I love it here! The staff and experience I get everytime I visit Vancouver Water Adventures is a 10/10. Staff are knowledgeable and fun with safety being the number one priority, then their customers having a great time. My husband and I went on their City and Seals boat tour and it's awesome that they run through the winter months. They have suits that keep you warm and are life jackets too. Had some moments that reminded me of river rafting in the sense of fun and adventure ,not at all slow and boring. (But responsible) The tour guide was a young man named Graydon. I was in Vancouver for a quick trip & found myself with an afternoon free. I headed to Granville Island. I went in the ship to see if they had any available tours. There was one seat left on the city & seal tour. Our torrid was Paul & he was informative & fun. I'd highly recommend. They give you a full top to bottom boat suit so there no worries about being cold or etc. The boat is small. Just maybe 4 rows of three people across but it really moves across the water. The tour is a great value for the price. Highly recommend. I'd definitely go again. read more

Our guide Ray was on point! Gave us a smooth and steady boat ride and filled us with tidbits of history of the different areas. Tried this with my bro for the first time. Water skidoo's! It was so much fun and definitely worth it. Highly recommend if you're looking for a little fun and adventure on the open seas. We did the 3 hour tour and the weather was phenomenal. Lot of smooth water made for easy riding. Ask for Simon to be your guide. He's the best. Taught us how to do donuts. The skidoo's were all first rate and had good compartments for shoes and water and cel phones. Learned a lot and saw Vancouver from a beautiful new perspective. Perfect for summer. The Sea-Doo was soooooo fun! Definitely worth the price, but I would recommend booking for 2-hours so you don't feel as rushed when touring around- especially if you're sharing it between 2 people. My husband and I went on the UNESCO Biosphere & Bowen Island Boat Tour on Sunday, July 28 and had an absolute blast! Danie was our guide and she was an excellent Zodiac boat driver. She made sure we had a ton of fun on the water with just the right amount of a thrill ride which we enjoyed thoroughly. I'll admit to being somewhat of a wimp but I never felt a moment of fear and was smiling and laughing a lot of the time. Danie provided interesting information about the area and the sights we were seeing and she had some good jokes. During my week off my boyfriend and I decided on trying something different. And to anyone who is curious I would totally recommend them to try it out because it was so much fun! Our guide was great he was very clear on the safe instructions and showed us a map of where we were going to travel before we headed out. I was so surprised that the jet ski went up to 80km/hr. Anyone that is prone getting sea sick or not comfortable with open water I would not recommend this to them . It was a blast we travelled from Granville island to Bowen island. What an amazing trip this was!!! Andy, our guide, was a huge part of what made this gorgeous trip throughout the Sound and over to Bowen Island an absolutely memorable experience. We were with 6 other guests who were all amazing!!! Andy's entertainment which involved "buzzing" huge freighters, witnessing the setting sun while watching pods of seals and dolphins and his extensive knowledge of the beautiful city of Vancouver and surrounding areas, made this a truly unforgettable experience. It is very clear that the energy Andy puts into his craft as a guide is born from his absolute passion for life itself. The island of Bowen was gorgeous. As we entered Snug Cove, we were greeted by "Charlie" the swan and "Echo" the dog which was perfect. Our dinner at the little restaurant there, rivals most places we have been to. Their food was fresh and thoughtful and had a quality that was quite unexpected. Andy, I can't say enough about your delightful nature and your true devotion to us all that night. read more

Went here on a sunny fall day for stand up paddle boarding. The location is tucked away on Boatlift Lane, on the northwest side of Granville Island. They rent SUPs, water bikes and jet skis. I found the staff to be relaxed yet friendly, helpful. It was my first time paddleboarding and they gave us a few tips on the dock, "keep your knees slightly bent" and "only nervous people fall in", lol. I saw a few people out there with swimsuits on, but I was glad I wore quick dry pants and a light rain jacket as the wind off the water was a little cool. There is no getting around the fact that your feet get cold.... ours were numb by the time we arrived back, but that was after 2 hours on a fall day. The price was reasonable at $30 for a 2 hour rental; that was enough time to get from Granville Island to Science World and back without working hard. The equipment was in decent, reasonable shape. The store itself is small and generic. They have a small washroom available, a few small dressing rooms and about 18 unsecured cubby holes for your stuff. It would be really nice to see small lockers for valuables, but they are willing to put your wallet, etc. into their desk drawers if that makes you feel better. 30-Days of Yelp 2012 - 6/31 read more

I came here today with a friend for a paddleboarding rental. Everything went super smooth. We were both first timers and we didn't fall in the water! It was quite windy and the waves very very strong. We paddled from Granville Island to a bit passed English Bay. Coming back took a very long time because we were going against the wind. So one thing I learned is to zig zag paddle so that you are not directly against the wind. It took us a long time to go back, especially under the Burrad Bridge. All in all, the staff were super friendly and we had a good time. P.S. Maybe because we aren't used to standing up for so long, our feet fell asleep by the end of the paddle boarding session. read more

The bf booked the Bowen Island dinner tour (jet ski) to celebrate my bday. It was a guided tour and Mike was our guide. He was super friendly from the very start and very personable. He was really knowledgable and a great guide. We were given the menus to pick our food when we were still at Granville island and they ran the order to the restaurant so that we would have it shortly when we came. The food was way better than expected and a drink and entree was included in the price. I would definitely recommend this package and going with this company. It was $400 and we spent two hours on the jet ski and had the dinner included on the island. read more

We took the 3 hour granite falls tour with Andy!!! So much fun. We saw seals and jellyfish and some beautiful waterfalls. My teenage boys had a blast. I purchased a groupon for a water bicycle rental..... because it sounded hilarious. Aaaaand guess what? It was. Service at the counter was pleasant, the dude that fit the seats and pedals to our liking was helpful, and the bike didn't sink. We spent a pretty silly hour pedaling around false creek, dodging boats and cracking up. My only real complaint was that my pal and I both received serious scratches on our legs from a part on the bike. But we didn't die, and it ramped up our street cred. read more

We had purchased a 2.5hr tour ride living social voucher and booked on a Sunday. Unfortunately, it seemed that everyone else cancelled except for us, so they ended up phoning last minute the night before to inform me that it was cancelled. Cancellation fee was apparently $70. Instead, they offered me a rental for the same day so I took that instead. Although insurance was available for the regular tour for $25, no insurance is available for a regular rental. Not ideal, but if you have a home insurance policy, the liability portion may cover you, minus your own deductible, if an accident should occur. Suiting up and orientation pretty much took the entire 30 mins that they recommended, so get there early, especially if you're driving, as finding parking is an exercise in frustration. They recommended putting on a wetsuit because of the high speeds and windchill involved, but they smell pretty bad even though they wash it every day, so bring your own if you can. We ended up taking the jet-ski up along the north shore, around horseshoe bay, up around Anvil island's seal colonies, back towards Bowen Island, down towards Spanish banks, and followed the shore back to the docks. The water is never calm out there, the winds creating waves which make it too choppy to go more than 60-70 kph unless you enjoy catching airtime and landing sideways. Harrison lake has much calmer waters where you can hit 90+kph easy if you're after speed. Jet skiing is very hard on the knees, with the pounding motion from the waves. Try to keep pressure off your feet when riding, otherwise the pounding motion from the waves might cause knee pain. Parking is an issue too as there's no dedicated spots, Granville island is log-jammed on good weather, so make alternate travel arrangements. Allow an extra hour for pre and post jet skiing. The 3 hours Granville island offers for free parking may not be enough. We ended up paying the $15 for a full day of parking and staying at the island all day. I booked a 2 hour sea doo rental through them with the intention of proposing to my girlfriend in horseshoe Bay. These guys were absolutely fantastic, knowledgeable, and professional. The plan went off without a hitch, and the machines were excellent, high performance, and well tuned(we've rented sea doos across the province). They're a bit more per hour than some of the others we've rented from, but the fuel was included which WAS NOT the case in any other rental I've booked. The tanks can be $60-$90 for a fill up, so that being included is a bonus. We will most definitely be back this summer and in the years to come. Oh, she said yes! read more

Front desk service was a major downer for the entire experience. The woman greeting us/checking us in was incredibly unpleasant and clearly didn't want to be there. She seemed extremely annoyed from the get go and did not sell the company well. Her attitude was quite a mood killer and made our jet skiing afternoon way less enjoyable than it could have been. It took 20 minutes out on the jet ski's to get out of the funk she put us in before hand. So let's just say you decided to take a trip to Vancouver. And let's just say that on that trip you wanted a little more than taking a hike (which I get told quite often) going on a bike ride or a leisurely stroll around a big ole park. Well I've got just the answer for all of you super adventurous "feel the need for speed" types. These guys have a wicked fun and fast ride on a 500hp zodiac that will satisfy that itch and more. Me and the lady took the 3 hour Granite Falls tour and it was SICK! Our tour guide captain guy, Rafael, knew some rare tidbits of trivia on the trip and drove the boat like he stoled it! No such thing as a straight line with this guy... not when you can strafe super tankers, shear cliffs and islands. After some brief stops to educate us on just where the hell we were the boat seemed to have trouble taking off in a straight line and after a few water donuts it seemed to straighten out always pursuing the next big wave to jump. After all the girls screaming, guys holding on for dear life and several near death experiences (just kidding) we made it back safe and sound with a bunch of shit eatin' grins on all of us. This should be on the top of everyone's Vancouver "to do" list... it's worth every penny! Thanks Rafael for providing some real thrills, great memories and for ruining my underwear! read more
