We got married here on March 1, 2025. From start to finish, our experience with The Valley Garden Center was great. Ann Marie was very helpful and always responsive to our questions. The grounds are beautiful. As the bride, I loved the bridal suite, although if you have more than 5 bridesmaids it may be a bit small for you. It was really great to be able to bring our own vendors. This place is a hidden gem in the Encanto Area. I have lived in this area for over 30 years and never really looked at this place until 2 years ago . I always thought that it was just an old building in the middle of a historic area in Phoenix! People I was very wrong!!!! This place is beautiful and very serene! Beautiful garden area in the back of the property, koi pond and a mesquite tree that is over 100 plus years old!!!! I am very partial to this place for the simple fact that my wife Annmarie manages the daily operations of this beautiful place . She does all of your contracts, tours and has some great ideas to help with your event! This hidden gem accommodates up to 150 of your guests for whatever event you may want to have ....Weddings, Celebration of Life, Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Birthday Parties etc.... We have quite a few clubs of all types that hold their monthly meetings and events here too!!!! AnnMarie was exceptional and very helpful. I would recommend this venue for any or every event. The venue space was just enough and the back area was breathe taking. When I booked I originally booked with a nice old man named John. He made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions. He even agreed to let me in an hr early since I had so much decorating to do. As the time approached I no longer was able to get a hold of him, instead some rude lady only answering by email names ALISON no longer would honor me coming in a lil early. She says PER YOUR CONTRACT entrance is at 8am and just the way she writes her emails you can definitely tell she isn't very pleasant to work with ! She wouldn't answer a text or phone call. Too bad I was tied in already and a week out or she would make me re consider my options. I was already set on coming in to this place with bad energy and my party behind schedule and feeling like my event is ruined with her bad attitude. Although I'm sad John is no longer there, I was so happy to be greeting by ANA AND RICK who were new managers they very nice,pleasant, so welcoming and helpful. Make sure the dressing room and kitchen essentials are in your contract for use they almost wouldn't honor that either.Everything was locked when we got there. THANK YOU ANA AND RICK FOR MAKING THIS EVENT AS SMOOTH AS POSSIBLE ON AUGUST 6 am. Unlocking the coffee maker and dressing room since it was promised to me. It meant so much to me to still be able to get ready after sweating to decorate.MY EVENT WAS SUCCESSFUL after all thanks to them! read more

Valley Garden Center is a very beautiful venue space to host your family gatherings. I've booked and had several parties here already with (Linda, John and now Anna) and each time they've been amazing with such great memories. I DO want to say that Anna was amazing, she went out of her way to provide and assist me with the best layout to setting up the rooms for the seating of my guests along with her thoughts on the decorations for the tables and the setup to the outdoor area under the Big older tree and Gazebo area. I would call Anna when needed and she was always available and willing to meet with me. Anna was also very respectful to myself and guest, they very much liked her. Kuddos to her husband Rick as well, as he was also very attentive and willing to help us in whatever we needed on that day/evening of our event. Thanks again Anna/Rick @VGC and Happy Holidays. Hands down, the best kept secret in Phoenix. 150 ppl indoors, nearly 700 can fit outdoors. We had our wedding here on 2/21/20 and we couldn't have been happier. Expert vendors added to the lovely gardens with extra lighting. We purchased all of our own chairs for our guests...mismatched and vintage-y. John, the manager, worked tirelessly to get the little attached house flipped to a bridal suite so brides would have a spot to get ready. There's a spot for the grooms, too. Let me tell you...this all inclusive place allowed all of our own food, beverage, decor and we had access at 9:00 a.m. An all day event for a low, low price. Check them out through the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation or go there and see John. He is warm and welcoming. Don't miss this place. This blank canvas was the perfect spot for us to realize our dream wedding. read more

I recently got married here and the location is beautiful. Absolutely affordable and a great place to have a wedding. The gentleman John, that helps run the place is kind and sweet hearted and truly amazing. Linda on the other hand became overbearing. When the wedding day came, things changed. We had done the wedding entirely DIY. No vendors. All hard work and family cooperation. We went through the whole day smooth and with a few bumps, but what wedding doesn't. We had the venue till 10 and clean up and out at 11. We However had ended the wedding early around 9 because that's just how things went. My wedding was by no means a "party". Quite a tame gathering actually. My wedding party, a few quests, family, AND myself still in my dress cleaned the place. We didn't need to but we did anyways. The entire time she snapped at my guests and my mother in law. Later this week I found out from my mother and other guests that she had barked at them as well. I can tolerate myself getting barked at, but my family I cannot stand by that. My mother was arranging balloons and that was an issue. My mother in law was CLEANING up our food mess and that was an issue. We swept and left no trace of our visit. Linda is about to retire and pass down the candle. Maybe it's about time. I know organizing can be tough and stressful but a little kindness goes a long way. read more

Lovely venue for an intimate wedding and reception. Easy to find, plenty of parking. The outdoor areas were well groomed and clean and the inside was spacious. The ceremony under the huge tree was just perfect. There's a kitchen area to prep food or you can have the event catered. Tables and chairs are provided. Bathrooms were clean. My wife and I were married here and it was absolutely beautiful! John the manager was awesome to work with. He showed us cool ways to set up the venue and was very helpful during the whole process, including the ceremony and reception. He went and got ice for us! That's hospitality! The venue is beautiful, very affordable. I think for the venue rental it was a little less than 3k. It included the venue, chairs, tables, awesome changing rooms for the bride and groom and much more. But what I liked the most was we were able to decorate the venue how we wanted, we brought in our own catering, we brought in our own alcohol (although you do need a certified bartender) I would highly recommend the Valley Garden Center to anyone wanting to have a wedding or event. read more

After looking around for a smaller, centrally located venue to celebrate my grandmothers 75th birthday party we settled on this location because it was pretty and reasonably priced. Even though my folks foot the bill, I helped my mom with all the preparations so I feel justified to review. The establishment is older and has not had any renovations but the grounds are beautiful and the garden is well kept and complete with a gazebo and koi pond. Inside has a large kitchen to prepare food or for caters to set up in. We had 85 guests inside and still had enough room to set up a bar, DJ and dance floor, photo booth, candy bar and a step and repeat. The woman who runs the place is named Linda and she was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout the entire planning process. She gave us the name of someone who did the linens and centerpieces for the lowest price we came across. The entire event went off perfectly without a hitch and everyone had an amazing time. There's only one caveat. Linda does provide security as part of the package, there was a Phoenix Police Officer there during the entire event and he was very friendly to everyone as they entered the building. When the party was over and we started cleaning up, I was taking stuff out to my truck and I heard Linda tell the officer that we had someone that was too intoxicated to drive home and he needed to speak to him. The officer told her that this was a family event and he was confident that the family would handle the situation but Linda still insisted that he come inside to talk to him. I already knew who she was referring to, it was one of my uncles who always drinks too much but he never gets out of control and his wife of 30 years who doesn't drink does the driving. So she comes inside and points out one of the bartenders who is coincidentally wearing the same clothes as my uncle, they both have the same haircut and skin color. When that didn't go as she expected, Linda pointed out one of my cousins and told the police officer she was too intoxicated to drive home. One of my other uncles who doesn't drink was already set to drive her home, so the officer left. I was disappointed by Linda's actions. If she was so concerned with the safety of the only two people who over-drank at our party, she should have approached the host to inquire about their transportation before insisting that the police officer become involved. Neither one of them were doing anything more than acting silly and telling everyone how much they loved them. I could see how this same situation could go horribly awry with different personalities so I felt it worth mentioning. read more

Where do I even begin?! Valley Garden Center was everything I could have hoped for to hold my February 2020 wedding! First off, the manager John is an absolute pleasure to work with. He makes the wedding process easy and does everything to make sure your special day goes perfect. The venue has a beautiful garden that makes a gorgeous and romantic spot for a ceremony and photos. The garden is very spacious where guests are able to walk around as they please. The building to host the reception is split into two different rooms and can accommodate up to 150 guests. The venue also has a full kitchen, and bridal and groom dressing rooms. What I also loved about the venue was that they allow you to bring your own food and alcohol, which saves a ton of money. However, they can also provide you with many different vendors if you need help. Valley Garden Center is very charming and affordable. If you're not looking to break the bank and still have a wonderful place to get married in Phoenix, AZ, definitely check out VGC! You won't regret it! A very dear friend of mine recently had her wedding ceremony and reception here. The building looks like a house and it sits on the corner of a residential neighborhood. There is ample parking and the location is easy to find. Inside, there is a full kitchen, separate male/female bathrooms, and two huge rooms both large enough for dancing. Valley Garden Center will provide tables of assorted sizes and chairs as well for your event, which you can set up inside or outside in the backyard. The backyard is brick-paved with gardens, a pond, full trees providing shade and green grass. There are two large outdoor patio areas in addition to the garden area where we set up the tables for the reception dinner. We arrived early to help set up the tables and chairs and the facility did not provide food, so her wedding was catered, and the chefs had plenty of room in both the kitchen (with island), indoor area, and outdoor tables to get the guests taken care of. This is a very pretty place to host any type of party. I believe she had around ninety guests and we could have easily put three times that many in there. read more
