Big, open grassy area

Nice park in Redondo Beach with a nice kids play area. Clean and well maintained. They have several picnic benches and tables. They have 2 basketball hoops as well. However, there are no bathrooms here and no dedicated parking lot, it's all street parking. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all.

Sunnyglen Park is a perfect size neighborhood park that's got just about everything. There is fitness/walking course that we like to take a stroll on, plenty of green space for a game of touch football or kiting, basketball courts, baseball diamond, kid,s sandbox and a picnic/bbq area. You will know you are at the right park when you see the tilted patio canopy. Apparently the ground has been sinking for a long time now and the structure is seriously tilted. Not a problem... that is until it tilts on to you. Next time? Maybe I'll bring my cat to take doggie obedience classes.

Cute neighborhood park, in full use when I was there last Saturday morning. I took almost 20 photos. It's not flat, it has grassy knolls, and I appreciate knolls! Haha, and some nice shade trees too. There's a fitness course, although the park is not large, and people were using it.....apparently even a trainer with a client. There was a picnic in progress at the covered picnic area, young parents with a couple of little kids. The little girl was on the kiddie play equipment, and the dad was trying to teach his son to shoot hoops on the nearby basketball court. The mom was fixing the food at one of the tables. I thought it was so cool that they came to this smallish park for a day's outing, just to chill with the kids. Thing is....all these nice facilities and I saw no bathrooms anywhere. Not even a porta potty. So I assume the people in the park weren't staying too long, or didn't drink coffee, or lived closeby and went home to use the restroom. Sunnyglen also has a ball field, in the center of the grassy park space. And small picnic areas are scattered throughout the park, complete with barbecues. One of them even had wheelchair access (see pic), very cool. Nice park, needs a potty to make it perfect. 19 photos

Giving a one star because there were so many parents and children not wearing masks. Too bad, this is a cute park. We will not return.

this is where I come to jog when I can... the only drawback is that the lights aren't always on when it gets dark

This is honestly my favorite place! It is quite and relaxing. Even though it is a small park it is very spread out so you have space!

A locals favorite! It's been a while since I've taken a walk here and I can see that they are…read morebuilding more spaces for folks to play and get active. They currently have a wide walkway to get your steps in, multiple baseball fields, batting cages, tennis and pickleball courts, a street hockey field, outdoor equipment, and plenty of tables next to an outdoor cooking area. Of course, a fun playground for the kiddos. Right next to it was a pleasant surprise- a free little library! It was a little empty but I'm sure folks will add to it soon. Highly recommend you checking this park out this summer.

This park is spacious. Has picnic tables, aquatic facilities, basketball court, pickel ball and a good outdoor stage presentation facility for events. Place fits over a 1000 people at this outdoor event venue. Bring your pop up tent and your fold up chairs to feel comfortable. With that said, my #1 gripe about this park, only two unisex toilets available! Who would put a 2 person bathroom with a cipher code that can accidentally lock. These two bathrooms is stationed like a miniature hut stationed by the entertainment area. Who ever engineered these bathrooms should be reprimanded. It was a dumb idea for cipher codes to be implemented. One bathroom was accidently locked with no one in there! Terrible idea. Over a 1000 people and only as two restrooms nearby! If you had to use the use restrooms.. you have to walk in the other side of the park where the picnic area is located. It is quite a walk! Walked or wait 30 minutes. Overall, its comfortable park minus the restroom situation.

There's a community garden here with free mulch. There's a basketball court as well. I noticed lots of folks doing tai chi here. I also noticed groups of nannies meeting up here with their kids. There's no sand, dirt or wood chips at the playground area. The bad: One of the four swings could've used WD40. It was very squeaky. There was a man on the bench by the playground alone with a book who looked to be video recording the playground. I wasn't sure if it was innocent and he was potentially just video chatting with someone and showing them where he was but I was suspicious that a man would come alone and choose a bench by the loud children's play area to read rather than sit at one of the many other benches further away for a quiet space to read. The interesting: There's plenty of street parking. The playground is flat.

There are also walking paths that are great for riding bikes and scooters. The play area is pretty small for such a large park but it has the basic essentials and the kids had fun. Probably wouldn't make it a point to try to go to this park, but a good choice if you're in the area. Hope you check it out and enjoy!
