I am using an alias to protect my identity. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I have lived at M Lofts for around 1 year and have both good and bad things to say about the apartment complex. Overall, I am disappointed in the quality of life I've experienced here and would advise everyone to keep searching. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ PROS: - Clean and modern units - High, loft style ceilings - Convenient mail room and locker system - One parking spot is included +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ CONS: - PAPER THIN WALLS. You will be able to hear your neighbors cough, sneeze, jump, run, walk, have sex, hear their dogs bark for hours on end, and will be able to hear any party going on in any part of the complex. I was unable to sleep Thanksgiving eve due to my neighbor's techno music. I am also frequently traumatized during the middle of the night by the sounds of my neighbor grunting and enjoying loud sex. In my opinion, this is a form of sexual assault as I am forced to listen to loud sex at 2 am against my will. However, I understand that this is normal within a heavily populated city... - Tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny.... barely any space for furniture and I've had to constantly re-organize and / or purge my possessions in order to fit into this box of an apartment - Everyone can see you if you choose to hang out in the courtyard. I'm not really into being watched, but if you are, this is perfect for you. Otherwise, the courtyard is a waste of an "amenity" - Urine and feces stained carpet in the hallways - Tiny fridge - The sound of wind or water traveling through the building pipes keeps me up at night - Blinds do nothing to block out light. You will need to invest in black-out curtains or will risk getting no sleep - Amidst the height of COVID-19, many tenants walked around maskless. If you believe in science and COVID, you most likely will feel uncomfortable here. - No hot water from the sinks (just the shower-head) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ NEUTRAL: - My experience with the office staff has been neutral. They are not the most welcoming people, but seem responsive if you dare approach. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Your fellow neighbors at M Lofts will have a huge impact on the quality of your life here. Recently (4 months) moved to LA and I am very pleased with MLofts so far: General Building: Very clean, modern, simple but well maintained. Cleaning staff of what I can tell might be only 2 people do a great job of handling the occasional mess. Apartments: Well maintained, appliances are pretty good, but all compact versions as the rooms themselves are pretty small. Decent amount of cabinet space, and high ceilings so if you can make use of vertical storage, you should be in good shape. Floors are concrete so while they are easy to clean, they are also very cold. Not recommended for families due to size, but couples can make due and singles will be fine as long as you don't have a lot of stuff. Amenities: - Parking is limited to 1 space per apartment which would be one of the few drawbacks but some of the neighboring streets have free parking with only 1 day where you have to move the car for street cleaning. Streets in the area are also very safe seeming.. Building has electric car charging spots also. - Gym Equipment is relatively new, good quality and kept clean. Nothing too fancy, similar to a nice hotel. Would be nice to have 1 or 2 more items but definitely adequate for a relatively small apartment complex. Also, never busy and 24 hours (although be careful after hours as I believe the person directly above can hear the noise from the gym). Two large TV's for watching games etc. - Coffee Commissary: This place is great. While it's not part of MLofts, it is in the same building and is a good place to do work. - Pet Run: This is a secure walkway where you can walk your dog. A great idea in concept but I generally walk around the block to the grass. - Laundry: 1 washer/ 1 dryer on every floor. Seems like not enough but I've only occasionally run into a situation where I had to borrow another floor's. Laundry rooms are relatively clean (as far as laundry rooms go anyway). - Common gathering areas: Firepit, common area tables and penthouse grills are all well maintained. These areas don't seem to get much use. While they are nice to have, I think it's probably because it's a bit awkward to have a gathering or to hang out in the middle of the common where you are in view of basically everyone else that lives in the complex (unless you're into that sort of thing). The penthouse grill area is more private which is nice, but again, I've never seen a gathering up there. - Wifi in lobby/gym: This seems a little spotty, but there's general cell service in the area. Staff: Julie the Property Manager and Stephanie the Assistant Community Manager are definitely a huge plus for this place. Both of them are very responsive to concerns and will go out of their way to take care of issues. They have responded to all of our maintenance requests within 24 hours. They even move all of the packages into the locked office before they leave for the weekend and put them back out in front of your mailbox to minimize the chance of theft. Residents: Generally young professionals who keep to themselves, very dog friendly. read more

The apartments here were absolutely beautiful. I have zero issues with the apartments themselves, on the other hand the two people working at the desk Sascha and Jackie were both pretty cold towards me basically the entire time I lived there, specifically Sascha. You would think when you're moving into somewhere new the number one thing you want is to feel comfortable and unfortunately the energy was so bad from both of them it made it pretty awkward to ask for anything. After leaving the apartment and paying close to $5,000 to break my lease early, I followed up weeks and weeks after we had left to see what the update was on the returned security deposit, and NONE of my calls were answered, yet they emailed me back finally within hours once I sent an email, and were extremely short and not helpful in the slightest. Would definitely have appreciated a bit more of a friendlier team at M lofts. I was always nothing but nice. read more

There is always dog poop and pee in the communal areas. The carpets in the hallways are stained with old urine. The laundry rooms are filthy and the machines themselves never seem to get cleaned / detoxed. I also saw a bug inside one of the washers and I'm hoping it is not a bed bug. One of the treadmills in the gym is broken and no one ever seems to care to fix it. Also, the flooring of the gym is uneven and this is a safety hazard. read more

This place looks very appealing with updated appliances and the modern appearance but stay far far away. Management is beyond childish and completely unhelpful. If you want to talk to a wall, ask for Sascha. The fire alarms would go off frequently in the night, leaks from above neighbors, constant dog poop in the hallways. I can go on and on. This place was not worth the money and parking is scarce if you are looking to have guests over or live with a significant other. Save the money and look elsewhere. read more

Lived at Mlofts for 3 years and can honestly say that the building, amenities, and property management have exceeded all my expectations. The apartment complex is clean, secure/safe and well maintained. The gym is fabulous, clean, and rarely used! The Coffee Commissary located downstairs is not only convenient but also incredibly delicious! The top floor view and common space barbecue area is impressive, gorgeous and perfect for entertaining. The tenants are quiet and respectful, units themselves are equipped with modern top quality appliances and a minimalistic sleek aesthetic. In the years we've lived here we have had very minimal maintenance requests, but in the instances where we've needed a fix or repair, all our requests were met with prompt responses and fixes, no hassle or issue. My wife and I lived at MLofts for just over a year and are very sorry our business has led us to have to relocate. We love the overall style of the building and our unit was perfect for us. We scoured yelp for apartments and almost all of the listings we liked had bad reviews about noise. Well, that's a deal breaker for us. Finally, we came across MLofts and the reviews said it all. Between the well-constructed walls and neighbors respecting the "quiet time" rules, our unit (410) was surprisingly quiet. Julie Kim has been a great Property Manager! She was always on top of any issue that came up and kept residents well informed. Antonio and his team keep MLofts very clean and up to date. When I moved to LA last year, I looked at about 30 apartments. The moment I came across MLofts, and the 1 bedroom unit I'm in right now, I fell in love with it straight away. The in-built furnishings are top quality. I particularly like the polished concrete floor and modern/minimal cabinets/appliances. The apartment complex is always clean, including the gym, and lots of communal spaces to relax, especially, the sun loungers on the penthouse floor. The neighbors are friendly, too. Julie (Property Manager) is amazing! Uber friendly and accommodating. Finally, if you wanna ditch your car and beat the LA traffic, the Palms Expo Line is walking distance (only a few minutes away), and it takes you straight to Santa Monica beach or Downtown LA. A note for potential applicants interested in applying to M Lofts: the leasing agents here are extremely rude and flaky, especially Sascha Breaux who misbehaved with me and my group of friends who were potential applicants as well. We had been previously in communication with Jackie Marcos who without any notice transferred us to Sascha. After constant back and forth communication regarding our rental offer from M Lofts, we were told that they can't honor the offer they had given to us previously AFTER we had already filled out the application and paid the application fee. If this is how the management treats potential applicants, then I am sorry but this kind of behavior is abhorrent and totally unacceptable and unprofessional. We were NOT refunded the fee despite taking this issue to upper management. These leasing agents are just sitting there to suck the money out of you. Beware future applicants, there are much better properties in the same area with lower rents who will treat you kindly, not scam you and not shout at you on the phone. read more

I have lived at MLofts for over a year and half and I have had a pleasant experience. Management is responsive and the apartments are very comfortable, modern, and clean. The open feel of the units, make's it very cozy. Considering being on a busy street, it is extremely quiet and I love lounging at the rooftop or downstairs by the firepit after a long day of work. I have meet some great neighbors who became great friends, so having a very welcoming surrounding is always a plus. They are installing grills on the rooftop, so that will make it even more enjoyable especially in the summers when it is too warm to cook inside. There is free parking along the back side of the street, so all in all, great apartment complex. read more

Amazing community and amazing staff. This place is quiet, comfortable and friendly! My wife and I love the guys in the front office, they go out of their way to make sure we are all taken care of. MLofts is pet friendly and the grounds a well taken care of by a dedicated cleaning crew. The building is in a great part of town, just outside Culver City. I moved out of MLofts in Jan 2017, only because a friend owns a house nearby and recently had an extra room open up. Over the years I've lived in many apartment complexes around LA, and I wanted to say MLofts was by far the best place I ever lived at. First and foremost, management has always been amazing. The current manager, Julie, keeps the building running like clockwork. The building is always clean and in perfect working order. It's super quiet and I never heard any of my neighbors. They recently installed grills on the rooftop patio (I wish I had time to make a nice steak before I moved out!), making it a perfect spot to host guests and hang out, especially on a nice summer evening (though it's always been a great spot to hang out or sunbathe). There are cameras located throughout the building, so I feel that MLofts is extremely safe. All of the people I met there were extremely friendly. There's a great gym on the first floor and a coffee shop in the building as well. Beyond that, there are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores within a short walk of the building. Overall, a great place to live, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an apartment in the Palms/ Culver City area. read more

I was one of the very first residents at MLofts. I left for international travels for 2 years, and when I came back I moved back to exactly where I was. That's how much I liked MLofts. Now I have to move out again due to relocation, I will surely miss this place. This is a clean and modern building without the amenities you probably wouldn't use anyway. There is no pool or a hottub, but I'm happy not to pay for things I'd use 3 times a year. There's a small but nice gym that should be enough for most people's needs. One of my favorite things is the team that keeps MLofts clean and functional. Special thanks to all of the crew and the manager Julie, who goes the extra mile to keep residents happy. I had SUCH a hard time finding a dog friendly apartment on the westside! The dog run on the side of the building makes it so I don't have to walk my dog late at night, which is nice. Most of my neighbors have dogs too and I know some of them dog sit for one another. My neighbors and I get together so our dogs can play! I really value that the building is like Fort Knox for the single women out there wanting to feel that added sense of safety in the Palms area. There is little to zero chance of anyone without a key accessing the building and if they do for some reason, they won't get far at all. You need a key to get anywhere in the building. I feel very safe here. The building is brand new and has a fabulous modern aesthetic. All the units come with state of the art appliances, and have an upscale and modern feel. I has an issue with my fridge having some manufacture defect (it was brand new) and the management took care of it right away. Maintenance requests are done online, and rent can be paid online as well which is so convenient! There are quite a few common areas (fire pit, sun deck on the top level, lounges on multiple floors) and with so many units you are bound to get to know a few of your neighbors. The management, maintenance team and leasing agents are all very helpful, friendly, straightforward and all around good people. I've lived here for about 6 months now and highly recommend considering a place at MLofts! read more

I've lived in M Lofts for around a year now and it's been nothing but a positive experience. Helpful, friendly, and accommodating management (Julie and Peyton), friendly neighbors, 24 hr. gym, cafe downstairs, beautiful apartments with high-quality appliances, comfortable outdoor lounge area upstairs, and a central location that is a 5 minute drive from downtown Culver. Only downside is that each apartment only gets one parking spot which is a little tricky if you have a roommate, especially since street parking can also be a bit difficult during the evenings. Whenever I had a maintenance request or issue they were always willing and able to help me at a moments notice. MLofts has pristine grounds including the gym and all common areas. It is dog friendly and is a welcoming place to call home. I had to relocate for my job so had to move from this beautiful place. I miss the high ceilings and well thought out floor plan. If not for my job relocation, I would have stayed! One of the highlights for me was Julie in the management office. She was always helpful and responsive. She was so helpful when I moved in and facilitated everything for me. The outside areas are great, including a fire pit and lounge areas. All questions and maintenance requests are addressed immediately. The property and leasing managers, Julie and Peyton, are amazing and extremely helpful. The location is central to access all of LA and the immediate area has everything. Literally the best place I've ever lived. So modern, so clean, amazing neighbors, dog friendly, helpful staff, you name it. The grounds are gorgeous, and they clean it everyday so it always looks beautiful. They have a great fire pit area where all the neighbors a can meet up for wine and gossip. Some of my favorite aspects: high ceilings, polished concrete floors (great for pets!), fun local sports bar (The Garage), close to downtown Culver, and most importantly, the leasing office/property manager are not only helpful in terms of their jobs, but they are just cool, friendly people. My wife and I have lived here for quite some time, and whenever we needed something Julie got it to us as soon as possible. Later criticisms in this review aside, this is actually a great apartment as far as LA apartments go. Great open, clean, modern look with lots of space (though severely lacking in storage space), with great location to boot. Especially with Commissary downstairs. We would've kept living here if not for jobs that led us out to the east coast. Unfortunately we have to air one major criticism, which is that a portion of our security deposit was kept from us for a not-so-legitimate reason--dry-cleaning the curtains. That sounds like normal wear and tear to me, not something to offset a return of our deposit. But now I'm a bit miffed so while we're on the topic, the bar across the street is really loud at night even with the windows closed, the closet never stayed closed because the floor was not level, and no one ever bothered to clean the drain before we moved and I had to dig out a fistful of disgusting stuff from the shower drain before it would empty correctly. A bit of stream of consciousness but if you had just properly returned the deposit and actually returned any of our messages I probably wouldn't have gotten there. Sheesh. read more

They never return phone calls and thank god for email to back me up because they never remember a thing they say! Be very very careful before signing a contract with these people. They do not know what they are doing and don't communicate in the office. The building is full, so they do not care about the tenants at all. Update: I have been at M Lofts for two years now! Just wanted to give an update that my time here has continued to be nothing short of amazing. Julie has been, since our first day here, one of the best managers we could have dreamed up. She is attentive to any issues and if a resolution is not readily available, she makes it her mission to find a way. Julie is just a wonderful person and running into her around the building is always a pleasure! The cleaning and maintenance team keep the building absolutely spotless, issue free, and are always happy to say a 'hello' when I see them around in the morning. I feel perfectly at ease in M Lofts and the atmosphere that I have created in my apartment feels like it was made for the space - the layout is just right. Although I do not have a dog (yet!), it is nice to see how welcome animals are in the community and the slideshow of community pets in the elevator is the cutest thing. Also kudos for adding the Luxor package retrieval system to the lobby which has surely given peace of mind to folks who work late often or go out of town from time to time! Long story short, the 5 stars is warranted and I'd give them 5 stars all over again. :) read more

I moved into the MLofts about a year ago. Julie and Peyton were extremely amicable and helpful then and, a year later, are still amazing managers now. They're attentive, detail-oriented, and stand up for residents' needs. They're professional, accommodating, and super pragmatic. Living in the MLofts is everything I wanted it to be. The facilities are spotless, the gym is game-changing, the cafe downstairs is amazing, and the community areas are always groomed and primed. With all that in mind, the MLofts has become my sanctuary and hub. The neighbors are primarily comprised of young, working professionals, and the vibes are always positive and friendly. The only reservation I have is the parking situation; my partner and I have two cars and have to share one parking spot. I wish they had a system where they could rent parking spots from nearby buildings since street parking in the area can be extremely difficult at times (The Garage, a sports bar across the street, attracts an unreal number of cars on game nights). I understand, however, that this is out of the control of management and was simply how the building was originally built. After 2+ years of living in MLofts, we are sad to leave. We're relocating for work, otherwise would definitely be starting our third year in the building. I initially moved into a jr. one bedroom on the second floor (215). While the unit was a bit pricy for the small footprint, the building had many of the features that I was looking for (garage parking, secure access, gym, outdoor space, and clean decor). After just over a year, we moved into a larger, one bedroom unit on the 5th floor (PH7). While this unit seemed expensive, it was a convenient move and I was able to easily transfer my lease. The unit had amazing closet space, in-unit laundry, a nice balcony, and a great view of DTLA. We loved this unit and were not ready to leave. Overall, I would definitely recommend living at MLofts. Julie was an incredible property manager for my entire time in the building. She was very responsive whenever I needed anything and went out of her way to make sure I had a smooth experience. The community is very quiet, and common spaces were always available when we wanted to use them. There are two grills on the 5th floor that are cleaned daily and look like brand new grills each morning. This is a great place to live. I hope you have the same experience if you decide to move in! read more

Moved to LA area for a job and lived at Mlofts for some time. I have to say, it was a great experience. The place is kept clean and the building is secure. This is one of the best places on the west side of LA to live in my opinion. Peyton in the leasing office was very accommodating and professional. I wonder if the owners/investors of this property know how good of a job he does with the tenants. He represents their interests well and treated me good on the way in and way out. I would definitely live at Mlofts again. This is a legit post too, no BS here. read more
