I can't say enough about Hoops413! I think I have told every mom and dad in the South Bay that I meet...Hahaha! In all seriousness, we LOVE this basketball clinic! As a mom, I look forward to it week after week! Coach Kaitlin, Coach Miguel and Coach Eric are awesome!! I am so competitive, emotional and a sore loser, and unfortunately (or fortunately), my son inherited this traits from me. All of these coaches are helping him with that. They teach fundamentals, how to win and lose, a work ethic and discipline! My son has been going since he was 4, and in two years, he's improved so much and has so much fun playing on a team. And...it's nice that they end every class with a team chant, "My dream, His Glory!" We love the faith based messages built in. read more

My kid loves basketball so I sent my kid here due to the high ratings. I wish it were better. Here are the flaws that I think everyone should be aware of prior to signing up: 1. They don't speak to your children with respect. There is constant berating and talking down to children. A child in the class asked a reasonable question and the instructor responded sarcastically. The instructors clearly expect the children to misbehave and believe punishment and threats is the way to get what they want. It reminded me of a boot camp with drill sergeants, which is not something I want for any young child. 2. It's chaotic. They split the class into 3 stations with different instructors. They don't clearly explain the drills and then punish children for doing it wrong. Going pack to the previous point, they intentionally don't or are incapable of answering the children's questions properly, which further confuses the children. Also, one of the instructors brings her two young children, the younger of which cries and demands her attention during the session. She eventually picks her child up and tries rocking the child to sleep while attempting to do basketball drills with the students. I thought this was a one-off but its happened week after week. 3. They end the class with a silly chant. Needless to say, we cut our losses and stopped going. I didn't want my kid to hate basketball. read more

A wonderful basketball program for children in the South Bay. My son has improved immensely over the last year, and that is hugely in part due to the amazing, committed, and loving coaches at Hoops413. Coach Miguel and Kaitlin put together an incredible team of coaches--many of which are in high school themselves--who've dedicated their Saturdays to teaching the next generation of children and athletes. It's been so fun to see my son grow and learn, and especially make his first basket! A big thank you to Coach Miguel, Kaitlin, Eric, Corey, Ben, and Dylan. I can't say enough good things about this basketball program. read more

Hoops413 has been amazing!!! Our son started a couple of months ago and is in his second session and loves it. We tried a couple of different programs prior to Hoops413, but they wouldn't keep his interest/attention, however, with Hoops413, he looks forward to going every weekend. It's been great seeing him learn and really enjoy practicing. The coaches are great and work so well with little ones! Definitely recommend if you're trying to find a basketball program for your child. read more

My daughter really enjoys the basketball clinic at Valor Academy through 413. Miguel and Kaitlin are passionate about the game and good teachers of it. We want to check out the weekend clinics soon. read more

My son absolutely loves basketball because of his experience at Hoops413! He loves coach Eric and Coach Kaitlyn and looks forward to Saturdays with Hoops. My son is shy and reserved and I have seen him grow comfortable with Hoops because he is seen and the coaches are empathetic and care to correct them and teach them- when my son is confused or doesn't have the right form the coaches notice and help him and that builds his confidence level. Most classes geared for toddlers are chaotic with no discipline or direction- they just want the kids to have fun. At hoops you get the best of both! Great individualized and team coaching in addition to fun. I absolutely love Hoops because Miguel and Kaitlyn and family oriented and it feels like a family when we go, staff are kind and welcoming and I love the experience we have had! Thank you Hoops family! read more

We have truly been enjoying seeing our both our children flourish at clinic ending it with a fun scrimmage. I have both my children in two different sessions and they have both made some big improvements with the help of the staff who meets each child's need and encourages them. read more

Hoops413 is beyond amazing! My son has participated in their basketball sessions/classes, their leagues, and their summer camp, and he's loved every minute. His skills have improved greatly. He went from being very new, to being at the point where I can hardly keep up with him on the court. Beyond learning basketball skills, all of the coaches, especially Coach Miguel, have been there to support his growth as a person. They take the time to get the know the kids as individuals. My son had an issue with some kids at school and Coach Miguel took the time to sit down with him and talk him through it, which was above and beyond and really helped things change for the better. We feel so blessed to be a part of the Hoops413 community and we can't wait for all the great things they're planning! read more

I'm not one to leave Yelp reviews but I need to share this business/organization with the world! Owners Coach Miguel and Coach Kaitlin continuously go above and beyond to create a beautiful basketball community. A community anchored in love, communication, and fun, all while learning skills and techniques necessary to play competitive basketball. My daughter started with Hoops413 this summer for their week long camp. She had a blast! This camp is perfect for working parents because of their extended day, and they make sure to keep campers busy and engaged in a variety of activities that are embedded in the sport! From there she went on to play for Season 2 of their Basketball league! The evaluations day was smooth and not intimidating. The coaches are all so sweet but know the game so well because they are players themselves. The practices are consistent and the games are absolute FIRE! The crowd is always respectful because we are there to support our children in a fun way! Everyone at Hoops413 has truly redefined my daughter's vision of competitive sports, has given her the confidence she needed when playing, and have honed in on her strengths and helped her develop in the area where she needs more work. Because of the great work of everyone at Hoops413, my daughter has grounded herself in playing with heart and leaving it all on the court. We are so honored to be part of this community, and recommend any and all families to join and see what all the hype is about! read more

I haven't written a good ole yelp review in years, but I came here to give 5 stars+ to Hoops413. My 6 year old son attended their 1 week summer camp, and also completed an 8 week session of beginners basketball. All of the teachers and counselors were SO nice, friendly, well-mannered. Communication has been concise and prompt. My son had SO much fun at the camp, I wish they offered it more than 1 week out of the summer. And he enjoyed his time getting to learn skills and do drills in the basketball sessions. It helped hone in on his early interest in the sport, and I liked that the sessions weren't just "open free play" of shooting, if you will. They split the large group into smaller groups for more individual drills and attention, and would scrimmage at the end. Hoops413 came highly recommended, and now I'm wanting to return the favor. Amazing organization! read more

We absolutely love Hoops413! Coach Miguel has built such an amazing team league for all kids! Our daughter has been playing for 3 seasons, and we couldn't be more proud to be part of the Hoops413 family! I can't even begin to say how amazing Coach Kaitlin ( the heart of the league) is. She has been instrumental in our daughter falling in love with the game. And to the high school coaching staff , they are the most amazing , mature, responsible young men you could have coaching your kids! The entire Hoops413 organization is family to us, and we can not thank them enough for what they have built and created! read more

We enrolled our 3 yr old boy into the Summer Developmental Basketball League held Saturday Mornings for 30 mins from 9:30am to 10am. It is the perfect time, early enough to kick-start your day and leave you with the remainder of the Saturday to do other activities. It's also an outdoor Basketball training camp, so it's early enough where it's not too cold nor not too hot and the weather is perfect for the kids. Miguel runs an organized system, it's focus at this age is to build the fundamentals and foundation of the skills within the sport and sportsmanship among the players. Coach Kaitlin is an excellent teacher and instructor of the children. She makes sure every child gets attention and the opportunity to build their skills. They supplied nice generic colored jerseys which were light weight for the Summer, perfect to put over day-clothes, which you get to keep as part of your enrollment. They also have an awards ceremony at the end of the season where every child gets the same certificate and a high quality metal medal medallion to wear with pride. This was is great experience overall as an introduction to Basketball, and Hoops 413 continues cultivating the skills of players as they develop and age, with other age grouped categories for training. I think the sweet spot to start your child into Basketball is between 3-4 years or (or older) where they can listen and follow directions, mimic motion and action and have the patience to participate. Our son wasn't the greatest player, but he had a great time every week, so that's what's most important. He looked forward to and enjoyed this program. This training camp school was held at Valor, and has really easy parking on the streets or the parking lot. We've enrolled in various other Basketball activities, including indoor, but Hoops 413 was our son's favorite, due in large part to "Coach K" (Kaitlin) and the system with the lowered basketball hoop net and backboard as well as the smaller ball, perfect scale to the size of toddlers and young children. It's definitely worth looking into if you're considering this for your child. Hoops 413 was just honored by winning the 2019 Best of Redondo Beach award in the Camp category read more

My son has been with Hoops 413 for just about 3 years now. I don't have enough words to explain how impactful their program has been for us. When we started he was a blank canvas. Didn't know much about the game outside of what he saw on TV. Through many years of mentorship and private lessons, I am more than happy with where we are today, and are even more excited for the future. If you've been on the fence about joining this program, you shouldn't wait another minute. From a fundamentals, leadership, and overall enthusiastic standpoint, there isn't a better group read more

Where do we even begin?! If you're looking for a program that facilitates experiences for your child to fall in love with the game, learn fundamentals, and boost their basketball IQ, Hoops413 coaches go above and beyond with heart. As parents, exploring the club basketball world and coming from a family of athletes, Hoops413 was just the program we needed for our 8 year old. We signed our son up for both the beginner and elite session because you can never have too much practice of the fundamentals. Our son had fun and always looks forward to "Saturday's with Hoops413" Our son has learned so much in a 8 week session and continues to learn through private sessions with Coach Miguel and Coach Kaitlin. One thing that sticks out from other programs is the family feel environment. Hoops413 doesn't just talk the talk of being a family oriented program, they exude the energy of heart, positivity, and inclusiveness of all ballers from different experiences. The AAU/club basketball world is pretty cutthroat and Hoops413 was a breath of fresh air because their program goes back to the heart of basketball: fundamentals, teamwork, skills, and basketball IQ. We can definitely say that Hoops413 is part of our family now. When you find coaches that click with your child and authentically and genuinely works through the process, magic happens! I am so glad my daughter joined Hoops413. Coach Miguel, coach Kaitlin, and all young assistant coaches are amazing!! As a mother of 11-year-old daughter who discovered her passion for basketball recently, it was hard for older beginner kids like her to find a place with good coaches to learn and practice basketball. Hoops413 is for all young ballers, beginners to advanced. I am sure kids enjoy its friendly atmosphere and learn so much from great coaches and teammates!! I highly recommend Hoops413!!! read more

Hoops413 is amazing! My son has been attending the Saturday clinics and participated in the leagues for nearly three years and he has blossomed as a basketball player. The most amazing basketball training for kids! The moment you walk onto the courts Hoops413 Coaches treat you like FAMILY! My boys have been a part of the program for 2 years now and are about to start up another session. The coaches are find fun ways to teach technical basketball skills while keeping it fun for little kids. They teach life lessons and being a good person on and off the courts! My husband and I have played, coached and been around basketball the majority of our lives and this is the program we choose for our own young athletes and proudly tell all we can about them. Not only that, but I also have a son on the spectrum and they host a day made for those with special needs so they have the opportunity to get on the court and have some fun. I can't say enough good things about Hoops413 and know that we just feel blessed to be a part of the program! read more

If you're thinking about signing your child up for a local basketball program you NEED to do Hoops 413 before you try any other one. This program not only specializes in teaching your (very young) children the fundamentals of the game, but they teach them values, life skills and how to be good people on top of it all. My girls (2.5 and 5.5) have come to absolutely LOVE coach Kaitlin. She is their role model and they say her name in their prayers almost every night. She is very obviously talented and knowledgeable in the game of basketball, but even more so she LOVES the kids and helps them in so many other ways. This program helps the very young kids learn to follow instructions, work and play with other kids, helps them with their counting, their athleticism and flexibility... but above all else it teaches them things like making sure they clap for the kids in last place, and help their friends who may need an extra push. My 5 year old is finally excited about going to something every Saturday morning and wants to practice things at home that she learns from basketball class. (As a former college b-ball player, I couldn't be happier to see her interested in the sport!). But she never would've gotten to that point had the coaches not made it so fun, and welcoming, and positive for her and the rest of the kids from day 1. My little one struggles with accepting new people, and these coaches are understanding and work with her through her struggles. And because of that, some Saturdays she shines through all of her fears and it's so encouraging to see. There are so many basketball programs out there for young kids that skip the important things like fundamentals and confidence-building activities, and I'm so happy we found one that actually makes my kids excited and WANT to keep learning more! As a parent, I couldn't be happier to have found such a perfect place to spend every Saturday morning! read more

So far so good! My son enjoyed his first bball skill day. They are friendly and all about learning the fundamentals of basketball.

Hoops413 is the perfect basketball program for our kids (6, 5 and 2). They are learning the fundamentals of the game and loving every minute of it. Coach Miguel and his team are amazing and so supportive of all the players. I love to see them cheering the kids on and and encouraging all of the kids to "clap it up" for their teammates. Hoops413 has a "family" feel to it that we love. Our kids look forward to their Saturdays playing basketball and walk around our house shouting, "My dream! His glory!" We love it! read more

We searched high and low for a basketball program in which our son would have fun while learning the fundamentals. A program to grow with. We were introduced to Hoops413 this year and we cannot believe it took us this long to come across such an amazing opportunity. Our son looks forward to Saturdays but not only because he gets to do what he loves...he also gets to see the most wonderful, caring, and loving coaches. Hoops413 is a great program! And the team truly loves working with all the kids. I enrolled my 6 year old and he made signifiant improvements in basketball. He loves going to training every Saturday morning. Coach Miguel and his team run great drills with the kids. Our son is part of Coach Kaitlin's class at 10am on Saturday and we couldn't be happier with her. Her patience with kids and love for the game is obvious and I hope our son falls in love with the game like I did as a kid. The class is perfect for youngins looking to be introduced to the game and they have fun while going over different fundamentals each week. I try to be the hands off parent with my son and want him to fall in love at his own pace so it's nice to know he get the basics here before moving on to leagues. So I had the unfortunate experience of finding this camp in September 2021, and why this is unfortunate is because Hoops 413 had been around for a few years and I didn't know about it. I'm wildly impressed with the camp, and I'm not the guy who's easily impressed. My 7-year-old son LOVES Hoops 413, it's 45 minute long sessions, one day a week, which is so manageable. As a parent of 4, we try to stack our kid's schedules with activities, and this camp is a great addition to his schedule, but not too overwhelming. As far as the price goes, it's ridiculously affordable. I'm happy to report that although the price point is low, it doesn't negotiate on the quality of care and enthusiasm the coaches put in every weekend. I'm so thankful to have found Hoops 413, and the owner, Miguel makes everyone feel like family upon walking in. I mean, even his parents are working there every Saturday, greeting the families with smiles and warmth. I couldn't be happier to now be a part of the Hoops 413 family. It makes me proud to see black and brown-owned businesses in the South Bay, it gives my kids another role model in someone who looks like them. Salute to the whole Hoops 413 Camp, keep winning, keep thriving and thank you guys for ALLLLLLLL that you do for the youth. read more

Hoops413 is AMAZING! My son started showing signs of his love for basketball when he turned one. I did not think I would find a basketball camp for him at such a young age! My son is two years old, and he started with this basketball organization in September 2021. We are always excited and look forward to Saturday mornings for a fun time! During the week, I am working, and my son has school, so I look forward to Saturday mornings to bond with my son at the basketball program. Hoops413 focuses not only on basketball techniques; they incorporate color learning, number counting, and fun to keep the little ones interested and going. Within the past few months, my son has learned and mastered shooting with one hand, and he has been super happy about it! We love how all coaches are very respectful and patient. All children and parents for the 2/3-year-olds participate with the coaches, and it is always a great and loving environment. Last year for Halloween, they allowed the children to wear their costumes, and of course my son's favorite part (gave them candy). A new session of Hoops413 Developmental League is starting soon, and we look forward to being a part of it. Overall, this basketball program is beyond amazing, and I am happy we found them! read more

Hoops413 is awesome for little kids. My son has been doing basketball camp with them pre-Covid and he has a lot of fun. We started back up in the late fall and were a little nervous at first but they did so much a good job making it safe. And what a difference a few more classes made. My son went from mostly wandering around and not paying attention to following the exercises and drills and actually understanding and playing basketball. He loves it so much my older daughter asked to do it as well. The coaches are so good at making it fun, from dressing up in costume on Halloween, to Easter egg hunts to bubble tunnels but the kids learn a ton and develop some serious skills. We love this group and are excited to keep working with them for a long time to come! read more

The coaches are so good with the kids! We were a bit nervous about starting up classes again during COVID but they do a great job socially distancing and have lots of precautions set up (temp check prior to entering, mandating face masks, bringing your own basketball (recommended but will also provide sanitized balls) They really go the extra mile for the kids. For Halloween they encouraged the kids to wear their costumes (and the coaches dressed up too!) and incorporated trick or treating into the class. My 4 year old has been taking classes for over a year and really seems to enjoy it! Would highly recommend! Thanks Hoops413! read more
