This is the first review I have ever wrote on anything ever. I have never had a worse experience than how I have been treated at this establishment. I went for an eye exam on Jan 5 and have still, as of March 13, still not received the glasses I paid for. Throughout the experience they have been very dodgy and deceitful and when I can get them on the phone it's always a different story. There was a "glitch" in the system, "It's just a busy time", "your lenses were done improperly". It's been total incompetence or deflecting blame. And guess what, still no glasses or any recompense other than we can offer you a "goody" bag when they come in. I would prefer customer service with integrity and ....I don't know...the GLASSES I ordered which was the whole point! So frustrated and dismayed. read more

These guys are the best. I was going to this opticians prior to the Clarkson buyout and since yet the service has always remained the same. Dr Bang and her staff are always attentive and make sure that you are taken care of and happy with both your exam and any purchase that you make. They also stand behind their product which is a massive plus for me. read more

Clarkson Eyecare Review - 1676 Cumberland Parkway SE, Suite 103, Smyrna, GA 30080 I had one of the most frustrating experiences at this location. I purchased glasses from Clarkson Eyecare on 10/26/2024, but I didn't receive them until 12/27/2024--more than two months later. Throughout this time, I made six visits to the store and called numerous times, but the manager Catherine or Katherine NEVER returned my calls or provided any meaningful updates. I left messages, but they were completely ignored. Even after repeated delays, I had to call the store myself to find that my glasses had finally arrived. The only bright spot was the only male( The doctor was great) staff member who was kind and helpful during this ordeal, and the corporate office also provided some assistance. However, the store manager's lack of professionalism and accountability was unacceptable. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied, and I would not recommend this location to anyone. If you're considering using this store, be prepared for delays and poor communication. read more

I am very pleased with this place. Dr. Bang is amazing. I did have an issue with an order for sunglasses that I placed. It was 6 months and I still had not received my glasses. Long story short, Kat, the manager, made everything right! She handled this situation and corrected it very professionally and I was beyond please with the outcome. They screwed up the billing. When you call about billing you're sent to an out of country call center that reads from cards. The manager tried to credit me a small amount, then I was billed the small credit back by corporate and threatened. You can find the glasses they sell for less than half price if you look. read more

Save yourself some trouble and don't go here for your eyecare needs. I wish I had read some of the reviews on yelp about this place before I went there, because it probably would have changed my mind. The office staff is terribly rude and unhelpful and their billing practices are sketchy and unethical. They told me my insurance would not cover my contact lens fitting and charged me full price for it. A few weeks later, I found out that they also billed my insurance company for the same service. I called to get it sorted out and they took down my contact information and said I would receive a call back before the end of the day. No one followed up with me and I didn't hear anything back. I ended up calling back another day to follow up and the lady on the phone was extremely rude and kept interrupting me as I was trying to explain the situation and then put me on hold for 15-20 minutes so I just ended up hanging up and calling back later. With this situation being about a mistake THEY made, you would think they would be a little bit nicer and proactive about fixing their mistake. It's technically insurance fraud to charge a patient for a service and then also bill their insurance company for the same service. Based on other reviews previous customers wrote, this isn't the first time they have done this sort of thing. I will not be giving this place any more business and you shouldn't either. read more

Incompetent staff, dubious billing practices, errors in spectacle manufacturing. Avoid them at all costs.

I sat down with Cat and ordered three or four special order frames about 6 weeks ago. The plan was to pick the one I liked and go with it. Since then I've made about 5 follow up phone calls asking for Cat for a status. No one ever returned my call. When I finally spoke with Cat moments ago - she claims we never sat down together and ordered anything. I don't think she was telling the truth. I think she dropped the ball and she's trying to cover her tracks. But, in any case, almost half dozen follow up phone calls went unanswered. Very bad experience, and they handled this in a very unprofessional manner. Update - 2:15 Oct 17th. This keeps getting better. I called an affiliate store to get an area supervisors name since Kat is the office manager. Do I get a call back from the the area supervisor..... lol no, I just got an angry call from Kat! Choose carefully ya'll, there are a lot of good providers in this industry. Too many for this kind of nonsense. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Bang for going on 6 years now and find her to be a consummate professional who takes the time to explain things clearly. Every step and option is discussed and she is thorough in her exams. Staff here is friendly and they have a decent number of frame options and patient staff to help you choose. Thought my bill was covered with insurance when I left after asking but got an unexpected bill in the mail

My eye appointment went well. The doctor is actually really great. If you just need to get your eyes checked and don't need any products, this is absolutely the place to go. It's the support staff that caused me to give only two stars. The day of the appt, I was told they price match on contacts and I could call back if I found them cheaper. So I did. This employee basically told me that since I had insurance, I didn't need to pay any less and kept quoting me a (still expensive) per box price rather than quoting a full amount (an annoying practice that they do in the office too.) that I would actually pay. And she wasn't exactly pleasant about it. Sorry, I don't want to fork out ALL my money just because Eye Elements says so. I did the legwork to find a deal promised to me. I thought I'd finally found an eye center to stay with (and bring my husband and 4 kids..) but now the search is still on. read more

I've had wonderful experiences with both Dr. Bang and Dr. Choi. They are very personable and professional. They take their time, I never feel rushed and they review everything with me. They have such a nice selection of high end frames, so I've never felt overwhelmed and really feel like they have the best of what's available. I have been going here for a few years after another optometrist could not get my prescription right and kept having me "try and come back". Dr choi is personable and very knowledgeable. He has the newest technologies and is able to get it right the first time (which is what I would expect but previous experience indicated otherwise). This place is not a friendly nor professional. The woman who prepares contact lenses and frames will give you quotes that are false and lot higher than any other place. She gave me a quote on my contacts lenses and kept saying the price was including my insurance coverage as my insurance was new and she had no idea what my coverage was. Then she would get very aggressive and frustrated toward you when you ask questions. This happened every time I went there for last 3 years. No more of this and I will not go there again. read more

I really like Dr. Phi Bang. She's one of the better optometrist I've ever had. She was patient and answered all my questions with clear, reasonable explanations. My issue is more with the woman who put together my updated lenses and frame. I love my frame. It has become an identity to who I am. I was sorely disappointed when I gave her my frames so she can put in the new lenses and she damaged my frames. Not only that, but my right frame stuck out of the frame, which makes me feel like I'm going to damage my frames when I clean my lenses. The left lens fit into the frame, but the bottom part of the frame is lumpy because for whatever reason, it looks and feels like she shaved a bit of the frame. When I came back in to discuss my frame, she was nonchalant and gave a very dismissal "can't fix it." Even though my old lenses fit my frames perfectly. She claimed that she was going to talk to me about it, but I had already picked up frames before she saw me. If that was the case, a great customer service would have called me. An apology and a solution would've been great. I may have to find another place to go to, or at least someone else to put together my lenses and frame. read more

This place came highly recommended by a good friend of mine and I was very pleased with my experience. The eye appointment was less painful than most - they didn't even blow that horrible puff of air in my eyes b/c they have some other machine for checking what that puff tests. I saw Dr. Phi Bang and she was wonderful. She works out of both the Vinings and the Buckhead offices, which is super convenient. In terms of picking out new frames, they had a very nice selection and a wonderful lady in charge of helping with the process. She assisted me with gathering all the frames that would be best for me and was brutally honest, ha! I'd definitely recommend this practice! read more

I have used this location for several years and have seen a few changes in management. At the end of January 2015, management changed again. The new owner is great! He took so much time with me during my exam; he explained he test thoroughly and though I have been wearing glasses since first grade and contacts since I was in sixth grade (I am in my mid-30s), I left having learned things about the eye and my personal eye health. And when I went back on a Friday to have my contacts fitted, I found on Fridays they offer free water, wine, beer, and light snacks for Happy Hour. Such a nice idea! read more

So I stopped by Smyrna Eye Group PC earlier today to see if they could put a new screw in my glasses. The young lady took my glasses went back into the background and in less than a minute came out and said that she couldn't fix them because "the frame was bent" and she was afraid she would damage the frame if she tried to replace the screw. Mind you the screw was already falling out. She advised me to take them where I purchased them after which I told her I had just moved to Smyrna so that wasn't possible. The frames were purchased in another city. I drove about a half mile down to Clarkson Eye Care and they spent several minutes trying different screws until they found one and presto instant fix. No charge. I stopped first at Smyrna Eye Group because I'm new to the area and its an impressive place, lots of staff, huge office etc. Not impressed and won't be back. It is what it is I have no affiliation with either of these businesses but one helped me at no charge and another failed to because it apparently was too much trouble. Neither place ws busy. I visited Vinings Eye Care after a co-worker recommended them to me. I have always been impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the excellent patient care, and the intimate setting. I really like that the practice is run by a husband and wife. Because the office is smaller, I don't feel like I am simply a number. The staff is always super friendly and willing to help in any way. Additionally, I have been very impressed with both of the doctors. Not only are they friendly. they provide excellent care and will talk openly about all of my concerns. Oh my gosh. The worst eye exam experience of my life. When I arrived for my appointment, the employees seemed to be in an incredible rush. I was whisked away to do paperwork and sit until they rushed me into the next room. The whole eye exam took about 30 minutes from walking in to walking out - including filling out numerous forms for about 25 minutes. If you are looking for attentive care, I would look elsewhere. The speed with which they completed the exam would not bother me, if they had been honest concerning the payment and insurance information. I had to pay $70.00 upfront for what my vision insurance did not cover. They billed my vision insurance (for whom they are preferred provider) $185.00, and I paid $70.00. So far, we're at $255.00 for an eye exam. A little steep. Don't worry, it gets worse... I just received a summary of a claim for services from my health insurance company. Since I have an HRA, I have a limited amount of money to spend each year on health care, and then everything comes out of my pocket until I reach my deductible. Good ol' Dr. Bang billed my HEALTH INSURANCE an additional $191.17. Incredible. Now I have to deal with contacting my health and vision insurance and contesting these bills. I'll also be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Stay away from this place. Seriously. You've been warned. read more

I have experienced better for sure. They say they are doing the right thing for the customer, but never calls the customer or even lets them know. As they play with your insurance and never offered compensation. Really dont understand how they are able to handle peoples lively hoods without talking to the customer before processing a claim. Get everything in documentation and make sure to take good notes and ask questions. read more

Know your insurance well as the office staff was not helpful and did not inform me that they were only medical providers even thought my insurance covers ANY provider. I'm still confused what went wrong with how they billed it. I had to spend 4+ hours resolving the issue with my insurance provider and Vinings Eye Care in a conference call. Anyone needing eye care must go to this place! Truly one of the nicest staff I've ever had anywhere! There is friendly and then there is this staff which goes above and beyond and makes you feel like an old friend from the receptionist to the doctor and everyone between! Everyone on the staff is professional, knowledgeable and respectful of each patients individual needs. I go to Dr. Patel, and highly recommend her as she is great at her job. She makes the eye exam a personal experience by chatting with me about every day things all while doing her job efficiently and professionally so no one has to wait long for their exam. I needed a new pair of glasses and was nervous about picking them out as I was alone. Lexi walked around with me taking her time and giving me her honest opinion about each pair I tried on! She knew what style I was looking for and made sure to show me all my many options. She has an amazing personality and we spent the whole time laughing and talking. I literally felt like I was there with my sister. I was so happy with the pair we picked out thanks to her individual attention and time spent helping me.
