leak. I was shocked almost naked and I had someone in my apartment. They had me out of my unit for three weeks. Provided zero updates . I've sent about six emails following up. They have me out of my place starting the week of Thanksgiving in the middle of pandemic without any accommodations without ANY COMMUNICATION. YOU MUST BE OUT OF YOUR MIND IF YOU SIGN A LEASE HERE. Showed her text confirmation and email confirmations. Still said she was unable to give tours. Maybe discriminated due to our race or how we look.
