My new glasses yeah I'm going to be able to see better now
Gayonna L.

Love live this place. The staff is wonderful and patience and don't mind if you ask questions. I was done with my exam and forgot to ask the Dr. a question, Nicole went and found him and he actually came back and got me and took me back to the exam room to address my concern / questions, whaaaaat, I'm so impressed with this office. They have a client for life. When you are there they don't make you feel as if you're in a Dr setting but more like a friends place you just stop over at. If you need an eye care facility I suggest you give them a try, I promise you will be just as impressed as I was and still am.

This is a very nice and friendly office. We only had a simple problem, but it wasn't to small for them.

I began searching for a private eye care (not a chain) that was close to my house and worried that I wouldn't be able to find one I liked. My search has now ended. This office has a friendly and professional staff, thorough exams with providers that listen and answer all of your questions. If you need an eye doctor that you can have pure confidence in this is your place.

However, the 7 day return policy is not flexible enough. When it comes to progressives, you need a few days to adjust to them. If there's a problem, one needs time to return to the store, find out that the prescription might be wrong, reschedule another ophthalmologist appt, and then return again with a new prescription. For people who work, it is not possible to miss so much work--or get another doctor's appointment so quickly--and return to fix the glasses. I spent a few hundred dollars for unwearable glasses because I work full-time and could not get back into the store with a new prescription within 7 days. I had to wait another year before I could address this due to insurance coverage. I recommend DHEC for standard glasses and the outstanding staff, but if you need progressives that might need some adjustments over time, you might want to consider a place with a more lenient policy.

I recently had cataract surgery with her, and she was great! The follow-ups were thorough, and she addressed all of my concerns! Today, after the eyewear people next door made a mistake and gave me the wrong glasses, I tried to get a copy of my prescription from the front desk and was referred to Jonathan. I explained my dilemma to him, and he was amazingly efficient, clearing things up in a few minutes. He went above and beyond, explaining prescriptions and smoothing ruffled feathers with the eyewear people. He was friendly, courteous, professional, and extremely helpful!

Realized everyone in the waiting room probably at least 25 people were already back in the examining area. It was only another man and myself. I proceeded to go back to the front desk in the lobby and ask what was going on. They asked me twice if I had signed in. I said yes I signed in and as a matter of fact, I spoke with you and said that I checked new patient even though I had been there about four years prior. They had thrown the sheet of paper with my name on it in the garbage. I get back for the exam. I was asked if I wanted a refraction after I was told that I had 2020 vision. Still not sure why I would need a refraction so I said no. Come to find out they billed my insurance VSP for the refraction, even though it was not performed. THAT IS WHAT YOU CALL INSURANCE FRAUD. Not to mention, they proceeded to bill my medical insurance without my knowledge because I had told them that my eyes watered on occasion they also proceeded to tell me that I have these little tiny mites on my eye lids (this is very common) that I don't even know if I have because I don't trust this practice. instead of going through VSP my eye insurance they filed everything under my medical which has a $6000 deductible. All unbeknown to me that this was going to occur. I tried calling to get an explanation and got disconnected. Was told that I had the wrong number even though the call was transferred internally. Got a hold of someone by the name of David Turner, who assured me that he would handle the billing. Received a bill yesterday in the mail so I decided to go in. They proceeded to want to charge me, but in the end, they supposedly have corrected the issue. Then today after I had gone in about four hours later, I get an appointment sent to me that I did not make for November 2. So I had to call and get that canceled. Supposedly they goofed and that appointment was supposed to go to someone else and not me. Needless to say, I am going to find another practice. This place is not a place to go for your eyes to be checked. Almost forgot, the tech proceeded to say to me I know this might sound awkward but would you leave positive feedback on Yelp. They said that they have been asked to tell all their patients REALLY????

Scheduling online and completing the paperwork was very easy and the staff was also able to help me when I realized I'd entered my insurance information incorrectly. When I arrived for my appointment I was quickly checked in and all of the necessary vision assessments were done and I must say I'm glad they have an alternative to the puff of air machine!!!!! Once I was in the chair to be seen by Dr. Birdsong, I mentioned that it was probably time for me to consider progressives and she assessed my vision and made the necessary adjustments to my prescription for both glassses and contacts. I didn't feel rushed in making a decision and I really appreciate that she listened to my needs and explained the different options. They have a smaller selection of frames, in comparison to other places I've been, but I actually prefer a smaller selection and they have lots of other frames that were in the drawers. As with everything else in this office, choosing frames and working with the tech to order glasses and contacts was seamless. And my order was ready almost exactly two weeks to the date. Pick-up was easy and I only wish I'd started coming to this office sooner. Highly recommend this office. The staff and experience were great.

The delay was excessive -- 50 minutes -- and neither the staff nor the doctor acknowledged it...until I brought it up, and then I was dismissed/told she WASN'T late. A simple apology and clearer communication would have gone a long way. When I told the doctor she was late, she said she'd been there all along, that "heck, this is a doctor's office." When I suggested she apologize -- I would have stayed as I just wanted my time acknowledged -- she again repeated she wasn't late and that I didn't have to go there. So I won't. I get it that offices get busy and the delay wasn't necessarily "on her", but a respect for patients' time would make this business more successful. If they even want that.

I picked a pair of frames and spent about $300+ after insurance. Again, no complaints. Kat called me to inform me that my glasses were ready for pick up. I went and immediately noticed that the prescription was not correct. I shared this concern at pick up and was told that due to the prescription that I needed to wear them for about two weeks to allow my eyes to get adjusted. I didn't fully understand this because my prescription was the same as it had always been. I complied, and experienced headache and eye aches. I shared this and went back to the location. Again, I was assured that the prescription was current and shouldn't cause me to have any concerns. Instead it was. No resolve, I left to advocate another day. I went home and found my prescriptions from the prior year and current year, I called back and spoke to Kat to share with her my concerns and findings. She found the error, and i stead of apologizing she just took the glasses. The wrong prescription was totally wrong. I left the glasses and came back a few days later to pick them up. Again, I am still having an issue seeing. I shared this again, but was over talked and ignored. I was given the same advice of allowing the eyes to adjust to this situation. After two weeks and same concern I went somewhere else. They were able to find the concern and I spoke with the location and was told I would get a call back. It never happened, time passed and it slipped my mind to follow-up. I did call back months later and was told that although I communicated my concerns of not being able to see, and I was awaiting a response that too much time had passed for them to adjust the prescription. It sucks that I have had to overly communicate, advocate and continuously go back and fourth to get this situation corrected and still no resolve. I shared my concerns at every visit. I brought up the concern and did everything and I am still in a position of losing out money because of this. While I have a good experience at this facility the last two years have been difficult. I am choosing to not patronize going forward. While this is my experience, I share so that you are well informed.

5 Stars - A Masterclass in Customer Recovery, Thanks to Yaacov Wexler…read more My experience at LensCrafters Store #0873 (Atlanta, GA) began with uncertainty--but concluded as one of the most positive customer service turnarounds I've had in years, thanks entirely to Yaacov Wexler (ID: 509037). On April 16, 2025, I purchased three pairs of glasses. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by several missteps: a lack of guidance on titanium frame availability, incorrect sizing (I typically wear 52mm but was given 55mm), and no clear explanation of lens upgrade options. I left the store frustrated, second-guessing my choices. But then came Yaacov. During my follow-up visits on April 27 and May 9, he not only addressed every issue--I genuinely felt heard, valued, and respected as a customer. Yaacov facilitated a return with zero hassle, corrected the fit on my prescription sunglasses, and even added nose pads to improve comfort--all with a level of attentiveness and professionalism that went far beyond expectation. What stood out most was his calm, knowledgeable approach and sincere desire to make things right. He didn't just resolve a mistake--he redefined what great service looks like. In an age where customer care can feel rushed or impersonal, Yaacov reminded me that one dedicated associate can transform not only a sale--but a customer's entire impression of a brand. I hope his efforts are recognized--he absolutely earned it.
