Shahirizada Restaurant features the cuisine of Uzbekistan. They are located at the end of a large strip mall with plenty of parking. We wanted to try something different and this place surprised & provides an excellent experience! You are welcomed the minute you enter and seated at spacious tables. Wait staff comes right away to help with any questions you might have about the food. The items are all made by hand everyday and are all amazing!!! Fresh baked warm bread comes to the table and you know it's amazing!! The serve ware china they use is different than other places and makes the meal more special. Akbar our server was very helpful in suggesting items. All food is halal too! We ordered the signature Shahirizada salad which came on a huge plate filled with fresh vegetables, avocado, chilled fried eggplant pieces and a nice dressing that was excellent. The Manti as they are called are huge hand rolled ravioli filled with meat & onions with a very light sauce and was delicious! The chicken Tabaka was a made to order whole roasted (tasted broasted) chicken. It takes a bit more time but is well worth the wait! Sam the owner was going around to every table making sure everyone was satisfied with their meal. This is a very nice place for any occasion, items for everyone, spacious even including a party area. Portions are generous and prices are very affordable! We would love to come back and try the soups, kabobs and traditional wedding plov!

This is my third time trying Central Asian cuisine. It's located across the street from the AMC movie theater. Parking lot is kind of rough to drive through. The restaurant was busy, that's a good sign. Service was attentive, they came by often. We ordered bread, fried manti with meat, wedding plov, kavurma lagman (beef), and lulya skewer (ground beef). Food came out fast. Overall, it's a 4 out of 5. They just need to not overcook the meat for the wedding plov and lagman and make the skewers come in pairs. It's expensive for one skewer. -Bread 5 - The bread was warm and soft, honestly I could eat a lot of this but I wanted to save room for the main courses. -Fried manti 5 - I loved these dumplings. Very succulent and the chopped lamb/onions were cooked perfectly. Make sure you pour some of the red sauce on your dumplings for additional flavor. -Wedding plov 4 - this is a great dish but I wished the beef and lamb were more tender, I found some of the beef pieces to be too tough and chewy. Medium rare to medium would be excellent. The rice texture is different from Asian style or even Latin. -Kavurma lagman 4 - another good dish but again the meat could be cooked less so that the meat is not chewy. If they fixed the meat, this would be an easy 5 star review. -Lulya skewer 4.5 - don't skip out on the skewers. Honestly, I wished I had ordered more. The ground beef was very juicy. Price is kind of expensive for one skewer, I wished it came in pairs.

In recent times, 2 Uzbek restaurants have opened near Stately Breakwind Manor. As I know diddly-squat about Uzbeki cuisine, these places have held considerable interest for me. The restaurants, Milliy and Shahirizada have been favorably reviewed, and as Shahirizada here seems to have a higher rating here than Milliy, I made it my destination for a recent dinner. In a strip mall location, the room is moderately upscale, but friendly in atmosphere. It seemed like a lot of folks were working there. I was kind-of given the side-eye as I entered, and received a tentative smile from the host who seated me. There were more than few families having dinner and what I could hear through the murmur was not English, so I assumed these were Uzbeki folks. I believe I was the only "westerner" on the premises. There was Uzbeki pop music playing-always a good sign! I had viewed the online menu and consulted the Yelps before my visit, so I pretty much knew what I was going to order, pending any specials or changes to the menu when I arrived. The menu is straightforward, with acceptable explanations of each dish. In my pre-prandial reconnoiter, I learned of a few "National Dishes", and that's where I went. "Manti" were listed as "fried dumplings" and anything yclept as such will always be a shoo-in order. I opted for the Beef version as hors d'oeuvre. I had had much rice in the previous nights dinner, so I skipped the Plov and went for "Kavurma Lagman" as entrée. The Yelps here advise to "always get a kebab", so I ordered the lamb. The waitress apparently did not have a firm command of English, but was nonetheless pleasant, if not apprehensive. She asked if I wanted "Bread", then qualified "Uzbeki Bread?" in a quisitive manner. Perfect! I replied. The rest of the order was taken quickly, I must have pronounced everything correctly. Everything kind of came at once, and the portions were ample-it looked like I had a trencherman's feast in front of me. The bread was a round loaf, with a central ornamental indentation. It was hearty and a bit dense, but fine tasting with some butter. The Lamb Kebab was served on a wooden plank. A hefty silver flat spit held about 5-6 nice chunks of lamb which appeared char-broiled, with a pile of herbed raw onions adjacent. Right up my alley! The Lamb and Onions were superb. Butter-tender and tasty. Easily the equal of any Lamb I had been served at fine Greek restos. The Manti (dumplings) were large and contained a beef and onion mix where onion was the dominant flavor. I was struck by an immediate familiarity, and it took a few moments but I had a slight shudder when I identified it. White Castles. That's not perjorative-that beef/onion interface has been a favorite flavor of mine forever. In this instance, the quality was far beyond 'hamburger stand", and I enjoyed 2 of the large dumplings. There was a small ramekin of red sauce that tasted like Tomato Juice. It was very thin in consistency. Perhaps it WAS tomato juice. I applied some to the Manti, but it didn't really add to the flavor. The Lagman consisted of thick noodles and shredded beef plus sauteed onions with a crown of scrambled egg. There was evidence of a brown sauce. The dish is stated to contain "oriental spices", but the dominant flavor was "soy sauce" or perhaps "Maggi". Maybe the Chef is considering those condiments "oriental spice". I couldn't discern anything further. The beef was well-done yet tender, the sign of good quality meat. The noodles were long and hearty. I could see the dish was well-prepared and the ingredients were fresh, but somehow I just didn't care for it. It was kind of dull. Maybe I was looking for a flavor explosion, and got a well-prepared, but plainly flavored dish. Sometimes that dilemma appears. You order something and: You Just. Don't. Care for it. It wasn't bad, mind you, it just didn't captivate me. I ate about half of it, and took the rest home. I had it for breakfast today, and it still didn't move me. The leftover Manti, however were just as tasty as the other day. I ordered the Baklava to go, and they were a bit different than the Greek dessert I know and love. Three small squares, not as syrup-laden as the Greek specimen, with a single layer of nuts. The bottom layer was almost like a custard. Delicious with coffee. Before I left, what appeared as the Manager came over to me and asked if all was well-she spoke perfect English. Throwing 4 because the Lamb was superb, and all else excepting the Lagman was pretty good, indeed. I'll be back, but the focus will be on those Kebabs...

I love Shahirazada, an Uzbek restaurant in Naperville along Route 59! It's not everyday that you see a restaurant that features Central Asian cuisine, let alone one that serves Uzbek food. When it first opened, my husband and I were excited to try it. We both love lamb and dumplings, and I had traveled to a neighboring country (Kyrgyzstan) a long time ago, so I was excited to taste some really good meat, bread, and noodles, etc. The first time, we dined in and ordered a feast for two: kavurma lagman (noodles with meat) lamb shish kebab, served with sliced red onion shahirazada salad 2 samsas (pumpkin and meat) bread (served as a circular disk that you can tear apart to have with your meal) fried manti, 4 pcs The food was served fresh and the lamb meat on the kebab was so tender. My husband's favorite was the fried manti, like fried dumplings stuffed with spiced lamb. I also really loved the meat samsa (like a pastry bao filled with similar spiced meat/lamb) almost as much as the lamb kebab. I'd recommend any/all of their kebabs. If they prepare and season all of their kebabs with the same care and served it with the same freshness as the day we dined in, you cannot go wrong with any of their kebabs. I think all their meat is halal, or they might have halal options. I'd check with the restaurant to confirm. Their prices are amazing for the food you will get, fresh, quality, with a white tablecloth setting. We loved our food so much we ordered takeout a few weeks later (our second time) and tried their wedding plov, more kebabs, steamed manti, and their beautiful housemade bread. If you love biryani or stewed meats with flavorful rice, you will love the plov; it was incredible. I did enjoy the fried manti more than the steamed manti. If you are ordering over the phone, I'd suggest clarifying which type of manti you'd like. I imagine the fried manti is best served dining in, but then again I haven't ordered the fried manti for carry out. I highly recommend Shahirazada, especially if you haven't had Uzbek food before, it's a great introduction to all of their dishes. Meat lovers, this place is for you, especially if you love lamb. We'd love to become regulars someday. An easy five stars.

Had been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile. Never had Uzbek cuisine so finally made a trip on a Sunday afternoon. Started with a small mixed salad, wedding Plov & an order of grilled wings. Everything was delicious Portions very generous (had to pack rest to go) service friendly & efficient. Sunday patrons were mostly family or small groups but that didn't hinder me from dining solo. Definitely will make another trip to try other items on the menu. Glad I made the trip & my appetite was happy as well.

Can't wait to bring our family here to try everything! We had the wedding plov, 3 different meat kebabs, mushroom and potato dish, Samsa with meat. All were delicious!

Food is all cooked fresh and prepared in a timely manner. Waiters and waitresses are very polite and friendly. Very well decorated environment with a quiet setting as well as classical music in the background. Overall an amazing restaurant.

Our first time trying Uzbek cuisine. We loved it! Whoever your chef was on the evening of 9/28/2024 is a keeper!! This is our new hometown fave! We had the following: Wedding Plov - mix of tender shredded meats over rice. The broth that seeped onto the rice worked so well. Beef kebab - moist and delicious. Salmon kebab - excellent!! It was perfectly cooked! So moist, tender and seasoned well. Best salmon I've had in a long time. Honey cake and vanilla ice cream - can't go wrong with moist yummy cake ala mode. It was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. Everything tasted great!! Portions were just right. Pricing was reasonable. Service was good. I can't wait to go back.

Yet another Uzbek restaurant in Chicagoland! Central Asian cuisine is awesome. We went to Shahirizada for lunch on a Sunday. The parking lot has ample space, but it's in really bad shape. Lots of big potholes. Not the restaurant's fault, but it's a shame. The interior of the restaurant is large. It feels upscale, but nothing too exciting as far as decor. It could have used more Central Asian ornamentation. Service was friendly, and pricing was more reasonable than Milliy. We ordered the shakh salad, a samsa with pumpkin, manti with meat, and kavurma lagman. The shakh salad had fried eggplant, so I was hoping it would be warm like the one at Milliy, but it was a cold salad (including the fried eggplant). Still, it tasted pretty good thanks to the dressing. The samsa with pumpkin was really tasty, with a slight hint of sweetness. The bread was crispy and flaky. The manti was pretty good, too. I'd say it was on par with manti from other restaurants like Chinar and Anjir. The lagman was very good, though the beef was slightly touch. Nicely cooked noodles and ample meat & veggies. Overall, a nice restaurant with good food.

The vibe inside is lowkey but elegant, great for a quiet night out or a new food experience with friends or family. The menu reflects a wide variety of authentic dishes -- some comforting, others bold and new depending on your palate. Pelmeni (dumplings): Very strong in flavor, not what I'm typically used to. The texture might take some getting used to -- I wasn't the biggest fan, but my friend loved it. Plov: So flavorful and hearty -- slightly on the greasy side but still really satisfying. Manty: If you're into juicy, steamed dumplings, this is the move. The spices are deep and warming. Honey Cake: Hands down one of my favorites. Soft, lightly sweet, and melts in your mouth -- definitely a must-try.
