This was a night out with my teen kids--nice evening so we sat on the patio. Patio chairs were comfortable and there was ample shade. Parking wasn't great because there was a wedding reception on-site. I ordered the Goddess Bowl, the kids got a burger and Alfredo with Steak. My bowl came out without the modification I requested, the kids loved their meals, and the service was friendly with few small delays. Not celiac disease friendly at all! The wait staff and on duty manager had zero understanding of celiac disease and cross contamination issues. Needing to eat gluten free for celiac disease is not a lifestyle choice, this is a medical condition. Gluten CANNOT be eaten by someone with celiac disease without there being a SEVERE medical reaction. The staff was ambivalent and condescending. Please train and educate your staff. Came here on Black Friday for the all you can eat steak and lobster. Food was great and the server was very kind, even though it was busy. I really appreciate how hard the servers and food runners were working. Even if the service was a little slow, the amount of effort the staff was putting in, especially our server, was very nice. Ordered signature drink (winter white cosmo with sugared cranberries) last night $14$. Waitress brought it to the table, set it down and said we're out of the 'white' so you got red. There were no cranberries and the spring of Tyne was abt 1/4 inch. Had bluegill dinner with fries. Was served bluegills with tots. Pretty disappointing. :( read more

Vandy's has a very nice location and a spacious deck overlooking the lake and the golf course. It's too bad that the food does not keep pace. We had a Whiskey Chicken Salad that was requested with the dressing on the side. Unfortunately they threw the chicken in the dressing as well, which looked like chicken in a vat of bacon grease. The patty melt and fries were very pedestrian. The wait staff does everything on a tablet and when you need your check, they hand it to you, while they hover, waiting to get it back. The menu is surprisingly limited, with little variety and imagination Vandy's might be a decent option for post golf round beers and appetizers, but there are far better dining options to be had. Great location. We used to get food here all of the time but in the last month it's really gone downhill. We used to get wings on Wednesday. They took that away. We used to get Cesar salads with salmon or chicken. Now it's tiny and the price went up $2. On top of that now it's so seasoned it tastes bad and they automatically put the dressing on when they never used to (without even telling you)! The whiskey salad was twice the size of the chicken Cesar (literally). But don't ask for any extra dressing or you have to pay! It's just petty and needless the way that they've changed this place. The only thing I was bummed about was that the torches didn't work, so sitting outside on a summer night was dark and I was getting eaten by mosquitos. We have given this restaurant several tries since the new ownership took over about a year and a half ago. I have to say that every time we're there we get a little more disappointed. Unfortunately we will not be going back. This week, two of our six orders were incorrect and had to be sent back, the chicken sandwich was blah and disappointing, sauce on the chicken parmesan had a very funny taste and the rest of the food was below average. No idea how the "signature" items got their name. The loaded nachos were ok but the chicken was very dry. The wontons were good. We went there last Sunday for a late lunch. The service was very pleasant but the food was not. I ordered a cup of wild rice soup and it was nothing but a cup of goo and olive oil. Further, I was double charged on my bill and I pointed this out to management and it still has not been resolved in over two weeks. The service was terrible and the waitress didn't know how to separate bills properly, maybe this is due to bad training which seemed evident in most of the service staff. There was also a wedding and so they were out of some ingredients, not sure why you wouldn't have planned for the wedding and been prepared with extra ingredients which really feels like common sense. We were also harassed by some of the service crew as well, we were judged and ridiculed. The Alfredo was flavorless, the mac and cheese was cold and others tasted absolutely foul. They forgot to put mushrooms and onions on one of our sandwiches, and didn't bring out my parmesan fries until I reminded them and then still took a solid 15 minutes at least. We were treated as children even thought we all range from 17-18 years of age. The soft drinks tasted like tap water, and the food came out at super varied times. They also charged us for an extra sandwich we never received, unfortunately we didn't catch this at the restaurant and so that may be partly our fault. The male server we had was also caught taking objectifying glances at one of our group members. We also didn't receive our waters after requesting them multiple times. I don't plan on ever going back unless I'm forced against my will. read more

Great location, has a nice view of Lake Waconia as you drive in, once inside your view is the beautiful golf course. Food is great, good ole "supper club-like" menu with a nice sports bar menu as well. The atmosphere is excellent, big stone fireplace, a private dining area for large groups, and the extra large bar area with many stools for bar seating. Definitely a unique place to frequent. Vandy's has the best French fries. They are the standard I measure all other French fries by. They are that good.

Our first time was a real pleasure. The food was great. The service was great and the view was wonderful. We will be back soon.

We ate here for the first time since the new ownership took over. We had the wontons for our appetizer and they were amazing. For our main course I had the Mac and Hammy and it was very good, the crumbled chips on the bread were a nice touch, and the homemade chips that came as a side melt in your mouth. We loved Vandy's when we first moved to the area last April. We continued to order through out the shutdown and loved everything we ordered. In the last few months, every time we have gone we leave disappointed. The service and wait staff is amazing and wonderful. However, I can't say the same about the food. Our last visit was this past Thursday. My husbands Mac and cheese was basically soup. His bread roll was a brick. My salmon tasted extremely off and our Brussel sprouts were bitter and tough to chew. Very disappointed. I was happy to finally find a place for baby back ribs after Ground Round went under. I had never eaten at Vandy's before. I got through 1 1/2 ribs before I stopped eating, as did my husband. They were dry with no taste, and chewy . I don't think they were not true baby back ribs, as they were too large. The baked potato was not cooked through either. It was a waste of 25 dollars per plate. I would not eat there again. read more

We found this little gem looking for a spot for a beer before an event in Waconia. Thought it was a nice place had a good appetizer and beer. Came back for dinner tonight and it was very good! We have visited here twice now both on Saturday evenings, really a great warm feeling when here, we really enjoyed the smoked baby back ribs, fish & chips w/bluegills, prime rib on Friday / Saturday's after 4 and many other great choices I want to try, staff is genuinely happy and kind and the owner Corey (great guy) on site both visits making sure things are running smooth and they were, they have a great porch area to reserve for private parties as one was going on with 35 people when we were there and they have a larger reception room for larger events also, we really like this place read more

I can't believe this place is still surviving. Overpriced, strange food combinations. Hubby had the Smokehouse Sliders and the meat was dry. I had the $12 Mac-n-Hammy. Definitely not worth the $12. I don't like potato chips and everything comes with house made chips. I asked for fries as a substitute and it came with a heaping pile of chips and no fries. I just had dinner here with a friend. My third time there. I really like the food and decor. They are decorated for Christmas and it looks very pretty. I ordered the chili bowl and it was delicious. Served with mini corn muffins , cheese and sour cream. It's spicy and delicious. My friend had pulled pork and liked that too. Shockingly great food! I took a gamble because they had a perfect kids menu for my kids. The soup of the day is shrimp chowder which can be a gamble but it was probably the best that I have had. They smoke their own meat I think because the smoked meat was ridiculous. read more

The food is great. The focus is on smoked meets, which are excellent. Everything I have tried has been great. The improvements I would like to see is in the dining area and deck to give it a better atmosphere. The fact that there is no view of the lake is a shame. (I have heard that there are plans in the works!) The other thing I would like to see to push them over the hump is a little higher end bar. For example they have 1 bottle of 1 middle of the road Scotch. A good selection gives the bar a better look and feel. That being said. This is the best resturaunt in Waconia. Had high expectations but the food disappointing and over priced. Had the pulled pork sandwich. Pork was mediocre and served on a unsubstantial over-processed bun. The Whole thing was on a piece of paper on my plate which was annoying as it shredded as I ate my sandwich with my fork. Husband had the brisket which he said was ok, nothing special about it. The beans served with it were abit of a pasty blob. The staff was very friendly and they serve a great selection of local alcohol and cocktails. The remodel is nice and cosy! The speed of service was not so good and the fourth of us ordered the walleye.It came 20 minutes after our other meals and was so under-cooked as to be inedible.
