I grew up going to this place back in the early 2000's. I am now a parent and I took my kid. The cafe is gone which is such a bummer. The actual big play room is ok. I was disappointed at how dirty it was. You could see so much dust on the outside part and the actual play area was quite dirty. I wish it was better kept. We went in for the 9-1pm play time. At around 12ish an employee started to wipe down tables and such and the room reeked of Lysol spray. It got so bad that we left before our desired time. My son and I used to love this place but the limited hours for drop-in play (plus you need a reservation) just makes this more difficult. I definitely miss the pre-pandemic days. Employees seem more interested in socializing than monitoring the play structure so there's a lot of climbing up the slide and other general behavior that could use some reminders. read more

Went for the first time last week and we were pretty disappointed. We booked last minute for the toddler play area to try it out and intended to stay the full two hours but barely lasted one because we weren't super comfortable. The woman checking people in/ working the front desk was super friendly. The play area for toddlers is cute but feels run down and a little dirty. I don't feel like things were being enforced for example, one woman was walking around with toeless socks which I didn't even know was a thing until I saw. Three of the kids playing had visible snot running down their faces...not just runny noses but thick yellow mucus. I understand not being able to control those things on the businesses end but maybe certain measures could be. There are signs saying please use the restroom to change children to be sanitary and yet someone was changing their kid on the seat where kids play by the train toy set. Right where the signs are. We went into the bathroom to change my daughter and it was really gross in there. One stall was very messy and backed up. They hadn't been open very long yet this day so I'm not sure how it looked so bad. There is a toddler sink with a step ladder that has water just running out of it as if someone left it on. We wanted to use that to wash my daughter's hands and the handle just completely fell off. There was a guy working, that we didn't realize was a worker for a minute. I think he is there to monitor to an extent, keep things tidy, etc. We saw him picking up things but found it really weird when he was just laying down hidden behind the play haystacks. When I would walk by he would just be staring at it made me feel uncomfortable which is when I walked back to grab my daughter to change her and get out of there. I reached out through email detailing our experience and asked for a refund for our time as we felt it was made out to be less run down and sanitary, but it was overall super gross. So my son actually enjoys going despite it being rundown and a lot of toys are not functional here but here is my gripe with adventureplex! Do not become an annual member - to cancel my membership has been the biggest pain in the ass experience ever! For December they basically shut down for 2 weeks to do camp so they could make money as kids are at home but for members - why do we pay for the full month it should be pro-rated. I asked the front desk they had confirmed that the month of December would be prorated and be half off essentially. Here comes December and guess what full charge! I told them we were traveling half of January so they suggested we cancel and restart membership. Okay filled out form talked to person on phone and emailed it in. Here comes January and there is a charge! Call and went in asking for manager - was told manager would call back and is behind after holidays. I just confirm so we won't be charged until this gets resolved. Yeah I see your cancel form. It's February - why the hell am I getting charged when management has not gotten back to me. My children attended their camp for four weeks this summer and loved it! Their covid protocols consist of the standard temp checks and masks. The first week there, the kids did catch a bug, which was a little scary because they haven't had anything since COVID hit, despite being onsite for preschool and attending a different summer camp the first four weeks. Nonetheless, I can tell the kids thoroughly enjoyed their time at this camp! They were excited for each day and loved the spirit rally Fridays. They attended from 8 - 4 and were worn out every day after camp. Mine are on the younger side and still need naps, so the long day was a bit of a challenge, but we pushed through. This place is great to bring your kiddos just not on a rainy day. They get so packed you don't really enjoy what they have and the kids just seem confused and just not with it. You will just step on toys and not get the full experience. I get they try to fill their spaces and since covid you have to make a reservation totally fine but they were so much better before for sure. I've been coming here as a nanny for 9+ years and well it was totally great before as well as the toy selection. I think the big problem here is that The Caregivers/ Parents don't care for their kids and then it becomes a problem. I've had to go downstairs to tell the front that there were bigger kids up there causing chaos with the little ones being there, the parents nowhere to be found(I'm sorry but NO) it's not a drop you kids off and let them do whatever they want place go to the park across for that.. besides this this have great summer programs for the kids and fun activities for older kids. Way before my son was born I would come to AdventurePlex for an evening adult dodgeball league. I looked forward to those nights where I would decompress from a day at work to throw a ball at my 'enemy'. Fast forward to 7+ years later and I'm taking a postpartum fitness class here with my son sleeping in the stroller, then another year later my son is now walking and exploring Toddler Town, where a gym used to be. I love that this place exists for parents with toddlers! The Toddler Town is just perfect for their little minds to explore on their own, with adult supervision of course. I went on a Thursday morning, just had to sign a waiver and pay $12 for the entrance fee. It was pretty quiet, about half a dozen little kiddos playing around. So much space for them to run around and lots of toys to play with. It was really clean too! They require you to take your shoes off and have socks. If you forget socks I believe they sell them as well. When I was on maternity leave I joined their postpartum fitness class which is in partnership with Beach Cities Health District. Some of the classes were here and most of the time I was the only one in class. Danielle Spangler was the instructor and she was great! It's unfortunate that AdventurePlex doesn't promote it to get more involved. They are also in partnership with Mother Nurture Network and have Toddler and Me classes here. This class is for six weeks and is facilitated by a licensed therapist and discuss a range of topics. I hope to be taking my son here more in the future. read more

Great place for the little ones to spend hours and hours running around. The only con is the play area where the ball pits are, the toddler play area there is a collection of dust. It doesn't look like they clean much in this corner. Also the "soft surfaces" on the 5-level play structure have zip ties to secure the soft cushioning. Be sure your child doesn't cut themselves where the zip ties are because it's pretty sharp. My children especially enjoyed Toddlertown. We weren't able to check the rock wall or anything else out since they were too little. Great to go on a Monday... it's pretty empty. read more

We had our son in the all day camp, where you had to bring your own lunch. The lunch box had a label with our son's full name and surname on it. Come lunch time our son could not find this box, nor did the staff find it. When our son asked the staff for help, they didn't even make an effort to look for it, told him to drink his water. There was no alternative offered, nor was a call given to the parents. The staff just left a 7 year old go through lunch without any food. We found out when we picked our son up, because then we had to go hunt for the lunch box, which one of the staff had found on the floor and put in a lost and found box. Toddler area was really nice and clean, we went to the climbing structure, there is an odd smell when I went into the area, smelled like old urine. The water fountain of soil had like old mold on it, I was actually there to see if I should book a birthday party that was a really disappointing. The majority of the young employees who work here are friendly and respectful as well as proactively welcoming. They treat my son really nice with sincere kindness. They even take the time to know him by name, which is really appreciated. I'd like to call out and give credit to specific employees, but there's too many and many I don't know their names. My advice to parents who bring toddlers here is: 1) Don't use this place as a caged environment where you are head's down looking at your cell phone and ignoring your child. It's a fun place to interact with your child. Plus, it's your obligation to both protect your child and also manage controlling your child. I've seen too many incidents with aggressive toddlers bullying, from taking toys away from other toddlers to physically pushing, grabbing or hitting other kids, all done without parents being aware what's going on. I hover near my child to ensure he neither shows bad manners with aggression nor is the victim of another child (where at least I can quickly pick him up and remove him from any hostile environment) 2) The folks who work here do a good job cleaning up the "Toddler Town" area after the kids and organizing the play areas. The adage of "that's what they get paid for" is the wrong attitude. If you teach your child not to create chaos and mess here, those same respectful organizational skills will transfer back into the home. If you let your child run amok here, they'll do the same back home. So, always try to encourage your child to put things back where they belong after they're done playing, so others can enjoy them too. 3) There's a "must wear socks" rule, so in case you ever forget, always keep a pair (or two) of adult and child's socks in your car, so you'll never ever be without. Overall, I think this place is good for toddlers with a solid 30 mins to 2 hrs of activity before they (and you) may get either tired or bored, but is good to come frequently, almost like a gym membership where coming daily isn't even an overkill either. read more

We took our 20 month old son here for "Toddler Town" which is a dedicated space for Toddlers. We were concerned he might be too small but it was perfect.. This is a great location, Toddler Town at APLEX offers a good mix of options for toddlers. Unlike other kiddie play areas, this toddler town was thought out well. When I visited other venues there were limited options for toddlers. Here, our son enjoyed the mock grocery shopping, check-out, and clerk experience the most.They have these cute mini shopping carts and grocery selections are on their level. Again, there are tons of other options to play with: cars, buildings, blocks, car rides, crafts, etc. The staff are attentive and courteous. They also offer room rentals for birthday parties, just bring your own food & decorations. This place is so cute!! My husband and I came here recently one afternoon with our 2-year old. It was $12 for all of us ($12/child and it was free for me and my husband) which I think is a great deal. The facility is HUGE. We spent all our time at Toddler Town upstairs. Everyone, both kids and adults must wear socks (no shoes). I was impressed how clean and spacious it was. The bathrooms were clean too. My daughter had a blast riding the cars and playing in the pretend grocery store. There's mini shopping carts and plastic foods organized in baskets and shelves with fake food cans and milk cartons, etc. Even a checkout stand with cash registers. Super cute!! My daughter is really into pretend play and loved this. There's also a kitchen area, a soft ball/foam shape pit and another room with some other toys that were more baby friendly. There's a lounge-type area as well for the adults to sit and rest. We spent a little over an hour here and my daughter was ready to go home. I'd say overall you can spend maximum of a couple hours here but definitely not a whole day. The downstairs area has a huge jungle gym play structure for older kids. There's a small area underneath for toddlers but we didn't check it out. It was really loud and chaotic in there with a ton of older kids. They offer a lot of activities/classes, camp, and they do birthday parties here too. I wish I lived closer-- I'd come here all the time. Sadly, it's a little too far for me to commit to a membership but I'd love to come back again one day! In an attempt to spend some quality mommy and son time, I decided to go check out the new Toddler Town at AdventurePlex. With the opening of Toddler Town, they've remodeled the entrance area so it's like a little check-in stand and the snack kitchen is no longer there. It's $10 per child and they can play in the climbing/slide structure, Toddler Town, reading corner, or open basketball courts if there's not a class taking place. We were there first thing in the morning so it was pretty clean and organized inside. I like that there's two play structure areas, one for toddlers three and under and a larger area for older kids. Parents are allowed in both to help with little ones. For the toddlers, there's a small ballot with one slide, a Velcro wall with shapes and shapes, and a few other cushioned shapes to sit on. For the big kids, there's a ball pit, slides, a mini zip line thing and tunnels to crawl through. This area has tables and chairs for the parents. Toddler Town is upstairs and we didn't really get to experience it all because my son was not interested...he just went up, took a look and wanted to go back down to the structure. However, I was able to see a play kitchen, small ball pit, check out stations a fruit stand, and shopping carts. More of an area for pretend play. Enzo loved playing in the open basketball courts and burned some energy over there chasing the balls. Based on my visit, here are a few tips: *bring socks for everyone because they are required. They charge $3 a pair if you forget *no outside food or drinks *if parking is full just park in the Northrup lot across the way *come early, it's pretty busy in the afternoon I've seen on their flyers that they do a drop off for 3+ years for date nite. Not good for toddlers. No outside food allowed. We were looking for a place to take our toddler after we picked him up from daycare on weekdays. Hoped this would be a nice indoor, free play option. Unfortunately, this place is geared for much older children. The free play area is LOUD. There is a large structure about 2 stories tall for kids to climb. Elementary to middle school age children are running, jumping, climbing and shouting as they play in the left-hand and upper portions of the structure. On the right side, there is a small enclosed portion of the structure dedicated to smaller kids. This is where my toddler started to play. There were a ball pit and some eh padded obstacles. There really wasn't much here besides the ball pit. He was entertained for 20 minutes but really needed someone to constantly play with him and help him. I doubt that he'd be this interested if we regularly visited. He tried to venture into the other part of the structure where there was much more to do but was quickly forced out by older kids. That's to be expected. My toddler had fun with the puzzles and books in the library / reading area. Might burn 20 min each visit if we were to come regularly. There is a no outside food policy here. Food consumed on premises must be purchased from 2-3 vending machines. While I saw a couple of healthy options, the food is all packaged (so no fruit, sandwiches, etc). That is such a shame cause, say a PBJ, apple or carrot sticks, would be my preferred snack to offer. I suppose some people take their kids out front for snacks but that's a hassle - got to check them out and back in - not to mention it's sometimes very hot out. The facilities could use some work. I really doubt that the ball pit is regularly cleaned. The seats / sofas have a bit of a sticky feel. Many are marred from sneakers or peeling from old age. If my kid was any younger, I would have pulled him out immediately. So all in all, not for us. We used up our passes in the library and moved on to investigate other gyms. We needed someplace that had a daily drop-in option for the summer for my son, and we found that Adventure Plex was available. Additionally, there was an option for before and after care, which was truly ideal. The facility is large with lots of options for kids to move (check that box for my son), and there are daily themes for camps. He was only there for three days and was really disappointed when he found out that he wasn't going to be there a third. With all of these positives being said, there are definitely some things to consider. For starters there are A LOT of kids at this camp. Like a lot. It was overwhelming to walk into the facility at the end of the day. I'm not sure how much actual down time the kids had in order to regulate themselves during an action-packed day, but it didn't feel like there were decent chunks. I could be mistaken. There was a situation at the end of a day involving a staff member and my son, and we won't be going to Adventure Plex for camps in the future. At first we enjoyed Adventureplex and even bought the monthly pass. However, over the last couple of months, the place has become a big disappointment and we have cancelled our membership. The Adventureplex has their priority on birthday parties and camps. Each of the last 4 times we went, at least 1 of the 3 indoor areas has been closed for a private party. This leaves just 1-2 areas for the remaining general public. You can not believe how packed and uncomfortable the place is on weekends. The last time we went I counted 11 children and 4 adults in the ball pitt at the same time! The time before that, a group of six 8-12 year olds was having a ball fight across the inside of the play area, blocking passage for everyone else. The worker sat and did nothing. The final straw was when our child was begging us all morning to take him to play "hoops," and when we showed up, the gym was closed off to the public once again. That was a fun tantrum to deal with. Lol. My wife said something to the manager at the desk and their suggestion was to just come in during the week. Nope. Tons of other activities for kids in the South Bay. This is a great way to spend a rainy day with your child or meet for a playdate. They have a huge play structure that both parents and kids can climb around. There is also a little area for the smaller cruisers/non-walkers. You can also eat there, though I have never tried the food to be honest. I've been to a birthday party here and it was great. They have a room you can use for all of your stuff and you can hire your own entertainment plus you get a lot of playtime in the structure. Here is why I gave it four and not five stars - because if you have to go in and find your child (which I have to do a lot because he is still 2) it can be a pain to have to crawl through the whole structure, around other kids, parents, etc. This place gets pretty busy! Usually once I am inside I don't mind because there are actually a few stops where a parent can stand. If I could give this place a zero I would. nightmare of a bday party- first off they were dishonest and said this party would be "private" with only one party going on at a time and the day of I find out there are other parties going on at the same time. After I paid my deposit they never sent me a "welcome email" invitations didn't go out timely- staff do not return calls or answer emails. I spoke to the manager Michael on 4 occasions and he was dismissive- never received a call from the "host" as promised until the day of my part 2 hours before start time. They didn't let me in the room until 20 minutes before the party started and it was filthy and 2 young girls were barely cleaning up from the previous party. the play area was disgusting and smelled musty and like urine- staff did not help with set up because they were just cleaning up- the "host" Joseph was avoidant and never said a word to me until payment- after I paid I noticed they charged me an extra 100 dollars and charged me for 3 kids under the age of 3 including a baby of 3 months, a one year old and 2 year old. The contract says a different price than what they charged which is illegal. I emailed them and called them and left messages and no response- this place is filthy- the "party host" and "manager" could care less about people or children- read more

This place gets 5 stars for fun. My 2 year old had a blast and took a good nap afterwards. the 2 star deduction is for safety. There needs to be a sign to keep the gate that goes from toddler town to the lobby area closed. there also needs to be signs to tell parents that unless they are taking a photo their phones should be put away. I've seen this in some other play areas and people actually correct themselves when they notice the sign. Too many distracted parents and I personally had to redirect 2 toddlers who had escaped toddler town. I know this should be common sense but unfortunately that is not a flower that grows in everyone's garden. Another major safety issue are the elevators. The buttons need a cover over it to prevent toddlers from easily getting onto the elevator alone. I saw it happen today and the mom was horrified. Took my 2.5 yo toddler here the other day and he loved it. And I use to take my step daughter here when he was her age. They both had a lot of fun and the place has expanded to catering more to the younger age group. They have he basketball courts and upstairs the toddler town. Definitely wore my toddler out. The place is fairly clean. I just wonder how or if they clean the netting inside the big play area. It's only $12 per child and you get 2 hours of playtime. The price includes the adult as well. The basketball area and big play area are good for the older kids as well. But when it gets busy it can be a little nerve wrecking with your toddler amongst the big kids. I attended a birthday gathering here for one of my daughters class mates. The place seemed really nice on the outside. We walked in and they had different areas setup for all the different birthdays so that you can sign in. The host told us where the private room was and the kids ran off to play. I was a little disappointed by the size of the arena as it was super tiny. They had tables setup on the side of it so that the parents can sit and watch. It seemed super crowded that I was unable to find a seat to sit. Of course the kids don't care. Haha They had a separate toddler area for children under the age of 3. There were supervisors that kids any child above 3 from the toddler area which was nice because older kids play rough. We played for about an hour until we were called to go to the private dinning area. The room was large and very accommodating. The had fresh brother pizza, salad, and fried. Every child got to have a bottle of juice as well. Plex came out and sang for the birthday boy. Overall a nice place to gather for a child's birthday. A little privacy like scooter jungle would have been nice. Parking is very limited. read more
