I've gone to this location for 5 years or so, always purchased new glasses every year. I needed help with my plastic frames being reset, the arms became crooked over use. I was told they couldn't do anything, wouldn't even attempt to fix. With them being g a smaller approx center - and expecting good service, I was highly disappointed. I was treated horribly during my recent visit to this office; I was told to arrive 10 minutes before my appointment at 1:00pm, I arrived at 12:46 and the door was locked. After working outside in the conditions all day in Roswell I decided to grab something to eat from the neighboring lot until 1:00pm because the sign on the door read "closed from 12:00pm-1:00pm. After eating and arriving back to "SMRYNA EYE GROUP" @ 1:08pm, I was told that I was late and needed to reschedule. I explained to them how hard it was to leave work to come out here can they please reconsider the 6 min but the answer was a stern no. Then they wanted to help me to reschedule. Have always had good patient care from them until this past Saturday when an ocular emergency arose. I called you yesterday morning 9/28/24 and left a message for your on call doctor as I had an ocular EMERGENCY. I received no return phone call, which was the least I expected after being a patient for more than 10 years. After spending the day at WellStar Urgent care and the ER at Emory University Hospital (Midtown) I am headed into emergency surgery on a SUNDAY to repair a HOLE IN MY RETINA IN ORDER TO AVOID ANY FURTHER detachment and vision loss. In short, I will NEVER recommend or visit your practice/establishment again nor will my immediate family members. I live in a nearby community with over 1000 homes and I will let them know what I feel is an egregious lack of service by simply NOT returning an emergent phone call to offer me direction given my symptoms. This organization in my opinion is to no longer be trusted with the health of my sphere of influence in this community. I have been a patient at Smyrna Eye Group for about 15 years. We moved five years ago but I kept my doctor there and drove the hour trip for an appointment. Today when I realized I was running late, I called the office to let them know. It went to voicemail twice so I kept on going. I arrived 13 minutes late. The lady at the front desk told me that because I was late, they were cancelling my appointment. I will find a new practice closer to my home but I have two suggestions for Smyrna Eye- 1- review your policies on what to do when someone is late 2- hire front staff people who have kindness and tact when dealing with the public. read more

I gave them multiple chances because 1)it's close to my house, 2) they offer Saturday appts, and 3) I liked Dr Hadadi. But the front office is awful, and today was the third and final straw for me. -Last year they lost my insurance. I got several nasty voicemails the day before my appointment INSISTING I had never given it to them (I had) and threatening to cancel my appointment, which I had made it months in advance. -My husband had to fight with them about his insurance, even though we have the exact same policy and they've billed it before, no issues. -This year my appointment was canceled due to COVID. I can understand that. But they sent an email saying, "DO NOT call us to reschedule, we'll call you." Two months later, I still had no appointment, so I called them, and got an, "Oh yeah, we canceled you. You can come in Saturday." The day of my appointment, I arrive 5 minutes early as I was told to, and was told that I was 10 minutes late and would have to reschedule. Turns out they had shifted my appointment by 15 minutes. And they refused to see me. TL;DR- decent doctors, but I'm tired of wondering what drama I'll have to face with the front office at every appointment. read more

Walked in to browse selection of glasses with an intent to buy and to develop a new relationship with an eye doctor. They demanded I have an appointment before I could see their eyeglasses, and that I wear a mask upon entering. It's 2022, but whatever, I'll wear a mask. When asked why I needed an appointment to look at the glasses, the receptionist said, "the sign says you have to have an appointment. We don't just let people come in here and look at our glasses. You have to have an appointment. It's just the procedure we're operating under." I asked if they had a certain style of frame I was seeking. She said, "I don't know and can't even tell you, not without an appointment." I was not offered an appointment, just told why they would not do business with me, and the only explanation was that there is a sign in their foyer that says so. Smyrna Eye Group is weird, off-putting, and apparently in no need of new business. Horrible first impression. I will actively deter others from this business. read more

6-26-20 EDIT They apologized. Thanks to Evan, I have upgraded my review from 1 star to 3. He took care of the situation and helped me get a new pair that is constructed much better at no additional cost. He walked me through different types of frames and made it a point to educate me on the pros and cons of each. He worked directly with the manufacturer on my old pair. The manufacturer expressed that there is a defect with those old Kate Spade frames I had. I'm just happy I finally got someone to listen to me and do their due diligence. Evan helped me find more durable frames that are still fashionable and cat-like. When I went to pick up my new frames, they now offer curbside pickup - which is so convenient! The guy I originally did business with here retired. So maybe they are turning over a new leaf? In any case, my problem is rectified and I am hopeful they'll do better in the future ___----------- DO NOT SHOP HERE. SCAMMERS AND CROOKS WORK HERE! I had the WORST experience doing business with this despicable place. Back in the end of 2018, I bought frames from this location since it is conveniently located near my home. I purchased a pair of Kate Spade frames and got all the upgrades on the lenses. I eagerly awaited my prescription cat eye frames. At last! I would be able to see well and look fashionable while doing so. They arrived and unfortunately within days they fell a part. Shoddy construction. The piece on the side that kept the glasses properly aligned on my face fell out. So now, I had crooked cat eye glasses. I was annoyed because I literally just bought them. So I go in and talk to this elderly white man who is a manager of sorts at Smyrna Eye Group. I explain how I do not want to use my warranty because I just got these frames a few days ago. Its a matter of principle. You should care about the craftsmanship of the product you're pushing. He agreed after much debate to get my glasses fixed for me. He says he will have to send them in for repair. Imagine my surprise when I get a call the very next day saying my glasses are ready for pickup. I thought to myself, that was fast - maybe a little too fast. Unfortunately, the glasses once again break in the same exact spot, within a week again! I decided then that it was pointless going back so soon as they would just make me use my warranty for their crap product. I held out to use my warranty until later. I call in today and do you know what they told me? They used my warranty already and that I had already received new frames. When I asked about the dates, they said they sent my glasses out for repair and got it back THREE DAYS LATER. Why is the "3 days later" piece important? Because I got my glasses back the next day when I went in. They essentially used my warranty for resale purposes. I never received a new frame. Now they can't help me- I have to buy something at a discounted price. This entire time they've been at fault and do nothing to rectify their issues. This doesn't even include how difficult it has been to get this warranty situation scheduled/discussed - When I tried to call and report the glasses issue months ago, they said I had to come in. When I came in, they said I have to make an appointment. Always the run around. My husband also got overcharged there for his contacts. They charged him one price and then tried to claim they undercharged him when he went home. The reason he picked the contacts he did was due to price so imagine his surprise when they claimed a new price afterwards. We had to dispute it. But they denied. A year later my husband mysteriously gets a check from them for the difference - guilty party finally fessing up. So sick of this establishment. I am reporting them to the BBB because this place is foul! I will never ever spend another dime here Do yourself a favor, find another place for your eye needs. Our family has been with SEG for almost 15 years. Even after we moved out of the area, we decided to stay with the practice and make the drive. Well, we've seen the practice's quality of service decline year after year (after covid) to the point that we are just done with it. Sadly, the front desk staff is beyond awful and will be the reason for this business' failure! First, it is almost impossible to get anyone on the phone to make an appointment. It has taken me months of playing phone tag to be able to talk to someone for an appointment (their common practice seems to be letting the calls goes to vm and then they randomly call you back, super close to their office close time, so you are not able to call back). Then when I finally was able to connect with someone to schedule 4 appointments for our whole family, they took my insurance information and after waiting on hold for a while, they told me that I didn't have vision coverage and needed to pay out of pocket. I proceeded to explain that something must have been wrong with the validation process or data because we 100% had insurance coverage. The lady turned super nasty and was dead set on her findings and didn't want to try validating the information again nor offer to call the insurance to double check.... literally no willingness to listen or help at all! I ended up calling my insurance and my insurance offered to call them directly to confirm our coverage (we were 100% covered for checkups and in-network). After all of this wasted time, they didn't even call me back to schedule our appointments; they told my insurance that I could call them back... what?! As much as I think the world of the optometrists in the practice, we are done dealing with their office shenanigans and have decided to move on and find a practice closer to our home with better trained staff. read more

Every year I come here they always have these super young kids that know nothing about optometry and they do just the very basics without having a full understanding of what they're doing. I wanted to love this business. It was highly referred by a friend. Everything went great up until I received the incorrect lens in my glasses. I call to correct the situation and the people answering the phone don't listen, don't offer solutions and transfer me to a voicemail or to someone that says they will call me back and THEY DO NOT CALL BACK. This has been going on for 3 months with no resolution. The manager of the frames department actually says I will call you back today and days and weeks go by with no call back. I can't believe a company is actually functioning with such evasive customer response. I would not recommend ordering frames and lens from this company. read more

The 2 stars is for the people who work at the eyeglass part - I had 2 appointments 1 week apart and tbh I wouldn't recommend anyone buy glasses there. They aren't nice, friendly nor patient. They don't help you look just make you tell them which pairs you want them to clean (you can't touch them on your own) The first time we were rushed because "it's lunchtime" and when I found out there are no returns on glasses I told her we'd reschedule with someone else. The 2nd visit (1 wk later) wasn't better. Perhaps they're taught to rush the customer into a decision, to not smile, nor be friendly, but the way we were treated on that side is in stark contrast to folks like Dr Wiesickl. read more

The test was complete and done very efficiently. The examiner was completely honest with me, and advised that my prescription had not changed enough to warrant purchasing new glasses. I was asked to consider purchasing eye glasses from them. I explained I didn't in the past because of the warranty I receive at another establishment. The eye wear manager/supervisor stated they had a warranty too. What I didn't realize was that it only replaced the lens once for scratching within a year and the frames until my daughter had an issue with her lens. I'm upset because they want to say a film residue on her glasses look like a scratch and if so, she is out of her warranty once they are replaced. We just purchased these in August 2022. Also, I should have been explained that it was only a manufacture warranty. I purchase a warranty at the other place and it's good all year no limits of how many times it can be used. Now mind you, these same glasses or at least her glasses were originally sent back because they were cut wrong. No sir, this is a manufacturer issue but you do not need to worry about me coming back to purchase glasses. read more
