The bleachers near the baseball field were typical of the other Redondo Beach parks...comfortable enough to sit on for a couple of hours. But no shade, so wear a hat and sunglasses. Ah, life was so simple then. And it's been decades since I've been back, and my, how it's all come full circle: came through to celebrate one of my cousin's kids' birthdays. It is almost exactly as I remember it, but with upgrades. There are more picnic areas now, the playground is up to date, most everything is maintained so clean! It was kinda cool guiding the kids to kite flying and watching them play games during the party. For a few moments there, I was back to my pre-teen self again. I was told they have festivals here once in a while, so I really should keep up with their scheduled events! I loved it then, I still love it now. Glad it's still around and still maintained so well.

This is a very basic, no frills park that's hard to find(I literally stumbled on it wandering…read morearound the area). The atmosphere is pleasant with families, kids, dogs playing and seniors strolling I subtract 2 stars for small size, lack of toilets, few amenities and hard to find. I would not make a special trip here but it gets the job done for the immediate neighborhood.

This North Redondo Beach park has no sign with the park name that I could find…read more I always drive past it on my way to T J Maxx on Hawthorne.....see my review of the store for my secret short cut! haha Anyways.....I was out today in this crazy heat reviewing parks. It felt like about 90 at the beach, it's hot. But the park looked inviting with its beautiful shade trees. It's about an acre and a half, small, and has nothing but trees and grass, benches, a kids' playground, and restrooms. I like the old streetlamps, must be pretty at night. The kiddie play area has the oddest surface I've seen. It's squishy, like a thick sponge. I was unprepared when I stepped on it to take a photo and almost lost my balance. Seems like it would be a nice soft spot for a kid to fall. My pic of the sign tells more about it. This park is narrow, and runs for a block, through a residential 'hood. It's a nice cut-through for people heading to the plaza around Starbucks on 190th. And there were people enjoying the park today, even in the heat. A red-faced little boy was trying to reach the drinking fountain while his dad laid under a tree in the shade...... The posted sign got my attention, the sign that lists all the "don'ts" for the park: No dogs (true in every Redondo Beach park except the dog park). No bicycles. No ball playing. No skateboarding. No roller skates or roller blades. That's a lot of restrictions! If you come here, plan on just walking through and admiring the trees..... 10 photos are posted.

So this little park is tucked away in North Redondo. If you are riding your bike you can pick it up…read morenear the new North Redondo Bikeway. It's not a bad park. But unlike Valley Park or Veterans Park, for example, it's not a place to make a day of it. There's trees, grass, little benches, you can have a picnic there -maybe a reststop while you are out on a walk or a bike ride. But there's no barbecue pits and no open fires allowed. There's a little area with kid's things like a slide. And when I was there on a sunday afternoon there was a building that appeared to have restrooms but they were all locked up. It's got lots a shade, so like I said earlier, this isn't a bad place to have a picnic, just no barbecues or fires.

It has a slide and a covered picnic bench, swings and a patch of grass. As expected with online profiles and listings, this park looks nicer on the interwebs than in real life. There is limited residential street parking nearby. With speedy cars cutting through on their way to Redondo Beach Blvd to the 405N on-ramp, it's best to park further down on Osage and not in front of the park, lest you run the risk of your car door getting Jessica Jones'd by a passing car. The street is narrow. Abovehead are power lines buzzing. Right above and parallel is the 405 whizzing with the sounds of commuters. One nice thing is that I didn't notice any trash at this park. This park is OK for what it is and shouldn't be a destination for anyone traveling from afar unless you live within walking distance or you somehow happen to have a child in your possession (your own or otherwise) who convinced you to park and play here for 20 mins.

It's a few blocks away from the ocean. The grass is very green and nice for picnics. Dogs must be on leashes. I thought the mini picnic tables for kids was really cute. I got lots of recommendations from a Facebook group I'm in for this park. The bad: The bathrooms were blocked off so I used the portable potties by the parking lot. The potties were very full and smelled more than average. I was hoping for a park without sand because my daughter loves sand so much and always ends up only playing in sand and making a mess. The interesting: The cement slides are very fast so be cautious! The parking lot has a six hour limit.

This is a great location, but please note that to a degree this is not a public park in that it's…read moreclosed during certain hours with no access, so be sure that you know when the gates are open and when they'll close before visiting. It's very clean (and probably because it's locked up during off / closed hours). They have ample swings, one of the only parks with four (4) separate baby swings. The area in Lawndale is nice enough too, and it's tucked away in a somewhat secluded residential area. The playground equipment is nice and some are very new, modern and unique looking too. This sports a double wide slide too.

This park isn't packed with picnic tables of facilities, bbq's, bathrooms or drinking fountains, but it does have parking, it's clean and open. Only a few spots of shade and the whole thing is surrounded by a chain link fence. Could be because the park is in fact attached to William Green Elementary school. Not exactly a well rounded facility full park, but it's in a good location for a short walk or burning some calories.
