Kim did such a great job transforming our wedding venue with her drapery! We were stunned when we first walked into Dynasty restaurant on Story road to find our reception venue looking fabulous. Most of all, throughout the planning stages, Kim was detail-oriented, easy to work with, and willing to accommodate my budget. I highly recommend!

Thank you to Kim and her team! Our wedding reception was just amazingly beautiful! All our guests were in "ahhhs and oohhhhs" with the decor. We requested for an outside/garden themed like feel. We wanted our guests to feel like they were out in a garden (since we wanted an outdoor location but we settled for a restaurant). Kim knocked it out of the park and our guests are STILL complimenting on our venue and how beautiful it was. Our photographer even stated that Kim did an amazing job with draping and uplighting the smaller space (compared to upstairs) Kim did go over time with the prior clients' appointments so we ended up waiting for her. So glad we did though. But after having different appointments with her, Kim is very detailed and covers as much as she can to help prepare for the wedding. I can understand why she goes over in time with her clients. She was super helpful to remind me what I needed to do and request from the restaurant. She's a great vendor and a great person to know. Her desire to create beautiful venue space is amazing and she loves challenges. Feel free to challenge her to do something differently. We are 100000% glad we went with Kim.

Before and after photo. Take into account this does not include the uplighting yet!!

My wife and I had our wedding in May of 2014 and we went to Kim for our decorations around Aug 2013. I never thought I would end up being that groomzilla...but I was. My wife and I were very specific with what we wanted...and even worse, we kept changing our mind. There was only one person who could save the day! To paint the portrait a little better, let me explain the predicament my wife and I were in. We both live in Los Angeles, but our families both live in San Jose. It only made sense for us to have the wedding in San Jose. When we had the chance to be in San Jose, it tended to be the weekends, and even then our time was limited. We would request meetings with Kim and she would meet with us on weekends (In retrospect we now realize weekends are the busiest times for her). We constantly communicated with her by email. For the record, we changed our minds about 27 times on the types of flowers, 14 times on the center piece vase, 4 times on the cake, and multiple times on whether we wanted a V, M, draped columns or double draped column for a stage backdrop. Oh, and she met up with us before her mothers day dinner. Even through all that, never once was there one moment where she wasn't fully engaged, sincere and extremely helpful. The first time I walked into our reception, I think my wife and I can both agree that we felt like we were on the reveal of Property Brothers or What not to wear... It was exactly how we had wanted it, except we could never quite envision it before. Or maybe we could envision it, but our ideas were segmented in fragments and incomplete thoughts. I guess through all the listening, sincere feedback and extra work Kim put in, she stitched all of our ideas together. I think the biggest testament to Kim's great work is to realize what the space looked like before the decoration. It's one thing to decorate a nice banquet hall. It's another to decorate a Chinese restaurant. Short of tearing up the carpet and and replacing it, Kim did just about everything she possibly could with the space!~

Kim did our wedding 10/11/14 @ Dynasty San Jose. We wanted to transform the whole upstairs banquet hall to an elegant and romantic wedding. OMG, when we walked in, I was IN LOVE!! We loved everything Kim and her team did. Kim was really sweet and was such a great vendor to work with. She was very accommodating, even with my indecisiveness the week before the wedding. She delivered exactly what I envisioned AND MORE!!!! Everyone loved our reception decorations and was surprised it didn't look like a Chinese Banquet Room. Kim is the best and I would highly recommend her! Book her because she gets booked fast. I'll post pictures because words does not do her justice.

Kim and her team did an amazing job transforming our wedding at a Chinese restaurant. Her decorations were beautiful. I loved the backdrops that she created for us which looked wonderful in our wedding pictures. She gave us a clear idea what to expect before the big day. She was very flexible and even was able to add a couple more chair covers last minute which was very helpful. Thanks again Kim!

Kim is very talented. I love her work and her work ethics. I live in Los angeles but my wedding is in San jose. Although we communicate via email and phone but she takes very detail notes. She did EXACTLY what i asked for and even MORE!!! She always initiate and followi up with her client. she responses very quickly to any of my questions. She always give us little tips and tricks which make wedding planning so much easier. I would highly recommend her to decorate your wedding or any event!

This is a late review but Kim did my wedding in December and the pictures don't even do it complete justice. I was so amazed when I walked in I never wanted to forget that feeling of seeing the decor. Kim was so easy to work with and her prices are more than reasonable with the quality you receive. I didn't have to worry about how much I changed my mind because she always was there to assure me she could make the change and never made me feel like a burden for it. I saw her decor for a wedding she did a week before mine and ended up changing my layout which she did no problem. I will be using her for any future events. Just call and you will see for yourself that she will be your last stop!

Kim was referred to us by a friend. From the start Kim is very professional and caring and detail oriented. I could tell she is talented and had a an eye and vision in making our concept come to life . I was at first hesitant on the cost since it is a big expense but decided to trust her and my wife. Once the wedding day came and we stepped into the venue we were blown away . The guest sign in table, the walkway, the sweet heart table and drapping of the whole restaurant had that wow factor. Our guest came in and I can see from their face that they were wowed. We received so many compliments. She did exactly what we wanted and met our expectation a 10/10 perfect score. Kim you are the best at what you do and I recommend you to all of our friends. Thank you so much for making our wedding a perfect day .

    Cake Table

Kim went above and beyond our expectations for our wedding. In the beginning stages of planning, we met with her several times in her little office. I was amazed at all the items she had inside because she made most of them herself, which already showcased her creativity. My husband and I told her some ideas of what we wanted and she made sure to implement that with the rest of her decorating. It's just a relief to work with someone who listens to you and works hard to create your dream. In fact, there was one time she called me to let me know that she came up with a wonderful idea for our centerpieces while she was in bed the night before and she wanted to meet with us to see what we thought. On the day of the wedding, she was kind enough to drop off my bridesmaids' and my flowers to our room. They were ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!! She has a certain technique to "painting" her flowers certain colors, and ours looked so beautiful infused with royal blue. When I walked into the ceremony room, I was amazed at how simple yet elegant she made the room. Our suggested idea of lit up water vases with a submerged flower on pillars for the aisle came to life! And in the reception room, when we suggested some water vases with submerged christmas ornament balls she definitely delivered. The guests loved the centerpieces so much that none of them were left behind. I would love to describe all of her decorations, but I will post pictures instead because that speaks louder than words. Kim is a wonderful decorator and I am SO HAPPY that we found her. Her prices are very reasonable and she doesn't try to nickel and dime you. She gives you ideas if you don't really know what you want, but she doesn't try to force them on you and she always listens to what you want. She also has referrals for other wedding items, such as stationary and cake. And if you need cake cutters, wedding baskets, champagne flutes she also has them readily available for sale. You will not be disappointed with Kim as your decorator.

Backdrop was perfect and beautiful fresh flowers everywhere

I can't rave enough about Kim who decorated our September wedding at Dynasty SJ 1st floor. I had a vision of having a paper flower backdrop, I showed Kim a photo and she made it happen. The drapes were tasteful and there was an abundant amount of flowers which transformed the room into an elegant wedding venue. Kim was so easy to work with. She responded to emails quickly and answered all my questions. I changed my mind about 5 times about different things and she was able to accommodate us. We also rented the red trays for the tea ceremony from her. Everything was perfect at restaurant. I highly recommend Valley Event decor for wedding decorations.

Kim recently decorated our wedding. I was really happy with all of her services, the flowers, centerpieces the backdrop for photo and the stage backdrop was so beautiful. She was very helpful and easy to work with. I would highly recommended Valley Event Decor to anyone who is planning on getting married.

Valley Event Decor is one of the best event decor company in the town. Kim does an excellent job in understanding her clients' needs and goes way beyond to provide the best service with many options to choose from. Kim is so amazing! Very patient, creative, inspirational, knowledgeable, professional, sincere, and trustworthy. I would like to thank Kim for the amazing decor that she put together for our wedding. The details were spot on and the little surprises that we didn't expect added a more personal touch that I never would have thought of. The décor completely transformed our room into a very elegant ballroom. The guests had many compliments and I had no complaints. I definitely recommend Kim for her dedication & hard work. I shall keep in touch for future events as well!

We worked with Amazae from the moment we knew we wanted to get married (before we got engaged,…read moretechnically. Ha). Both of us are extremely busy re: our jobs and knew that we wouldn't be able to dedicate enough time to truly planning an event of this scale. If you're on the fence, go with Amazae. My husband, before we hired Amazae, was on the fence of whether or not we needed planning services. I told him that if we did not hire someone that there would be no wedding. By the time we had finished our venue search, he knew that I was totally right re: the amount of help you get by leveraging someone else's expertise. You do this once (hopefully) in your life. Amazae does this all the time. Amazae knew all the ins and outs of every venue that we could possibly think of in the Bay Area, Carmel, and Napa. They were able to tell us who was beer and wine only, who had a 10pm end time because of noise ordinances, and who required you to use certain caterers that were $x per head. This will save you SO much time and save you visits to random places that don't meet your requirements. Vendor sourcing - they are super good at this re: figuring out (or making you figure out what you like) who matches your style for every vendor, then finding one that fits in your budget. Most importantly, they will make sure everyone shows up (join any wedding FB group and read some horror stories). They will help you with all of the contracting and the collection of COIs, etc. Again, this would have been IMPOSSIBLE for myself and my now husband. We literally do not have the hours in the day to do this. This team is on top of everything - they will chase you down if they need to for answers for pieces of your event. They can make anything happen - from the weirdest requests to the most mundane. They are so professional, and they really make your wedding super personal. Amazae designed and executed a beautiful event from beginning to end that felt so authentic to us. Day of, they were there to take care of everything, and it was truly a flawless day. We could not asked for a better planner re: Crystal, Kaila, and the rest of the team. We put full trust in them re: the design of this event and the day of. Example: I honestly did not know what florals were going to be there, but they were so stunning. The strength of the Amazae team is in their ability to bring you and your personality into an event that is mostly structured a certain way. They also make your day as stress-free as possible. I cannot say enough positive things about this team and their ability to make your wedding great. If you're down to hand things off to someone else, I would say hand it off to them. It will be better than what you could have come up with yourself.

That's why we decided to hire an event planner for our daughter's wedding in January 2021. Even though it was a small backyard wedding, we wanted it to be memorable and elegant. We interviewed 3 different event planners, and got 3 rough quotes, all around the same ballpark. Amazae's quote, however, was the most detailed, breaking down a high & low range for each item (food, florals, rentals, photography, etc.) It was an easy choice to contract with them. Crystal came onsite for our first meeting, and I really didn't have a lot for her to go on. My daughter isn't the Pinterest type, so I just told Crystal the wedding colors and showed her pictures of the wedding gown and bridesmaid gowns. The rest of the planning was all done via zoom, emails, and a few phone calls. We worked mostly with Caitlin, who is an amazing planner. Each step along the way, she gave us several options to choose from. For example, she provided a list of 4 photographers, their quote for the day, their profile, their gallery, etc. Once all of our choices were made, she put together a design deck that gave us a preview of the entire wedding. It was more gorgeous than I envisioned. On the day of the wedding, Lisa came out to set everything up. She even picked up the florals and wedding cake to save us the delivery fees. It was a little hectic when I met her, and I probably spent 5 minutes with her showing her where everything was before we left for the church ceremony. And when we came back, she was driving off, leaving behind a magical transformation of yard. Everyone was stunned. The catering crew then took over and prepared a "Top Chef" level meal. And when they left, my kitchen was as clean as when they arrived. My husband commented, "Whatever we paid for this wedding, it was worth every penny." Haha. True. As a designer myself, I had a good idea of what I wanted my wedding mandap to look like. I also knew I wanted a larger mandap, which is sometimes hard to come by. Satvir was open to feedback and had a large rustic 10x12 mandap her team had built. It had nice large wooden beams and worked perfectly with our venue. I wanted bright florals that felt full and satvir delivered. I was very happy with how the final product turned out. She also dealt with all the crazy SF rules including zip tying all the chairs together and getting the fire permit which was required by the city. This was such a stress relief for us since we didn't know how to handle all the rules and regulations. In addition, something I really value about Satvir's approach is how she reuses florals. It pains me to see how much flowers are wasted at weddings, and I wanted a more sustainable approach. The florals from our mandap were reused for our reception and satvir touched them up and made them look beautiful. None of our guests even noticed they were the same florals. I loved the fact that we didn't waste flowers and everything was gorgeous. She also managed to do this in a very tight timeline and killed it!! Highly recommend satvir, you will not regret it.

A friend referred us to Vicky, and we didn't think twice. In hindsight, perhaps we should have done more research, but we are easygoing people. We communicated our vision, gave Vicky creative freedom, and trusted her as a professional. We weren't difficult. We asked for something simple, elegant, and meaningful. Instead, we experienced stress, embarrassment, and disappointment. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Vicky voiced concerns that our venue, Koi Palace, was too small. We reassured her we had attended several beautiful weddings there ourselves, space doesn't seem to be an issue. While she eventually said she'd make it work, her lingering doubt was noticeable. On the day of the wedding, I arrived at the venue at 5:20 PM and found our guests waiting outside due to the venue not being ready. Inside, I observed Vicky and her team still working and did not wrap up until 6:00 PM, the scheduled start time of our reception. Later, Vicky insisted she had finished by 5:30 PM and had time to mingle with our vendors, but that version didn't align with what I witnessed or what our vendors shared. The most heartbreaking part came when my wife and I stood before the photo backdrop to take pictures with our guests. Instead of our correct monogram, the backdrop displayed the letters "V & A," despite my wife's name starting with a "J". Our guests noticed and pointed it out. We were stunned. To us, this wasn't a minor mistake, it was a glaring and deeply embarrassing moment. We ended up removing the initials ourselves. Even then, we didn't lash out. We waited, hoping Vicky might follow up to ask how the day went. She didn't. Two days later, I reached out and met with Vicky in person. I calmly asked how she thought the event went. She indicated everything went great and didn't recall any issues. When I showed her a photo of the incorrect initials, she looked at it without immediately recognizing the mistake. Only after I pointed it out did she acknowledged it and offered to Photoshop the images as a solution. That moment was disheartening. It showed a lack of understanding of what her role meant to us. This wasn't about a photo, it was about how we felt in a moment that can't be edited. It was about getting the basics right on a day that only happens once. After expressing our disappointment, we asked Vicky for a 30 percent refund. Not out of spite or anger, but because we truly felt the value of the service fell short of what was promised. The emotional weight of her error left an unsavory impact throughout our evening. We didn't demand the refund on the spot. I encouraged her to sleep on it and consider our perspective, to put herself in our shoes. She appreciated how non-confrontational we were and ultimately verbally agreed to the refund via Zelle. Three days went by. Nothing. I followed up with a message. No response. Eventually, Vicky replied and asked to speak. During our conversation, she reversed course and said she no longer felt the refund was warranted. She maintained the decor had been finished well before 6:00 PM and sent us a video of guests taking their seats at 6:01 PM, which only confirmed she or her team were still at the venue at that time. Technically, she completed the decor by the start time, which falls within the contract, and while we shared our plans for pre-reception desserts and snacks, we cannot fault her for that aspect. As for the wrong initials, to her credit, Vicky was apologetic to some degree and acknowledged the error, but indicated a 30 percent refund was unrealistic. I explained again this wasn't about a backdrop, it was about my wife being displayed by the wrong name, in front of everyone, on her wedding day. It was about the emotional toll and the lapse in attention to detail, especially when Vicky had worked almost exclusively with my wife during planning. How that mistake happened is still beyond me. Candidly, Vicky admitted to mixing up my wife's name with another bride. In the end, Vicky refunded 7.5 percent, stating since we removed the initials, it didn't technically ruin the wedding. No, it didn't ruin the wedding. But it undoubtedly affected how we felt. It cast a shadow over the night. It made us feel discounted, dismissed, and ultimately shorted of a service we were counting on. I believe Vicky put effort into her work. I believe she cares to a point. But her unwillingness to follow through on her word or genuinely consider the emotional impact of her mistake left us deeply disappointed. Mistakes happen, but how you respond to them matters just as much as the service you provide.

He definitely is more of a carefree guy but wanted to make the moment special for me and she did all the heavy lifting and cared so much about the overall experience for us, she added in extra details he wouldn't have even thought of and provided additional tips for him. I couldn't have been happier with my proposal and I'm so grateful Vicky was able to be there to help execute my fiancé's vision! Now onto the wedding ;)

For our first in-person meeting, we came prepared with slide decks with detailed inspirations on what we were hoping to execute. We appreciated Linnae's in-depth knowledge and her advice to help us stay within budget, while still staying true to overall aesthetic. On the day of the wedding, Jennifer and the rest of the team were so great to work with! There wasn't ever an uneasy feeling due to their constant communication with our coordinators. During the reveal, I couldn't help but to cry tears of joy because everything was SO BEAUTIFUL. What started out as just a vision and some inspo pics became something so beautiful that surpassed all of our expectations. We are so grateful for Linnae, Jennifer, and the rest of the team's hard work and we can't thank them enough!!! I recently found my wedding venue and on their preferred vendors list was Asiel. I immediately came…read moreacross this gorgeous picture of a dark, sultry setting with candles and wrought iron gates and was mesmerized. I see it on Pinterest often and had to reach out and see how much this beautiful setup could be. I expected expensive but hoped to be surprised. I was shocked. I only inquired about the main draw of the photos for me. The entry gate, the iron arch, and the aisle candles. Meg was superbly friendly and delivered an estimate covering what I had asked for. The estimate was completely disheartening. Since I'm sure there are many others who are curious how much this look costs, I will share what I was quoted. Entry gates when you walk in- $450 Iron arch in front of fireplace- $750 12 clusters of floating candles in cylinders- $540 if displayed in clusters. Otherwise $10 each individual like displayed in photo ($45 for each cluster) New/refresh candles for cylinders to use as table centerpiece ($72 for 12 new candles) Delivery- $495 Installation- $575 Transfer (from ceremony to reception) -$295 Pick-up $325 Plus tax. This comes out to roughly $4,000 and still doesn't include curtain, tall candle holding pieces, and flowers. They have exclusive florists as well (probably them I'm assuming) so who knows how much that would end up being. Beautiful, but not at all reasonable. My guess with flowers and the other candle holders and curtains puts this look in the 10k region. Too bad. I love this look so so much, but to charge $1,690 for delivery/install/pick-up is just crazy. Granted they are coming from San Jose... but still. Can I just set it up myself?? I'm very curious to see wedding photos of this look to see if a 10k 30 minute ceremony is worth it. Just hard for me to imagine because I haven't seen any photos of someone actually using this look yet. Hopefully someday someone can afford it and post online. My rating is three stars because it's a fair enough company. Their philosophy states that the price tag reflects the "value" of their services that have been around for 20 years. Meg was also kind and took the time to build me an estimate which was much appreciated. The main downfall of this company is that I can't afford it. If you can, I'd recommend giving them a shot. If their professional photos reflect their actual work I'd say they are worth it. Till then... I'm still looking.

Otis was kind with great attention to detail from the start. Ultimately, we decided with the glam package and our contract was very clear to understand with cost breakdown for removal of specific services / add-ons. I updated it many times with Jessica, our planner, as we made changes throughout the months, and she was always so patient and clear. Our MC Otis did a wonderful job with maintaining flow of the program. Otis was also working as DJ for a good portion of the evening, so props to him! We had closer to an hour compared to 1.5 hours of open dancing because we were behind schedule, but everybody was on the dance floor and he kept the party going seamlessly. Weddings are hectic and there are so many moving parts; we did get behind schedule but we were still able to do everything we wanted to do. Our photo & video services were set to end, but Otis was very professional in discussing with us if we wanted to extend our video services, communicative on additional cost, at the moment. Our photographer, Ben, along with the team Stanford and videographer, Christina, were so fun to work with. Ben was great at providing direction, which is especially helpful since we were not used to posing. I have not received photo & video yet as it has only been a week, but from an experience standpoint, they were attentive to detail, communicative, and glided effortlessly through the event. My makeup artist, Vivi, is the sweetest person. She was super attentive to detail and my particular skin type. I was worried about makeup because I don't wear heavy makeup often. I ended up paying for a make-up trial, and I was so happy working with Vivi that I had no worries for the wedding day. We also added-on make up for our mothers, which Vivi did the morning of. The reception decor turned out so pretty! Everything was set-up as scheduled. I was really happy with the welcome backdrop and name sign. It was also great to take pictures with guests with the backdrop since we had time during cocktail hour. We asked TDE to incorporate a large screen as the backdrop of our sweetheart table, so we found an example from a previous wedding they did, and it turned out exactly as expected. We added the photo-booth, which was so popular with the guests! There were so many cool props and our guests were having tons of fun with it. I also sent TDE a custom drawing that I wanted for the photo strips- and it turned out just like I imagined. We chose Grand Dynasty as our reception venue, and TDE communicated set-up details with our restaurant event manager, Esmond, in the days leading up to the event. I highly recommend TDE and the team that we worked with! Thank you for making it an unforgettable experience.
