Last year, my mother and I both bought trees here, recut the trunk and watered them everyday. My tree died within a WEEK while hers stayed looking beautiful well after Christmas. There was no difference in how we set them up or cared for them. I emailed Valley View a week after I got my tree to let them know what happened, but no one responded. I emailed them two more times, still no reply. I tried calling them, but was told they could not help me. I went in person back to the lot where I bought it and was told that "I heard last year's trees looked pretty bad" and "once you buy it, the purchase is final". We have been going to Whitfill for over 20 years now! Not only do we go to them during the holidays but rely on them throughout the year when we need additional plants and trees for our backyard. We first started using Whitfill back in the early 2000's when they were on 40th street south of Roeser. We literally lived across the street from their nursery and when they moved to their current spot on Southern we followed! We have decades of photos with our boys standing next to the tree they choose for Christmas and the tradition continues now with our Sphynx cats! They used to have a peacock walking around but unfortunately he is no longer there. They are pet friendly and we are comfortable taking our cats there in the stroller. Not only are their prices and tree selections the best in town but their customer service and knowledge of anything tree related is vast! They know what they are doing and don't try to upsell or get you to buy unnecessary items. They are the real deal!

To get in is $20 each which to me, is a little pricey. There should be kid pricing in my opinion. Parking is ok. They did let a car in front of us hold the line up to wait for a car to leave but when we tried to do it, they made us move. Understandable but rules should be the same for everyone. Most staff was nice. On the way out, they asked about taking a family photo. We declined. My son was on the props I guess (it wasn't labeled and no one was there taking pictures) and one staff was like "this is where we take our pictures just so you know." That was interesting. So I decided to investigate having a tree delivered and found Valley View. I spoke with a friendly woman there and told her what I wanted. She suggested a Noble Fir and I scheduled it to be delivered several days before Christmas. The delivery man arrived on time, brought the tree into my house and set it up in my living room. It fit perfectly, and was really beautiful. Plus, it was very fresh, and even a week after Christmas, it has hardly dropped any needles. Of course, the price is a bit more than buying a tree at Home Depot, but this was SO much better! I'm very happy and will definitely have another tree delivered for Christmas next year!
