I ordered two cheeseburger subs for takeout. ETA was 9pm... I didn't get my order until 930. I watched the delivery guy waiting to pick up the order for over 15 minutes. After it took over 45 minutes to prepare. I should have paid attention to the reviews before ordering because this seems to be a common issue. Thought we would try Vargos pizza to eat during the Bills game and it was not great (and not because the Bills were awful today). The pizza itself is not overly tasty, the crust is kind of homemade tasting and it was a bit greasy. I don't think I'd try it again. read more

I read the reviews on here after I had already ordered our pizza. Some of the reviews were not great, but I decided to be objective, as I was already committed. Ordered a cheese and pepperoni pizza, plain and simple. It was ready in 30 minutes. We liked it! I'd give it an 8/10. Crust was on the thin side, but not soggy. Sauce was average, nothing fabulous but not sour. Plenty of pepperoni but not cup and charred like I prefer, but I did not order that specifically. Finally, mozzarella cheese was "real", not fake cheese like some pizzerias use. We will definitely order again, and I'd ignore the bad reviews and try it yourself! read more

Pathetic. For $18 got 5 chicken fingers barely larger than the complimentary carrot & celery sticks with a small handful of lukewarm fries. Never again. Manager did offer to re-sauce or add a couple more, but I'll gladly take my business elsewhere. (coins added for size reference). read more

Vargo's is new to the area, I have heard from 2 friends they liked their pizza so we decided to give it a try. Since they are new there are a bunch of hiccups, the entire menu wasn't available yet when we ordered but that was ok we were just wanting to try the pizza. The wait time was double what they said when we ordered, they said someone called in so I won't hold that against them either. We tried the buffalo chicken pizza, it wasn't the best I've had but it was good, I think they make their own dough so that's a plus! And I saw on fb they make their own sub rolls another plus. The downfall is the pizza is very expensive, it's just a regular large pizza not a N.Y. style where you may pay more. This area has a lot of pizza places! read more

Save your money. Get a pizza from the deli case at Tops. 1st pizza experience, 2 slices right after Vargos opened. Delicious, dough was well risen and soft, pepperoni was cupped and sauce was plentiful. I thought, "Well alright! Mental note, close to home. & welcome back." 2nd pizza, 2 slices. Dry. Tough. Lackluster. Rude staff, including owner. I left room for the idea the premade slices may have sat a bit, and they were having an off day. The boyfriend brought us a fresh pizza tonight. Ordered half sausage, half pepperoni. Stressed half on each. Was assured the order was understood. While he waited at the counter the young staffer was overheard on the phone comping an order. The owner was on premise and not even addressing the dissatisfied client personally. When the pizza arrived home, it was NOT made properly. No pepperoni. And again, tough crust, inadequate sauce, and no seasoning to speak of. For an $8 deli counter grocery store pizza, baked at home, this would be considered 5 stars. For a full service neighborhood pizzeria, in a community where competition is plentiful, and a $20 bill, I expect more. read more

I just called to order from vargos pizzas on Walden owner answer the phone so rude so I thought I would go in because it's only right across the street from me....... I said can I talk to the owner he said I'm the one that answered the f$$$$ phone I was nice I said that's how you talk to customers?? I said I saw bad reviews on the internet but thought I would give it a try ... he said I don't want your business and said get another black eye WHAT ??? Vargos was our favorite go-to for pizza back in the day so we were excited when we saw them come back into the area. We have given it a fair shake and concluded that we won't ever go back again. First time...good pizza.. 10 extra minutes of wait time -all was fine. 2nd time...good pizza...terrible customer service. Called in the order...told 30 minutes...got to the store and there wasn't even anyone there. The owner eventually pulled up in an Uber with some groceries.. Another 30 minutes and my pizza was ready. Upped my order to a large pizza at no extra charge for inconvenience. 3rd time.....pizza was okay. Pick up time was 5:30. When I got there..was told that it wasn't ready and it would be another half hour. Just wrong! This last time...ordered...pizza ready as promised in 30 minutes. The pizza looked like it had been sitting around all day with absolutely no flavor at all. 3 strikes and you are out. Sorry! We tried and so wanted this business to be a success. read more

I gave this place three stars because I did enjoy the pizza and moz sticks and the service is very friendly. However my sub has just a sprinkle of lettuce on it , not even covering the chicken finger. And I wasn't a fan of the homemade baked rolls because they with thin and you clearly couldn't fit as many ingredients as you could a costanzo roll. Finally on my half of a chicken finger sub I had 1 finger and it was a MINI, not enough protein at all whatsoever. read more

1st and last time i will ever patronage this place. Just recently moved to Lancaster. Was told this was the place for pizza. Wow i see why they went out of business. A 45 minute wait for a large pizza!!! Not 1 person in the place but . Pizza night Monday. Called to place an order, told them i was new to the area. Ordered a large pie 1/2 pepp 1/2 green olive. Ok i should have been flagged by the 45 minute wait, but i was told its the best. I get there and the pizza is $26.00!!! ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME!!! I said isn't it pizza night, $17.09 he goes yeah but you have 1/2 & 1/2 every where else thats still 1 topping. Charged me normal price for a full pizza and an additional $8 for 1/2 toppings. YOU COULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING WHEN I ORDERED!!! IT SAYS THAT NOWHERE ON YOUR MENU!!! I should have left it but I have a meeting and i told my kids i was bringing pizza plus I already invested 45 minutes. Then the kid hands me a coupon for $2.00 off. HEY TAKE IT OFF NOW.
