I highly recommend Italy Optical in Doraville! They provide excellent customer service and truly stand behind the eyewear they sell. I've been impressed by how helpful and accommodating they are, even long after a purchase. They have repaired loose screws, adjusted misaligned arms, and made sure my glasses fit properly. What I especially appreciate is that they are also willing to help with glasses that were not purchased from their store. Everyone there is friendly, professional, and genuinely willing to help. I'm very grateful for their kindness and excellent service and would definitely recommend Italy Optical to anyone looking for a great optical center. read more

I've been going to Italy Optical for several years now, usually returning every three years for a new eye exam and updated lenses and frames. One thing I really appreciate is that the staff has remained the same over the years -- they're always warm, professional, and welcoming. After my positive experience, I recommended this place to my parents, and they were very happy with their glasses as well. There are a few things I really like about Italy Optical. First, if you purchase lenses or frames from them, the eye exam fee is waived, which is a great benefit. Second, the quality of their lenses and frames is excellent -- I've worn mine for a long time and they've held up very well. Third, both the eye exam process and the overall service are thorough and attentive. I also noticed that my vision has been much more stable this year, which is reassuring. Although my eyesight isn't perfect, I decided to try a slightly larger frame this time -- it definitely helps balance my smaller eyes and gives me a better overall look. Overall, a consistently great experience! read more

Amazing customer service. I got told glasses would take an hour but was done in 15 mins The optometrist was very good at what he does! I was told this is their 30 years of being open as a small business! They were very knowledgeable about everything and explained when I asked. I was never confused, instead I felt comforted throughout the whole process. The selection of frames is huge- you couldn't leave without finding something you'd like. There is even a buy 1 get 1 free shelf for budget friendly prices. They use the best lenses available in the optical world, but can also provide many options. I will definitely come back, and I will tell everyone I know to come as well! read more

i came in after my sunglasses broke and they fixed them in less than 2 minutes and I'm good to go! thank you! thank you!

One of the things I like is that it is Family owned, not Corporate. And I think the largest selection of glasses I've seen. The service is excellent, they're very friendly and I think have pretty good prices. It's about the same price as the big box stores corporate who take my insurance, but I get a nicer frame at Italy Optical. You get more for your money! read more

I have written a review in Google before but I will also do one here. The staff was so helpful and thoughtful. We came in for adjustments of 2 pairs and a fix of another. All completed and done in a timely manner. Additionally, adjustment is free but even if it was paid, I would still recommend it for adjustment. read more

Recently, I visited Italy Optical and I can't express how satisfied I am with my experience. From the moment I entered, the team welcomed me warmly and provided exceptional service. Their quick assistance in finding the perfect glasses for me was impressive. Throughout the process, they were informative, gentle, and exuded professionalism. They originally quoted me two weeks for my custom glasses to come in and in just FIVE days they were ready for pick up! Just Wow. I'll definitely be recommending Italy Optical to everyone I know - it's a solid 10/10 read more

Italy Optical - My glasses! - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Doraville, Georgia

I've never been so frustrated with an eye care provider. I originally went in for an eye exam to switch from weekly to daily contacts and to update my lens prescription. At the end of my appointment, I was told the price was around $140, which seemed very low for daily contacts. I double-checked with the staff, asking, "Did I order contacts?" and they confirmed that I had, saying they would be ready in a week. After waiting two weeks without any communication, I went to the office in person to check on my order. That's when I was told I never ordered any contacts. On top of that, they informed me that they had accidentally broken my glasses frames. They didn't even have the decency to call me about it--I had to remind them about my glasses before they admitted to snapping them in half. Their solution? Offering me a discount on a new pair of glasses that they broke! After some back-and-forth, I finally convinced them to replace my frames for free, which should have been their first course of action. I reordered my contacts and waited another week for my glasses replacement. When I called to follow up, they said my glasses and contacts were ready for pickup. Since I was busy with college classes, I arranged for my mom to pick them up and called ahead to let them know. However, my calls weren't going through. After calling five times without success, I used *67 to hide my number--and it went through immediately. Turns out, they had blocked my number. This entire experience has been a nightmare of poor communication, mistakes, and outright disrespect. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They need to do better. read more

Based on the many positive reviews online, I went to Italy Optics to have the lenses in my glasses replaced. I think it was Mr. Kim who helped me. He talked to me about what I use my glasses for, showed me my options, and had the lenses ready in 10 days, just as promised. I'm delighted with the lenses and the service! I plan to use them from here on! read more

I can't say enough good things about Italy Optical! This family-run business stands out in every way, and it's why I keep coming back instead of going to larger or more commercial optical stores. The moment you walk in, you're treated like family, not just a customer. The selection of frames is incredible, but what truly sets Italy Optical apart is the time they take to explain everything; they make sure your prescription is just right, and go the extra mile to make sure you're happy. Supporting a local family business that values quality and relationships over quick sales means everything to me. Italy Optical has earned my loyalty for life. I recommend them to everyone I know! read more

We've known the owners and staff for years, always been providing great & high quality service

Been going here for years. They fixed my glasses for an affordable rate and the staff is always friendly

Wonderful service! Professional and knowledgeable with every attention to detail and the client, I felt!

It's a nice place and has great service. A lot of options to choose from too. Overall, a great experience.

My favorite place to get my eye exam, buy glasses, and order contacts! I've been coming to Italy Optical for almost 15 years now and my family and I used to drive for almost 5 hours just to come here (whenever we would visit Atlanta) because that's how much we love the service. Everyone is so kind and attentive, the prices are fair, and best of all, everything is done quickly and efficiently. I went in the other day to get new frames. After I selected my frames, one of the employees went to check if they had the lenses ready in-house. They did! All I had to do was wait 15 minutes and I was good to go with my new, GORGEOUS glasses. I highly recommend this place to EVERYONE! read more

Such a friendly & fun environment, unlike other typical optometry places. I've been going here for years!!! They have a wide selection of frames which can be overwhelming for me. Thank goodness for Jun & his staffs for always helping me find the perfect pair to match my face while looking trendy. ^^ $60 for eye exam which include contact & glasses prescriptions, which is pretty reasonable! Support local businesses please. My go-to glasses place and eye exam check up place. They are following COVID-Guidelines with social distancing, hand hygiene, and face masks required. I started coming to them two years ago for glasses and an eye exam. Here I am back 2.5 years later (yes i know I am suppose to have annual eye exams... oppsies). I am back and what's great is that they remembered my previous visit. I only had to buy my updated lenses and they still gave me the free eye exam deal. My glasses also had a misplaced screw that fell somewhere lost on the road, and they gave me a replacement screw no charge. No need to come back to pick up my lenses. If they have it in stock, then they will get it to you ASAP (normally 30 minutes is all they need). Moment you walk in, you are greeted by the staff. They offer multilingual services in English, Spanish, Korean, and Vietnamese. I sort of have an expensive taste when it comes to glasses, so catch me in the Ray-Ban section. They have a lot to choose from and for you to wear/try on. They are polite and very chill. They won't rush you and are there for you as long as you need. Sometimes you will catch them have a little fun with funny conversations between staff and customers. Staff are honest, if you don't look good in those lenses, they will tell you the truth. Now if you look good but iffey about buying, then they will do their best to get you to buy them haha. You can also request your prescription too so you can buy your frames online and come back to get the lenses from them. They won't get butthurt, and they support you in any way they can. I think their prices on lenses are pretty dang good. The optometrist here is chill and knowledgable in his craft. Very efficient. Only downside is that even though they have most models, they may not have every color choice for that particular model. For example, I am interested in getting the Ray-Ban Clubmasters, but the only color variation they had for those are blue and black or all black. No big deal. I would just come back with the frames ordered online and get the lenses through them. Friendly staff. Friendly environment. In terms of Ray-Bans, their prices are around the best price available and there can be a discount if you ask politely or work a deal out with the staff like if you buy their lenses with anti-glare and anti-blue light then they will give you 20$ off frames. It doesn't hurt to ask. read more

Been a hermit during the pandemic but needed to replace my broken glasses that this was one of my few essential outings. Location wise, it's located on Buford hwy, across from Sweet Hut plaza. There's about 15 parking spots in front of the store for parking. Once inside, the staff will greet you and you're welcomed by hundreds of glasses/frames to choose from. I literally took 1.5 hours looking at every section to find the perfect pair and didn't feel rushed by the staff. Pricing is marked on each frames and there's so many brand options from no brands to luxury brands like Dior, Gucci, and more. Overall, pricing is reasonable and if they have your specific prescription lenses in stock, you can leave within 30 to an hour with your new specs. Friendly staff, expansive frames, and reasonable pricing, this place is a perfect stop. They also have an optometrist in house if you need your eyes checked and staff can help you in mulit-languages. English, Korean, or in Spanish. read more

I have been coming here for the past 3 years and they never disappoint. They're located right by the hair salon I go to as well-- convenient! INTERIOR: Clean and well-lit. SPECS: Great deals on glasses and shades. They carry an array of brand name specs-- i.e. Ray Bans, Silhouettes, Banana Republic, Tiff. & Co., and many more. To sum it up, they offer specs for all kinds of budget. SERVICE: The service is quick and friendly. Very helpful if you need suggestions while picking a frame. TIPPER(S): -Only con is parking is limited. It's very awkward, but you'll be able to find parking during the weekday. read more

Expecting to part ways with a few bucks, I came in for a replacement nosepad screw for my glasses (those things are microscopic and heaven forbid you drop one on the floor), and I came out with two complimentary fresh nosepads and screws. Thanks tons, Italy Optical! Other random observations from the spec shop: The optical was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon, with folks browsing the frames and picking up glasses. All of the frames are housed in glass display cases so you can't try on without assistance. There is a bathroom (yes Yelp, it's gender neutral) in the back if you need it, and I spotted a water dispenser too. read more

Leave it to me to rip my last contact days before my new vision insurance kicked in. Luckily, Italy Optical came to my rescue! I came in as a weekday walk-in and the whole experience was pretty seamless. This standalone optical is located on Buford Highway, next to I Luv Pho and across from Asian Square; they have a dedicated parking lot. When I stopped by around 1pm, I was notified that the doctor was at lunch and would be back in around 40 minutes, I could either wait or come back. No big deal, I left to grab lunch and they offered to call once the doctor was back, which they did. I came back and filled out a simple form and the doctor was with me shortly after. The optometrist was extremely nice and the visit was short yet thorough. A contacts+glasses exam was $60, which is not bad out of pocket. They have an offer to waive the exam fee and apply it to a year's worth of contacts if you choose to order with them (I did). They were even able to tide me over with some samples since I was going out of town and my order was on backorder and would take longer than usual to come in. Though they have a huge selection of designer and non-designer specs, I did not choose to purchase glasses there. However, they did provide me with a glasses prescription to take so I could purchase wherever I chose. read more

Thank you for taking such great care of me! I get compliments all the time about my Tom Ford frames Needed a second pair just in case and the lenses were off- the owner worked with me until I was happy. He even offered to give me my money back at one point but that's not what I wanted . My prescription is pretty severe so I desperately had to have a backup pair and now I have them after a slight adjustment. Highly recommend read more

Fantastic service! I look at the frames first, and the people are very helpful in showing you/letting you try out the frames. They also bring other frames from other parts of the store for you to look at too. Moreover, they give a free eye exam if you purchase a frame so it's a win win situation if you're 100% sure you're going to buy glasses from them. read more

Great and fast service. Purchased 3 pairs for our daughter and 5 pairs for my husband. We drove from St. Louis. Thanks.

Needing some new glasses and feeling frustrated with my usual online buying of frames, I heeded other spectacle-wearing Yelpers' high praise of Italy Optical and made my way over on a slow weekday afternoon. After browsing and trying on about ten pairs of frames, I was quickly seen by the on-site optometrist (or maybe he has some other eye-doctor specialty? Who knows...). The eye exam was crazy fast. I was whisked in and out in less than 20 minutes and admittedly, I didn't get the usual pupil-dilating, which I was both relieved and ever-so-worried about. Anyway, my prescription was determined and after I went back and forth for some time, I narrowed down my choice to a cool brown tortoise shell frame. With my horrific vision, I opted for the 1.74 high-index lenses, which amounted to half of the total costs for my glasses. I was told I'd get a call in 7-10 days, when the glasses were expected to be ready. Imagine my excitement when I listened to my voicemail and heard a message from someone from Italy Optical after only six days! I rushed over my our little booger and was let down when the nice Korean lady who helped me the first time told me that there were scratches on one of the lenses. Ugh! She said it would probably be another 3-4 days, which was actually bringing me right up to the original wait time. Luckily we live pretty close by. She was right on point about the time, because I received a call exactly four days after the first call. I tried on my glasses and was just over-the-moon about wearing plastic (acetate) frames with NO NOSE PADS! What?!?! I never thought the day would come but Italy Optical showed me a new world of Asian-fit frames. Maybe the term isn't entirely inoffensive (well, it doesn't offend me) to some, but the fit is perfect for folks with noses like mine! :D I will probably come back to Italy Optical for my next pair of glasses and have raved to my glasses-donning siblings about the place, totally pushing them to check this place out for their next pair of goggles. Note: Italy Optical does not accept insurance so your best bet is to pony up the money with your HSA and requesting an out-of-network reimbursement with your vision or health insurance. Few days ago, my puppy decided to destroy my glasses while I was sleeping. My eyes tend to get dry and become irritated when I use contact lenses for more than 12 hours. However, I still need clear vision when I'm driving, or when I'm studying, or anytime for that matter! So I ended up using contact lenses for 24/7. Alas, my eyes just couldn't handle it anymore. So I finally decided to get new glasses. I'm quite particular about choosing my glasses. So I knew I wanted to go somewhere with lots of choices. With an advice from a friend, I went to Italy Optical on Buford Highway. Entire staff was so knowledgeable and helpful. I told them that I didn't have my prescription with me, but they said, "No problem." They actually measure the degree using my destroyed glasses' lenses. They even gave me recommendations on frames and lenses and they were ready to be worn in 30 minutes! Thanks to Italy Optical, I can now say goodbye to red eyes. Phew! Moreover, it was perfect (or fateful) timing: Finals are coming up.. urgh. This place is ran by Koreans, which means you will survive in this store if you speak Korean. However, if English is your forte, do not fear. The staff are very fluent in English as well. On top of that, they also have a staff member who is fluent in Spanish. So no matter what your preference in language may be, they will help you without a problem. read more

I have been coming here for about 10 years. The glasses eye exam is free with the purchase of frames. Awesome!! Contacts exam is free if you get a year supply of contacts. Can't beat their prices! The location is off Buford hwy which is convenient to stop by after eating at the various asian restaurants nearby. I don't live close to the location but I am in the area atleast twice per month for the restaurants and cafés nearby. They have a pretty good selection of frames and like mentioned before, their prices are very reasonable. The staff is extremely helpful and patient. The owner is always super positive and welcoming. I've gone to other eye places and nothing beats this place so far! read more

You guys just have zero idea how amazing this place is. First of all, they do have frames ranging from nice, affordable plastic and metal ones to designers like Cartier ($900 for a pair of frames - seriously?!) and they have practically every size, shape, color, and style under the sun. They're competitively priced too - I went in today and got a nice pair of Ray Bans for $160. The reality is every single time I leave this place, I leave wanting to tell everyone I know how amazing they are. This is for a few reasons: the service, the selection, and the price. When I walked in today, I had my Ray Ban sunglasses, and when they asked me (immediately) if I needed help, I held up my sunglasses and said that I really just wanted something similar in shape because I like the way they look on my face. He instantly sprung into action, first bringing me back to the Ray Ban case itself and pulling out all the possible frames in the style I wanted, and then he started showing me options from cheaper brands as well. I was able to narrow it down really quickly to a few pairs, and then a couple of the employees helped me weigh the pros and cons about the two so I could decide. I only had my prescription as a PDF on my phone but he quickly let me email it to him and had it in a few seconds. I asked how much the lenses were and after looking at my prescription he informed me that it would be $45. Naturally, I replied "Each?" and he then told me that was TOTAL. For both. FORTY FIVE DOLLARS He then proceeded to ask me if I wanted anti-glare. I'm a college student and hello I have a pretty tight budget, so I asked how much extra. $20. Okay, for both? Yes, both. Then, I swear to god, without me hemming and hawing or anything, he told me that really that would bring the total on the lenses to $65, but he'd do it for $30 so don't worry about it. Then he asked me if I wanted to wait and said it would be about 30 minutes, but really he'd probably have them done in 10. Guys. Thirty dollars. For anti-glare lenses. Who the hell else does that? This was without an eye exam or anything and I didn't have to haggle for it. I don't have vision insurance, so this kind of price is a pretty major deal for me. About 15 minutes later, he brought me my brand new glasses with perfectly fitted lenses. I tried them on and he stood around to make sure that they were the perfect fit before I paid and went on my way, with the assurance that if anything felt off about them over the next few days I could bring them back and they'd fix them. I cannot express enough good things about this place. If you live anywhere near Atlanta and need new glasses, GO. They carry so many different brands in different budgets and you just cannot beat $30 for anti-glare lenses that are ready in a few minutes. They're so nice and helpful and they genuinely want to make sure that you get the best glasses you could possibly ask for. Go, go, go. read more

I love this place! First of all, they speak both Korean and English. Second, you don't need an appt. to see the doctor. Hours Mon-Fri 10-7. Finally, the prices are reasonable. They can make or fix your glasses quickly for a good price! read more

I've needed vision assistance essentially my entire life - since I was a out 10, and I always hated wearing my glasses in school. The game changed in high school - for multiple reasons - and I switched to Italy Optical, and I finally felt comfortable-ish in my frames. They have a great selection of unique, stylish frames, and while they are a bit pricey - if you end up purchasing the frames from them, the exam is free. The staff is friendly and efficient. They've offered me contacts samples to get me through the in between orders (mine have to be ordered in), the staff has always provided premier customer service throughout the years, never faltering! The weekends tend to be pretty busy as there's only one optometrist, so if you can try going on a weekday, or call in for an appointment! read more

great place to get glasses made, they do an excellent job making your glasses and have a variety of frames to choose from

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! I've been coming here pretty much ever since I needed glasses/contacts. I've gone to a couple of other places over the years, but I always come back here. The owner has an impeccable memory because he always remembers me (back from when I'd come with the ex, to my current, who he actually seems to like talking to more haha). Exams always go by quickly and are free if you purchase lenses. However, if you should change your mind about getting any type of corrective lenses that day, they will charge you for the exam, but will put it on file and you can just come in next time and not have to pay the fee again. As for contact lenses, you're able to purchase one box at a time for the same price as buying a bunch -- a lot of places require you to buy at least 4-6 months' or a year's supply at one time. And if anything ever happens to your glasses - e.g. you lose a screw, the plastic nose piece falls off, your frame becomes crooked, etc - just come in and they will fix it.. FOR FREE! The only issue I've ever come across was recently when my BF ordered some contacts and for some reason (between Italy Optical and the company they get their stock from), there were some miscommunications and they actually put in the order three times before they arrived, so it took a bit of time. read more

This place is great. I went on a recommendation from a family member because I was looking for a place to get a contact lens exam. I wanted a place that didn't charge an arm and a leg, and he suggested Italy Optical. The exam was $50 and that fee would be waived if I ordered my lenses from them. $50 is an awesome price, but it made me a little skeptical about what I would experience there. I went anyway. I was warmly welcomed and greeted upon walking in. I filled out some paperwork and waited for about 5 minutes before seeing the doctor for the exam. He was very friendly, and gave me some good advice about wearing contacts and readers as I'm moving up in age. I appreciated that because I asked him about a different type of lens or a different prescription because of some minor issues I was experiencing. After the exam, the doctor gave me a set of sample lenses and asked me to return in a week for final fitting and any adjustments to the final prescription. I got my prescription and totally expected a hard sell for getting the lenses from there. I politely declined and they gave me the prescription without any further discussion. I was very pleased from start to finish with my experience and I will continue to patronize this business from now on. read more

Their lines went from Disney to Coach so they have something for everyone's taste and budget. The exams went by fast! I think I was in there for about 8-10 minutes top. BIL decided to get frames and contacts and instead of the usual, your glasses will be ready for pick up in a day or so, they asked us to wait 30 min. and gave him his new glasses that day! I've never seen such great and fast service at an eye place before. The only thing is, they don't accept my insurance here so I just got an eye exam.
