This is a very popular spot for ice cream, especially because they're open late. On my last visit, I got the Mango Sticky Rice ice cream, which I really enjoyed. The person serving me was very friendly and let me sample several flavors so I could find one I liked. My only real con with Van Leeuwen is that I find the flavors can be a bit hit or miss. If it's busy, it can sometimes take a while to settle on a flavor, especially since they frequently rotate in seasonal offerings. Overall, this location was nice, clean, and well-maintained. I love this location. It's super close to a bunch of dinner spots in the area and it's easy to get here during a quick after-dinner stroll. I usually come here with friends to check for new flavors or to share a scoop or two. We got a 3- scoop cup this time for $10 since we wanted to taste 3 flavors. We got the coffee affogato, the dark chocolate fudge brownie, and the cookies and crème flavors. I liked the chocolate flavor the most but would honestly go back for any of them. They have gender neutral restroom as well that's locked with a code but the cashier is super quick to give you the code. This location gets the job done. I have never been here when there has been a line. The most annoying thing about this location is that their parking situation can be very challenging. Also, I've been here a couple times and had to provide very clear instructions around how my shake should be made. On two different occasions, it was made so milky that it didn't even taste like the damn black cherry chip ice cream that I love. Other than that, it's your standard Van Leeuwen. Also tried the Italian hazelnut and there are whole hazelnuts inside which made it very hard to chew. I've always been a huge fan of caramel so of course vegan cookies and cream caramel swirl was a favorite. What I liked about the vegan banana bread pudding were the little chunks of bread pudding in the ice cream but that's about it. Not a bad ice cream at all it just didn't meet my expectations and definitely comparing it to the cookies and cream, it was hard to beat! I plan to visit again to try the other vegan flavors.
