Too pricey for what you get. We visited on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly and someone arrived to take our drink order. I'm gluten free, so I hoped to get a gluten free beer, a hard seltzer or something like a High Noon (vodka with sparkling water). They didn't have any of those. We got the Saganaki which was average size and presented with the flames. People in my party had fish or souvlaki. I decided to eat lighter and ordered the Village Salad. The description says it has tomatoes in it, but it was pretty much all tomatoes. There was some feta but very few kalamata olives. I added shrimp to it which was 3 pieces of medium sized shrimp for $9. Just so not worth it! Everyone at my table had the same reaction to the food as in "why is it so expensive". It was good, but nothing fabulous. FYI the parking situation can be kind of dicey so plan ahead. We tried the garage at Hotel Indigo and there were no spots so we had to cruse around to find some street parking. read more

First time trying and it was absolutely wonderful. Food was so good. My boyfriend and I got Saganki, Gyros, and the Halibut. Our server Ally was amazing and attentive. Can't wait to come back! read more

Fantastic food! Simple, clean and delish. Great cocktails & wine selection. Lovely dining room and patio as well. My only complaint is they are often overcrowded during peak times; and the tables are pushed so close together, it's like dining in downtown NYC. read more

Great location + ambiance, came here for my birthday lunch & I was pleased. Upon arriving (after scheduling a reservation), we were seated immediately & dined in. For an entrée we tried the mussels which were super fresh with a nice quantity. For our main course I tried the Lavarki (Sea bass), & my mom tried the Salmon. Both choices were again super fresh, the only thing I'd do differently for the Lavarki is added a hint of lemon, & more seasoning to make thr fish pop! Lastly, for wine I tried the Cabernet Sauvignon (West African) glass which had a smooth taste but reminded me of Robert Mondavi's selection. Nonetheless, I truly enjoyed my experience & would return to try different dishes they have to offer. Please note before arriving/reserving that this establishment would be considered fine dining so the prices are higher than average. Great choice, fresh food & good service! read more

Everything is absolutely delicious! The htipiti was our favorite spread and had such a unique flavor. The chicken was a little dry but the tzatziki on the side definitely helped. Will be back soon! read more

I recently attended a concert in Naperville and decided to try Vasili's based on Yelp reviews. Since it was a Friday night and we didn't have a reservation, we walked in around 6:30 PM. We were promptly seated, but the table was right at the entrance, which wasn't ideal. I asked the hostess if we could move to one of the other open tables, but she refused rather curtly. Fortunately, our waitress overheard and kindly offered to move us to another table in her section, which was much appreciated. We ordered the dip trio and the lavraki (branzino) with sides of rice and Greek potatoes. The dip trio lacked authenticity and depth of flavor, but the lavraki, stuffed with spinach and feta, was well-seasoned and delicious. The sides were excellent, especially the Greek potatoes. Overall, our server was outstanding and deserved a 5/5. The food was good, but I'd rate it a 4/5. Would I return? Maybe, but given the price point, there are other more authentic options available. read more

Lamb, beef were all very dry. Worse than chain Mediterranean places. Highly recommend going somewhere else

As a Francesca's Fortunato regular, table 32 enjoyed a belly up experience at Vasili in Naperville! Angel was behind the bar and took excellent care of us! Do yourself a favor and stop in for a drink at this bar! read more

Lovely Mediterranean spot in downtown Naperville. Elegant but not showy. Service is impeccable and food is great. We had shrimp skewers and carrots for the table. Everything was perfect. Good wine list and drink menu. read more

Incredible meal and ambiance. The trio of dips - esp the whipped feta with red peppers - were an awesome start and we were so happily surprised they offer tasty GF bread as an option. The Greek salad was delicious with a shockingly large amount of feta on top. Rice pudding was perfect. Our server was lovely and we never felt rushed. Great mock/cocktail options. read more

Good and bad We started with a trio appetizer where you pick 3 of the sauces and it comes with pita bread. They have hummus, a garlic potato mash, fish roe, and a couple more to choose from. The appetizer was really good. It was me and 1 other person and we weren't sure what to order, so we got a sampler platter of meats so we could try them all. It had lamb chops, sausage, lamb shoulder, and a couple other meats. They ask how you want the meat cooked and I said medium rare. When the food came it was more medium well which I wasn't happy about, but what can you do. They would have to start from scratch....I don't want to do that either. I felt their meat platter wasn't very good, so if that represents their finest meats I'd say I'll pass. On top of that the service was pretty bad. The only cool thing about this place is the outdoor seating. They have this plush green carpet outside so you feel like you're in the grass or something. read more

Pleasantly surprised with the great food here! The front desk staff could care less when we walked in. She almost ignored us and when we told her we were meeting some friends who had a table she just looked at us like we spoke a different language! Our server was extremely chirpy, a little too much but she meant well so it's all good. The food was great! We ordered a bunch of dips and the zucchini fries and the salmon! Everything was delicious! Good addition to Naperville. read more

Let's just say this restaurant did not disappoint. From the ambiance to the food, amazing! We had the opportunity to go with a good friend who is Greek and she ordered for us. We had some of the best dishes possible. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. read more

Excellent service, delightful ambiance, and delcious authentic Greek food. The saganaki, hummus, and falafel were all amazing, and my friend enjoyed the gyro as well. Came here last Saturday for brunch with my book club. I really loved the ambience of the restaurant and the food was very tasty. The main issue we had was slooooooooow service. It seemed like there was 1 server for the entire restaurant. I guess they were not prepared for the rush of customers. Some of my favorite dishes were the Turkish eggs, the zucchini/eggplant chips and the avocado toast. For dessert, skip the chocolate olive oil cake, it was so dry and flavorless. Definitely get the banana cream napolean - the combination of banana and caramel is delicious! Overall, food and ambience was great, service was very slow. read more

So delicious! My sister had gotten me amped to try this place and it lived up to my expectations. I got a drink called the Aphrodite that had some sort of grapefruit liquor in it, it was sweet and a little sour I liked it. We all shared appetizers. For the dips we got 2 hummus dips and the potato dip which was basically mashed potatoes. We also got veggies to dip and shared Brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were incredible! Service was great too. We did have to wait about 20 minutes even though we made a reservation, but it was ok. Would totally come back! read more

First visit , our server was great . I really enjoyed the meatballs, but my wife's feta-brined roasted chicken came out dry. The housemade sausage was too salty, and some of my roasted potatoes were burnt. Overall it was decent , we might return if my wife is willing to give it another try. read more

This place is overall quite clean except for the time we went there they were doing construction during a busy dinner rush, which I thought was a bad idea. Most of the food there is not of the healthy variety but it's delicious if enjoy meats of European descent & wonderful variety with a nice complement of beverages in a full liquor bar, but not snooty he could handle your formal party or a casual one. It's a really nice restaurant. For those who, like to do things a little more healthy, they do have a few options, not a whole lot, but this is a delicious place to get European delicacies meats and dishes . Vegetarians you have a few things to get here but this is probably not your place ha ha great staff also. read more

Amazing food and ambiance. Will definitely return! The plates are big enough to be shared and are put together very thoughtfully.

Service: great! Nothing to complain about. Server was very attentive and informative Ambiance: AMAZING very nicely decorated in a modern Mediterranean style. Made me want to press my own olive oil on an island Food: delish! Caesar salad was a non-traditional Caesar and in my opinion, a much better Caesar. The bell peppers and herb topping were perfection. Grilled chicken souvlaki was very tender and the pickled cucumbers and red onion added brightness to the dish. The hummus wasn't anything crazy, but also tasty. read more

Beautiful space, great decor. It was very busy on a a Monday night. We made reservations and probably got one of the worst tables lol but the food was delicious. Definitely expensive. The waiter forgot to put in our drink order so the drinks came after the meal but he made up for it by giving us a free shot. I had the bacalao and it was absolutely amazing! Could have gone for a second serving, lol. read more

What's not to LOVE about VASILIS Naperville? If you're looking for an urban vibe in the west suburbs you've got it right here. Fabulous atmosphere, food and service! Food was delicious. Our waitress was attentive and kind. But it was SO LOUD! I literally could not hear my husband 2 feet across the table. Also 80% of tables are high tops which scream "pub" not expensive, elegant Greek food. I love pubs and pub food, but I picked this place bc I thought it would be elegant, quiet and sophisticated. Not so loud we left after 2 appetizers. I was so disappointed and will not be back. read more

I really enjoyed my dinner at this restaurant. I have to say that the ambiance reminded me of being on vacation. I loved it. The decor was bright and pleasing and the bar a beautiful set up. The bartender served us some amazing cocktails...the Aphrodite was beautiful, sweet and delicate. The Jasen and the argonaut was smooth and sharp and definitely a drink you should sip slowly and enjoy every mouthful. We started our meal with the trio of spreads and pita. The whipped feta and red pepper was my favorite and I could have but the hummus was quite tasty. The third was a bit too fishy and salty for our taste but was smooth and flavorful. Following this we decided to go with the flaming cheese saganaki as well as Beet salad. I should add that a friend and I shared the plates and felt by doing so we can try more options. The cheese saganaki was mild and had a nice pull. Less tangier then some I have tried, nonetheless it was very good. The wood roasted beet salad was so tasty. It was served with a spread of garlic potato skordalia which added a lovely flavor to the beets. The almonds and watercress were interesting but not something I was impressed by. I much more would have liked the beets served with some arugula...but that's just my taste. Finally we had the chicken souvlaki with the shaved cucumber and onion and tzatziki. The chicken was perfectly grilled and tender and I loved all the flavors of this dish together. I asked my friend to finish her shaved cucumber because it was so delicate and tasty, Finally I had the chocolate olive oil cake. I can't say this really impressed me. The gelato was very smooth and creamy, but for me something was lacking to make this dessert exquisite. For one I felt the cake to be a bit dry, though it was flaky. I wasn't sure I really enjoyed it as much as I had hoped. But the combination of the gelato and the cake was balanced and I therefore finished the entire dessert myself!! Lol. I honestly cannot wait to go back and try more of this menu. Every time a server walked by I thought "OH!!! Next time I'm getting THAT!" So all in all I highly recommend this restaurant, I think the experience was wonderful and the bartender was really charismatic and friendly. He was terrific! read more

Run, don't walk to Vasili's. 4 of us went, and everything was outstanding including the food, ambiance, and service. We got the trio of dips with pita bread. All were delicious, the taramosalata was the favorite of all of us. We'd never heard of this before but it was very good. The entrees we go were the gyros, chicken skewers, baked pasta, and caeser salad + salmon tartare (which I'm not seeing on the online menu). All were generous portions and delicious. Our waiter, Christian, was delightful and did a very good job being attentive and friendly. We sat outside at 7pm which allowed their outdoor area to be in the shade which was also nice. read more

Good food, though too expensive for what is essentially a regular Greek place with pretensions. Decor is modern and urban, hard surfaces make it a little loud. It's fine. I've had both lamb and chicken here and both were solid. Fish too, I think, though that was a while ago. All quite good. For some inscrutable reason they don't have avgolemono (???). One of the pretensions that works is the wine list - decent options by the glass. I'd say the food is a solid four stars and the value is two - so will call this a three. I will probably come back because it is the best Greek food I know of near my house ... but I know it will hurt. read more
