Lovely neighborhood park in Hermosa Beach -- decent size and beautifully maintained. There are clean bathrooms, a nice playground (with equipment for younger and older kids), and a basketball court with metal backboards and rigid hoops. The court doesn't have lights, though the promenade/path around the park is lit at night. There's also a very well-kept picnic area with picnic tables and even two sinks, which is a great touch. Street parking is free, though it can fill up quickly depending on the time of day. Dogs on leash are welcome, and it's a beautiful neighbourhood to walk through as well. Few blocks down, you can reach the beach too and continue with a nice stroll there.

Valley Park appears to be the largest park in Hermosa Beach but I could be mistaken. It was fairly busy on Memorial Day weekend but not superbusy. The facilities are above average with a large playground, picnic area and up to date toilet facility with a purpose built water dispenser. The area is nice and fairly safe. The one negative is the 4 stop intersection(Ardmore, Valley & Gould sts.)next to the park is very congested and dangerous with many bad drivers speeding, failing to stop at the stop signs and not paying attention to pedestrians and bicyclists; so be careful if you're in the latter two groups entering or exiting the park. Recommended.

Valley Park, located in a residential area of Hermosa Beach is just adorable. It it not huge, but a good size. It is known well by the locals. My grandson and I happened upon it on a drive one day. It is so pretty. It has lovely trees and a full area of kids things to do. The place is kept super clean and it is a very safe park. What is super cool is the ice cream truck comes by every day and it will take you back to childhood. There is something to do for everyone and if you just want to relax, there is plenty of space to lay out a blanket and have lunch or do whatever you want. We love this place.

Recently I came across this quote: "Sometimes when you're in a dark place, you think you've been buried, but actually you've been planted." (unknown) Leave it to the decently-sized Valley Park in Hermosa Beach to somehow make me feel more connected with nature... especially the trees that grow parallel to the ground then rise up. Not sure what those are called (posting a photo of one with this review), but they are great for climbing, according to my kiddos. As of September 12, 2021, free street parking for up to 6 hours is available on both Valley Drive and Gould Avenue. Two electric vehicle chargers are in the parking lot of the Rotary and Kiwanis Club buildings (Valley Drive). Fairly close to the beach. The restrooms, while not as clean as I anticipated, were open and nearest to the sandy pit playground. There is a basketball court and soccer goal posts. Lots of grass and hills. Some picnic tables, charcoal grills, and benches. Walking path that cuts across the park, not around it. Saw lots of dogs on leashes. Lone pitfall: Even in Hermosa Beach, there are several disposable gloves and face masks lying around everywhere. So tired of this scene. Please pack it, pack it out even at public parks.

Such a cute little park! Lotsssss of picnic benches all around the park, a play area for kids, big grassy area for soccer/frisbee, and a basketball court. I think there was a bathroom facility as well! Lots of free parking on streets nearby. I parked here and went for a run along the beach (it's less than a half mile from the boardwalk) and then stretched in the park after and read at one of the benches for a while. The play area was super active but you could get to quieter parts of the park as well. Great place to bring kids!

It is the largest and most used park in the area, which features a play set for kids of all ages, picnic tables, barbecue grills, basketball court and plenty of field space for all types of recreational activities, and free six hour parking is available on Gould Avenue.

This park is great for all ages of kids. My sons both love the fire truck - they could play on it all day. There are swings for babies and kiddies, a toddler play-set and a regular sized play-set, things to climb on, things to bounce on, rocks to jump on, sand to play with. Easy to watch your kids too as it's pretty open. I have also had a birthday party here in the picnic area with a BBQ and sink. It's great! You must reserve in advance and they will also allow bouncy houses. They also have restroom facilities and large fields to run around in. Only downside - parking can be a beyotch in the summer months. If you go early it's not a problem though.

I won't elaborate too much on the Lakers, Kobe, and his daughter because everyone would be aware of the essence of this place. The mural of Kobe and his daughter smiling beautifully captures the power of love between father and daughter. The court floor is painted in yellow and purple, matching the Lakers' theme perfectly. What an inspiring and grateful gift to the community. Lucky you, Anaheim! There's a glass backboard on each side of the basketball hoop. The floor is made of plastic material similar to beer bottle racks, making it non-slippery and great for safety, especially when performing ankle-breaking crossover moves. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 despite it being stunningly beautiful and the only full court available. The issue is that when groups of 10 show up, smaller groups get pushed out with nowhere else to go. After shooting around for a few minutes at half court, my son and I were forced to move aside when 10 people suddenly decided to play full court. This is a public court, so I don't mind sharing. However, with no other full courts in the area, we had no choice but to step off. I would have loved to reserve the next game, but we were there for my son's practice, so the timing wasn't right. Maybe next time we'll join in for some 5-on-5 with the older crowd!

The manager, Andreas Forslund, explicitly told my friend that although the original party slot was 2-4 PM, we could stay until 6 PM because there were no other events scheduled. Based on that assurance, food was ordered, guests were invited, and families planned their afternoon around that timeframe. At 4:20 PM, a man who had booked the venue for 4:30 PM approached our party raising his voice, aggressively demanding that we leave. This happened in front of guests and children. Shockingly, Shoot 360 staff did absolutely nothing to intervene or de-escalate the situation. They allowed this man to continue yelling at our group. We were then forced to pack up immediately!!Guests were sent home without eating, and the cake wasn't even cut. The families literally left hungry. The celebration was abruptly ended with zero notice, despite what the manager had promised. Only after the damage was done did Andreas Forslund state that the general manager rented out the space without his knowledge. That internal miscommunication is not the customer's responsibility! Yet we were the ones who paid the price. To make matters worse, my friend was not reimbursed despite them completely ruining an important milestone birthday. This was an embarrassing, chaotic, and heartbreaking way to conduct business. Poor communication, no accountability, no customer care, and no respect for families or children. Do not book parties here. If something goes wrong, they will not protect your event or take responsibility.

As a mom, I look forward to it week after week! Coach Kaitlin, Coach Miguel and Coach Eric are awesome!! They teach fundamentals, how to win and lose, a work ethic and discipline! My son has been going since he was 4, and in two years, he's improved so much and has so much fun playing on a team. They don't speak to your children with respect. There is constant berating and talking down to children. A child in the class asked a reasonable question and the instructor responded sarcastically. The instructors clearly expect the children to misbehave and believe punishment and threats is the way to get what they want. It reminded me of a boot camp with drill sergeants, which is not something I want for any young child. 2. It's chaotic. They split the class into 3 stations with different instructors. They don't clearly explain the drills and then punish children for doing it wrong. Going pack to the previous point, they intentionally don't or are incapable of answering the children's questions properly, which further confuses the children. Also, one of the instructors brings her two young children, the younger of which cries and demands her attention during the session. She eventually picks her child up and tries rocking the child to sleep while attempting to do basketball drills with the students. I thought this was a one-off but its happened week after week. 3. They end the class with a silly chant. Needless to say, we cut our losses and stopped going. I didn't want my kid to hate basketball.

The doors opened at 4p and the movie was to begin at dusk. Due to the entrance being off a street, the ESPD were kind enough to cordon off an entire lane of El Segundo Blvd so we could have a safe lane to walk on. Parking for disabled guests were IN the park and the rest of the parking was across the street. There were lots of activities for kids available as well as a beer/wine booth for the grown follks. Food booths were also available and ranged from tacos to pizza to funnel cake. The movie ended up starting around 830p. Luckily, all those activities (and beer) were available to occupy all the families out. We didn't quite make it through the movie, but, good times were had by all! This is a nice quaint park…read more The only downside to it could be the choice of ground covering, being wood chips. I prefer stable soft cork, rubber or foam flat surfaces. The wood can get stuck in socks or irritate the skin or feet on contact. Also, it seems like it could be a breeding ground for germs, animal feces, mold or insects. I know Pollywog across the street uses shredded ribber tires, which isn't much better and some park play areas use sand. I think what Anderson Park in Redondo Beach, about 5 mins away from this park uses the best ground covering flooring. The play area is nice with swings and slides, probably ideal for 6 and younger. There is also a challenging rock climbing wall. In addition there is a professional quality baseball field as well as a basketball court, both outdoors. There is an adjacent recreation center, the home of Super Kids Gymnastics (used to be one weekday and one weekend class) in a nice auditorium set-up. Parking is fairly easy, especially the street parking in the surrounding residential neighborhood. This park re-opened in October 2020, but has a Covid-19 mask mandate to wear face shields or masks as protective covering for anyone entering the play area, both children and accompanying adults. I'm not sure how that is policed or what the penalty is for disobedience. Fortunately, most of the time, this isn't an over-crowded park playground since across the street is the bigger Pollywog Park. It's almost a hidden 'lil secret parkette.
