Cruise was lovely, starting before sunset (7:00 pm, mid Sept) and lasting well after sunset until disembarkation at 9:30. City lights are beautiful. One suggestion (I hope management is following these): turn off the LED rope lights in the cabin after dark so there's no or less reflection on the windows. That reflection makes it impossible to see through the window and enjoy the city lights. Yes, you can go outside, but if chilly that's not ideal for all passengers. That is the biggest negative. Overall a positive experience. Now turn off those lights so we can fully enjoy an evening cruise in Vancouver.

They claimed smoke in the engine room and limped back to port before we even turned into the Arm. Other reviews have reported unexplained itinerary changes that eliminated the main part of the trip. One has to wonder if they don't go up the Arm simply to save money when it's not fully booked or if their boats are that unreliable. While I understand mechanical issues, their compensation policy was completely inadequate. They offered a free drink on board and a coupon for 15% off a future cruise. Anyone booking on the internet can get a 20% discount off any cruise! After much back and forth they finally offered a 20% refund. The final price after this discount was approximately double the price of a narrated harbor tour. We received an un-narrated tour of the container port instead of a tour of the natural environment, which is what we were promised. We feel cheated by Harbour Cruises of Vancouver. Sail at your own risk!

Very bad business practice…read more We booked a 3pm tour. It was the last day that we are in Vancouver, we would be flying home that night. At 1:45pm, after we have planned our whole day around the excursion and checked out of the hotel in preparation of this tour, Sea Vancouver office called and said they are cancelling my tour because they "need a minimum of 4 people and only 3 people booked". I explained that we are leaving the city that day, and we planned our whole day around this, and if there is anything they can do. It is unreasonable to only notify me 75 minutes prior to departure time - we were already on the way to the departure point! The only thing they said was that they will refund me in full (I'd better hope so since you cancelled it with incredibly short notice!) I understand that it may not be economical to operate a tour based on fixed cost, but this was NOT written anywhere when I booked it on the official website, but they were happy to take my money when I booked. The confirmation email stated "We reserve the right to delay or cancel a departure for events beyond our control (e.g. adverse weather conditions, technical or mechanical issues, etc.)" -- well, operating a boat when there are "only" 3 paying customers is definitely in their control, they just choose to screw over their customers. This has put a really sour taste on my trip to Vancouver. I would encourage everybody to stay away.

The lobby is located in the Westin hotel and the ride is 90 minutes long, which takes you all around the harbor of Vancouver to the English Bay! What a great way to see different angle views of False Creek. I've had guests staying over from overseas & they just absolutely loved it. The next time you're at Granville Island & have some extra time to kill, I'd highly recommend doing the round trip from Granville Island & back. It costs about $15 return & it's worth it. A day pass is also available for multiple trips as well - I highly recommend this option if you have a few hours to spare. Pay onboard. Do this during a clear blue sky summer day. If it's cloudy or overcast, don't bother. Staff are friendly & helpful. The seating is comfortable & you can get up to take pictures as you move through False Creek. Like I said I experienced the Aquabus twice this summer & found it so relaxing to be on the water after dinner. Kinda had sea legs after my last trip, when I got back & started walking. LOL. It's a great way to see False Creek along the water. Open daily from 7am till 915pm.

It shocked me actually that Marcus wanted to come with. He didn't usually like to lift his sorry butt off the couch on a Sunday, complaining usually of his torrid night past which consisted mainly of hard cheezies and plenty of X-File repeats on DVD. "They're called reruns," he told me as we walked up the plank to the main deck of the Hornblower - a three deck yacht that was immaculately clean emitting a sense of pride that only the great ocean could demand. "Besides," Marcus threw in. "I couldn't let you go alone." Inside my head, I thanked him. I didn't understand why my friends would turn down a chance to ride False Creek, through the heart of downtown Vancouver, past the business district and take in the beautiful sight that is the sails of Canada Place. Usually, I'd have to draw straws to see who went... but not today. There was only Marcus left standing. In the dining room, the tables were set with matching table cloths and napkins, and at the end of the room, there was a full bar for cocktails and non alky's. On the walls, pictures of famous ships and other boat paraphernalia brought a feeling of comfort and nostalgia, even though I'd never been on the boat before. Upstairs, Marcus excused himself and instinctively found his way into the men's washroom, patting his stomach and announcing to the rest of the crowd that he "had to create some space for dinner". I cringed. They all walked away disgusted. The Japanese could hear the toilet flush from downtown Tokyo and they yelled "Tsunami!" as Marcus bailed out of the loo. "Now I feel like a man," he said (only he was truly serious) "Let's go see the boat". The second deck of the Hornblower wrapped around the entire length of the ship. There were chairs and tables scattered all around from bow to stern. Pockets of people sat with martini glasses and beer steins, taking in the view of Coal Harbour. The blue sky above displayed a run of overcast, but that eliminated the sweltering heat that pounded behind the clouds. It was a perfect day for a cruise. The Hornblower DJ began the evening with light Caribbean music, then as the time passed, got into newer music and old time rock and roll. The dinner was a choice cut of prime rib, roasted herb potatoes, fresh veggies, French bread and a variety of salads. Overall, the presentation was great and the food was tasty. After dinner, that's when the party really got started. Marcus downed three quick tequilas from the bar and scooted upstairs. I cringed again, wondering if I would be wiping Marcus up off the floor by the end of the trip. I downed my red wine and chased after him. Upstairs, the DJ had most of the people dancing in mere minutes. Playing music from the disco era, to the eighties, to old time rock and roll - he didn't stop once. He was unique in the sense that he pulled out costumes and masks for himself and the dancers to wear. People loved it! They put on the Village People hats and did the YMCA! I'd never seen a group of people have such a good time in a short amount of time. He even had Marcus dancing. During the song Man, I Feel Like A Woman by Shania Twain, the DJ put a feather boa around Marcus's neck and dressed him up like a woman, wig and all! Marcus saw me watching from the railing and strolled over to me... more like sauntered seductively. "Dude," he slurred. "I totally need some bazookas!" He raised both his hands to his chest and squeezed. For the first time in a while, I saw my friend smile. By the end of the trip, the sun had set and the beautiful lights of downtown Vancouver appeared. The BMO building stood tall on the shore. The RBC building with the one solid green laser light that shot high into the night sky. Stanley Park on one side, the North Vancouver Quay on the other. The sails of Canada Place were lit up like the Hollywood sign and clear as day. There is no better view of the city than from the deck of the Hornblower. I felt Marcus slump down beside me against the rail. He reeked of tequila and cheap perfume."I think I got a date," he slurred and turned halfway around. I turned and saw him wave to a red hair lady about fifty years of age, wrapped in one of the DJ's boas. She must have outweighed Marcus by at least a hundred pounds, but she was happy... and apparently so was he. "Jackpot!" He made a motion in the air like he was pulling on the limb of a one armed bandit. "So you had a good time," I said. "Ooooh yeah," he smirked. "I'm glad I told everyone that the cruise was on the Fraser River... not False Creek." I was angry only for a second. He was my best friend after all, and if anyone needed to have the night of their life aboard a beautiful yacht, it was Marcus.

The tickets are pretty…read morecheap at a few dollars each depending on where you're going - even if you don't have a particular destination, it's fun to just ride along. It's pretty hard to tell which direction the ferry is going next though unless you're very familiar with the routes, so make sure you ask the driver just in case. I find that the ones I've interacted with all ask you where you're going before letting you on, so at least I haven't taken the wrong boat yet. They have a zone system for ticketing and at first it was a bit confusing for which zone ticket was needed to go where. But they have nice maps at each stop so it wasn't too hard to decipher after awhile. The boat drivers were also pretty nice and were happy to answer questions about tickets. I took the boats during the Big Picnic event at David Lam park. There were other people on the boat but it was not crowded at all. Boats also came all the time and so we didn't have to wait much before ours came. The boat doors were left open when I rode the boats and so it was really nice to be able to take pictures and videos without obstruction from the windows or clear screens. The creek is relatively calm most of the time and the rides are short, so most people probably won't get sea sick.

They leave every 5 minutes. For a modest sum we ferried across to Granville Island. What a pleasant experience and easy way to go to Granville Island!

We met our tour guide, Ali at the designated time (11am) at the designated place, and 20 or so of us enjoyed an incredibly interesting walking tour of Chinatown. There is no way we would have gotten the feel for this city had we not taken this tour. Several folks were repeat tour guy visitors, so they must have enjoyed those as well. Our group had folks from several countries. It is a relaxed tour at a pace that is just right...not too fast and not too slow. Seriously, just right! And absolutely everyone in our group was happy to hand over generous thank you tips. Well-deserved. Ali was kind enough at the end of the tour to guide anyone who wanted dining suggestions or directions. For us, he was even kind enough to let us walk along with him since we were heading in the same direction. As a result, we were fortunate enough to get an extended tour, as he remained a wealth of Vancouver info as we went along. Highly recommend!

She pointed out some places of interest, told us the history of Chinatown, took us to a herbal store, and ended the tour at the Chinese Gardens. The tour was over 2 hours, and she gave suggestions for lunch. I love these type of tours because they are given by people who have lived there for a good amount of time, and who are passionate about what they are presenting. She was no exception.

I first heard about this amazing fishing Tugboat from a friend 15 years ago and put it on my bucket list and you should too. It was amazing and we had the time of our lives. When we weren't catching fish we were laughing so hard our stomachs hurt. We have done the fishing lodges in the past and they're ok too, but this is on another level and for about the same amount of money. No where near the amount of people and very personnel service. This is unique and nothing else like it, making it a wonderful experience for my wife and I. We'll be talking about this trip for some time. Don't be surprised if they take a few days to respond to your inquiry, in fact, expect it, since they are working hard on the boat taking care of the customers like you'd expect in a 5 star hotel. We had some slow days because only mother nature can make the fish bite but then we had some outstanding days where we could have limited out 3 times over. We limited out and loss as many as we kept. Between the wife and I we caught a little of everything. King, Coho, Lingcod, Pink, and some rock fish. Our guide Warren, was outstanding and has a great sense of humor making it a great way to spend the day on the water. If the girls need to make a rest stop the mother ship isn't that far away. We saw Hump back Whales, and Killer whales all around us, as well as a golden eagle swooping down to catch a salmon out of the water. We even heard someone on the radio, say they saw a black bear swimming to shore. We can't say enough good things about Brian and Vieira and this type of trip. I taught Total Customer Satisfaction to national franchisees for over 10 years and Brian and Vieira have it nailed.

We definitely got an entree to share between our group of three afterwards, but thanks to the food tour we knew where we wanted to go fairly quickly.
