Came in and seated immediately. Looked past the badly misspelled menu and thought we would take a chance. 15 minutes before a server acknowledged us. We quickly ordered drinks and food before we lost her attention. Other than dropping off food, we were not checked on. Food was marginal at best. Really hard to mess up wings, popcorn chicken and nachos....but nachos soggy and fries undercooked. While sitting "enjoying" our food....a couple was seated in booth next to us. They sat for 27 minutes without acknowledgment before walking out. Keep in mind, 2 different servers walked by serving the middle tables but never stopped to check on them not us. My favorite here is the Buffalo Chicken Nachos with extra chicken, and extra cheese. Our server Destiny was sweet, spunky, and my wife really loved her jewelry, super cute but not over the top. My wife goes for the Mill Ave Chicken sandwich and I love their selection of craft brews. We're Raiders fans so you should know this is a known 49ers bar... we're usually the only Silver and Black here making all the noise, but the patrons and staff keep it respectable and friendly. My kids love the basketball and video games section, as a father this is a must have!! Not sure how it is as a restaurant, but as a club it's absolute 100% straight fire. It's a sporty bar with a high school aesthetic. The diversions are plentiful. People who don't like dancing so much can play arcade games. If there's enough space you can shoot hoops with your pals. It has performance art wandering through the entire establishment--when it's not getting up on stage and dancing. The masked snare drummer for example was right on brand with the theme; every time he strolled through, the crowd went even more wild and started cheering. Passed by many times and finally decided to pop in. Going in on a Wednesday night is decidedly different from the busy weekends. With that, you get slower service. I was impressed with the menu. There are lots of choices (50 cent chicken wings on Wednesday!). I ordered the spicy penne pasta which was nice. Now, for the cocktails....We were disappointed. This is an awesome place. It's new. The decor is very pretty. Came here for lunch with my husband and our friend. The meals were cooked very well. I ordered the grilled salmon and it was so tasty. My fish tasted delicious. No fishy taste or anything. My husband and our friend ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. It was delicious. Fries were golden and crispy. Came to the area on vacation this past weekend. Love the area. This place looked cool from the street on a Sunday night. Loud music, lights, outdoor patio seating over looking the street. Ordered some beers and a western burger. Asked for a few things and apparently they're out of? No olives, ok, a usual bar snack but no biggie. Then no ketchup? I mean ok fine, but for a pub to be out of ketchup when fries and burgers are on the menu, kind of weird. Had to ask the waitress a few times and then finally would come back and say oh sorry we're out. So maybe they were, maybe they weren't. But as for the food. It was delicious! The other night I was out with a group of friends. A female decided to come up and shove a girl in our group. The bouncer intervened and was starting a seen. He then called for backup, I was grabbed from behind the neck, unable to breath. I was thrown onto the ground and slammed repeatedly. I did not struggle. I was then slammed again outside onto my face. I received a massive gash under my eye & needed stitches. I was then slammed again and was told I cannot leave, they broke my thumb and dislocated my shoulder. I was basically jumped, I couldn't see what was going on the entire time. I only had 2 drinks. Everyone in my group were then all charged with assault, Criminal Damage, and more. & was taken to jail. (None of us should have received any charges) They only assault charges should be for the bouncers. The bouncers clearly have some temper problems and feel the need to hurt who ever they can when they can & I have 0 clue how to D-escalate any situation. They just take it straight to violence. I was drugged there on 8/19 on the first floor. They allow weird men to loiter the bar area with sunglasses and leather jackets (99% sure this is who drugged me). I've tried calling multiple times but the phone number advertised on google does not work. It just beeps a couple times and then drops... Description of the guy: -Shorter in height -Black hair shorter on the sides and a tad longer ontop -Was wearing a leather jacket and sunglasses -Appeared to be of Asian race (more like chinese, korean, maybe even Japanese, etc) -Looked to be anywhere from 35-45+ yrs old -Was loitering around the bar on the first floor I know it had to be him because he was the only person to have touched my drink and before this I had only a drink from a place across the street with my friends where we drank them at the bar and left. This man was the only person besides the bartender to touch my drink here. Even at the other place. I don't know how many other people he roofied but he did grab my drink with his hand covering the top (thinking he had something in the palm of his hand) as the bartender sat it on the table for me and i took it thinking it was fine- i just watched her make it. The dude was being creepy and wouldn't leave me alone; I was waiting for my boyfriend to come out of the bathroom. I did take a drug test and it tested positive for MDMA. I have never in my 21 years of being on this earth ever taken any illicit drugs; only drink on the weekends. So the fact that it came back as MDMA (ecstasy, molly, etc) baffled me. I was only 1 drink in and ended up being completely "wasted" afterwards (the whole night i had 2.5 drinks but wound up as if i drank for hours) since I do not know how to cope with being on such drugs. My memory blacked out and thank god I ended the night in my own bed by my boyfriend but EMPLOYEES: please check people better!! I visited Varsity for the first time yesterday for a playoff game. It was one of the worst experiences ever at an eatery. 1. First we got there early to get a great seat by 2 big TVs upstairs. Everything was fine until 35 minutes before the game and the 2 TVs go out. We kept asking about it and no one ever fixed them so we were forced to watch the "bathrooms " tv cuz tall people standing blocked the other tv that worked. So upset, that's why we chose that spot for those 2 TVs!! 2. We had two small round tables together. When trying to scoot down so all of us can be on one side watching the smaller tv as the game started, I leaned my elbow on the table to scootch and the table screws that apparently were not screwed in well came out, the table top breaks off, flips, all the drinks falling down I fell hard on their cement floor covered in water (I was not drinking). No one there apologized, no one got us a new table, and no manager came by to check on us after a hard fall due to their poor table construction skills. AND we still had our $80 bill! No apologies, no discounts, nothing. 3. I had ordered garlic fries at half time, by the end of 3rd quarter they still had not arrived so I told them at that point forget it. Unbelievable. My back and side are still sore from the fall. I would NEVER suggest anyone to come to this place that obviously couldn't care less about their customers. read more
