I was greeted upon entering. Staff asked if they could help me find things. Well, wasn't I surprised when I didn't see any birds. This small shop sold bird food and accessories only. Well drat. They do have a nice variety of food options (found a couple goodies my little hunter will absolutely demolish), but the toy selection was kinda meh. Lots of catnip stuff... which is great if your cat is into that, but mine prefers to straight-up destroy anything already, can't imagine her on the nip just yet. I was hoping for more durable, non-catnip, "won't be shredded in 4 minutes" options. Found a couple things that might survive her wrath, with a few removal of smaller pieces, so we'll see. Overall, good spot, friendly enough, worth popping into if you're nearby, but not quite the specialty treasure trove I had in mind. I'll be back... just not, like, weekly.

As a human who sees a Naturopathic Doc AND a regular Doc, I was curious what a local natural pet food store would suggest. I called and had the good fortune that Martha picked up the phone! When this woman heard about my cat's diagnosis, she launched into a mini tutorial about Feline Chronic Kidney Disease. She must've spent 20 minutes on the phone with me, obviously passionate and knowledgeable about animals. She told me she had created a "cheat sheet" of sorts that I could get a copy of: it lists all the brands of food from the lowest phosphorus content to the highest. Knowing more about this my cats illness eased my worries. Once I got to NB, I learned they carried, Daves & Weruva's, both good for Renal Diets. Then I learned that Martha is one of the owners and was so touched at how much time she spent with me on the phone. So kind! She's the real deal about caring about your pets/fur babies. NB gave me a copy of the Cheat Sheet that lists/compared most all the Feline Chronic Kidney Disease wet food. Thank y'all so much for the guidance! P.S. They have an abundance of fun toys, beds, water fountains, treats, etc. for cats & dogs!

Petco is a little far for me as far as driving but I saw they had a lot of deals if you shop online so I'll definitely be checking that out! I was grateful for that! They had what I needed and despite a bit of a glitch at the cash register, my experience was positive. The layout of the store is a bit different than some of the others I've been in, (and as others have said, the store is a bit messy), but the staff was helpful and all things considered, my experience was good. Customer service is always at 100%; employees show care, look genuinely happy to be there, give great advice about the dog food, and they always offer to carry your items to your car. I took my golden retriever for her scheduled grooming appointment at 3 pm today. I work 7 days a…read moreweek and took work off to make sure I was able to take her in. I went in to my appointment at Petsmart Phoenix (Camelback Collinade) a few minutes ahead of my appointment time. The available girl at the counter offered to check me in for the service, but the woman who said she was doing the service insisted on checking me in. I had to wait a couple minutes until she finished grooming the dog on the table before she came over. She comes over the counter and asked how I would like her hair cut. I told her we like it short, and that was it. Instead of taking my dog, she starts trying to find any sort of matting or issue she can. She literally pat every square inch of my dog until she said "I cannot complete the service in time because her butt is too matted and the appointment is only 3 hours." I groom my dog every 3-4 months (mostly at petsmart since she was a puppy and she's almost 7),and I have never heard this. I asked if we could do the best we could, still bath and trim her body, etc (trying to come up with a solution since I took the day off for this and don't have a day off for 3 weeks). She said no. Every option I asked she said no. She then said "I called you yesterday to see if you would move the appointment to 2:30 but you didn't respond." I was at work. She made it seem like this was my fault when I made an appointment for 3 and came at 3. She was reluctant to grab a manager when I asked for a second opinion or clarification. When the manager came, I asked again if we could still trim her and if her butt is matted I can take her back in in about a month for a service for that. He agreed, but the groomer AGAIN tried to protest. In my opinion, it seemed like she was eager to get out of there and didn't want to stay to work. She instantly found a reason for me to reschedule when there was not one. She fought back when a manager agreed to bathe and trim my dog. Now I took an entire day off of work to make sure my dog was taken care of and they could not even trim her nails that are too long. I'm so angry and frustrated by my experience after being a loyal customer of 6 years. Not once has anyone denied her service or fully "inspected her" upon arrival. I take her 4+ times a year but after the way I was treated, I don't think I will shop petsmart or any of its services again (including Banfield for vet services). I attached photos of my apparently neglected golden retriever who cannot get a haircut. Aurora at Petsmart 1949 E Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ was the groomer.
