I've been going to Dr. Patel for several years. Always a friendly and fast experience. I like that they have a machine that can accomplish the same thing as dilating pupils without having to put those dilation drops in your eyes, which is weirdly painful for me. I have gone to the same opthomologist for20 years and have retired him thus needed to find someone new to get my contact lenses renewed..... i should have known when I called to make the appointment and the lady on the phone was a little rude in her tone. It set the whole expectation for this appointment..... Giving them the benefit of the doubt i kept my appt. Because i need to keep my eyes healthy and needed a contact Rx.... His receptionist is horrible... stank attitude all around! I honestly do not think she likes to deal with people. She might need to be in the back sorting files or something else where she does not need to interact directly with patients. Same nasty attitude i got on the phone is the same one I got live and in person!!! Dr.Patel was nice and joked a little to tighten up the mood....but I honestly think I need to just go on back to an opthomologist!!! They dont take my insurance anyway... And at the MD they don't rush you like they do in here. I thought I was on the assembly line. Also its not a good idea to dilate someones eyes then Make them go sit back out side in the bright cosco warehouse space with those bright lights I could not see a thing ! Ok, the story was I has been going to Vani Vision for the past 3 years and been EXCEPTIONALLY SATISFY with the doctor and the service from staff, especially Shiela. This year I got my eye insurance for the first time and they didn't take EYEMED so I went somewhere else...big mistake. I got ripped off from many hidden fees that my insurance doesn't cover. I feel so bad that I have to log into Yelp and write them a review. Dr. Provost (who moved a year ago) and Dr. Patel is very professional, patience and try everything they could to make sure the patient get the care they're supposed to. In my case, I have a very hard time getting comfortable with some contact lens that would work for a lot of people. So, they're both spend time with me and helping me pick a contact that fits best to my eyes without any "hidden" fee like other private optometrists. All in all, I wish I could turn back time and choose them instead. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND Vani Vision. read more

Everything went so smoothly. I would like to thank Dr. Patel and his staff. Especially his tech Ciara. She was very patient with me and she did everything with care. I hadn't had an eye exam in a while and I was nervous. Dr. Patel was patient with me as well because I couldn't see really good out of my left eye. He had me come back in a couple of months to make sure it was okay and I can't thank him enough. Ciara helped me pick out some cute glasses and the process was just such a breeze. Extremely impressed by Dr Patel and his clinic. They were very considerate of pandemic precautions. His assistant was extremely friendly and helpful. I had an emergency that I needed to be seen for same day, and they swiftly booked me in. The pricing was affordable, and the service was outstanding. I feel that Dr Patel explored my case very thoroughly, and I felt confident in his analysis. Usually I can have a hard time trusting doctors, but Dr Patel came across as extremely competent, and I left his clinic feeling completely reassured that his insight was correct. I do like Dr. Patel but I wanted to write this as a warning for people searching for an eye doctor. I have an active and current contact lenses prescription and I have been using Hubble contact lenses for almost a year and they work great for me. Hubble sent a verification request to the office to make sure my prescription was active and it was denied. After 2 calls to the office and to Hubble to find out what was going on the office let me know that they will not write a prescription for Hubble contact lenses so I cannot receive the December and January shipments of my lenses with my active prescription. My vision insurance won't cover a visit to new doctor until late January when my current prescription expires. I would not recommend going here. The least the office could have done is be straight forward and tell me that they won't let me order my contact lenses with my active RX instead I'm calling and asking them 100 questions just to figure it out. Waste of my money and time. It makes me angry because they did send back the approval before so I could order them this whole year but now the last two months they deny it. read more

This review is not about Dr. Patel, but my customer service experience. When I arrived for my appointment (new patient) there was a misunderstanding with my health insurance. There was no offer to help me figure out coverage. I became flustered and felt like my presence was an inconvenience to the staff. I called my husband to try to figure out vision coverage. While talking he informed me his optometrist's staff figured out everything on his behalf. I knew I could get better service elsewhere, and cancelled my appointment. read more

Don't ever pick up the phone and try different pronunciations of their name. It is OK to try one option and ask "did I pronounce that correctly?" It is absolutely not okay to go "Ching, Chang, Chong?" Seriously... I don't get offended when people I know do this - but when a receptionist on the phone does this - it's extremely irritating and puts me in a pissed of mood to start with. Eye vision itself was meh - walked out of there with a prescription I didn't exactly like - but it was fairly painless to get it switched back to what I walked in with. Really kind of felt rushed - but my guess is that's due to profit maximizing strategies. read more

I have been going to Vani Vision for a few years now, I trust Dr Patel 100% . Everyone in the office is very pleasant.

I took my twelve year old daughter who was new to contacts. She was so excited about the appointment because she no longer wanted to wear glasses. We came out of there so discouraged and she was in ears saying she would never again try contacts. It was a horrible experience. Dr. Pate could offer no reason why his screening offered a completely different prescription from the one her pediatric ophthalmologist from Emory who performs surgeries had prescribed a week before. Then one of his two assistants was somewhat encouraging as my daughter naturally had to spend a long time trying to put her contacts in by herself. But for some reason the other assistant who is always brusque anyway came in and made her feel rushed. She also stepped away which happened to be at the same time my daughter finally got the contact in her eye. Since she didn't she had stepped away (don't know why), she accused me and questioned me about whether I or her contact in the her and she said she would have to do it again so she could see. And then she said she wasn't going home with any contacts - not even trial pair- if she couldn't get them in a second time. When my daughter (who hardly ever cries) began to fight back tears, she made a big issue of it asking if she was crying out loud. She said, "We'll that ain't gonna do. You need to blow your nose." We got nothing from them. No sympathy, no encouragement, and a lot of humiliation. The doctor wasn't even apologetic. I was literally shocked at the lack of customer service and the treatment my daughter received. I will NEVER go back there again. I was a patient myself but now will not go back. I question Dr. Patel's expertise and the treatment we received was undoubtedly the worst service and experience we have ever had with any optometrist. I do not recommend them to anyone. read more
