Just had a really great meal at Vapiano. The way it works takes a moment to adjust to and there is a longish wait for pasta. Might be difficult with a large group. My friend had the Crudo Salad and it was fresh and delicious and filling. I had a small salad but waited in line for my pasta for a while as fresh pasta was cooked for three couples before me. The wait was worth it though. My salad with lemon dressing was fresh, crisp and delicious! My pasta - scampi piccante - was rich and satisfying although not as spicy as expected. The food was soooooo good! We did the Prosciutto and Mushroom pizza, Chicken Alfredo and Carbonara pastas. For the amount of food that we ordered, we had our food, in hand, in less than 20 minutes. I found this restaurant through yelp, as I was visiting Paris alone and needed a quick meal near my hotel in the 8th arrondissement just off the Champs-Elysees that would not break the bank. I highly recommend it if you are craving some good old Italian comfort food in a casual setting. It's a fast-casual, family-friendly chain restaurant. They will hand you an electronic card (like a credit card or hotel key card) when you walk in which will be used to track your order. Orders are placed at the various counters (pasta, pizza, salad, bar drinks, desserts). You can customize your dish by choosing your pasta and adding various vegetables, herbs, spices and cheese. You wait at the counter while your food is prepared in front of you. My wait was about 10 minutes on a late Sunday afternoon. Trays, glasses, flatware and napkins are also at the counter. Seating is first-come, first-serve. I ordered the fusilli bolognese, which was a recommendation on the menu and a small bottle of San Pellegrino. The total was about 16 Euros. Payment is made at a separate check-out counter once you are finished eating. They just scan the key card given at check-in to know what you ordered. It may be a bit confusing at first, especially if you don't know French and there is a bit of a wait queueing up at the counter, but the food, service, price and ambiance had no drawbacks for me. Got there and ordered prosciutto e funghi pizza while my partner waited in the pasta line. After I ordered I got my buzzer and stood in line with my partner and only 1 person was served in front of us by the time my pizza was ready. I went and got a table, half way through looked to see that he was in the same spot with the same people in front of him. Finished my pizza and and he still hadn't moved. So we left. Can't say anything about the food because we left but the service is trash. Said it will open at 11 - never opened so we basically had to ask to go inside because it was so cold outside. Was led in but all the booths weren't willing to take orders. People at the booth kept telling us to go to a different booth and when we did, they told us they can't take any orders. Right off Champs-Élysées you will find vapiano. Vapiano was one of my favorite restaurants in Paris. They serve pasta, pizza, salads, and more. When you walk in, they hand you a card to order food with. Then you are greeted with pasta lines, pizza lines, and salad lines. If you come here I would definitely recommend trying one of their pastas. All their pastas are homemade and are made with fresh ingredients. Everything is made to order which results in long lines especially at dinner time. However, the wait is definitely worth it. I ordered the Bolognese with fusilli, Chicken Alfredo with fusilli, the Riviera with penne and a Margherita pizza. All the pastas were delicious. I especially liked the Chicken Alfredo and Riviera. The Riviera came with penne, salmon, and shrimp, in a creamy cheese sauce with garlic, fresh onion, cherry tomatoes, and spinach. The Riviera was flavorful and the fresh spinach and tomatoes added to the creamy sauce. The chicken alfredo came with fusilli, chicken, mushrooms and egg, in a creamy sauce. The chicken alfredo which I though was gonna be too creamy for me was surprisingly light. The bolognese came with Italian ragout, finely sliced onions, celery, carrots, and homemade tomato sauce. If you like Bolognese sauce then you will like this, but for me the sauce was a little too tangy for me. Our helpful Uber driver dropped us off right in front of this fantastic Italian restaurant after asking him for a food recommendation. The food was delicious, flavorful, fresh and abundant. Everything is made to order. The ordering process is interesting, but they have a similar set up in a restaurant we had visited in London which allowed us to catch on quickly. The chefs were excellent at asking us what we wanted and at preparing our delectable pasta and pizza dishes. This made for an exquisite meal after spending the day at the Eiffel Tour. We stopped in at this restaurant that is just 1/2 block from the Champ-Elysees. It is a family friendly Italian restaurant with exceptional food. Upon entering the restaurant, everyone in your party is given a card which is used to scan their meals. You pay for your food when you are done with your meal at the cashier. You walk up to a station to order your food. There are menus at each station. English menus are available. Your food is cooked right in front of you. The food was fresh and delicious. Portion sizes were good. The pizzas are large enough to split between two people. Desserts and alcoholic drinks are ordered at the bar. Kind of stumbled on this place by accident after discovering that seemingly every vegan or healthy restaurant near Champs-Elysees was closed by 7PM on Tuesday evenings. Vapiano Marbeuf is way better than I was expecting it to be. First off, this place is huge, has tons of seating, and there's actually air conditioning here unlike most other restaurants I've been to in Paris. They have an English menu available and their menu clearly labels which choices are vegan or vegetarian! I ordered some sort of veggie bowl and my meal was amazing! Can't recommend this place enough. Restaurant is in a side street near the ave. Champs-elysees. We took 40 minutes standing in front of the windows waiting for our pasta. Took the family here for dinner while in Paris for a few days. It's identical to their other locations (at least based on previous visits to Hamburg), and that's not a bad thing. The portions are good, the self-seating is fast and convenient - especially when travelling with children, and the price is reasonable. The only concern is that the lines for pasta dishes can be quite long starting around 7:30pm, so dine early if you want a quicker meal. read more

High quality ingredients. Food was really tasty and I'd definitely go back. Feels like a new higher end chain restaurant but was we were ready to try something different. Some of the older cafe/restaurants that we've been trying have disappointed as it relates to food and service so we have this a shot. The place is 3 stories with no outdoor seating, however very comfy inside and you can get a seat by the window if you want to people watch. There's a process to ordering and paying: 1) you receive a plastic card at the entrance 2) approach a cook and place your order 3) you watch your food being prepared 4) cook charges your order to the card 5) you pay at the exit by handing the cashier your card. The process was definitely a new concept for me but didn't matter because it was rather easy and the pasta dishes were delicious. I had a pasta (campanelle pasta was new for me) dish with fresh veggies and chicken, in a garlic aioli sauce. My wife had a linguini shrimp scampi in a fresh tomato based sauce. Both dishes are topped with freshly grated Parmesan and a tad of grinded pepper. Guests are primarily locals so I dug that too. Each dish averaged about 16 euros. Also had a beer and a glass of wine. Not as charming as some of the quainter places we've visited but the food exceeded expectations. Very spacious inside and a good place for families or a larger group. read more

Great food! You get to watch the cook make your food and the pasta is all homemade and you can definitely taste the difference.

Food prices are reasonable and food tastes good. But I'm giving this place two stars because it takes forever to stand in line and get your food! New concept is cool but i don't know why each person needs a pay as u go card. I think you can do with as many cards as you want. Glad we tried it but won't be returning. First off I love Vapiano. I have eaten here several times but in Germany and Austria. We are at this location in Paris near Arc de Triomphe and it was an unpleasant experience. It was empty around 18:00 and staff were all around goofing off. The staff were rude, unprofessional, and unprepared. Will not be coming to this location again. Overall the food was slightly below par but still edible. Still love Vapiano just not this one. read more
