Tiny home for toddlers to play
Kenneth C.

My kids love this park! Beautiful, clean and safe! There's an area for kids of all ages. Plenty of room to run or bike.

Brand new equipment, my boys loved playing here and it was a cute peaceful neighborhood to sit and relax watching them play!

Very cute park for little girls and boys, but there's no bathroom. I like taking kids over there because they always have a good time but when it's time to go to the bathroom, we gotta go find one somewhere

Loved this small playground. Plenty for my kid to do even though it's in a smaller space. We found parking on the sidewalk easily. It was not crowded.

Nice and new little park. Used to be a pool here, but, now it's all park. Super safe (for the most part) with padded floors and play structures. The spider webby climby thingy will occupy the kids for a long time. Pretty noisy with the airport right across the way, but, kids don't care. Unfortunately, no facilities and not much shade available with their seating arrangements. Still highly recommend and we'll be back.

No restroom. Beautiful park though. Great for small or big kids. No sand and no bark dust

The park also has taller slides, regular swings, some spinning gazebo, and a climbing structure for older kids.

Most recently, it's been here for me when I come back from NYC and just want to get some shots up alone. Nothing as cathartic as grabbing the new basketball my Granny just got me, popping my airpods in, and doing the basketball workouts I used to do as a kid when hoop dreams were all I cared about. Something about reconnecting with that part of myself just eases the stresses that come with adulthood. I think that chubby insecure kid would be proud of who I am today, and that makes me smile. It's good to look back at your past and appreciate who you've become... But don't stare at it, or you'll end up staying there. Look back, smile, and keep pushing forward. I also randomly seen Kendrick Lamar doing a prison workout here a few years back. That was a trip lol. THANK YOU LIVE OAK! THANK YOU GRANNY I LOVE THIS NEW BASKETBALL! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

It's not a destination park, but that's exactly why it works so well. It's clean, quiet, and perfect for a short break: sitting on a bench, reading, stretching, or letting kids run around the playground. You'll see locals walking their dogs, parents chatting, and people just enjoying a calm moment away from the busier beach areas. What stands out is how peaceful it feels despite being so close to everything. No crowds, no noise -- just a relaxed, friendly vibe. If you live nearby or want a low-key spot to slow down for a bit in Hermosa, Valley Park is a really nice little gem.

Instead, I picked up a delicious sandwich, some deli sides, and drink from nearby Boccato's Groceries ( https://www.yelp.com/biz/boccatos-groceries-hermosa-beach ), lucked out in quickly finding a parking spot, and ate my lunch at a picnic table before reading my book for almost two hours. It was a beautiful day, and many other people were enjoying the near perfect weather and all the space the park has. There were at least three different kids' birthday parties going on, but they didn't interfere with one another, because Valley Park has multiple areas with picnic tables. It has a huge playground, a basketball court, and what seem like acres of grass to play on. There are also lots of trees for shade. As I said, I found parking almost right away, on Morningside Drive, but that meant a long walk for me, as the path from the western side of the park takes a rather circuitous route past the playground and the basketball court to the group of tables I wanted to sit at (the only ones completely unoccupied when I arrived). I could have taken a direct route through the grass, but that would have meant walking through a kids' soccer game and some of groups of kids playing. Most of the parking is along the two streets that form the northern boundary of the park, but I could see the street from where I was sitting, and those spots didn't open up often, and when they did, they were quickly taken. It got a bit windy as the afternoon passed, so I had to go chasing some napkins and the lid for one of my deli delectables at times, but it really is a nice, well maintained park. I didn't use the bathroom, but I did see quite a few moms taking their kids into them, so I'm assuming they couldn't have been that disgusting. Speaking of the bathrooms, it would be great if this Yelp listing could have a different, less puke-inducing cover photo. Please click on some other photos, people!

It does have a nice kiddie pool, playground and shaded tables with adjacent street parking. Above average cute little park. It has shaded area in front on Grand w/picnic tables, grills in between tables & trash cans, although in one of my pics, you'll see that they aren't being used like they're suppose be. Playground area w/slide & swings and a nice community pool on the other side on Maryland. If I had small kids, I'd would've brought them here, simply for the area it's in, nice, safe family community, parks serenity, shaded areas w/a cool breeze and I always see the Police patrolling by. But there's Recreation park for more activities for the wee ones, of course you've also got ES beach and nearby Polliwog Park (Ok not nearby, but worth the drive) to venture off to with the family. But I must say this town offers a lot of activities for the kiddies, I don't know all of them because my kids are grown up now :(. Anyhow, you can see Rancho Palos Verdes from one side and if you walk around other side of water tower, you can see LAX planes (that's pretty much the whole city) & West LA from there.
