WARNING: DO NOT LIVE HERE. Terrible management, and mold infested units…read more Living at this property for the past 11 months has such a nightmare. From early on, management failed to be honest about how disruptive and long-term the construction would be, making it nearly impossible to work from home and costing me income and peace of mind. Our balcony was destroyed about a month into our lease, yet we were still charged full rent for something we could no longer use--and it's still not properly restored. Over time, our apartment developed serious mold problems. We found visible mold in bedrooms, closets, on our personal belongings, and even inside an air purifier. Many of our possessions were ruined, and I had to throw away thousands of dollars' worth of personal items. It's been heartbreaking to lose things you've worked hard for, especially when it feels completely preventable. We also raised concerns about potential asbestos exposure during construction, but management never gave clear answers or reassurance. Instead of taking responsibility, they brushed off our health concerns and avoided providing real information. When I asked for proper mold testing and accountability, the property manager (Tina) hung up on me and stopped responding to emails. Trying to get basic answers about our health, safety, and living conditions became exhausting and emotionally overwhelming. Eventually, management agreed to let us end our lease early--but only if we signed an agreement promising not to sue them or talk about what we went through. After months of stress, fear about our health, financial losses, and feeling ignored, that offer felt more like a way to silence us than to make things right. This experience has been awful and the lack of transparency, accountability, and basic respect had made things immensely worse. I would NOT recommend this property to anyone, especially people with health concerns, pets, kids, or anyone who values feeling safe and supported in their home.

Management is communicative and friendly and maintenance is quick and easy. There is a lot of construction going on currently as they're updating balconies and upgrading the whole complex, but I was told this before moving in and appreciate the work going into the building. The area is super nice, close to the 10 and 405 for commuters and easy access to Santa Monica, Culver City and much of LA. Lots of restaurants, natural spaces and things to do. There are multiple grocery stores in walkable distance if you don't have a car, and an endless amount available if you do, including international markets, trader joes and other chains.

Cleaning staff of what I can tell might be only 2 people do a great job of handling the occasional mess. Apartments: Well maintained, appliances are pretty good, but all compact versions as the rooms themselves are pretty small. Decent amount of cabinet space, and high ceilings so if you can make use of vertical storage, you should be in good shape. Floors are concrete so while they are easy to clean, they are also very cold. Not recommended for families due to size, but couples can make due and singles will be fine as long as you don't have a lot of stuff. Amenities: - Parking is limited to 1 space per apartment which would be one of the few drawbacks but some of the neighboring streets have free parking with only 1 day where you have to move the car for street cleaning. Streets in the area are also very safe seeming.. Building has electric car charging spots also. - Gym Equipment is relatively new, good quality and kept clean. Nothing too fancy, similar to a nice hotel. Would be nice to have 1 or 2 more items but definitely adequate for a relatively small apartment complex. Also, never busy and 24 hours (although be careful after hours as I believe the person directly above can hear the noise from the gym). Two large TV's for watching games etc. - Coffee Commissary: This place is great. While it's not part of MLofts, it is in the same building and is a good place to do work. - Pet Run: This is a secure walkway where you can walk your dog. A great idea in concept but I generally walk around the block to the grass. - Laundry: 1 washer/ 1 dryer on every floor. Seems like not enough but I've only occasionally run into a situation where I had to borrow another floor's. Laundry rooms are relatively clean (as far as laundry rooms go anyway). - Common gathering areas: Firepit, common area tables and penthouse grills are all well maintained. These areas don't seem to get much use. While they are nice to have, I think it's probably because it's a bit awkward to have a gathering or to hang out in the middle of the common where you are in view of basically everyone else that lives in the complex (unless you're into that sort of thing). The penthouse grill area is more private which is nice, but again, I've never seen a gathering up there. - Wifi in lobby/gym: This seems a little spotty, but there's general cell service in the area. Staff: Julie the Property Manager and Stephanie the Assistant Community Manager are definitely a huge plus for this place. Both of them are very responsive to concerns and will go out of their way to take care of issues. They have responded to all of our maintenance requests within 24 hours. They even move all of the packages into the locked office before they leave for the weekend and put them back out in front of your mailbox to minimize the chance of theft. Residents: Generally young professionals who keep to themselves, very dog friendly.

I've lived in many apartments in my life, and it is rare to encounter a leasing specialist like Shanice - who is truly a step ahead on the details and provides such an overwhelmingly positive experience. I've had a rambling list of questions, and she has put me at ease with her patience and with each answer (via email, phone, and in-person; excellent communication). I honestly feel comfort in knowing that Shanice and Jackie are on staff at M Lofts. I can tell they care, and it makes me feel at home.

I'll start this off by saying I'm so sad I had to move out, but it had to be done. Thankfully, one…read moreof my friends was able to apply and was approved for my place, so I'll definitely be back around to use the pool (pending on how things are with this whole pandemic situation). There were lots of perks which include the aforementioned pool, a parking garage, a decently sized garage storage unit, very quiet and peaceful complex, friendly neighbors, a location walkable to downtown Culver (with good food, drinks, and the ever so loved Trader Joe's), and lastly, a rare perk... a helpful building manager. He's very attentive to the community within the complex as well as outside the complex, which proved to be a great source of unique information. He was very responsive to any questions you might have and would also help with any work order requests if needed. Which another convenience that I liked with the building, is that the management company utilizes an online portal for work order submissions and to also manage any auto-payments, etc. My only comments would be that parking for guests can be a bit tricky, but welcome to LA! And the washing machines & driers only take quarters, which I think they are on the cusp of updating so that'd be good. Otherwise, it was a beloved place of mine and wish I could've stayed longer.

Building manager sends way too many passive aggressive emails, almost 30 emails in March 2020 alone, and every thing was our fault according to him. Building is shabby, walkways have termite damage, pool looks dirty and is not heated and gets very little sun. Chairs and patio furniture at the pool are also very old and dirty. Maintenance requests take multiple follow ups and then vendors only show up 50% of the time. Every season there is a stink bug infestation. Had to leave this awesome location after living there 8 years because I couldn't take it anymore. To be honest, the building manager Eliot was insufferable and he abuses the building email list to promote himself politically, his business ventures, and he would not shut up about starry internet (apparently they paid him to promote to the tenants). He even asked us during covid to if we would be interested in having a promotional in person gathering for starry internet. If you live in one of the lofts, prepare to boil in the loft all summer. The air conditioner barely makes a dent even when on full blast. I'd think twice before living here. Tenants hate Eliot and refer to his emails as "screamails." These other reviews don't seem legit, sorry to say. And, don't even get me started in the multiple break ins and theft in the building. You are guaranteed to have missing packages and your car has a high chance of getting its window smashed. Someone's motorcycle was even stolen. The security in this building is a joke. The only benefit is the building's location relative to downtown culver. Although, with the expo line expansion, traffic on the cross street is jammed up most weekdays during commuting times and street parking is an absolute nightmare. A while back someone committed suicide in the building and most recently a tenant was walking around the building maskless, pantless, saying that he was fighting the devil. That was the last straw for me. Just saying...

So far, I've been living here for about 5 months and…read moreeverything is great. 1 bedroom is a good size and I like many of the amenities that the building provides, gym, Luxor packaging, and pool. Management team have made my living here easy and have answered my few concerns when brought up. I'm easy going so I've figured things out myself. Native Angeleno so the amount of people and traffic that other reviewers have indicated is subjective. Like that there are many things to do within walking distance from here: restaurants, movie theaters, and bars. On the first Friday of every month there is a large market on the grassy lawn where small businesses showcase their goods. Also, various food trucks show up throughout the week so I get to try different things throughout the week. In all, solid place to live.

I'm on the 5th floor and not facing any of the streets, so my review is solely based on that: I've…read morebeen a resident here for about a year and it's mostly great. The good: there are (almost) monthly events for residents where you can grab free food and drinks, it's super close to Downtown Culver City, and management is super responsive to maintenance requests. The bad: the lounge with the vinyl player has not worked a single time, the 3 BBQ grills have gone from all working to only 1 (fully) working, and the parking situation is mildly annoying. The apartment is extremely dog friendly, they offer free parking validations for your guests/visitors, and it's a very safe area with patrolling security guards. There are events on the front lawn all the time and I'm glad I moved here!
