So I finally went online to find a place I could get an eye exam which led me to Rothbloom Eye Care. I saw that they had availability when I was free and I could easily book my appointment online. After about a 15 minute ride, I pulled into their parking lot which had plenty of available spacing even though it still appeared that they had a lot of customers inside. Once inside, I checked in and was called within a few minutes after my arrival. After that, the proceeds was very efficient. The eye exam ran like a well oiled machine! I'm glad I found this eye care facility and will be back next year for my annual exam.

I called ahead to ask if they do eyeglass frame repair on frames I purchased from them in 2013. They said yes and gave me the address of their location (here) that is open Mondays. (Their East Cobb location is not open Mondays.) I showed up very soon after they opened. I recognized Dr. Patel even though it had been over ten years. I explained the two things wrong with my glasses. A member of her team at the front desk examined them and agreed they could be repaired easily. In fewer than 15 minutes, someone walked to the lobby with the repaired glasses. Amazing! In this day and age when so much comes extra, when businesses are squeezed to nickel and dime their customers to make ends meet, I genuinely expected to be charged for this repair. Blazingly fast service and no pressure to buy anything even though it had been over ten years since they made a penny off me? I'm going to make a point to come back when I get my vision prescription renewed in a week. I hope that if you're reading this review it means you're checking them out. Have confidence in visiting them and trusting them to do right by you. I'm no one special. Not a VIP. But even after so long, they happily repaired my eyeglasses restoring my ability to get work done with my vision "restored" so to speak. They use off site phone helpers who ask questions they already have in their files, they overprice…read moretheir frames by a good bit (as evidenced by how quickly they offered to come down on the posted price when I commented on it) and, the straw that broke the camel's back is they charge mandatory $55 for machine optic tests -and won't dilate instead. You are not allowed to refuse. Most places charge $30 for the same tests and offer dilation for free as an option. The staff seemed nice but forced to robotically say the same line to customers all day about the doctor insistence on these mandatory additional charges. I looked up the charges on my phone as soon as they told me about it and found out that dilation was usually an option and that the charge was on the highest end of typical, so walked out and found somewhere else nearby later that same day and am so glad I did. I'll review them separately. Again the place is fine the employees are nice and the eyeglass sales woman was very committed and dedicated and interested but whoever makes their policies is out to make the most money possible with the least work possible.

Dr Lam was the kindest, most knowledgeable Optometrist I have seen. I did not feel listened to or respected, and the overall experience was uncomfortable. During the visit, he suggested bifocal contact lenses. I declined. He then told me that the contact lens prescription he arrived at was "the best he could do" because my eyes were "in between." The contacts were uncomfortable, and I struggled to see clearly both near and far. I remained in that prescription for about a year and a half, assuming the issue was my eyes rather than the fit. Recently, I saw my longtime optometrist, who reviewed that prescription and told me it was not an appropriate fit from the start. He restarted the exam from scratch and fitted me with a completely different type of contact lens. The improvement in comfort and vision was immediate. He also explained that bifocal contacts should not have been suggested to me based on my age and what he observed during the exam, as they were unnecessary. This was one of the most frustrating experiences I've had with an optometrist, and I'm relieved to be back with a provider I trust now that I've moved. I'm sharing this so others feel empowered to seek a second opinion if something doesn't feel right.

So my daughter recommend I take them here to see if they could fix them- so I did! I left them on the condition "we may not be able to fix this" but I knew they would be more successful than me!! The staff on the glasses side even know my daughter and me by name -- that's how long we've been patients here. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been extremely disappointing. At my last visit with my 3-year-old, I arrived at 9:40 AM and wasn't finished until after 11:30 -- nearly two hours of waiting. I understand that delays can happen, but this level of disorganization, especially when caring for a young child, is unacceptable. When I came back for my own appointment, I waited over 30 minutes in the lobby before even being seen. I always arrive on time or early and schedule the earliest appointments possible to avoid long waits, but that clearly didn't help this time. It's very disheartening, because over the years I've purchased at least five pairs of glasses, two pairs of sunglasses, and two pairs of glasses for my daughter. I even planned to get another pair this month. Sadly, after these last two experiences, I've lost confidence in the practice. My family and I will be taking our business elsewhere, and my mother -- who was planning to start coming here -- has now decided not to. I truly hope the office takes this feedback seriously.
