The staff on the glasses side even know my daughter and me by name -- that's how long we've been patients here. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been extremely disappointing. At my last visit with my 3-year-old, I arrived at 9:40 AM and wasn't finished until after 11:30 -- nearly two hours of waiting. I understand that delays can happen, but this level of disorganization, especially when caring for a young child, is unacceptable. When I came back for my own appointment, I waited over 30 minutes in the lobby before even being seen. I always arrive on time or early and schedule the earliest appointments possible to avoid long waits, but that clearly didn't help this time. It's very disheartening, because over the years I've purchased at least five pairs of glasses, two pairs of sunglasses, and two pairs of glasses for my daughter. I even planned to get another pair this month. Sadly, after these last two experiences, I've lost confidence in the practice. My family and I will be taking our business elsewhere, and my mother -- who was planning to start coming here -- has now decided not to. I truly hope the office takes this feedback seriously. Loyal patients deserve better communication, organization, and respect for their time.

I compared the new prescription to my latest prescription and it seemed more like a major change instead of a minor adjustment. Not being an expert, I went ahead and ordered the updated lenses from Rome Eye Care. When they came in and I put them on, the vision in my left eye was good but I could see better out of the right lens without the glasses. I figured I just had to wear them for a while to get used to them. After two weeks of constant wear, my vision was not any better out of the right eye. I returned to Rome Eye care and they read the lenses on their machine and confirmed they matched the prescription I had been given, which I figured they did. They agreed with me that the new prescription was a major change from the lenses I have been wearing since 2023. They said I should go back to the original clinic and have them recheck my eyes. The original office I went to could not give me a repeat exam until June. I let Rome Eye Care know that I wouldn't be back anytime soon so they weren't expecting a quick return. The very next day they called and said that Dr. Reeves said for me to come in and he would re-examine my eyes. A new exam was performed and it was found that the prescription I was given by the other optometrist was over corrected for the left eye and was even a bit stronger than I needed for the right eye. During his evaluation he was able to correct my prescription to give me 20/20 vision. I know this is kind of long, but the people at Rome Eye Care center are really great. Based on how quickly they accommodated the exam and the expert treatment I received, I will probably use them as my primary for eye care.

The offices are nice…read more However, if you are trying to make glasses or sunglasses that are perhaps not the most straightforward - like aviators with a high base curve, their lab seems to struggle with craftsmanship in making them. I have use these same frames (I have a couple) to make lenses with almost the same prescription with other offices and the results have been great. The sunglasses I received from this office had a noticeable "fishbowl" effect. My other pair with the same exact frames and almost the same prescription were cut and produced very nicely with no problems. What actually bothered me was the response when I raised this concern. They repeatedly said this is due to my prescription and the curve of my frames even as I showed them the much better crafted lenses in my other identical frame - demonstrating it was possible to produce lenses for this frame without the problems that it had. When I asked if they could ask the lab to produce quality similar to the pair I had they basically said no. In other offices, without my even having to make that request, the staff told me they noticed the curve of the lenses and that they would personally call the lab and direct them to ensure the lenses were produced without the fishbowl effect and fitting the curvature of the frames well. Briggs needs to hold its lab to higher standards and to offer that level of advocacy for its customers - it's pretty basic for opticians to do that as they work with their eyeglass labs. Unfortunately that type of response means I will have to switch back to the office I used to go to even though it is in Roswell, 30 minutes away. At least I will get better crafted eyeglasses.

To be fair, the tech came and got me about 10:45 and did the initial scans; after that, I got put back out in the waiting room again and called back in for the doctor. She did give me time for questions, but everything was happening so fast I couldn't think and then had several more after I left. The checkout lady, Mary, was very kind and helpful; she got me an appointment quickly and easily. Walking in was confusing; the check-in kiosks are around the corner from the entrance, with no clear signage, so I didn't have anywhere to go until I wandered around and check in via QR code. Not the best experience, but like I mentioned, options are pretty limited for healthcare these days. These guys were able to see me within a week, and, end of the day, I was satisfied with my care. Plenty of parking, easy entrance, clear signage to find the office (it's in a medical building with numerous other offices).
