Had Steve's need and phone in my address book as a friend had recently recommended the shop. Called AAA and had the car towed there - having never been there before. Talked to Steve on the phone and explained what had happened just prior to the car dying. He said he would take a look at it - but off the top of his head it could be a fan belt, the battery or the alternator. Early afternoon - call from Steve - car fixed - it was the alternator $303 (the part was $185). Went to pick it up at the end of the day...couldn't have been nicer - answered a few questions I had, gave me an estimate on additional work I need done in the future (which I requested - he did not suggest it) Bottom line - great service, honesty, integrity and fair prices. These are a lost art in car repair. The shop is a true working shop- don't expect a cutesie waiting area and crap like that - this is a place where real mechanics work. Grease, grime, parts, cars and tools - and the shop dog too :) Home run for this place.

He's never done that before so I knew it was something that had to be done. Great place to take your car. We had been taking the Mercedes ML 350 across the lake to the Mandeville for service and thought it might have been from the recent oil change. They said that it was a "bad rear main seal" and would be ~$900 to repair. I decided to get a second opinion. My regular mechanic, Henry at Automotive Services does not do this type of work on Mercedes so he recommended Lindsey Automotive around the corner. I spoke with Eddie and he said that he did not believe it would be a bar rear seal but a defective cap that he has been seeing a lot of lately on that model. He said it would be significantly cheaper. We took the car in and it did turn out to be just the bad cap which will cost $275 to replace (instead of the ~900 quoted on the BS repair). Also, when you are there, Eddie is usually working on an amazing assortment of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porches, Maseratis, etc. We spent 10 minutes just taking pictures of cars.
