Cleaning staff of what I can tell might be only 2 people do a great job of handling the occasional mess. Apartments: Well maintained, appliances are pretty good, but all compact versions as the rooms themselves are pretty small. Decent amount of cabinet space, and high ceilings so if you can make use of vertical storage, you should be in good shape. Floors are concrete so while they are easy to clean, they are also very cold. Not recommended for families due to size, but couples can make due and singles will be fine as long as you don't have a lot of stuff. Amenities: - Parking is limited to 1 space per apartment which would be one of the few drawbacks but some of the neighboring streets have free parking with only 1 day where you have to move the car for street cleaning. Streets in the area are also very safe seeming.. Building has electric car charging spots also. - Gym Equipment is relatively new, good quality and kept clean. Nothing too fancy, similar to a nice hotel. Would be nice to have 1 or 2 more items but definitely adequate for a relatively small apartment complex. Also, never busy and 24 hours (although be careful after hours as I believe the person directly above can hear the noise from the gym). Two large TV's for watching games etc. - Coffee Commissary: This place is great. While it's not part of MLofts, it is in the same building and is a good place to do work. - Pet Run: This is a secure walkway where you can walk your dog. A great idea in concept but I generally walk around the block to the grass. - Laundry: 1 washer/ 1 dryer on every floor. Seems like not enough but I've only occasionally run into a situation where I had to borrow another floor's. Laundry rooms are relatively clean (as far as laundry rooms go anyway). - Common gathering areas: Firepit, common area tables and penthouse grills are all well maintained. These areas don't seem to get much use. While they are nice to have, I think it's probably because it's a bit awkward to have a gathering or to hang out in the middle of the common where you are in view of basically everyone else that lives in the complex (unless you're into that sort of thing). The penthouse grill area is more private which is nice, but again, I've never seen a gathering up there. - Wifi in lobby/gym: This seems a little spotty, but there's general cell service in the area. Staff: Julie the Property Manager and Stephanie the Assistant Community Manager are definitely a huge plus for this place. Both of them are very responsive to concerns and will go out of their way to take care of issues. They have responded to all of our maintenance requests within 24 hours. They even move all of the packages into the locked office before they leave for the weekend and put them back out in front of your mailbox to minimize the chance of theft. Residents: Generally young professionals who keep to themselves, very dog friendly.

My experience was incredibly frustrating and, in my opinion, completely unacceptable. I paid two application fees, submitted the documentation requested, and made multiple attempts to get clarification when additional documentation was supposedly needed. The most offensive part of this experience was being told that I had altered my pay stubs. I completely dispute that accusation. I provided my documentation in good faith, and rather than being given a clear opportunity to address the issue, I was left trying to figure out what exactly they wanted from me. I was also told that my co-signer did not provide sufficient income documentation. I specifically asked what additional documentation we could provide to satisfy the requirements. Natalie then told me to complete a "tax transcript," yet there was no option available to me to provide or complete the document she was referring to. I did exactly what a reasonable applicant should do: I asked for clarification. I even emailed Alex on Friday specifically asking what was needed because I wanted to resolve the issue and provide whatever legitimate documentation was required. Despite my efforts, I feel that I was given the runaround after already paying two application fees and investing substantial time gathering documentation. The entire process left me feeling that my time and money were not respected. Being accused of submitting altered documents is especially serious, and I expect companies handling sensitive financial information to have clear, consistent, and professional procedures for verifying documentation and communicating with applicants. I have requested the return of my two application fees and the removal of my personal information and documentation from their system to the extent permitted by law. I have also requested an explanation of the allegation regarding my pay stubs and clarification regarding exactly what documentation was supposedly missing. At this point, I am reporting my experience involving Alex, Natalie, and Frost Chaddock to the appropriate local, state, and federal agencies for independent review. That is not the level of professionalism or transparency I expect when dealing with someone's personal and financial information.

The building is clean, they keep the units up to date and working efficiently and effectively. I went from a 2 bedroom, to a 1 bedroom over the course of a handful of years. My partner and I at the time were the very first renters to secure a unit in the brand new built complex. It was a virtually perfect living experience for us, and then myself alone in the one bed unit. Better late than never, I HIGHLY recommend this complex as a hop-skip-jump away from Sunset Blvd and all Silver Lake and Echo Park have to offer. But it really is that great. Of course, I'm not saying this building is perfect. Like other buildings, problems do arise here an there, and you encounter the same issues as you would in any communal living setting. But unlike other places, the management actually deal with the problems as they arise, within reason, and they don't try to pull the wool over your eyes. In addition, the sense of community here is great. Liz and everyone else that work here are so friendly, I genuinely love going to check the mail or pick up a package, because we usually chat for a few minutes. They truly care about the building residents! I think this situation is really rare in a big city. The cherry on top of it all is when I signed the agreement and was lead to my apartment, I had mentioned that I was new to the city and did not know anyone. That's when Liz encouraged me to join her and some of our neighbors for a hike. I took her up on her offer and drove to Runyon Canyon Park (which is only minutes away). The hours flew by as I got to know some of my neighbors/co-adventurers. The other day a friend who used to live in LA but currently does not was passing through town, and I offered him a place to stay--I love having friends over because for the first time in years I have a place that's big enough to have guests. When I told him the address, he revealed that he had actually lived in this building when he first moved to LA! When I asked him how it compared to the other places he'd lived around town, he said this was actually his favorite, in part because it was the biggest studio apartment he ever had.
