5 hour kayak tour around the cove. It was great. Tour guide Lauren was very knowledgeable, took enough breaks and let us explore the islands we stopped on. The group had beginners and they did very good thanks Lauren teaching them how to paddle. Coming from SoCal the sea here is very different. Starfish everywhere and vibrant life but not much bigger than a seal and little worries about sharks. Whales are few in between. You can leave belongings in the office, lunch is supplied. Highly recommend for visitors. For experienced kayakers, id do a guided day then suggest a rental and GPS system.

My wife, her cousin and I went there for our first time and they were really clear when explaining how It works. Prices, process, kayaking and/or paddle boarding. All the staff there were really kind, funny and helpful. I totally recommend this place for beginners. Definitely going there when I return.

Great first experience at this establishment. Online booking was easy, parking was reasonable in a near by lot, staff were friendly and to the point! After a quick in service on how to use the rutters and paddles we were off. Deep Cove is a good spot to get a feel for kayaking as it's pretty calm and gives you a bit of a feel for the open ocean. It's a pretty area with lots of beautiful homes to admire and a lovely shore line. I would recommend starting earlier in the day because the boat action picks up in the later afternoon. I notice it was much more difficult to get back with all the boats making waves. We went for 3hrs which gave us enough time to paddle around a little island and stop for lunch on a nearby beach. $80/3 hrs seems pretty reasonable. They do rentals for over night as well if u have the means to travel with a kayack or if your a more experienced person. There is not a whole lot of storage storage space on the kayaks for an over night camp. There are different sizes tho... I brought a small cooler bag with my lunch, towel and swimsuit stuffed inside and that fit into one of the storage compartments. I also had a water bottle I kept in the kayak with me. There is a second smaller storage in the front of the kayak as well. My friends all wore small backpacks to store their stuff. I suppose if you have campgear for backpacking u might be able to do an overnight kayak camp! Tip... Remember to bring your sunscreen and sunscreen your legs because I got a little burnt thru the kayak on my thighs!! Good times. It's a fun morning or afternoon.

    It's a great workout

This is an easy 5 stars . I called ahead on a Saturday to last minute make sure they had a two person kayak for the last kayak of the day (6 pm ). The person who took my call was friendly And knowledgeable and prebooked my kayak and instantly sent the confirmation . I suggest calling ahead and booking for double kayaks because when we got there they were sold out . They are prompt and knowledgeable. You sign a release and are given a gps and a quick mini lesson and a few tips . They suggest a route for 2 hours and provide an idea of where to go if you are new to the area . We can't wait to go back and do it again as there have been whales seen there this week . The only thing I would suggest is a wet bag for phones . It was a near perfect experience and we will be back for night kayaking soon ! Enjoy ! This is a Vancouver must do !

Amazing, beautiful place to kayak! Deep Cove is about a 30-minute drive from Vancouver and is nestled within the mountains that surround it. Absolutely stunning views from the small village or the water. I rented a kayak from these guys and set about my first ocean kayaking experience. The staff asks you to fill out a waiver (you can fill out one waiver for a max of 3 people), you then collect your life jacket and 'skirt' then head down to get a kayak. The folk who give you your kayak gave me a quick briefing on the best way to position myself in the kayak, how to paddle, and which direction to head in on that particular day. They were very friendly. Once in the water, I just paddled, headed South and enjoyed the incredible view. Words can't describe it so you'll just have to go and see for yourself :) You have the option of renting a single or double kayak, or if kayaking isn't for you, you can also do SUP (Stand-Up Paddle-boarding). If you're feeling lazy, just bring a blanket and find a spot on the grassy area next to the center - bring a picnic and enjoy. For two hours, it's $40 to rent a kayak. The best time to go is during the week, as weekends are insanely busy - good luck finding parking on those very narrow streets!

The knowledgeable staff of the store were great. From the person who took our reservations over the phone, to the clerk store who guided us on what route to take, to the person who fit us into our gear and the person who pulls us out when we come back. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. We went on a Friday afternoon and all the Tandem Kayaks were taken in the books, we had originally made rsvps for Singles but she found a tandem for us anyway and then we changed our minds back to single kayaks. She was patient and very nice. Thank you When we hit the water, the scenery was absolutely spectacular. We found lots of starfish and jellyfish following the path she had suggested. I will most definitely be back.

We paddled for 6 days and camped for 5 nights. The scenery and whale watching aspects of the trip were excellent. The camps were comfortable and well supported by occasional re-supply from the base back in Port NcNiell. The camp on Sophia Island was particularly well appointed with already set tents, cots and a nice kitchen and sitting area. The food prepared by our guide was excellent and hearty. I would certainly recommend this group for paddlers of all levels of experience.

We learned a lot from him and enjoyed spending some time getting to know him. Our guide, Korry, was also excellent. He was also friendly and welcoming and made sure we were well fed and had a good time. There is never a guarantee of finding specific wildlife when you are out in the wild, but Larry and Korry knew the animals behaviors and made sure to stay up to date on recent patterns and updates from all the other local teams in order to give us the best chance to see orcas, humpbacks, eagles, seals, and lots of other wildlife while out kayaking. Even if we didn't see any whales the entire time, it still would have been a great trip. However, we did see lots of orca and humpbacks during our time. They even came right by our island one evening, where we could see them from our dinner table and hear them while sleeping in our tents. I highly recommend going with Larry and Discovery Expeditions. We hope to make another trip in the future.

So our guide had to get out of the raft couple of times to push the raft out of rocks. in between the River Rafting adventure, we also got out of our raft to do a short hike to the water fall. It costed $125 to go River Rafting but it included the wetsuit, lunch and other gears. Also they posted pictures of our River Rafting session on Facebook for us to download. We also had the option to pay $30 for a USB with all photos loaded on it. Overall, I had a great time and will definitely come back. I am thinking of next time doing Kayaking. Also for River Rafting its better to go in June (I was told).

My friends haven't done the Canyon one so it was new to them. They loved it as it was even more challenging and had more dips and rapids. I sat in the front of the raft with another friend, Lee. We got hammered by the big splash of water whenever our raft would dip down over the rocks and rapids. Our guide this time was Sam, he was great and funny. My friends can be a little 'excited' so I'm glad he was able to play along with their antics. The weather was insane yesterday. It was sunny when we drove there from Vancouver however by the time we got changed and started to take the bus to the starting point, it was snowing. Yes, that's right. It was snowing. When we got into the raft and while Sam was explaining the commands, it turned to hail and then rain. The first part of rafting, it was raining. By the time we finished, it was sunny so we had 4 seasons of weather. It made for an even better experience. There were only 2 rafts this time. Last time I went, there was 8 rafts. With only 2 rafts, it was better and more personable as we are able to joke around a bit more. They have a small sauna shack so when we got back, we basically went there to warm up. Again, I recommend coming here for rafting.
