They have a amazing fan that starts entertaining at 6 PM until the fireworks show starts. They have multiple food trucks with great food to experience and plenty of activities for the kids. There's two jumpers and you can play whatever sports you love in the grassy area. They also have a hill, and if you have a box, you can slide down it to your hearts joy.

The bleachers near the baseball field were typical of the other Redondo Beach parks...comfortable enough to sit on for a couple of hours. But no shade, so wear a hat and sunglasses. It's very clean (and probably because it's locked up during off / closed hours). They have ample swings, one of the only parks with four (4) separate baby swings. The area in Lawndale is nice enough too, and it's tucked away in a somewhat secluded residential area. The playground equipment is nice and some are very new, modern and unique looking too. This sports a double wide slide too.

Not exactly a well rounded facility full park, but it's in a good location for a short walk or burning some calories.

The Lawndale Parks & Recreation website states that the park is open until 8:00 p.m., or dusk, whichever comes first. Tonight's sunset is 7:15 p.m., so I figured they would close the park around 7:00 p.m. or so. My two year old and I walked about a mile to the park, arrived at 5:15 p.m., and found the park locked on 162nd. We figured it was probably open on the other side, so we walked into Hawthorne and around to 163rd, and found that it was also locked there, too. I called the city to find out what was happening with the hours, and they shared that new hours were being enforced where the park now closes at 5:00 p.m. That's great for nannies, but working parents will only have the option of using this park on the weekends. It's absolutely adorable! Wish we could have gone in!

It's in the middle of a residential block, so tucked away, much like the one on Matthews Avenue, and we actually just stumbled upon it ourselves randomly. They have nice playground play area equipment and the only downside, which isn't a big deal breaker is the use of wood chips for flooring vs the soft sponge foam you see at other places which I prefer. It feels safe and I think the morning/afternoon sun is shaded, so it doesn't heat up (unlike the parkette on Mathews Avenue which faces the sun and the equipment gets really hot to the touch) They have 2 swings for babies, 2 swings for grups (grown ups), 3 slides, bouncy vehicles (alligator and truck) and a playhouse of sort. It's a few blocks away from the ocean. The grass is very green and nice for picnics. Dogs must be on leashes. I thought the mini picnic tables for kids was really cute. I got lots of recommendations from a Facebook group I'm in for this park. The bad: The bathrooms were blocked off so I used the portable potties by the parking lot. The potties were very full and smelled more than average. I was hoping for a park without sand because my daughter loves sand so much and always ends up only playing in sand and making a mess. The interesting: The cement slides are very fast so be cautious! The parking lot has a six hour limit.

There are new picnic tables, both uncovered and under a few gazebos (large and small). May be a good place for birthday parties. Kids can play in a sand-less playground (hallelujah!) and in the grassy areas. You can also check out balls to play with from staff members on-site. A workout area is available for adults. Restrooms are nice and clean... so far!

My kids love coming to this park to play. They've made friends almost every time we come. I also like bringing my kids here because it doesn't get crowded; sometimes it's just us. Parking isn't too bad, a few spots designated for the park or park in the residential area.
