I lived in Austin Midtown (Anderson/Burnet area) for a year...mainly because I loved the location. It allowed me the affordability of walking to the Drafthouse, WalMart, Hopdoddy, my church...everywhere! But...beware of these old apartments. Their remodeling was basically just putting lipstick on and calling them fixed. We got roaches. Bad. Check out my review on their page detailing what happened with the leasing office etc. Oh, I am not a messy or dirty human being. I put food in tight containers, I don't leave any food on the counter or stove. I don't leave dirty dishes in the sink. I've NEVER lived with roaches like this. Disgusting. (Which made it even that much more insulting when the leasing office implied that it must be the way in which my roommate and I lived since none of our neighbors had reported a problem.) Austin Midtown had their pest control company come out multiple times to spray our entire place - and nothing was changing. Despite emptying out all the cabinets, ALL the cabinets, egg sacks were still being found and each morning we would kill more roaches. I contacted Vector 1 to tell them about what was going on (because the leasing office at Austin Midtown didn't have the same sense of urgency as I did about wanting this gross-ness out of my living space). Vector 1 came to my apartment the next day. Stacey was a life saver. He located a couple holes on the outside of the building where the roaches could be flying in. He also knew exactly what species of roach he was looking at when I showed him a few we had killed. Talk about knowing your work - most exterminators wouldn't bother to know the difference between the different species. Well, it is important because you treat for different species differently. Stacey moved the stove away from the wall (which I doubt the previous company had done since doing so revealed a whole new world of gross creepy crawlers), and treated back there. I didn't know that most exterminators won't move big appliances like that to treat. Boy was I glad that he did! He went above and beyond in treating the rest of my apartment, laying out traps and checking EVERY last nook and cranny and finally making it so we had no more issues with those nasty little buggers. read more

He was under the house for so long making so much noise that we thought for sure we must be infested, but it turns out he was just being very thorough and was honest enough to tell us he couldn't find any active termites therefore we didn't need treatment. Greg from Vector 1 did the initial termite inspection on my new home during the main home inspection. He was very thorough and then he explained what he was looking for, how he identifies trouble spots, areas that need special attention etc. He explained how termites can be treated and different preventative measures. I never felt like I was being pushed into something I didn't need, rather, I felt more educated. Once the sale was complete, I asked Vector 1 to come out and do the preventative treatment. Again, he explained what he was going to do, how each element works to prevent termites, and what I should look for. He explained swarming activity and how to distinguish between flying ants and termites. All stuff I never had to deal with before. He also took care of a fire ant mound and wasp nest while he was there (but I didn't see it included in the bill- that was really nice of him). Wow, after all the great reviews I was excited (well, as excited a you can be to use a pest control service- lol) to use Vector 1 to come out and perform pest control services to get rid of sugar ants that had gotten into my kitchen, and do a yard treatment as well for some bees in the backyard at my home in Round Rock. I submitted a request online being very specific about my needs and location on their website which promised a response within 24 hours when submitted on a business day- I submitted the request on a Monday morning over one week ago so given 5 business days and a service request and a phone call, I got nothing back- at all. Very disappointed at lack of customer service! Guess I'm back on the hunt gor a good pest control service in the RR area. read more

We just moved to Round Rock from Tulsa. I read the great reviews about Vector 1 and thought we'd give them a try at our new home. 1st call: They were friendly and scheduled a visit on a Saturday afternoon. We waited around all day and no one ever showed up. 2nd call: They apologized for not coming out. They lost our address AND our phone number. (not very professional). We thought we'd give them another shot because we understand accidents happen. They were scheduled to come out last Thursday afternoon. They were a no show ... again. There won't be a 3rd call. I'm disappointed and amazed by the lack of professionalism. I don't know how this company stays in business if this is how they treat potential customers. read more

Let me start by saying I wanted to like this company, I was having a problem with mice in the house, they came out gave me a free estimate, 3 days later I had them come out and perform inside service and install outside rodent stations, after that is when the nightmare began, I called them as problem got worse, scheduled a appointment, no one showed up or called, owner calls following Monday and we reschedule, they come out and refill stations, tell my wife they have to rethink how to trap the mice as inside stations aren't catching any and now one has chewed through base board into wall...that was in July, haven't had a email or call returned, they were supposed to come back once a month to refill outside rodent stations, here it is end of September and no one has come out or returned a phone call....I basically threw away $400.00 with Vector 1 read more

We called Vector 1 after my husband tore down half of our back wall thinking he could get rid of our termite infestation himself. (This whole tearing apart your house bit is not necessary by the way, the termites do enough damage we don't need to help them out.) When we saw the extent of our infestation we knew we needed help and jumped on Yelp to see who the best pest control company to help us would be. Vector 1 had the best reviews so we called them. This was the best thing we could have done. Even though this is swarming season and the termites are trying literally eat this town out of house and home, they were so nice and responsive and eager to help us. Greg came out a couple days later to assess and give us our free estimate. I was so scared about how much this was going to cost us! The price was so incredibly reasonable that I almost cried. Our infestation was not a little one and I was preparing myself for a bill well over $1000. It was less than half that. So, not only did it not break the bank, but they were so nice and normal and put us at ease. I enjoyed every interaction I had with this company and cannot say enough nice things about these guys. A tenant was hearing scratching in the walls at a rental home so I called Vector 1 to inspect the problem. It was a bad rat infestation. The rats were getting in through the weak seals on the roof vents. Anthony quoted the job for exclusion work to seal all entry points and for trapping and removing all rats. My tenant said he was very courteous and thorough. He also sent me updates via email on how the trappings were going and I am very pleased with their work. This company is unreliable and I wouldn't use them. They told me someone would come by at 4:00 p.m. At 4:30 they called and said he was running late. Then they tried to tell me it was raining and they couldn't treat in the rain. There was no rain at my house, so it was a terrible excuse. I have never had such a friendly serviceman! But the work he does is the best I have ever had!! He services both my home and lake home. I have had two other exterminators at my lake house who have attempted to get rid of all of the bugs, scorpions, and spiders, but not until Wes arrived did they disappear. Do NOT use Orkin or any of those other big time pest control companies. Vector 1 has been servicing our home for 3 years and I have absolutely no complaints about Stacy and the work he does. They service once a quarter and don't lock you into any dumb contract like Orkin does. It's usually around $80 for a standard treatment. I know my sister has used Stacy a lot for their never-ending mouse problem in the attic, and he has gone so far above and beyond what we would expect. One thing I'm always impressed with is that if you call him with an issue, he'll probably come out and treat it for free, since you already paid for his services at the quarterly treatment. I had Gregg come out and do a pre-home sale inspection. I am using a VA loan and in order to even get approved, all termite issues must be cleared or there will be no sale. He was professional and took the time to explain the different work required to me. Even telling me before hand where the holes would have to be drilled to treat the extended porch add-on from the previous owner. I woke up one morning to a truly horrifying situation - there was a small mud bump that had emerged from the corner of my bathroom overnight, and there were termites POURING out of it. They weren't very mobile and were mostly confined to the tub, but that didn't stop me from barricading the door and calling every termite treating company in a 20 mile radius. After comparing a lot of companies and having numerous people come out to give a look, explain their plan of treatment, and what kind of benefits they offered, we went with Vector 1 and it has been amazing the entire way. I'll summarize all the things that made us pick Stacey over anyone else, and why I would recommend him to anyone. 1. Returned call promptly, came out within days for a free estimate (it was the weekend.) 2. Rate was reasonable and lower than every other major company's for the same warranty and treatment! 3. Explained everything very clearly and was patient with all our questions and concerns. Some other companies seemed to be reading from a script and gave short, irritated answers. 4. Plan of treatment was whole house barrier + spot treatment. Recommended that we also spot treat the second bathroom, which NOBODY else mentioned. There ended up being termites there too!! 5. Was able to treat THE SAME DAY jkglsdjf 6. It rained the night after the treatment. Torrential rain. I called timidly ready to ask him for another treatment to make sure that the termidor barrier treatment hadn't washed away. He was SO nice and agreed to come out and redo the barrier treatment the next dry week we had. We had to reschedule because of rain again, and he was completely okay with it even though we were being kind of needy. 7. He even offered to caulk the hole that was made by the termites coming out. We didn't ask. He just looked at the sad little hole and asked nicely if we would like him to take care of it. The entire process was so painfree and great that it was almost surreal. 20.5 stars. read more

Having recently moved to Texas from California about a year ago, I didn't know who to call when we discovered fire ants inside of our house. I haphazardly called a company other than Vector 1. When we moved into a new home and heard rodents in our attic, I spoke with the company who had helped us with our pest control issues before. They weren't very impressive but I didn't really know who else to call. So, they sent a salesman out. A SALESMAN! He climbed up our attic stairs and poked his head in. He confirmed I indeed had rats in the attic. Hmm. That's funny because he didn't even go in there. He made me SIGN 3 different pieces of paper. There was a lot of paper signing and the salesman felt really pushy. He didn't take much time trying to figure out if there were rats up there and quoted me upwards of $800 to seal up the attic and put traps out. Something didn't feel right. I needed a second opinion. I remember my friend recommending Stacey at Vector 1, so I decided to give him a call. I am SO glad I did. He came out the following Saturday to take a look. He spent a good 30 mins up there looking around & confirmed that there were fresh droppings and found exposed electrical wires; a dangerous fire hazard! He gave me a quote that was about $200 less. I really loved how Stacey himself came to check things out- not a salesman on commission. I especially loved how it was he who showed up at my home to preform the work! Of course, with a successful business with great service, he needs employees. However, he isn't afraid to go in elbow deep himself. He did a great job on the house and his employee, Warren was clean, polite, respectful, and professional! Warren came back to clean up the traps and was quick and non-intrusive (I mention that because we had a service man with that other company come by and he got a little too friendly with my kids).
