After my positive experience, I recommended this place to my parents, and they were very happy with their glasses as well. There are a few things I really like about Italy Optical. First, if you purchase lenses or frames from them, the eye exam fee is waived, which is a great benefit. Second, the quality of their lenses and frames is excellent -- I've worn mine for a long time and they've held up very well. Third, both the eye exam process and the overall service are thorough and attentive. I also noticed that my vision has been much more stable this year, which is reassuring. Although my eyesight isn't perfect, I decided to try a slightly larger frame this time -- it definitely helps balance my smaller eyes and gives me a better overall look. Since then because my prescription was too weak my eyesight has steadily gotten worse. Due to their error I have to be blind until June when my insurance will ALLOW me to see another optometrist. I can barely drive right now. The vision test was on a small TV screen less than 20ft away. It just tries to mimic the distance by being small. I could see that perfectly but I can't read the massive overhead signs on the interstate, street signs on residential roads, or the signs of businesses (ya know, the HUGE ones on the front of stores). I moved out of state, so you can't help me and quite frankly, I don't want you to. I'm just VERY upset because I have to wait until June because of their incompetence. I'm giving 2 stars purely for the dog(s) that hang out there and the doctor IS nice. Maybe go here if you have a low index prescription, but high indexes might wanna stay clear.

I picked a pair of frames and spent about $300+ after insurance. Again, no complaints. Kat called me to inform me that my glasses were ready for pick up. I went and immediately noticed that the prescription was not correct. I shared this concern at pick up and was told that due to the prescription that I needed to wear them for about two weeks to allow my eyes to get adjusted. I didn't fully understand this because my prescription was the same as it had always been. I complied, and experienced headache and eye aches. I shared this and went back to the location. Again, I was assured that the prescription was current and shouldn't cause me to have any concerns. Instead it was. No resolve, I left to advocate another day. I went home and found my prescriptions from the prior year and current year, I called back and spoke to Kat to share with her my concerns and findings. She found the error, and i stead of apologizing she just took the glasses. The wrong prescription was totally wrong. I left the glasses and came back a few days later to pick them up. Again, I am still having an issue seeing. I shared this again, but was over talked and ignored. I was given the same advice of allowing the eyes to adjust to this situation. After two weeks and same concern I went somewhere else. They were able to find the concern and I spoke with the location and was told I would get a call back. It never happened, time passed and it slipped my mind to follow-up. I did call back months later and was told that although I communicated my concerns of not being able to see, and I was awaiting a response that too much time had passed for them to adjust the prescription. It sucks that I have had to overly communicate, advocate and continuously go back and fourth to get this situation corrected and still no resolve. I shared my concerns at every visit. I brought up the concern and did everything and I am still in a position of losing out money because of this. While I have a good experience at this facility the last two years have been difficult. I am choosing to not patronize going forward. While this is my experience, I share so that you are well informed.

In December one of the lenses just popped out so I have been using my newer glasses for driving (that I never use because the prescription is way too strong). They were able to get them fixed within 10 min and didn't hassle me to get a new pair (despite the major scratches and chips in the lenses). They tried but when I told them about the horrendous experience I had with the aforementioned too strong glasses which has left a bad taste in my mouth as far as eye doctors are concerned (though not at a WP doctor) they dropped it and didn't try to sell me on their services and just sort of commiserated with me which was kind and appreciated. I was in and out in 10 min and they fixed my glasses for free. Tye also leveled my bad glasses which had twisted also for free and int he same time frame. Took a star because I have had difficulties with customer service in the past but that's not a reflection of this location specifically. More the customer service practices as a whole who you will have to deal with to make an appointment if necessary.
