So I finally went online to find a place I could get an eye exam which led me to Rothbloom Eye Care. I saw that they had availability when I was free and I could easily book my appointment online. After about a 15 minute ride, I pulled into their parking lot which had plenty of available spacing even though it still appeared that they had a lot of customers inside. Once inside, I checked in and was called within a few minutes after my arrival. After that, the proceeds was very efficient. The eye exam ran like a well oiled machine! My first impression of Rothbloom Eye Care started on a great note online because it was so easy to book an appointment. The schedule was open and flexible to meet my needs. Another great bonus about the practice that stood out was that it is open later than most, and also on Saturdays. My second impression superceded my expectations because I basically had none. I had not been to the eye since...I probably have not been since the new millennium. The building's facade is so iconic and cute. Of course a building that checks eye sight would promote glasses and make it look so cool. Love that part! When I walked inside the building, there were two friendly people who welcomed me inside and Jamar promptly checked me in. As I looked around the room, I could see many beautiful walls, and tables that pulled out drawers of more frames with every designer brand you could imagine. There were some very high end frames that would make all four of your eyes bug out; however, if you have insurance that could help loads. Soon after I checked in, the doctor was ready for me. I chose Dr. Karan Shah. He was kind, quick, and thorough. I mostly appreciated Dr. Shah's banter. The office has all of this great technology that really impressed me because I believe I have never seen the likeness of this kind of operation ever. Like I said, it's been a while since I've visited the eye doctor. After my visit with the doctor, I was really able to shop the frames and pick out the perfect pair with the help of a kind lady (I forgot her name, but she wear glasses too). A little less than a week later, I received a text message letting me know that my frames were ready for pick up. I tried them on and they were PERFECT! Doctor Gilliam saved the vision in my left eye. I had been coming here for three years to get contacts and glasses. I had a case of pink eye get really bad, and I came here for help. Unfortunately the office didn't take my medical insurance so I told them I would most likely be paying out of pocket. Over the course of the next three weeks I visited them about four times trying different ointments and drops, and finally kicked the infection. I was concerned because each visit is about $130 out of pocket, but the office gave me an incredible discount for paying cash. I will happily pay that money again for the level of service, concern, and care I received from Jose and Dr Gilliam. Jose and Dr Gilliam are the reason I didn't look elsewhere, even knowing I was paying for what my insurance would have covered at another optometrist. I trust these people with my sight, I'd trust them with my life. I will never go anywhere else as long as I live in the Smyrna Vinings area. If you're a diabetic, or have any funky eye problems, these dudes are specialists, and they'll take care of you. 10/10 will recommend. read more

I came back here because it close to home and my first time was the most incredible experience and the lady who help was so knowledgeable and explained every little thing and gave me great input in my frames! BUT THIS TIME!!! JESUS EFFIN CHRIST I SPECIALLY have glasses for the computer. The dr was outstanding and the guy who did my exam. But Laura I think that's her name who placed the order for my glasses was the worst. Did not go over my prescription and definitely didn't explain the charges much less offer the blue light are in that you would think would be a MUST IF I HAVE EFFIN COMPUTER GLASSES!!!! But no. Dr Rothbloom was awesome! His office is super clean. The rooms are state of the art and have the latest and best equipment. His staff was incredibly friendly and helpful as was he. I got the "optomap" instead of the traditional dilation drops. Wow was this convenient. Its an extra $40 but your not blind for 2 hours and it takes maybe a minute to do. Dr Rothbloom then show you the images of the inside of your eye. It was amazing!! I wish I would've asked for a print out it was so cool. Do not purchase glasses from this office. The Optometrist that I saw was great, but the sales side of this office is totally unprofessional. I went to pick up my prescription Ray Ban sunglasses and noticed that the lenses did not say Ray Ban. They tried to tell me that Ray Ban does not brand their lenses. Fortunately, I had another pair of prescription Ray Ban glasses that I purchased from another office and somehow those glasses were branded. They are charging Ray Ban prices, but putting in cheap lenses hoping that the customer would not notice. Well this customer noticed and I will not be returning to this office again. Luckily, they are honoring my refund, but it's unfortunate that this bad business practice tainted my view on the entire practice. If they would have told me upfront this would have not been an issue. My problems is with you lying and telling me that Ray Ban doesn't brand lenses when anyone who has ever owned a pair knows this to be false! read more

This company was A+ from start to finish. Making an appointment for a comprehensive eye exam was done on line within 15 minutes whereas another, much bigger company was never even accomplished. I loved my experience at Rothbloom Eye Care except for one interaction. The staff I interacted with during my exam was very friendly. From the front end to the doctor, I really enjoyed the time I spent with them. Also, the staff that helped me select my glasses, try them on, adjust the size, and answer all my questions were very helpful and accommodating. I would have no problem recommending this clinic to family members. However, all of that great work was negated today when I called with a couple of questions. I called the office because I wanted to purchase a second pair of inexpensive glasses online due to living with young children. I would hate for my expensive pair of glasses I purchased at Rothbloom to be damaged or destroyed. I was given a paper copy of my prescription at my request on the day of my exam for this very reason. I searched online and found a pair of glasses I liked and was attempting to enter the prescription. However, I wasn't sure how to correctly read the paper prescription and the website was asking for information I didn't know how to answer. I called the office and spoke to Eve. I asked if she could help me understand the prescription because I was trying to buy a pair online. It felt as if I was bothering Eve with my questions and she seemed frustrated with talking to me. In addition, I felt extremely rushed to ask my questions because she seemed to want to get off the phone quickly. The doctors and staff are AMAZING! My husband and I had to bring our 4-month-old daughter to our appointments and the staff was so sincere, patient, and accommodating. I've been coming here since 2016, but my most recent visit will be my last. The staff was never great, but the doctors were worth going back for. That isn't the case any more. The exam I had was rushed and sloppy. When I stopped by a few weeks later to order contacts it somehow took 25 whole minutes. There was nothing complicated about my order, but no one knew what they were doing. And then when I got home I realized that they'd ordered the wrong prescription. read more

I am writing this review as fact. I really enjoy being a patient of Dr. Le. She is thorough and makes sure that I have the best exam possible. She is patient and extremely knowledgeable. However, once you are out of her care and in the care of the sales people for the eyeglasses, it is an experience from hell. They treat you like you are stupid. They literally have no customer service skills. If you want your insurance to pay for it all. They will do their best to upsell you to something you don't need to max out your insurance. All the frames are severely overpriced. Perfect example: Oakley Sunglasses: $500+ and insurance covered about half. Later I find out that I could have gotten them for $100 including lenses. I have 5 pair of eyeglasses from here but even with phenomenal insurance that covers everything from tint to frames, I have had to pay every time, more than $150 out of pocket. Customer service by some of the sales representatives seriously needs to improve. You are losing patients because of this. They get 2 stars and that is based only on Dr. Le read more

I have astigmatism and I've been struggling with contacts for years, but Dr. Le was finally able to pinpoint my correct prescription, and patient enough to listen to my excessive feedback and order a couple trial lenses for me to find the right solution. I called this place because it was close to my house and was the first provider my vision coverage listed. The receptionist had no idea what she was talking about and acted very entitled. She wanted to charge me full price when I have insurance that's accepted by this company. She wanted to go through my medical insurance when I have separate vision coverage through my employer but since she classified this appointment as an emergency, she said we had to go through my medical insurance, which is not true. The hassle over the phone made me wonder how much of a hassle it would be at the office, let alone billing. I find it one of the most discouraging things for a person to take the steps in checking on their health and company's like this make it harder than necessary. I called the next office on my company's provider list and they set me up right away. If this place gives you a hard time and attempts to charge you full price while you have coverage, please know there are better options and customer service. read more

I have been a patient of the office for years but switched to Dr. Gilliam (within the office) hoping for better results with my contacts. I am very happy with Dr. Gilliam - he was very professional, was clearly interested in solving my eye care issues, and was successful in zeroing in on what would work best for me. But once patients are turned over to the staff problems start. The quote for my contact lenses was 187% (yes, you read that right) more than what I paid elsewhere. The tech was helpful as I was selecting eyeglasses. As I was waiting I overheard another patient's issue with the office texting a land line (and so the patient did not receive the message). As I placed the order I let the tech know that my phone number is a land line so they would need to call when the glasses were ready for pick up. She made a note on the paperwork. Guess what? They texted anyway. They are clearly uninterested in actually communicating with patients. They already have their money. My glasses sat there for 2 weeks and when I called to check on them I got pretty upset when they told me this. When I went in and picked them up a different tech acknowledged that this is a HUGE issue and many patients have this problem. If is such an issue, why do the they not address it? The operation is inefficient and frustrating for patients. If products are going to be over priced, then customer service needs to make up for it. Sadly, this is not happening at Rothbloom. If you plan to see doctor at the practice, plan to stay COMPLETELY on top of every single detail and be prepared to fully advocate for yourself and your needs. read more
