Amazing views. You get to take a gondola plus a lift and do some zip lining. Do be aware there is a little bit of hiking involved in this, so if you can't climb upstairs or you can't walk, this probably isn't the event for you. Madeline and Cody made the experience fantastic and fun. We felt extremely safe. It was an absolutely beautiful day today. Highly recommend.

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay. My, oh, my, what a wonderful day. Plenty of sunshine headin' my way. Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay! I've been to Vancouver many times, but I never had the chance to visit Grouse Mountain. I've seen so many beautiful pictures and heard about their zipline courses. So my friend and i decided to give them a try. I thought it was a little expensive and how they charge you to take the gondola up. There are a total of 5 courses and they suggest you arrive 1 hour early, which makes sense because you have to find parking and wait in line for the gondola. Our flight was schedule at 11 am and we got there around 10:10 and got parking right at lot A , rock star parking!! We just exited the car and walked up the stairs behind us. If you don't have a special plate or pass, you need to pay for parking. We waited in line for the gondola for about a few mins and took the 8 min ride up. The views were amazing!! I wish they weren't so many moths in the gondola. I was too excited with the views to listen to what the tour guide Kennedy said in the gondola, so we got a bit lost when we were trying to find our zipline station. It turns out it's very easy. just follow the bear path and look for the signs. When we reached the zipline station, they told us we had to rent a locker for $1 CAD to place our bags in. You actually can't bring your bags with you, but just your phone. There is a form you fill out and a waiver you sign. They had to weigh me to make sure I weighed enough. They will help you with your vest and helmet and teach you how to carry your own equipment. We had a total of a group of 6 and when everyone was ready, it was time to hike to the first station. Zipline 1 - Length 79m; Elevation 3.5m; Speed 20 km/ Length 259.19 ft; Elevation 11.5ft; Speed 12 mph This was walking distance from the zipline station and it was a pretty short course. You didn't feel you were that high but still it was a great start. Zipline 2- Length 182m; Elevation 17.5m; Speed 55 km/h; Length 597.14ft; Elevation 57.5ft; Speed 34 mph This was right around the 1st course and it was much faster. It was a little bit higher and at the end of the course you get to fly over a small lake. For this course, you had to do the starfish and you should not be holding onto the rope or bar. It was so amazing!! I love how fast it was going and I enjoyed the view of the lake! Zipline 3 - Length 87m; Elevation 9.5m; Speed 35 km/h; Length 285.5ft; Elevation 31.2ft; Speed 21 mph This was a very scenic course. You flew over the lake and what's so cool is that in the end you bounce back. Which they didn't tell you and it was cool to enjoy the view again. Before you reach zipline 4 you have to take the chairlift up the mountain. So you are free from your equipment for a while. You leave it at the bottom of the base and you can remove your helmet if you want, take the lift and enjoy the views. The ride is slow but the views are indescribable. Zipline 4 - Length 387m; Elevation 27m; Speed 73 km/h/ Length 1269.8 ft; Elevation 88 ft.6 ft; Speed 14.29 mph. This is located at the bottom of their other attraction The Eye of the Wind. And you had to walk up a few flight of stairs to get to the top of your take off. The flight itself was very breathtaking. You felt like you had your own helicopter ride and witnessing all the mountains. This was a long ride but slow. I wish it was faster, but at the same time, i loved the views. Zipline 5- Length 455m; Elevation 26m; Speed 70 km/h/ Length 1492.9 ft; Elevation 85.3 ft; 43.5 Mph Getting to zipline 5 was brutal. I live in SF and I know what steep is, and this was steep! And maybe because i'm petite, but the rocky steps were really high, making it harder for me. After you reach the top, you still have to go up the tower. Don't give up!! Anyways, this was a pretty long course and just as breathtaking as the 4th one. The instructor had to give me an extra push because the lady behind me barely made it , mainly because maybe we didn't weigh enough. This course actually ended back at The Eye of the Wind. So only the first minute was a hike up back to the main road and the rest was all downwards. You get to take the chairlift back down and walk back to the zipline station. Overall, i had an awesome experience. They take your photo at the 2nd course so make sure you are ready. The photos are 12.00 each and you can rent a gopro for around 30 dollars. They give you a USB stick in the end with all your videos. Although, you are allowed to bring your cell phone with you, i will be afraid if dropped it. You have a pocket on your vest to hold your cell. Our guides Harmony and David (i think, he was Australian) were awesome and super down to earth. Although, everything did add up in the end, it was all worth it! I will so do this again and maybe in October when its fall foliage, cause I'm sure the views will be spectacular!

My girlfriend and I were late for our 10:00am appointment and we're able to reschedule to a 2:00pm the same day. In the US they would get really annoyed by my tardiness but the teller at the booth( bless her heart) went out of her way to accommodate us. I LOVE CANADA! Anyways we arrived at our appointment 10 minutes before our time and they started us off with a few easy zip lines. Now while it was foggy, and the visuals wasn't great compared if we were at peak season in the summer - we were still able to enjoy the lines. With the fog, it created a sense of the unknown and where the zip ends. I could appreciate that. Before we got to the 4th and 5th lines, we took a 15 minute chair ride up the mountain. These lines were the longest and most fun out of all of the zips. By the last one, we took the chairlift down again. By this time the sun was coming up showing a spectacular view below us. The host were nice. There is some hiking involve and my girlfriend and I were falling behind because we came from the Mountain Rope Adventures tour prior but it was both worth it. I suggest you take the zip lines first before the Rope tour as you will be wiped out. And there are a lot of stairs. Despite that it is a very fun tour to see grouse mountain. Good luck and Shaka bra!

A little bit pricey for the ziplines.... 5 stations for $109. But we totally enjoyed the experience!! The view was absolutely gorgeous. The mountains full of snow around us and the forest and lake underneath us.... scary but very addictive that we wanted to do it again! The staffs are super friendly and professional. They gave very detail instructions. We felt very safe!! The only thing we didn't like about was we had to carry our own zipline equipment. Yes... it was kind of heavy! It was very difficult to walk and carried the heavy equipment in the snow! However, the staffs would jump in and helped us to carry if we were having difficulties.

Its fun attraction but I have done the ziplining 3 times. Well first and last time was paid by my firm. The second time was because Grouse had no snow and they made my snowboarding pass to a ziplining pass (totally not cool). There are a total of 5 lines. First one is a test or practice run for breaking. So the first one is very short. The second one is the rough stop one. In the past you can do whatever you like but now they require you to do starfish pose. So it doesn't go super fast. It is on the 2nd line that they take your photo. Third line is a low one which means you are closer to the water and it is a shorter line. Doesn't go very fast either. Fourth line is the longest line I believe. It has a really nice view. But you can not do starfish or else you might end up getting stuck out there. 5th line is a long line as well. Might be the same length as the 4th line. The 4th and 5th line almost run parallel to each other. Both line very nice view. Overall its fun. I do wish it is a bit longer and that the ziplining goes a lot fast. I have heard other countries have much more scarier ziplining and or way more better ziplining view to see.

I had never been ziplining before but wanted to try it at Grouse Mountain. The day I went, it was super foggy/hazy but still an AMAZING time. I was the only one in the group so it was a solo tour but I liked it better that way. I LOVED my guides as they were a blast to chat with along the way and made everything fun. I left my phone in the locker because I didn't realize you could bring it with you - my mistake. Although I wouldn't have been able to get many pictures as it was very hard to see anything. The fog kinda added to the suspense of the zip since you couldn't see where you were going but I would love to go again on a clear day so I can actually see the mountain/view. I highly recommend this to anyone who is adventurous and likes a little thrill. Again, my guides were amazing and seemed like friends rather than two people taking me on a tour because it's their job. They cared about the rules and my safety but also wanted me to enjoy myself and have fun. There are photo ops along the way and those are the only pictures I have. I can not recommend Grouse Mountain (and he Ziplines) enough.

I don't know why this place has so few reviews! I was in Vancouver for a few days and I knew I wanted to go ziplining (I've never been ziplining before). So my plan was to hike the Grouse Grind and do ziplining when I got to the top. I went early on a Friday morning and got to the top of the mountain around 9am. I tried to get on the 10am zipline tour but it was all full, so I signed up for the 10:30am tour instead. Surprisingly, I was literally the ONLY person on the 10:30am tour, and I still got two fabulous tour guides (although later on in the tour it makes sense why you actually need two guides for every tour). It was like a private tour, and I had a blast! The tour is supposed to about 2 hours, but I'm assuming that's with a full group. I was back at the base in about an hour and 15 minutes. And I'm definitely not complaining because with a smaller group, you don't spend as much time waiting around. It's a very smooth zipline to zipline experience. The first zipline sort of gets you settled with how things are supposed to feel. They teach you the breaking position and signal you at the end of the line to let you know when you have to break. For those of you who are worried, the breaking position serves to lessen the impact when you hit the breaks, but you're not going to die or anything if your position is just a bit off. The third line was my favorite. Well, it was either 3 or 4...whichever the longest one was. You reach almost 40 mph and the zipline is pretty long (I'd say almost a minute?). There is some hiking involved to get from zipline to zipline, and you also get to take a ski lift to get to lines 4 and 5. Another way to enjoy the breathtaking views of Grouse Mountain. From my personal experience, I would say that unless it's raining, every day is a good ziplining day. If it's sunny and clear, you get gorgeous views of the mountain. But I went on a very cloudy/foggy day, and I still had a great experience. When it's super foggy, no you don't get to see much of the mountain, but ziplining through fog is quite an experience as well! You're literally going through thick white mist and you can only see maybe 2-3 ft in front. It makes it more exciting, in my opinion. It is a bit pricey at $109 for 5 ziplines, but I thought it was worth it. I had a wonderful experience here and I hope to return someday! If you guys are interested in the itineraries I used during my visit to Vancouver, I've posted them on my blog here: http://reasyume.com/itineraries/

Do not leave Vancouver without visiting this cool azz place!! Do something totally cool and zipline across the mountains. WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE! From transportation to reservations to lift workers to dining... EVERYONE we encountered that was affiliated with Grouse Mountain was oh so nice and professional. we had an amazing day! SO back to ziplines... there are things in life that you should check off your bucket list and ziplining at high altitude can be one - if you come to Grouse Mountain. $100 but trust me pay for the experience that will be forever etched in your memory. The views are absolutely breathtaking. I truly wish I could've stayed all day and zip zip zipped!!! It was so much fun. There are 5 lines - the first, as the others state, are to ease you into zipping. The other 4 are so worth it. They get better and better! There is some walking, hills, and high climbing involved if you're the average physically active person you'll be fine. And even though you just took a Gandola ride to the sky, there is a ski-lift ride involved as well to take you even higher. But it makes for great reflecting time with your crew and GOD. LOL This was a great experience. Transportation, vis coach bus, is free and loops from Canada Place and the major hotels. Go ZIP now! GoPro rental is a reasonable $37.

View of line #4... see the dot in the distance? That's the platform ;)

I've always wanted to try ziplining and we made the drive up. $109 is a lot for anything that lasts about 1.5 hours but how often do you get to do this? (It's two hours if there's a huge group. Our group was five total.) The trick is to buy tickets a little after the opening 10am rush. We went on what started off as a rainy Monday but even the group ahead of us was a pretty decent size, like seven or eight people. Imagine the weekend on a sunny day. Our slot was 11:20am. It was a family of three and my cousin and myself. The workers are all friendly, we got checked in and assigned our gear. The big question is cameras. They rent GoPros for $33 (or $36?) and the guides start and stop the video for you. I forgot my damn GoPro but we asked if we could use a cellphone or DSLR. They said we totally could use whatever but warned us about them slipping over certain lines. So, if you can figure out a wrist strap to your cellphone, they'll let you use that. I wanted to let my DSLR hang around my neck, which they would have let me do, but the morning rain killed that idea. Anyway, so we met our guides; Adam from the UK and Simon from Switzerland... awesome guys, faked-laughed at my dumb jokes (or maybe they actually thought I was somewhat funny). They were awesome. They didn't try to be show-offs, didn't try to be hall monitors (letting us have some fun) and they were just normal guys. So, you go on five lines. Three lines at the base, two off the back of the top. Line #1 - Small but gets your feet wet, gets your confidence and trust going with the gear. Line #2 - Third longest. Really fast, you have to 'starfish' (arms and legs out) to wind drag and you still slam into the stopping area, which I liked, actually. Line #3 - Smaller line over water, so it's scenic. You can bounce on this one, if you want. Line #4 - This is the crazy one(s). You take a slow-ass lift up... then walk to the line (picture attached). It's faaaarrrrrrrrr. In mean, the unloading porch is like a dot on the horizon. The line is across a big valley. You actually are encouraged to go as fast as possible because sometimes people freak out and slow themselves down and get stuck. Our guides said on #4 and #5, usually one person a day gets stuck and they have to drag them back. So, grow a pair and gun it! Look around, beautiful view of Vancouver. If you're scared of heights, don't look down. Line #5 - Same deal, especially for this... it's really long, a return across the same valley but this isn't as steep so you really have to lean back and get speed. The boy in our group literally almost didn't make it to the platform, stopped before the bumpers, he was going so slow (didn't weigh that much). On the way out, we tipped our guides $10 each. I get the impression they don't get tipped a lot so if they're good, kick in. Yeah, $109 is a lot but they probably don't make a ton and your lives were in their hands. Definitely give this a go! Tip - try parking lot A, everyone assumes it's full and just settles for C or D, which were packed... but A was actually wide open. People see the lower parking lots and just assume they'd better get something quickly.

This was a fun way to spend the afternoon. The good: - Ziplines were pretty good, especially line #4 and #5. - Our guides were great, upbeat and helpful. - Smooth experience, no delays or problems. - Great views on a nice day. The bad: - Kinda pricey for a zipline. Side note: You have to wear one of their helmets to ride and you can rent a Gopro or a locker if you want.

This is a review from about 5 years ago. This is probably the most awesome thing I've ever done in my life. Its the perfect location for a zipline. Absolutely beautiful. I will remember this adventure for the rest of my life. It starts out simple and it got longer and prettier with each flight. There were about 9 flights?, the last one was the best! It went from mountain to mountain. Wish I had a Go Pro (not sure if its allowed). The last flight was a double so my husband and I went together. Amazing! He actually was short about 50 ft, his weight didnt carry him all the way through, lol. So the guide had to go out and get him. The only downside that day was that it was cloudy. We could've seen the city of Vancouver on the last flight, super high elevation, but we ziplined through the clouds. I've never seen anything so beautiful in my life...truely thrilling! At that time the 2 guides and fellow participants were happy to take photos and videos but having a Go Pro would've been awesome. We were in a group of 6, my husband and I and a family of 4. The staff was very professional, I think one was even from Switzerland. So they knew about mountains. I felt completely safe. We were never rushed. The zipline is not cheaply made. Huge bolts, steel rods, tons of concrete made me feel at ease. We went in August, morning flight, and wore warm clothing.. jacket, jeans, running shoes. I would recommend a jacket with zippered pocket for your camera. There is a little bit of a hike to get to some flights. We paid about $100 each and it was worth every dollar. I would pay double for what I got. Can't wait to go back someday!

    Awesome fun!

Rumble in the Jungle!…read more Three of us spent 8 days with a BikeHike adventure in Panama. This was a fantastic experience. Panamá has a lot to offer in a small package. We toured the Panama Canal by bike, took dugout canoes to an indigenous village, camped on a Pacific Coast island where we snorkeled, fished and Kayaked, rode bikes, hiked and zip lined in the mountains, and stayed overnight at our guides coffee farm in a cloud forest, while enjoying gourmet food. This trip was so well organized and the food and accommodations were great. Best of all - our guide, Rolando! A great guide and an even better human being. He took such good care of us and demonstrated how to run tours while treating everyone, clients, co- workers, and other vendors alike, like friends. This trip was rated as moderately challenging and that's an accurate rating. Because of how active this trip is you want to be in good shape. And don't forget SPF clothing and sun screen!

An Unforgettable Slovenian Dream: Biking, Hiking, and More-Pure Bliss with Bike Hike!…read morePrepare to be swept away on an adventure of a lifetime! The 8-day Bike Hike Slovenia trip in May was nothing short of extraordinary - a meticulously crafted journey that delivered an unparalleled blend of exhilarating activities, breathtaking scenery, incredible food, and deep cultural immersion. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into an adventurous dream. Our days were packed with diverse activities: vigorous bike rides on sturdy e-bikes, providing power-assistance for the hilly terrains and winding backroads, alongside well-maintained bike trails; invigorating hikes up alpine trails, including a challenging climb to a mountain-top lunch after witnessing daring cliff jumpers; and the sheer thrill of whitewater rafting on the dazzling, milky-blue (limestone) Soca River, complete with exciting rapids. We also enjoyed a scenic train ride through a mountain, a tranquil paddleboarding session on pristine lakes, and walks through charming towns. Slovenia itself is a marvel - a land of incredible natural beauty, characterized by its most outstanding green landscapes, oxygen-filled air, and spacious, immaculately clean environments; we saw no garbage or graffiti anywhere, a true testament to the evident pride and loyalty its people hold for their country. The scenery was truly diverse, transitioning seamlessly from the chilling majesty of the Julian Alps to the postcard-perfect serenity of Bled Lake and Lake Bohinj, then to charming chalets overlooking verdant wine country, and finally to the historic coastal city of Trieste before concluding in the Italian-influenced beauty of Piran. The cultural and culinary experiences were equally rich. We delved into history with visits to WWI caves and a local home museum that brought the era to life, complete with tastings of traditional schnapps, polenta, and goulash. Sweet delights awaited at a chocolate factory tour and tasting, and we gained fascinating insights at a bee museum lecture. Dining was a daily extravaganza, from hearty bean with sauerkraut dishes to lavish breakfast feasts enjoyed on hotel verandas overlooking lakes, vineyards, or alpine vistas. Evenings brought local appetizers, overflowing salads, and succulent meats and fish, culminating in an unforgettable Adriatic Sea open-seating restaurant experience with various appetizers, three exquisite fish courses, and delightful desserts. What truly set this trip apart were our guides, Miha and Juri. They were simply outstanding - organized, safety-conscious, and possessed an uncanny ability to anticipate and meet the needs of all 13 women in our group, often before we even thought to ask. Their local knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine care transformed an already fantastic itinerary into a seamless and deeply personal experience. This trip was an immersive, oxygen-filled, and utterly breathtaking escape. We felt invigorated by the abundant exercise, from climbing 100 steps to a church and WWI memorial to strenuous mountain hikes and thrilling bike routes. I could go on and on, but truly, the pictures speak volumes. This Slovenia adventure is a must-do that absolutely HAS to be on your bucket list. Bike Hike consistently organizes dream events, and this one was no exception!

BenefacTours arranged our accommodation and volunteering in the Jinja area, where we were able to work with two different organizations. I was paired up with another single traveller to save on accommodation fees though I had the option to book as a single at a higher cost. I have been really satisfied and thrilled that customer service is paramount to this Small Business Operator.

You want the best?! You got it!…read more This is the BEST tour company ever with the most amazing guides who will take care of you. They have a Vancouver Island trip where you can go bear watching, surfing, whale watching, kayaking and more! The Rockies are so gorgeous and there are so many activities to do like Exploring the Ice Fields (My favorite), White Water Rafting, Caving, More Kayaking and Hiking. If you are looking to make friends for life, go on adventures, have lots of free time and independence or stay with the group and hang out, this is how you do it. It is worth every penny! I can't wait to go back!

I booked a tour with Moose Travel to explore Vancouver Island and it was definitely a great choice…read more I had thought about travelling the island solo but after a quick chat with Amanda at the Moose desk I was booked on the last tour of the island in September. Julia was our tour guide and she didn't disappoint! Before we left for the ferry she gave us a rundown of the itinerary for Tofino. We got to the ferry with plenty of time to spare so we stopped off for some coffee. Once on our way we all headed to the top deck to take in the view and get to know our group a little better. After that we were left to explore on our own before heading back to the bus as we arrived in Nanaimo. From Nanaimo we drove towards Tofino, our first stop on the island explorer. We had lunch at Little Qualicum Falls Park followed by a walk through the park to the waterfall. Julia was a fantastic tour guide with loads of information on the park and island history. The drive to Tofino was probably the most scenic drive I've been on. We arrived at the hostel just after 6pm and everyone got checked in before meeting up for a group dinner. The next day everyone went off on different activities and adventures all with the help of Julia, and after an awesome breakfast of bacon, pancakes and maple syrup! The great thing about Moose is they will help set you up with some great activities in the area but you don't have to do that, you have the freedom to explore and do your own thing, so a great company to travel with on a budget! Day 3 we were on our way to Victoria! We grabbed breakfast in Tofino before heading off. On the way we stopped off in Pacific Rim National Park for a morning walk down to Long Beach. The park is a beautiful spot for a walk and to get some great snapshots of British Columbia scenery. Once at the beach we took some photos and then Julia gave us the option of walking along the beach or back through the forest. Everyone opted for a stroll along the beach and Julia picked us up on the other side. Lunch was a stop in Coombs, where goats live on rooftops! A quaint little tourist spot with plenty of options for food as well as some of the best ice cream in Canada! Back on the road for Victoria with more stops at some of the beautiful scenery along the way. Again we arrived in Victoria in the early evening. Julia dropped us off at our hostel and we got settled and checked in. After dinner we all met up for some drinks in one of the local spots. Day 4 and we all met up again, some of the group had gone whale watching while the rest of us headed to Chinatown with Julia leading the way. We stopped off at some historic spots and Julia gave us some interesting facts on the area and its history. It was at this point that I left the group and Julia. Another great thing about Moose is the flexibility. I booked an additional night in Victoria and would make my way back to Vancouver the following day. Julia was an awesome tour guide, I honestly can't praise her enough! Moose are a great company to travel with, there's a lot more flexibility than you would find with other companies, they want you to have a great time without being rushed through it. I'll be travelling with these guys again int he future!
