The netted egg rolls and banh khot came with a baggie of greens: lettuce and fresh herbs. I thought everything was tasty, but if I'm being honest, it still wasn't on SoCal level. All our food was solid, though my friend found a hair halfway into her netted egg roll. She set it aside and tried not to think about further. We also ordered a sugar cane and passion fruit tea which was refreshing. They ran out of pandan waffles so we got the cookies to go (meh). Mostly a to-go establishment with party trays available. They do have a couple small tables and chairs if you want to eat there while it's fresh though.

I loved having that extra variety to switch up the flavors throughout the meal. Yummmm. The Bun Cha Ha Noi comes in either a small ($28) or large ($47). Our server told us the small would be enough for two people, so that's what we ordered. When it arrived, it was a huge plate filled with fresh vegetables, noodles, and meat. Bonus: it also came with rice paper!!! I immediately loved this place even more. Since my boyfriend doesn't eat much of the herbs and vegetables, we went through the noodles and meat pretty quickly while sharing. I can definitely see how the small could feed two people if you're using all of the veggies, herbs, noodles and rice paper to make wraps. For us, though, we could've easily handled the large! We ended up ordering the chicken wings with garlic fish sauce afterward, and they were over. Wasn't a big fan but we finished it. Next time, we'll definitely be ordering the large Bun Cha platter and hopefully bringing more people with us so we can try more of their extensive menu!

Overall, the service is definitely on the slower side, it took about 30 minutes just for my order to come out. For food, I ordered the Dac Biet (#1) to sample a bit of everything. "I TOLD YOU ABOUT THAT PLACE!!"…read more To be honest, I had no idea that my well intended text to tell one of my best friends about my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in SJ would trigger such a response from her. While she might think otherwise, I genuinely had no recollection of her apparently telling me about this place all of those years ago! Regardless, though, in the end, the joke is clearly on me because it took me so long to come here a couple of years ago. However, evidenced by the number of dishes I've ended up trying here, I'd like to think I've made up for some of that lost time! Even though they aren't far off or hidden away, it feels like Thien Long is easy to overlook, especially given how congested their complex can get. Yet, despite how busy their parking lot can get, the restaurant itself is surprisingly large, as they have a bunch of tables for groups large or small (we've never had to wait). What's more, the menu here is AWESOME. Beyond just the normal slate of appetizers, pho, noodle soups, rice plates, and vermicelli bowls, it also has a terrific selection of specialties and entrees that aren't super common. In particular, their signature Bun Cha Ca La Vong is something I've only seen at a handful of places (and pricier ones, at that). -- (#A2) CHA GIO - Fried Vietnamese Egg Rolls...$6 Probably the least impressive thing I've had here, but it was still perfectly fine. While the portion felt a little light, the filling tasted okay, the egg roll was crispy, and I liked that it wasn't all that oily. -- (#17) PHO GA DAI - Rice Noodle Soup w/ Chicken Meat and Organs...$17.95 (large) I don't know if me being sick had anything to do with it, but this really hit the spot. The soup felt so warm and homely and I love how there was a good balance and amount of chicken and noodles. -- (#31) BUN CHA HANOI - BBQ Pork & Pork Patties with Thin Noodles...$17.95 I've been on the hunt for a version of this as good as my go-to spot's in SF that closed and this is easily the best I've found so far. The pork patties are really juicy and I liked the bit of char on the BBQ pork. Plus, they sure didn't skimp on the amount of leaves or meat. -- (#36A & #36B) THIT BO XAO HANH HUONG CUON BANH TRANG (Thien Long Stir Fried Beef & Onions) & BUN CHA CA LA VONG (Grilled Fish) with Thin Noodles, Vegetables, and Rice Paper...$35.95 We saw another table get a half & half order and knew we had to do the same to try both. While the slices of beef were good, the "grilled" (fried) fish was the absolute star. Each piece was lightly breaded, well seasoned with turmeric, and very flakey. -- (#3) PHO CHIN, NAM, GAU, GAN - Rice Noodle Soup with Well Done Brisket, Flank, Plate, and Tendon...$17.50 (large) This may not have been the best I've had, but this isn't far behind. The broth is beefy and rich, yet not that fatty/greasy, and I love how the bowl came loaded with a balanced ratio of meats to noodles. -- (#32) BUN CHA CA THIT NUONG - Grilled Fish, BBQ Pork, and Vegetables with Thin Noodles...$18.95 Essentially the combination of two of my favorite Vietnamese dishes anywhere, which is perfect for when I can't decide on what to get. The only things missing are the Pork Patties and the rice paper, but you can't have it all. -- (#56B) COM TAM DAC BIET - Pork Chop, Shredded Pork, Fried Shrimp Cake, and Steamed Egg Loaf with Broken Rice...$18.95 This wasn't the best one I've had, but it's definitely up there. The Pork Chop was really flavorful, the Shrimp Cake was crispy, the Egg Loaf was super thick, and I love how they gave a side of soup, which a lot of places don't typically do. Along with how delicious the food is, the other thing that I like about Thien Long is the service. Not only are all of the workers and servers really nice, but they're surprisingly attentive. Plus, the restaurant always looks and feels so clean! The only thing about Thien Long that I hate, besides the parking and how far away they are from me (I'd come here far more than I should if they were closer), is how they've essentially set an impossible standard for most pho joints to match. Really, they all just seem so basic now that I know how much more I can get here, both in terms of taste and menu options. Over the years, I've been more than happy to make the drive down here and I'm more than happy to keep doing it to get my fix of my Vietnamese favorites. Which is really something these days considering how gas is currently $eleventy dollars a gallon (#pain).

I noticed cobwebs that appeared to have been hanging in place for a long time, along with dirt and grime collecting in corners throughout the dining room. Even the menus felt sticky, with a visible film of grease and small food particles still clinging to them. The faded print and worn condition made them look as though they hadn't been replaced in years. Those details created an impression of neglect that made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. With a thorough deep cleaning and some updated menus, this restaurant could create a much more welcoming dining experience. To start I asked them if they could put a lot of cilantro and jalapeño in it I would pay extra, but I like a lot of cilantro and jalapeño in my sandwiches when I receive the sandwiches, they were super small and tiny portions and barely put any cilantro and jalapeño in it, which wasn't that big of a deal, but the bread was super tiny and real crispy and stale. I thought maybe it was an off day because some people have their off days, but I went onto yelp and seen that everybody was saying the same thing about the bread being crunchy and harder not like the TikToker said that it was super soft and different from other places. I looked at pictures on Yelp from post previously and it looks like they changed their bread or use a different bread that is cheaper than before is the only explanation. Very small portions especially for the price. I definitely would go across the street to Duc Huong for better flavor, portions and bread. I recently moved to Sacramento and they have another location out there for.Duc Huong and it's the same owner, but they have super soft bread. In my opinion it is the best Banh Mi I have ever had and would recommend if you're ever in the Sacramento area to try it. I'm sorry for the bad review but it was very disappointing because I went there and bought four different sandwiches to try everything or almost everything and it did not live up to the Hype. Ok so I actually am going to edit my review because one of my sandwiches actually had soft bread the one that had egg in it so maybe options that have grilled meat of eggs might be soft bread options or they are using different bread for different choice options. I went in Wednesday evening to ask about pricing for 100 egg rolls to be picked up Friday at 10:45 AM. The price was reasonable at $175 for 100 pieces. I also asked if the egg rolls could be cut in half. The employee told me no because of how they would look and because the lettuce could become messy. I accepted that and figured we would cut them ourselves. I also tried to get a copy of the receipt, but the employee told me to just take a picture of it instead. I specifically let him know ahead of time that my mom would be picking up the order on Friday. When Friday came, my mom contacted me at work because there was confusion about the pickup date. She was told the order was supposed to be ready the following day, even though I had clearly ordered it for Friday. Another employee apparently told her they could prepare the order in about 20 minutes. This became a bigger issue because the event was scheduled for 11:30 AM, and the order was supposed to be picked up at 10:45 AM specifically to allow enough time to bring everything to the event. Because of the confusion and delay, the food was not ready as planned, which delayed the actual event. As the person hosting the birthday event, it was frustrating and honestly brought down my mood because I was trying to make sure everything went smoothly for everyone. Unfortunately, when my mom picked up the egg rolls, she found that they were crispy on the outside but not fully cooked inside. They also weren't as crispy as expected. It seemed like the order was rushed to get it prepared quickly. To make matters worse, we were not even given any dipping sauce for the egg rolls. For an order of 100 egg rolls costing $175, I would have expected the order to be complete and include the appropriate sauce, especially since I had placed the order in advance for a birthday event. For $175, I expected 100 properly cooked egg rolls, ready at the agreed-upon time, and a complete order. I understand that mistakes and miscommunication can happen, but when you're placing a large order in advance, you expect the order to be ready on the correct day, prepared properly, and ready at the agreed-upon time. The pricing was decent, but the combination of the communication issues, delay, rushed preparation, partially cooked egg rolls, and lack of dipping sauce made the experience very disappointing. I would have much rather waited a little longer for the order to be properly prepared than receive 100 egg rolls that weren't fully cooked and have to deal with missing items afterward. What a way to celebrate my birthday.

This establishment has been here at the corner of Story + McLaughin Ave for as long as I can remember and although the business could use a refresh facelift, nothing changes the fact that the food is undeniably FIRE!! Now with that said, I only come here strictly for Thien Huongs thit nuong [vietnamese grilled pork]. The flavors are deliciously untouchable and cannot be replicated. It is smoky, savory, with a hint of sweetness, and 100% tender through and through. Thien Huong is the home of BUY 3 GET 1 FREE, which totally trumps Duc Huong's deal of buying 4 large sandwiches and getting 1 FREE. Service is quick but parking kind of sucks and the custom service is still consistently unfriendly. Personally, I can deal with the grumpy female staff when something so delicious is awaiting. 5/5 stars. Bonus points because the staff isn't stingy with the pickled carrots and daikon. Thien Huong, you's the real MVP!!!

I preferred the pork one because it was substantial, so fresh. All the bread and veggies were fresh. The pork is flavorful adn so delicious! The roti chicken was good too but I had way too many bone pieces/tendon pieces in mine. That was the only downer but everything else was AMAZING. Loved the quantity and quality of the veggies and herbs. So delicious.

They have meat filling, shrimp topping, fried shallot topping, and plain to choose from. It comes with the nuoc mam cham sauce. They also have cha lua and fried shallots if you want. I love picking up the Banh Cuon and Banh Uot from this location, stopping by Duc Huong to get some cha lua, and then to the Asian Live Seafood Market to pick up beansprouts, cucumbers, and Thai basil. Everything in the same plaza! Once I get all the ingredients, I come home and quickly prep and eat. It's definitely more affordable than eating out at the banh cuon restaurants.

Located in Sun Plaza off King Road…read more We were going to Asian Live Seafood Market and decided to drop by Lo Banh Cuon Thanh Tri to pick up some banh cuon. I think this is their 3rd location. I used to go to the one on Santa Clara Street when I was a kid, then migrated to the Senter Road location since it was newer and cleaner. Now this spot opened up! We got there a little before 10am on a Saturday and there was one lady before us. The storefront is pretty small, so we just waited outside until it was our turn. They only had a small selection of banh cuon.. there wasn't much left in the trays so we just picked what they had left.. I was pretty skeptical at first.. We got.. BANH HANH $6/lb -steamed rice rolls with fried shallots BANH TOM $6.50/lb -steamed rice rolls with toasted shrimp flakes Both were fresh and soft! The quality and taste is identical to the Senter Road location. YES. They gave us a container of fish sauce for the banh cuon but I like to make my own at home. It's convenient though if you're lazy or just short on time. This is a TO-GO place, so you just buy your banh cuon by the pound, as well as any extra sides you want (like cha lua/steamed pork roll-$7.50, hanh phi/fried shallots-$5), then assemble and eat at home. Glad they opened this newer location so we can pick up fresh banh cuon whenever we're craving and in the area! It's conveniently located next to the market and Duc Huong, so we can pick up all the essentials to make a plate of banh cuon at home.

I've been coming to this location since it was under Thanh Lan. It seemed they were catching up on orders and that was no problem, I was willing to wait for my turn. I stood behind the customer who was getting helped for 15 mins. Clearly, we were the only ones there for the longest time and I am standing directly behind her, so it was obvious I was suppose to get helped after. When I was next in line, the older lady turns to a different customer who just came in and took his order??? I don't know if she assumed I was there for pickup and pickup orders weren't ready yet and therefore ignored me, but I was standing in the store behind the previous customer for the longest time! To make things worse, they were so overwhelmed that the older lady was yelling at the other employee for making mistakes on orders. I really didn't care to order anymore and just left. I noticed they have logos on their banh mi now, so maybe they're working on rebranding or maybe they are still getting use to online delivery app orders, but that visit was just unacceptable. I only really order from here for the memories, otherwise the baguette is hard and the sandwich itself is just okay. They should work on improving management and customer service first.
