Thank you so much Purvi for helping us create an amazing weekend!! Purvi's relationships with vendors are a huge asset, and she helped us work closely with them to meet our needs (and beyond!) within our budget. She was a great advisor and wealth of knowledge, and made sure all of our events went very perfectly, and no small details were missed! (Not to mention making sure we were all fed throughout!). We worked with Avant Planners for our daughter's wedding, and it was an amazing experience. We heard great things about Purvi and her team from the venues we shortlisted and they certainly lived up to the praise. For 18 months, Purvi guided us through the wedding planning process, made it smooth and stress-free. She has excellent vendor connections and a strong team, who managed the wedding day coordination and logistics with care and efficiency. Purvi and her husband are a sweet, loving couple, and we felt their warmth in every detail. Planning a wedding can be challenging and stressful, but Avant Planners took care of most of the critical activities. We highly recommend Purvi and her team to anyone planning a wedding! read more

When my husband and I got engaged and found a venue we loved leaving us only 3 months to plan, we were overwhelmed and nervous we had committed to something we couldn't pull off. Then, we found Purvi after seeing her work on Instagram. We loved our first meeting with her--warm, personable, and confident that we would pull off a great, big, Indian wedding. With a short timeline, we had to identify vendors and make lots of big and small decisions quickly. Time and time again, Purvi gave us the right context we needed to shortcut our decision-making process and we ended up with a wonderful set of vendors. Additionally, her partnerships with our vendors including Flowers By Edgar, Fine Linen, and Jalsa, helped the wedding planning process and ultimately all our events run smoothly. Last. but not least, as soon as our multi-day event began, my husband nor I attended to a single detail or worried about a thing. Purvi handled all the coordination in the background and helped out until the very end (she made us the nicest to go bag of food and cake from the wedding at the end of the evening event). We could not have hoped for a more beautiful and fun wedding. We highly recommend Purvi as a wedding planner--thanks Purvi for all your hard work!! read more

Purvi and her contacts of vendors were phenomenal to work with! We had a 250 person celebration in the Bay Area and planned it over a year. She catered to our needs with both sides parents being involved in the planning process and did so with ease, grace and extreme professionalism. She even helped us navigate last minute weather changes that could have been catastrophic for our outdoor wedding and found a solution that was practical and beautiful. Our wedding was gorgeous as a result of the hard work and we have received non-stop comments from all the guests of what a great time they had. Plus she and her husband took great care of us day of by personally making sure we were well fed! Thank you! read more

We knew when we wanted to do a wedding at a winery that it would require a lot of attention and planning! Luckily, Purvi had all the experience and connections to make sure this day went off without a hitch. She came prepared with an idea of what all of the components of our wedding day would look like and had a plan to put all of those pieces together. The vendors she recommended were all exceptionally professional and easy to work with - and it's great to see that she has maintained such close relationships with all of them over the years! I'd say Purvi especially excelled at the logistical and operational aspects of wedding planning - she made sure we stayed on track with weekly progress meetings, even when she herself was on vacation or out of town (we got her full package and started planning 1.5 yrs before, so it was a lot of meetings/time that she dedicated towards us!). She and her team (including her husband!) were everywhere the day-of the wedding, ensuring that we were well-fed, our families were happy, and guests were taken care of. Not to mention the team itself is so kind and such a pleasure to be around, even when my husband and I were running on only a couple hrs of sleep :') If you're looking to have a large wedding and want the logistics to truly be taken care of, we highly recommend going with Purvi and her team at Avant Planners. Weddings can be a stressful event, and it was so helpful to have someone like Purvi in our corner. read more

Purvi was a complete savior as I had only a month and a half to plan a big Indian wedding in a new city. Purvi was key to making our wedding weekend feel worry-free. Other than focusing on getting myself ready, I felt like a guest at every event, thanks to her impeccable coordination. She managed every detail, ensuring that neither my family nor I had to worry about a thing. Beyond that, Purvi and her husband were constantly attentive to my husband and me, making sure we were well-fed, hydrated, and comfortable. They even went out of their way to get me coffee early in the morning, despite the venue's remote location, simply because they thought it would make me feel better. Her expertise in the Bay Area Indian wedding industry is truly unparalleled. With fantastic relationships with vendors and venues, she helped us secure our top choices as well as discounts. read more

If you want to plan your own wedding this is your woman. She was hired for my brother's wedding and her job is to alleviate stress, not add more. Luckily my sister knew what she was doing and was able to pull it together but this lady tries to force her vendors on you, she waits until the last minute and you end up doing the job yourself. We had to check in with her rather than meetings be arranged with us to see what needs to be done. Lastly, she blames us for when things go wrong instead of being proactive and helping to fix the issue when brought to her attention. I wish I had positive feedback but I cannot in good faith recommend her. read more

Edit: I had sent a personal email that took me a while to compile with my feedback to Purvi and her immediate response was not to apologize and to defend her actions. This shows that she is not receptive to feedback from clients even though there was clear evidence of wrong doing. Original: Let's keep this short and to the point- if I had to give less than one star I would for the Indian wedding she "planned" for my husband and I in June at the Ritz Carlton of Half Moon Bay. From start to finish, she did not line up the timelines correctly or coordinated with our vendors so that they were aware of what to do and made our guests feel like they knew where to go and what to do the day of the wedding. My husband and I had to do everything ourselves last minute. Based on reading other positive reviews and seeing the photos of happy clients on their social media, I am under the impression that Purvi may be picking and choosing certain clients that she'll work well on the event for and as a warning for folks who don't know her personally or have connections, this may be a huge concern when negotiating an event contract with her. I do not and will not recommend her to any of my friends for their weddings or major events in this area and have concrete evidence to back up my negative review if she or her team contests this feedback. read more

Thank you so much, Avantplanners and Purvi, for your help in planning my family's wedding! My sister was delighted at how you were able to make her wedding dreams come true. The wedding was on-time and every aspect of it was planned well. Purvi was professional, yet personable, and it was a delight to work with her. She was responsive to emails and texts, but made sure we weren't overwhelmed by the amount of communication. She gave use so many ideas and my family and the guests loved how everything turned out. The pandemic made it so that the guest count was constantly fluctuating and Purvi made sure we were able to accommodate our guests no matter what (seating charts, hotel rooms, transportation, etc). This would have proved to be a challenge on our own, but it was a success with her help. We would recommend her to any family that is looking for their wedding dreams to be turned into reality. Working with Purvi was amazing! From start to finish, she was able to execute our vision and make our wedding planning and vendor coordination go flawlessly. We had a lot going on with work and other obligations and Purvi made our lives so much easier. When we had to make a rain plan the week of the wedding, Purvi's execution made it such that we didn't have to worry about a single detail. Her ideas for our decor were also amazing. We got so many compliments on the wedding. Thank you so much, Purvi! read more

I was fairly clueless about weddings, but I knew given my timeline, that I needed a planner. I setup a video call with Purvi to talk to her and understand her role. She sounded like a complete professional and we felt confident in moving ahead. I paid for Avant Planner's complete package (from venue selection to the final minute). Purvi was very helpful in helping us finalize venues, and helping us prioritize the task list that we should be focusing on. Besides just helping check off tasks from the list, she was very valuable in being a resource who could answer our questions. The basics were obviously handled well -- helping select vendors, coordinating with vendors, keeping everyone on the same page, managing the venue requirements -- the list is large. The note worthy effort was on the wedding day -- Purvi and her staff got appetizers to our room during the cocktail hour, and got the bride & groom to have dinner before they had to go back to the events. The minor improvements I'd suggest is that since Purvi provides a lot of assistance into the final day, it would be helpful to let her future clients know what she does on the wedding day. It would help clarify and calm a few of the final day jitters. The other suggestion would be that she could proactively schedule periodic calls when we had periods of radio silence, often times, those lull periods build up wedding "anxiety". My wife and I are from India and organizing a Bay Area wedding in under 3 months was no easy accomplishment. And Purvi had a significant impact on this wedding plan becoming a big success -- an event that our guests and families enjoyed. read more

Purvi Aunty helped make our dream wedding a reality! We were assured that everything would be completed in a timely manner from our very first video call, which put us at ease. Every task was managed from start to finish with exceptional attention to detail. On wedding week, every event was flawless. The smallest of details were taken care of with enthusiasm. Purvi Aunty remained in constant communication with us throughout the planning process and made everything so easy. Purvi Aunty, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making the beginning of this beautiful journey so special. Purvi was the perfect match for our wedding planning needs and we knew it right from the very first consultation. With her easy going, honest, and upfront style, she helped us pull off a beautiful wedding that will always live in our memories! She made the planning process so much smoother by providing sound advice whenever we needed it, responding promptly, helping with vendor connections and coordination, making time for frequent meetings to iron out plans & details, and of course helping execute things precisely on the day of the event. Her husband, Sameer, who works with her was also extremely helpful on the day of with setting things up and tending to our every need. Overall, we are extremely grateful to have worked with a planner like Purvi who genuinely enjoys what she does. Especially after hearing horror stories from friends who got married in the same year about their planners Thankfully, we always felt that we were in good hands with Purvi and would highly recommend working with her! read more

We worked with Purvi for month of coordination for our wedding in San Francisco, CA. As a bride who really sweated the details of wedding planning, I had a high bar for execution on the day of. Purvi stepped in and made everything happen. From ensuring we stuck to the timeline, to managing all vendors, the event was flawless. I was amazed at how everything came together and that was because of Purvi. Our guests raved about how incredible the event was and also how on time everything was! Our reception venue was complicated since we chose a museum and there was no kitchen. Everything had to be brought in and timing was very tight. We actually could start earlier because vendors came in on time and everything was incredibly efficient. This is all because of Purvi's flawless execution. I recommend working with Purvi. I could trust Purvi entirely and given how complicated our wedding was, she really rose to the task and made the day amazing. read more

Purvi was literally my best friend throughout this whole process. From helping my family understand the wedding planning process to calming me down each weekly call and the day of - she truly has this art down. She has the best contacts, the best can-do attitude, and easily was the MVP of our whole production. The amount of family, guests, friends, etc we had that came up to us with compliments for Purvi - wow! We had 3 events over the span of 2 days and they all went seamlessly - thanks to her and her team. If you are thinking about hiring a planner (you should) and if you're lucky enough to have her available for your weekend, hiring her will be the best decision you make! Purvi and her team did an amazing job at our wedding! We hired Avantplanners for day-of-coordination. She was constantly checking in with me, making sure everything was secure with our vendors and that every piece of information was ready for our big day. Her spreadsheets were extremely organized and super easy to fill out and she comes with great list of recommended vendors! Instead of looking on my own and figuring it out, majority of our vendors were from her lists. Three days before our wedding, she called to inform me that our horse vendor had a personal emergency and would not be able to make it. In the same call, she informed me that she had already called another horse vendor and he was available for that weekend. She quickly connected me with him and he was booked within a few hours. Saved the day! The day of, there was an outfit mishap right before the ceremony and she had safety pins ready in her purse. There was a need for advil and little did we know, she had some in her purse! She was fully prepared for anything we might have needed that day. She very quickly got to know the important members in our wedding party and any time she needed something, she went to them first - kept me at ease the entire day. I felt more relaxed the day of than I thought I would! read more

We hired Ms. Purvi Shah as the wedding planner for our daughter's 160-guest Indian wedding ceremony and dinner reception some 6 months prior to the event date. In a nutshell, Purvi was incredible and professional on every front -- simply fabulous. For starters, I appreciated her attention to detail, her diligence, and her coordinating skills. In aggregate, these traits were not only a lifesaver for us but also highlighted her exemplary work ethic and broad expertise in the planning and execution of the various tasks associated with such events. Her conscientiousness was also very commendable, I might add. She was always available to advise us and provide valuable insights on vendor selection and setting up the hall layout, which we very much appreciated. I found Purvi to be well-connected with the various vendors and was impressed by her ability to coordinate the work of the vendors we selected. All in all, the entire day's activities were a tremendous success. In summary, Purvi can be a very valuable addition to one's close circle in the realm of planning and coordinating such events. Very impressive, Purvi. Thank you for the wonderful job, and we wish you continued success in all your endeavors." --- Ramesh & Patricia Ramchandani, Bride's parents read more

Purvi was a great help to us for our day of coordination. I was in charge of creating the timeline and I had some surprises that I wanted to hide from my family and I told Purvi not tell my mom. Interestingly enough, my family also had some surprises they didn't want to tell us and they told Purvi. Purvi was super good at and gave both parties timelines that didn't spill the surprises. The good part was that she kept the vendors involved and always made sure they knew what was happening. Even though we only hired her for day of coordination she made sure to contact all of our vendors before the event and made sure they all had the schedule. Everything went on time and smooth during the event and we were happy with how it turned out! read more

I am an event planner by trade, but when it came to our wedding this past July, I knew I needed someone who knew the ins-and-outs of weddings and could help to execute my vision. I knew I also wanted someone who had experience in both Indian weddings (specifically Punjabi Sikh weddings) and western style weddings as well. Purvi coordinated both our Gurdwara ceremony and lunch on Friday and then our western ceremony and reception on Saturday. Purvi really fit the bill - she was very experienced and organized and she also had a lot of knowledge of how both Punjabi Sikh weddings and western weddings should run. Furthermore, I am a strong believer that you don't need to be rude or pushy to get the job done. Purvi was direct and efficient (as is required to keep things on schedule) but kind, professional and SO responsive. I cannot emphasize how key this is and how RARE it was to find someone who responded right away to any questions or concerns I had. I like how Purvi's day-of coordination package comes with working with her for the month prior because there are a lot of details to iron out and you need that time to get to know each other and for her to get to know the event. I would say if you don't have a lot of experience planning events, working with vendor contracts, thinking through event details, that you should hire Purvi for the full event planning because she will really make sure your event and the event-planning process goes smoothly for you. We loved working with Purvi and would 10/10 would hire her again - but hopefully won't need to do that!! read more

Planning a wedding is frankly overwhelming and difficult. Having Avant Planners/Purvi put our families at ease. We started almost a year before our wedding and set up a plan and schedule and with that, kept us on track. With the extra complications and regulations of Covid during May 2021, having Purvi to figure regulations and rules was invaluable. She dealt with communication between the vendors and venue. Figuring out vaccine/testing requirements without Purvi would have lead us to cancelling our wedding with all the stress. The wedding had its surprises (as all Indian weddings do) but Purvi was vital in getting it solved and being prepared with all her experience doing so many weddings. Avant Planners were recommended from a family friend and we are glad we went with her. read more

My spouse and I worked with Purvi and Avant Planners for our wedding day coordination in December 2023 in Berkeley. We can't recommend Purvi highly enough for any couples seeking wedding planning or coordination services. We are a queer, inter-racial couple and Avant Planners was not only affirming of our diverse and unique relationship, but offered us recommendations for vendors who would do the same. Purvi's incredible attention to detail allowed us to be truly present on our wedding day and not have to think about any details, including small touches like making sure lunch after the ceremony was packaged for us to eat in between the ceremony and reception. Purvi and team did an amazing job at our wedding in Bay area! In Feb, we reached out to her to plan a September wedding and 2 weeks in, we changed our date to April. Purvi worked closely with all vendors and made sure everything was perfect on the wedding day. It's not usual for the bride and the groom to enjoy their own wedding day as usually there is a lot of stress on that day but special shout out to Purvi and her day-off co-ordinators, we had a blast! Whatever we asked for, Purvi's answer was always "yes" and she somehow made it happen. She has a vast amount of resources, and was helpful with suggestions when we needed it. We truly could not have planned our wedding weekend without her (A fusion wedding of 300+ guests, and 2 days of festivities)! Purvi also works with a wonderful team, who were so attentive and made sure my dress bustle was pinned (after a slight malfunction), we received a hot meal (even before the guests), and that we were always well taken care of. Purvi and her team were so amazing to work with! All her vendor recommendations worked out perfectly. She helped find vendors, make decisions, check the contracts, negotiate with vendors, coordinate the actual events, make sure we got to eat at the events, and overall make it a magical weekend! As the Bride's mother I was not local and needed a wedding planner who would help with vendor selection and help with reducing the load on my daughter. Purvi was amazing! She helped us every step of the way, ensuring our vision came to fruition. She is extremely supportive of every wacky idea and encouraged our creativity, knowing that each couple wants their day to be "unique" she truly made us feel that we were, and that she was there for US. Day of, her help was invaluable. She was everywhere and things went EXTREMELY smoothly. She is calm and gets things done. Thank you for making our wedding weekend everything and more. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Purvi as a full-service planner for our wedding in San Jose, CA and we could not be happier with our choice! She is professional, knowledgeable and ultimately helped us make our wedding dreams a reality. We planned our entire Indian wedding in just under four months and Purvi helped us with every single detail from vendor selection, weekly meetings, design and vision, and even tiny details like welcome bags/favors, etc. Even before any small hiccups or road blocks could cause me stress, Purvi was on it and helped us tackle every issue that came up with our venue, logistics, etc. I can happily say that on the day of the wedding, everything ran so smoothly, the decor was beautiful, our events all ran on time and she made sure all our objectives were met -- and as a result we truly had the most magical wedding. We went with Purvi for our wedding on Aug 25, 2018, based on positive Yelp reviews. Purvi started out very enthusiastic and helped us secure decorators, catering, florist, etc. However, as we got closer to the wedding, Purvi started becoming unavailable (to the point where she would not take calls and insisted on all communication by email). More importantly on the day of the wedding we had several hiccups with the venue (not her fault), but Purvi was not available to handle those. As the day of the event coordinator, I expected a lot more involvement from her and expected her to be on top of the issues as they came along. We found ourselves chasing her. Part of the issue was that she was managing 2 weddings on the same day and that really impacted her ability to help us when we needed her the most. I am sure Purvi has done well for others, but from my personal experience you are better off looking elsewhere or at least making sure she commits to the services you expect from her (verbally or in writing). read more

The first thing we booked before anything for our June 2019 wedding was our planner. So Purvi was with us from the very start of our wedding planning until the very end. Basically anything we had doubts on, we would immediately call up Purvi and get her opinion. She helped us manage everything from: -finding venues and calling them for availability -connecting us with good vendors, such as DJ, decorator, caterer, etc. -securing vendors and good deals, managing contracts -helping solve any conflicts or disagreements between our families -making sure we were getting everything finalized on time -making sure we actually ordered/booked everything we need (we didn't even realize how many small but important details you need to book/plan/order - Purvi was on top of that) -creating our weekend timeline for us / vendors (huge help) -making sure guests were directed to the venues properly -making sure vendors were delivering what was planned and promised the list goes on... To the brides - if you are looking for someone to help bring your vision to life and help make sure you get what YOU want, not what your families want, then Purvi is your girl. The whole weekend went by very smoothly with timings, details, decor, food, vendors, etc. I barely noticed any flaws or hiccups, if any, the entire weekend! To anyone reading this review in search of a wedding planner - your search is over. Bringing Purvi Shah from Avant Planners onboard to plan our wedding was 100% THE best decision we made. We are still in the process of planning a postponed wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Purvi has been our saving grace during this stressful time. Purvi has been in the game for over 17 years and as such, knows EVERYONE in the wedding and event space within the Bay Area. Every single vendor we came into contact with during the entire planning process not only knew of Purvi, but raved about her. It was important to us to find a planner whose recommendations matched our taste as my fiancé and I both have busy work schedule and don't have much time to research our options. Every single vendor that Purvi introduced us to blew us out of the water in terms of their offerings. From food caterers to florists to DJ (and more), we have been thoroughly impressed with each and every recommendation from Purvi. Purvi also really stood out to us was her role as an incredibly effective facilitator. When it came to setting up introductions, meetings, following up and pushing through for feedback and updates from vendors, and negotiating on our behalf, we always felt that Purvi was in our corner 'fighting' on our behalf. All of this alone makes Avant Planners a 'must-have' recommendation from us for wedding planning, but what truly impressed us was her handling of events in this past month. Our wedding was originally scheduled for April 18th 2020 and with COVID-19 news crescendoing in March, we grew increasingly anxious about the feasibility of keeping the date. Mid-March, we talked it through with Purvi and decided to pull the plug and postpone our event. Within 24 hours, she orchestrated a successful rebooking of our wedding date - keeping every single one of our vendors - to a date in the fall, with updated contracts in our inboxes and no penalty fees. To anyone that has even looked at booking wedding venues, you know how spots regularly get taken up a year in advance. To pull off what she did is nothing short of astounding. We were already impressed by Purvi but after everything she helped us with we really cannot recommend her enough! read more
