We live few block away from Vasili's so that's been a nice restaurant to walk to with our boys in weekends. We made reservation for Valentine's Day dinner on January 10th, being the boys favorite restaurant. Well our Valentine's Day dinner had a very bad turn of events. We arrived at the restaurant 5:20 pm and I asked if it's possible to have a high top table, we've been told very cold that our reservation is 10 min away and they will see what they can do then . In about 5 min we have been approached and told that they can only seat us at this table for 4 or we can wait 30-40 min for a high top table . The table that was offered to us was placed extra right near the desk reception , few feet way, against a wall with shelfs that was holding takeout bags, behind the desk , our direct view, you could see a lot of bags a e very dirty floor & door. Of course we didn't want to seat there and we decided to wait for another table. We waited until 5:55pm . In this time there were seated 3 table for 4 . When we finally approached the manager asking why we are not seated , having available tables , he simply said " you gave up your table and you need to wait". Of course we left , I was in tears, I couldn't believe our special night was ruined. Our special Valentine's dinner with our boys was ruined by this manager who simply acted like " my way or the highway ". It was devastating for my kids, specially for my autistic son . The hostess were seeing me comforting my crying son . I could definitely understand the need for extra tables for a very busy special night, but that manager should learn how to please customers and make them feel welcome , especially when it is a holiday special evening, and when definitely a reservation was made 5 weeks in advance and tables are available. My takeout is , will never return to this restaurant. You should think more when you make a reservation and maybe take your business elsewhere, we have so many restaurants in our downtown Naperville. This restaurant is amazing ! I would easily give it 5 stars. DELICIOUS food, excellent wait staff, beautiful interior decor, nice ambiance, clean restrooms, and I love the style of crockery as well. The food was served quickly after ordering. The flavors were excellent and I could tell that high quality ingredients were used. I love this place! I had the hummus with pita, sourdough bread, broccolini, roasted potatoes and the chicken souvlaki. Everything I tasted was excellent. Well done, Vasili's! Thank you for a great meal! read more

My friend reserved a table to celebrate the birthday and i was so happy for the whole experience! How we were greeted and to our luck we got Adams table. Adam was knowledgeable and took a great care helping us with the selection of drinks, apetizers, dinner and dessert! Everything we tried was delicious read more

Called to order carryout at 7:25 and was told the kitchen was running behind, so food wouldn't be ready until 8:15-8:20, which was fine. Got there to pick it up at 8:15 and food was at the counter, not being kept warm. Got home with it in less than 5 minutes and discovered everything was at room temperature, so clearly the food had been ready long before the time they told us. They should have called to say it would be ready earlier than expected, but didn't. We won't be back read more

We were asked to leave because they have another reservation. It wasn't a problem, if they initial informed us that we only have the right to stay for 2 hours, when we did the reservation. read more

This was absolutely wonderful. We decided last minute and oh boy was it worth it. Everything from the appetizer to the dessert was on point. My favorite was the lamb chops and banana creme dessert. The waitress was wonderful and she helped us select our order. Will be going again hopefully. P.s for those looking for halal options their lambs chops are a good choice. read more

Absolutely amazing bartender, Omar!! He is so kind and recommended great drinks and dessert!! Thank you for an awesome experience!

After reading my review, the owner invited me back for a complimentary gyro. The food was as good as before and the service was exemplary. Even the Cava turned out to be complimentary. When a good business responds to customer issues or simple matters of personal taste, it becomes an even better business. I'll be back - maybe for some kind of wood-fired seafood. read more

We had a fantastic experience! Staff was very friendly and service was efficient. There's great outdoor seating as well, shaded with good ambiance. All the food was excellent, including appetizers, entrees, and dessert. read more

The atmosphere in this restaurant is truly exquisite. Service was great and the food was amazing. We went for a Sunday brunch and ordered the vegetable chips as an appetizer, which were very good. For our entrees we ordered lunch gyros and the lox platter. They were both very good and portion sizes were more than enough. One of our favorite Mediterranean places we've been to! read more

I am not one to write bad reviews but I have not had a worse dining experience before. After having a 230 pm reservation, our waiter did not take our meal order for 45 min. After asking for someone to take our order, we were told the kitchen was closed. Management was apologetic but we were told there was nothing they could do but for us to wait for the kitchen to reopen (something that can't happen with a one year old). Disappointing as we enjoyed dining here but after this experience, we will not be back. read more

Celebrated a bday with dinner at Vasilli's at their beautiful captains table The design inside is gorgeous Food is delicious & service impeccable Careen was put server . She took care of our party of 8 including our grandson in highchair Her hospitality was one of best I've seen (we all frequent many establishments ) it felt was as if we were at a dinner party at her home with the level of personal attention , suggestions, accommodating a food allergy, Getting dinner for the baby out sooner .. chef Jason made a few specialities for us All delicious Careen made the evening so extra special She's a great asset to them ! I would give her 6 stars if I could It's the Perfect spot -we will be back !! read more

the food and service was excellent but we had a shocking surprise at the end with the check where we were charged $205 for the wine bottle and we were expecting $45 wine bottle.... Our mistake we didn't pay attention to the wine name we ordered... but we were asking for the wine listed on a first line and got a wine listed on a second line... just a bad aftertaste after our first visit.... read more

Overpriced for what you get. My wife liked the gyro, but my fish was no good. There are better choices at this price point.

This is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is amazing, I have tried everything on the menu and love it all. The service is so great (my favorite waiter is Corrine). The dining room is beautiful and outdoor seating just as lovely especially when it's a bit cooler outside and we utilize the cute heaters. I try to eat at Vasili's once a month, that's my goal! I just love it! Going to try to get a reservation now, fingers crossed... read more

Amazing Mediterranean food, highly recommended to everyone with all food interest. Our favorite restaurant in Naperville

Was my first time at this place... And let me tell you , it just perfection, from the food to drinks to service . Our server Darwin was 11 out of 10, made our time pleasant. Whatever I was sipping as suggestion of Darwin's was exactly what I like and if I could I would get 10 of these coctails so big shout out to bartender of the day as well. Thank you Vasili's team. Will be looking forward seeing you soon ! read more

I have been here for lunch several times with my husband. Always delicious! Went to dinner with a friend and was not disappointed. We had reservations but opted for a table in the bar area. Service, food. Drinks were all excellent. Will definitely be back. read more

Soooo good!! Food has been amazing every time we have been there. Always busy! Can't wait for the summer outdoor seating.

The dessert, Chocolate Olive Oil Cake, was conveniently the perfect amount for two ladies. The presentation had us diving in right away! The ice cream topping to the cake was delicious and creamy. The cake was a bit dry, so you definitely couldn't have it alone. We recommend this dessert!! read more

If you're a foodie, Vasili's could be your next favorite place to dine. I enjoyed flavor combinations that I would never have thought of, especially in the Chinese Eggplant dish--yum! We also shared the lamb skewers with a tasty Tzatziki sauce and cucumber salad on the side. Our server was Christopher, who is knowledgeable, attentive, and fun. Vasili's is perfect for a fun night out with friends or a date. Enjoy! read more

My favorite sit down meal in Naperville. The menu has so much to choose from and the staff are great! The wine list is even great!

great all around. Careen did a great job taking care of us and we are high maintenance. We ordered several dishes to try to place out and between the two of us we sampled eight different items from the Brunch menu. the food was delicious, Bar service was definitely fantastic and as much as they were short staffed we were very well taken care of. This is my second good review in 2021. my favorite Mediterranean spot in 2021, but as much the quality of food and atmosphere Matters majority of credit always goes to service an attitude. GREAT WORK!! read more

Excellent experience! Angel and the other bartender (forgive me for forgetting your name), along with the GM, all excellent! Such great customer service. I ordered a mojito and Angel made me a blackberry one, which was fantastic! Dinner and dessert was perfect! My daughter and I had a really nice time! Good food. Great service by Garrett. The Lamb Kleftiko is great. Vasili Chips is a must!

beautiful interior alongside fantastic food and drinks, but what really inclined me to write this review is how AMAZING the staff is. The manager Jeff is one of the most wholesome humans i've ever met who truly cares about his guests. Highly recommend read more

We came here for the first time and we're absolutely blown away. Arrived a little early for our reservation on a busy Saturday night and were seated right away. Our waiter Angel went above and beyond! His recommendations were great. We started with the fig old fashions, the roasted beat salad and saganaki. My husband doesn't even like beats and he couldn't stop eating them. For dinner we had the octopus and a pork chop special. Everything comes right off the grill and has an incredible smoky taste without being overwhelming. Both dishes were cooked perfectly. The octopus had an delicious garlic aoli. The pork chop came with the most delicious polenta I've ever eaten and grilled peaches which I am going to try to duplicate at home. For dessert we had the banana napoleon and the baklava cannoli. All the food was fantastic! But the best part is the atmosphere. We noticed that many people came in and greeted the staff with hugs. By the end of the night my husband was taking selfies with Angel our waiter. We can wait to come back. It's a great place for a celebratory dinner with friends. A fun vibe. Not very quiet if that's what your looking for. I also recommend making a reservation. They were packed! read more

We live in Naperville and this is our #1 spot for special dinners, fun at the bar and casual pop ins. Adam is a superstar! The bartenders are fantastic. More importantly, the quality of food and service is absolutely unmatched. This restaurant can be in LA, NY, Vegas and would hold its own; that's how good it is. Come see them! read more

Such a great place, My wife and I are there about once a month and we try new things on the menu each time. Make sure to get the Vasili's chips for an app! The staff is one of the reasons we love this place as well. So welcoming and knowledgeable. We first met one of the folks on the staff, Angel at another local place after his shift and he was such a wonderful guy. He told me a number of things to try including the octopus on the menu. Highly recommend it now. We look for Angel each time we're there, super good guy.. Corina is another amazing server talent there. So upbeat and helpful. The experience is that much better because of Angel and Caroline. Say hi to them when you're there! read more

The food was great and the service was wonderful. The reason the overall experience was not excellent was because when we received the bill, the added charges were ridiculous. We were charged $2 extra for pita bread when we ordered a "spreadable". The waitress asked if we'd like more pita bread to finish the trio of dips we purchased. We were not asked, "would you like to purchase more bread?" This was an odd and unexpected "add-on." The more ridiculous add-on was to my dirty martini. While being told about the different cocktails, the waitress then said, or we can do a dirty martini. I thought it sounded wonderful (it was), and then she said...we have great feta olives with that. The bill came and I saw that a $14 martini was now $15 because I was charged $1 for two very small feta olives. Sad. It was a nice experience until you look at the bill and see the unexpected "extras". read more

We had a great experience eating at Vasili's. We had the Saganaki, Lamb Souvlaki, and Lamb meatballs and everything tastes amazing! Our waiter, Angelo, was very friendly and even gave us a complimentary Strawberry Hibiscus Sorbet, which was very refreshing. The ambience of the restaurant was nice and they had cool decorations. Definitely recommend coming here... we will be back soon! read more

This restaurant has gone from a bit overpriced Greek fusion restaurant with some interesting dishes to a full head-on train wreck in only a few short months. Living in Naperville, we have visited the restaurant many times since opening and had been impressed by a few dishes that had some novel Greek flair and were more unique . Last night, our full disappointment was realized - food quality has dropped (2 of 4 meals came to the table cold), portion size has dropped (octopus half the size), their best recipes have changed or been replaced (new chef?) and the restaurant now is poorly managed and staffed by indifferent, inexperienced and overburdened waitstaff. Prices remain very high for what's offered and the management can't seem to decide if they're running a family Greek place (think their vey popular Gyros plate) or a high-end eatery. After apologizing for the fiasco that was our dining experience, the manager literally told us that it was his last night and that we should come visit him in his new gig! What does that tell you about this place's future? read more

My husband and I went to Vasili's for our anniversary last night and what a perfect evening. First, our server, Heather was AMAZING! She did not miss a beat. She is incredibly knowledgeable on the menu, wine and was a lot of fun. She makes her job look easy as we know it is not. The kitchen was spot on too. We ordered the beet salad, the mussels, cod, pastitsio, and the octopodi. Everything was beautifully plated and absolutely perfect. A shout out to the bartender too as we had the old FIG-shioned.
