Prices are pretty reasonable and we chose the two hour option due to our limited time during the sunset period. The staff were busy but friendly and assisted us with our kayaks. They will brief you about the kayaks, safety and where to go. Now, I would select a longer time to truly appreciate Deep Cove's natural beauty when you aren't dodging other kayaks or boats. The traffic can be somewhat chaotic in the summer time and it is main area for a lot of boaters heading out of the cove. We kayak around three islands within our two hour option, but didn't relax as much as we want. Again, the salt water, slight wind, and being in the 80's made it a wonderful but brief time.

Great place to kayak, incredible views, definitely worth a visit…read more Equipment and gear were great and in great shape. Our guides were knowledgeable and got us in and out of our kayak without us getting our feet wet. I didn't give five stars for two reasons. First, the two guides seemed a bit lax, they mostly paddled with us instead of taking lead and sweep positions, despite the fact that two out of the six of us had never kayaked before. They did look back periodically to check on everyone, but it was still strange compared to other kayak tours I've been on. Second, they didn't take pictures of us, other tours I've been on do it as a matter of course and email or post pictures to everyone. Still, this was a very worthwhile experience, and everyone enjoyed the views, the seals we saw in the water, etc., and no one had trouble keeping up despite the wind and the range of both ages and kayaking experience.

So our guide had to get out of the raft couple of times to push the raft out of rocks. in between the River Rafting adventure, we also got out of our raft to do a short hike to the water fall. We also got our pictures taken there as well. Each raft could only hold a maximum of 6 people + the guide. Lunch was included in our adventure. It costed $125 to go River Rafting but it included the wetsuit, lunch and other gears. Also they posted pictures of our River Rafting session on Facebook for us to download. We also had the option to pay $30 for a USB with all photos loaded on it. Overall, I had a great time and will definitely come back. I am thinking of next time doing Kayaking. Also for River Rafting its better to go in June (I was told).

My friends haven't done the Canyon one so it was new to them. They loved it as it was even more challenging and had more dips and rapids. I sat in the front of the raft with another friend, Lee. We got hammered by the big splash of water whenever our raft would dip down over the rocks and rapids. Our guide this time was Sam, he was great and funny. My friends can be a little 'excited' so I'm glad he was able to play along with their antics. The weather was insane yesterday. It was sunny when we drove there from Vancouver however by the time we got changed and started to take the bus to the starting point, it was snowing. Yes, that's right. It was snowing. When we got into the raft and while Sam was explaining the commands, it turned to hail and then rain. The first part of rafting, it was raining. By the time we finished, it was sunny so we had 4 seasons of weather. It made for an even better experience. There were only 2 rafts this time. Last time I went, there was 8 rafts. With only 2 rafts, it was better and more personable as we are able to joke around a bit more. They have a small sauna shack so when we got back, we basically went there to warm up. Again, I recommend coming here for rafting.

We paddled for 6 days and camped for 5 nights. The scenery and whale watching aspects of the trip were excellent. The camps were comfortable and well supported by occasional re-supply from the base back in Port NcNiell. The camp on Sophia Island was particularly well appointed with already set tents, cots and a nice kitchen and sitting area. The food prepared by our guide was excellent and hearty. I would certainly recommend this group for paddlers of all levels of experience.

We learned a lot from him and enjoyed spending some time getting to know him. Our guide, Korry, was also excellent. He was also friendly and welcoming and made sure we were well fed and had a good time. There is never a guarantee of finding specific wildlife when you are out in the wild, but Larry and Korry knew the animals behaviors and made sure to stay up to date on recent patterns and updates from all the other local teams in order to give us the best chance to see orcas, humpbacks, eagles, seals, and lots of other wildlife while out kayaking. Even if we didn't see any whales the entire time, it still would have been a great trip. However, we did see lots of orca and humpbacks during our time. They even came right by our island one evening, where we could see them from our dinner table and hear them while sleeping in our tents. I highly recommend going with Larry and Discovery Expeditions. We hope to make another trip in the future.

Rumble in the Jungle!…read more Three of us spent 8 days with a BikeHike adventure in Panama. This was a fantastic experience. Panamá has a lot to offer in a small package. We toured the Panama Canal by bike, took dugout canoes to an indigenous village, camped on a Pacific Coast island where we snorkeled, fished and Kayaked, rode bikes, hiked and zip lined in the mountains, and stayed overnight at our guides coffee farm in a cloud forest, while enjoying gourmet food. This trip was so well organized and the food and accommodations were great. Best of all - our guide, Rolando! A great guide and an even better human being. He took such good care of us and demonstrated how to run tours while treating everyone, clients, co- workers, and other vendors alike, like friends. This trip was rated as moderately challenging and that's an accurate rating. Because of how active this trip is you want to be in good shape. And don't forget SPF clothing and sun screen!

An Unforgettable Slovenian Dream: Biking, Hiking, and More-Pure Bliss with Bike Hike!…read morePrepare to be swept away on an adventure of a lifetime! The 8-day Bike Hike Slovenia trip in May was nothing short of extraordinary - a meticulously crafted journey that delivered an unparalleled blend of exhilarating activities, breathtaking scenery, incredible food, and deep cultural immersion. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into an adventurous dream. Our days were packed with diverse activities: vigorous bike rides on sturdy e-bikes, providing power-assistance for the hilly terrains and winding backroads, alongside well-maintained bike trails; invigorating hikes up alpine trails, including a challenging climb to a mountain-top lunch after witnessing daring cliff jumpers; and the sheer thrill of whitewater rafting on the dazzling, milky-blue (limestone) Soca River, complete with exciting rapids. We also enjoyed a scenic train ride through a mountain, a tranquil paddleboarding session on pristine lakes, and walks through charming towns. Slovenia itself is a marvel - a land of incredible natural beauty, characterized by its most outstanding green landscapes, oxygen-filled air, and spacious, immaculately clean environments; we saw no garbage or graffiti anywhere, a true testament to the evident pride and loyalty its people hold for their country. The scenery was truly diverse, transitioning seamlessly from the chilling majesty of the Julian Alps to the postcard-perfect serenity of Bled Lake and Lake Bohinj, then to charming chalets overlooking verdant wine country, and finally to the historic coastal city of Trieste before concluding in the Italian-influenced beauty of Piran. The cultural and culinary experiences were equally rich. We delved into history with visits to WWI caves and a local home museum that brought the era to life, complete with tastings of traditional schnapps, polenta, and goulash. Sweet delights awaited at a chocolate factory tour and tasting, and we gained fascinating insights at a bee museum lecture. Dining was a daily extravaganza, from hearty bean with sauerkraut dishes to lavish breakfast feasts enjoyed on hotel verandas overlooking lakes, vineyards, or alpine vistas. Evenings brought local appetizers, overflowing salads, and succulent meats and fish, culminating in an unforgettable Adriatic Sea open-seating restaurant experience with various appetizers, three exquisite fish courses, and delightful desserts. What truly set this trip apart were our guides, Miha and Juri. They were simply outstanding - organized, safety-conscious, and possessed an uncanny ability to anticipate and meet the needs of all 13 women in our group, often before we even thought to ask. Their local knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine care transformed an already fantastic itinerary into a seamless and deeply personal experience. This trip was an immersive, oxygen-filled, and utterly breathtaking escape. We felt invigorated by the abundant exercise, from climbing 100 steps to a church and WWI memorial to strenuous mountain hikes and thrilling bike routes. I could go on and on, but truly, the pictures speak volumes. This Slovenia adventure is a must-do that absolutely HAS to be on your bucket list. Bike Hike consistently organizes dream events, and this one was no exception!

Joe and Bill know all the rivers and all of the in-out's of flying fishing. We found a nice spot on the Squamish River, got us geared up and outfitted in waders, gave us each flyfishing lessons. They made the whole experience really fun. it took me a while to learn how to cast and how to hook the salmon, but both guides never lost patience or made us feel like rookies. We got lots of great pictures which were later emailed, they made sure my son and I had a great fishing experience we'll always remember!
