This experience totally surprised me by how fun it was! I went with low expectations, thinking it was a tourist trap. There was no lineup whatsoever. Customer service was great - the smiles and courtesy seemed genuine. We were herded into a cramped space for a 10-minute "show" about Iceland. Initially I thought that was it - which would have been a bummer. Instead, we were then shuffled into a lineup for the flyover space. The attendants, smiling and courteous as ever, politely exhorted us into checking our seat belt buckles numerous times, which was slightly unnerving. Sure enough, once the real show began and the floor dropped away below our feet, I understood why they were so thorough. We took off and seemingly dipped and swirled through the skies over Iceland - it was quite lovely and spectacular, and realistic to the point where I eventually felt nauseated. Was it worth it? Yes. The show is lovely with gorgeous visuals, music, and 100% worth doing alone for that but their customer service is horrible. 5/5 for the show and 1/5 for the customer service. Their employees should learn to count guests. We were a party of 2 at 7pm and because we were stuck between two large groups (either they over sold tickets or others sneaked in) and their employees miscounted, we were bumped from a flight and rescheduled for the last flight of the day at 9:30pm despite dinner reservations. They made this our problem despite this clearly being their issue. Counting can't be that hard or it can it? While they gave us a refund let's be honest they did not value our time. We were visiting from Seattle for a night and FlyOver was recommended by a local friend who lives in Vancouver. This a fun short, inexpensive, activity especially if you're in the area. I loved this. I'm a fan of the similar ride at Disneyland so it was a blast to do 2 rides back to back. My favorite was over Canada but Rocky mountain was wonderful too. I'd definitely do it again. Love the gift shop too- I always find something fun there. They do spray you with mist so if you are sensitive you might wear a mask and there's a bit of a jolt in over Canada - so prepare the youngsters since it's a little scary but not super scary. read more

A pricey but unexpectedly so given their target audience - touristy novel overview of Canada, which my kiddos and I enjoyed! Definitely book online tickets beforehand, since it looked like they sell out, especially during the summers, there are some promo codes floating around online but I ultimately sucked it up to we only live once. I mainly write this to absolutely recommend to head over early since the parking situation is awful and it's difficult to find the theater - basically at the very end of the pier (you'll feel like you're hopping on a cruise ship). While the FlyOver Canada experience was decent and organized (basically a longer version of Soaring at Disney California Adventures), the gift shop experience was awful. My kiddos and I wanted to legit purchase some of their overpriced items but the service were confused and inefficient. There was one person that could only accept credit cards, one person that spent at least 15 minutes to process a photo order, and another that was literally standing around. We took the kids here for the Soar with Santa experience. At first they were very scared when but they eased up midway. All the adults in our group were thrilled by the experience including my elderly MIL who has mobility issues. I'll agree it is bit pricey for the relatively short ride but overall it was enjoyable. I would give it a five star, but the actual ride is only 13 minutes when they advertise it's 25. You'll spend most of the time seeing a silly animation video and then lineup to go on the "flight". The keep cautioning about if you have back pain don't go and for that reason, my husband did not take it, but honestly, it was very relaxing and there was no jerking movements or anything like that. This was a super-cool simulated ride (very much like "Soaring" at Epcot, Disneyworld), and we loved it! The ride itself was about 10-15 minutes, but there was this video production prior to that took even longer? Very cool, but we thought that we could have skipped that part. Still, overall, Excellent! The only reason I'm giving less than 5 stars is because of the management. We purchased the voucher online (with no timed entry!), but once we got to the line, we were told that we'd have to wait over an hour. I just didn't understand why we couldn't get a timed entry beforehand?!? Luckily, the area surrounding this landmark activity was STUNNING... probably one of the best in Vancouver...with the harbor, the mountains, the whole works. As a child, I've seen Niagra Falls several times, but I've never really explored different parts of Canada...and well, I LOVED Vancouver, Canada! Would love to check out Toronto someday...and would fly over to any part of Canada for good if I could! read more

It's been years since I've been here but it's as amazing and magical as I remember it to be. This is an adults candy store. You sit there, so excited for the show to start and watch we mouth dropped open or smiling ear to ear. I've down FlyOver Canada and FlyOver America in previous years. This time around, I found out online, through December 2022, they're doing FlyOver Hawaii. It is 8 minutes long, the show itself, but totally worth every penny! They blow air at you so you can experience the scents of the islands. You fly over all Hawaiian islands and experience culture. It's beautiful, captivating and you just want to do it again. We really loved it! The intro to Fly Over Iceland was MUCH better than the intro to Fly Over Canada, but both main features were amazing!

It's good...but not amazing. It will definitely leave you with a strong sense of Canadian pride and admire the beauty and nature of Canada. I tried FlyOver Canada (there's also FlyOver Iceland). There was no wait for line-up (probably due to COVID-19 and the cold weather). The pre-show may have been newly added. However, it was not that great. It was just another video projected on the wall. Not like it was 3D or anything. Content is basically promoting Canadian life and geography. The actual ride was cool - but short. I personally thought the screen was a bit blurry or not bright enough. With the effects and camera angel of the video, at times it does feel like you are flying. It's not at all scary or anything though - so for those scared of rides...you can totally do it! My main concern is pricing. This costs $32 plus tax and for student pricing I paid ($27.30 with tax). Seems a bit overpriced in my opinion. The experience is good, but definitely not like wow factor. I'd pay maybe $15 to have a thrill, but for sure not $32 given the short ride (only few minutes of actual flying). This may be a good experience for first timer or those who are new to Canada. For others, you might want to try it once (they will open one in Toronto soon) but you probably won't do this over and over again. The view here is beautiful (see photo), you will have a good time at Canada Place regardless of this activity. read more

If you've ever been on Soarin' in any of the Disneyland's or Walt Disney World, this is the Canadian version. It's like a 4D theatre experience, you sit in seats that get raised to move around and make you feel as if you are hanging and gliding over Canada. As you journey across Canada, you can smell the ocean, wheat from a farm and evergreen trees in a forest and a few times you'll even get lightly spritzed with water. All in all it's a fun experience. We did the combo of both Flyover Canada and Hawaii From Above, it works out to about $30 per ride. Pricing is based on demand, so it will differ and always be cheaper booking online a week or two in advance, use their calendar to see how the price can fluctuate. The pre-ride experience is a video that you watch before they "load" you into your seats. The ride itself takes 8 minutes. Although that sounds short, it does feel like a longer experience. It's pretty cool, you venture across coast to coast to coast and revel in the beauty that is Canada. I really enjoyed the Hawaii From Above, the journey took the audience under water, which was also pretty cool. I think they switch up their feature rides, last year was Iceland and they have seasonal rides too for Halloween and Christmas. read more

I love FlyOver Canada and have been on it twice! It is a really fun, 4-dimensional ride. It feels like you are in a hang glider, flying over Canada. It is similar to Soarin' Around the World at Disney California Adventure. It is cheaper if you buy your tickets online instead of at the gate. They also have discounts for students, seniors, and military. On the website you will also have a specify a date and time. They offer times in 15 minute intervals. FlyOver Canada is at Canada Place, near the end of the pier. Luckily, there are plenty of signs around. You should try to arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment time. The first room you go to is a small theater with a 360 degree screen. There are a few wooden benches, but not enough seats for everyone. They play a short movie called UpLift, which features various scenes throughout Canada. After the movie, you head into a hallway where the ushers will put you into lines. The main ride contains several rows of seats. There is plenty of storage space under your seat to hold your belongings. Your seat gets lifted into the air and moves in all directions (your feet will dangle)! They show you beautiful Canadian landscapes on a huge screen and play music. It feels like you are really flying. It is 4-D because they added sensory elements like wind, mist, and smells. This part of the ride only lasts about 8 minutes. I think FlyOver Canada is really cool and you get a discount if you decide to ride it again. Sometimes they show a different movie, like Come Soar Over China for Chinese New Year or Fly Like Santa around Christmas. read more

Personally for me, I would skip this and save my money and spend it on food. If you have been on soaring over California, a Disneyland California ride, its similar, but to me, kinda pricey for what it is. Tickets were about $44, its a bit cheaper if you buy it online. When we went, most of the showings were sold out, so we had to wait around for our time slot. There are not many chairs/benches around in that area. Its more so at the end of the bridge, so after walking around Vancouver we needed a break, and the group thought this would be a good cool break for the group. Its about a 25 min show. When you finally get lined up to you show, they take a picture of your group with a green screen, an up sale opportunity. Then after that, you are walked into a room, where they just play a confusing intro. I was expecting something to happen the entire time. Its just projectors playing imagines all around you. Then you are finally seated in the ride, and it honestly felt like 15 mins to me. The whole time I was expecting something grand to happen. The only good part of the ride are the 3D effects. The scents, wind, water etc. Other than that, only because I have been on the disney ride, I was unimpressed. For a group of 6 people, I felt like it was too pricey for the short amount of time offered. read more

FlyOver Canada, Vancouver was an excellent experience. I had a ticket entry time at 5pm, arrived 5 minutes early and got right in. First they take you into a standing only room full of projected screens for a 3-5 minute intro video. Then they split you intro groups and take you to the "ride" which is a 10 minute experience. You sit in a row of seats and buckle in, then the walls close and you're extended over the edge into a globe screen area. Your seats twist and turn as Air and occasional mist is sprayed over you depending on the scene being played. I do see some people experiencing motion sickness, keep that in mind! I'm not sure what I expected, but this attraction exceeded those expectations. We arrived into Vancouver via ship and FlyOver Canada was at the same port. It's a very convenient location. I purchased tickets via Viator and we printed them out as directed, but you don't get a scheduled time when booking this way. When we arrived in line we were directed to go back to their ticketing area (inside their little gift shop) to exchange our paper vouchers for a ticket with a time slot. (So remember to do that if you book via a third party.) Once we got our time slot, we stood in a long outside line. This was December in Canada, so it was cold and rainy. The area is covered overhead but is still exposed to the elements, so be prepared. They did have heat lamps set up and the line moved rather quickly, so it was bearable. The first room was an introductory-type setting, which showed a video. Initially, I thought that was going to be all there was to this attraction and I was UPSET! Then we were moved into another room to queue entry into the main/ride area. Once on the ride, we strapped in, the lights when out, and the next thing I knew, we were soaring! There was some tilting and there was wind and mist. I felt like I was flying with the birds! I don't know how they do it; I don't know if the floor drops or if you move beyond the floor... But don't think too hard about the science behind it, just enjoy the ride. After the ride, we went back to their store and bought digital copies of our pictures for what I felt was a reasonable price. There are a lot of souvenirs in their gift shop, but you could find those anywhere so don't feel pressured to get something right then and there. It was my first time in Canada and this was an awesome introduction to the country. It was so much fun! I thoroughly enjoyed this virtual soar, and I would definitely do it again! read more

Despite the entire experience of the attraction lasting just 30 minutes - with just 10 minutes of actual ride time - I would still recommend if you're a visitor to Vancouver. A cost of $23 per adult is on the somewhat pricey end, but don't get me wrong... it was fun, just not nearly long enough. I don't want to give away too much, but before the ride, you'll view a short movie which showcases some city and nature scenes to get you prepped for the main event. Then you'll organize into seating arrangements, so be sure to stay close to your group. As always with these types of rides, they play a safety video, which is actually pretty engaging. At least a couple of us thought so, but we were the only ones laughing at the "funny" clips. Now for the ride itself, which is exactly like Disney's Soarin'... With your feet dangling in the air, the simulation really does mirror flying through the scenic views and cityscapes of Canada enhanced by various sensations and scents. However, I had no idea what sites we were flying over, so it would be helpful if a caption of each location appeared on the screen. We soared over mountains, fields and rivers, but I couldn't tell you which ones. During the ride, phones are supposed to be placed away, however we did notice that there were a couple people trying to film their flight. To each their own, but rewatching the video on your phone will not nearly be the same as experiencing it in-person, so might as well just be present in the moment and enjoy! :) read more

Nice to do the ride one time, but based on what I experienced I would not ride it again. I expected to see more sights of the beautiful country of Canada. Rather disappointed that the sights of Montreal were not shown. Would have been cool to feature more of the Maritime provinces like New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI. I am guessing they change the sight locations from time to time. For sure, it gets better. Your experience will probably be an improvement over mine. read more

Didn't know what to expect before going in. Once entered, they show you a short film of different clips of random things (Like a commercial almost). And after that you will be lead to another room for the "real" experience I'd say. Then the fun begins, I really enjoyed the visual ride! They said it will be about 25mins so I thought the ride will last as long, but it was only 10 mins tops so that was a bit disappointing as I wish it lasted longer. I guess the whole experience is counted 25mins not just the ride itself. Nonetheless it was a cool thing to do and worth the money we spent. Yes yes and yes!!!! Super impressive! So great! While exploring beautiful Vancouver, before our ship set sail to Alaska, we saw the sign for this interesting "FlyOver Canada"... we weren't sure what it was, but was thinking it was an airplane thing. Not interested BUT we ran into my sister and her family, who had just been on it, and they said YES, we need to check it out!! So, we did, and we were not sorry at all. This is Disneyland-esque (similar to Soaring Over California or Soarin' Over the World). You strap yourself firmly into a comfy chair and off you go to see the wonderful sights, sounds and smells of Canada's finest attractions. Feet dangling, you chair swoops and glides over snowcapped mountains, glimpses waterfalls and rivers, wildlife and even good ol' human Canadians! Being a Disneyland Annual Passholder, I will honestly say that this ride felt more comfortable and impressive than the one in California Adventure (just sayin' ...) My boyfriend has never been on anything like it and he was in awe of the entire experience. I think $25 is a bit much, but it helps with upkeep and paying the bills, so I guess it's all relative. If you have your luggage with you, they will ask you to "check your bags", so you'll leave it with them outside and get a claim ticket to pick up after the movie and ride is over. I also felt like the movie prior to the actual ride was kind of weird, but it did give us something to do while waiting in line and we were inside where it was nice and cool.... so no complaints, just was eh. I had no idea what sights I was seeing during the actual experience, but it sure did profile a lot of gorgeous and interesting spots!! It's a spectacular ride and made me proud of that which Canada has to offer in variety and vastness. This should, however, be called FlyOver part of Canada. The furthest east the ride takes you is Toronto. My Canada includes Quebec, the Maritimes, Newfoundland and Labrador. I hope that they will update the film in the future to capture the five provinces they are missing, to say nothing of our three territories too. My girlfriend was really excited about Flyover Canada, and it did not disappoint! You sit in a seat that's lifted off the ground while an I-Max style screen plays beautiful scenery, occasionally spritzing water in your face to fit the video. There were strobe lights in the pre-flight video, and this ride could be uncomfortable to those with vestibular issues. Also pretty pricy, but we get it, it's a touristy thing. Lots of fun though!
