Mandap collapsed during our Hindu wedding ceremony
    Jacek W.

My wife and I worked with Satvir at SB Arts as our decorator for our Hindu wedding ceremony. Leading up to the wedding, Satvir was pleasant to work with. Her pricing was clear and transparent, which we noticed was not always the case with other decorators. She under-quoted us on one wedding item in our contract, but she honored the lower pricing upon realizing this mistake, which we appreciated. That said, the mandap that her team constructed collapsed on me (the groom) in front of all of our guests as my wife was about to walk down the aisle. Our family and a few staff members from our venue rushed up to help rebuild it, during which some of the piping hit one of our cousins on the head. Several family members then had to sit in the hot sun in chairs around the mandap for the rest of the ceremony to make sure it stayed up. Our understanding is that Satvir dispatched some team members to help, but they did not show up until after our wedding ceremony was over. She apologized by email after saying that there must have been extraordinary wind, but there was not - it was a sunny day in early September in San Jose. She told us she had worked at our venue before and she was there on the morning of our wedding for setup, so we expected everything would be appropriately constructed. Needless to say, we were quite disappointed. Satvir also told us by email afterward that "if we were doing the Reception décor as well we would have stayed on site and been able to catch the problem earlier." We felt it was unfair of her to blame the collapsing mandap on us not booking her for more events. Overall, we felt that Satvir was a nice person and was pleasant to work with leading up to our wedding, but we did not have a positive experience with her team's decor on the day of the wedding.

2 Part Review (SB Arts + Bobby's Wedding Day Coordinator Service) Satvir is 5 stars OBVIOUSLY Because Satvir was so freakin AMAGING during my engagement, it was a no brainer that I hire her for my wedding. I hired Satvir for my henna night (home décor), my ceremony decor, and my reception décor (hotel décor). Since I had worked with her previously - I really trusted her judgment and taste. We met to discuss the look I was going for my wedding and then she did her magic. It was seriously as easy as that. Anyone who is debating or trying to compare with other décor vendors - don't waste your time. I thought she was very detailed, does not beat around the bush, and for everything she did - she was affordable. I wouldn't have settled for anything but the best for my wedding and Satvir is the BEST! On to the next Bobby's Wedding Coordinator Service 5+ and BEYOND I hired her for my 2 day wedding and seriously without Bobby my wedding would've been a disaster. From dealing with my caterers, to getting our groomsmen to behave, our performances in order, our seating arrangements, our baarat, our photogs/video people, our vendors... Basically she did everything little thing to make my wedding such a beautiful, stress-free event for myself, my hubby and my family. When I first hired Bobby - I got so much heat from my in-laws and friends saying how it was unnecessary to have a coordinator, but I'm so glad I didn't listen to anyone and hired her because my wedding was a success because of her. I'm sure I had a million issues on my wedding and reception but I knew about none of them. She kept things on time and made sure everyone was entertained and had a blast. Honestly one of the BEST decisions I made ever! Thank you, Bobby & Satvir - you guys are THE BEST OF THE BEST OF THE BEST!

We were sold the minute we saw Satvir's decors she had on her website. We immediately made an appointment and we realized that her site was just the tip of an iceberg. She has really good taste with a very very good price. I was a little disappointed I met her late. Her prices are reasonable and direct to the point. I was just planning to meet her for 15 mins. to get a feel of how much will the decors cost, but boy I stayed there for almost a couple of hours as if I am speaking with a wedding coordinator for free. And that was just the consultation! She provided us with a lot of ideas for the wedding, gave us a centerpiece sample, and most importantly, she saved us a lot of money. I met her 3 more times and I sometimes felt guilty for taking too much of her time, when all I do was cut our expenses. I was not as organized as I should have but Satvir filled up the hole and helped me out. 1 week before the wedding, it came to our attention that some decors are not permitted. I communicated this to Satvir, and she took the initiative to deal the hall manager. I already prepared myself to let go of some decors, but to my surprise, Satvir and Lal was able to deliver without compromising our hall rental contract . The decors turned out awesome, my centerpieces looked great, and the whole ceremony and reception area had a classy feel. All this I had, minus the headache.

Its actually 4.5 stars! Satvir definitely delivers! She is to the point, practical and very reasonable. She set up our wedding mandap and did lighting, center pieces and couples table for the reception. It was hard to imagine how everything was going to look put together but we were really impressed on the day of. Why the 0.5 star off? She was a little hard to communicate with. There was many misunderstandings, wrong color schemes, wrong center table pieces..it def got frustrating. We didn't care too much about decoration so we didn't let it get too us too much. In the end I spent a couple hours with her the week of the wedding and made sure we were both on the same page. Once everything is correct on the contract you have nothing to worry about!

Without Satvir, I would not have been able to have a successful wedding weekend! In addition to handling all the beautiful decoration after understanding my needs and budget (and incorporating a custom carafe I wanted used for some centerpieces), she also connected me to most of the other vendors I used for our wedding. Her sister Bobby was my day of coordinator, and is amazingly efficient. She and her team made sure out big day was timely and smooth! Bobby can even help with reasonably priced pretty escort / place cards and programs for your event. Because of the help and support from SB Arts, I did not need a wedding planner. Satvir's decoration ideas, execution and communication with other vendors around decoration details (lighting, cake, hotel) went a long way, and I didn't have to worry about anything during our wedding weekend. If you are looking for a reliable, friendly, resourceful, honest, and competitively priced decorator for any of your events, SB Arts will not disappoint.

Planning my wedding in California, while I live in Michigan and with my mom working 24/7 was going to be a challenge, so we researched wedding planners, and came across Satvir from SB Arts. From start to finish, the wedding planning went smoothly! Of course there are stressful parts to planning any major event like a wedding, but Shalini (the wedding planner), was so amazing and helpful. She took care of the nitty gritty details and coordination that I didn't have time to deal with, such as decorations, coordinating vendors, and the small details (table numbers, seating chart, custom drinks, etc) that are usually a huge source of stress for any bride planning a wedding. Satvir did the decorations and everyone was so impressed by how everything looked! All we had to do was sit down and tell her our color scheme and the kind of decor we wanted, and she put together everything so wonderfully. Honestly, I cannot recommend Satvir and Shalini enough. My wedding weekend was amazing. We even had to do a last minute venue change for the Mehndi (literally 5 days before the event), and they made it happen without a hitch! If you need someone to take care of your wedding planning and significantly lower yours and your family's stress, go to SB Arts. :)

We hired SB Arts (decorator) and Bobby (wedding coordinator) for our wedding ceremony at Hakone Gardens in Saratoga as well as our reception the next day at Paradise Ballrooms in Fremont. It was great that they are both sisters and have worked together many times before, which made them a great pair to work with! Bobby: I still cannot imagine how we would have planned this wedding without her. And definitely cannot imagine how the actual events would have gone down had she not been there each step of the way. We met her about 3 times prior to our wedding, and each meeting was very productive and she gave us a good understanding of what all needed to be done. She walked through the entire events minute by minute. She was very realistic and honest with what aspects of our planning were possible and what weren't. She did her best to incorporate all our wishes. Bobby was very flexible and easy to work with - there were several times during the wedding planning process that things just seemed to be falling apart (our wedding venue cancelling 8 weeks before our wedding) or us realizing that we had forgotten something important - and she and Satvir were always there to help us and figure out a solution. She would immediately respond over text and would always have a solution to all our problems. During the day of the wedding/ceremony, she gave us food, kept us hydrated, made sure everything was going smoothly. Both events went perfectly! Highly recommend everyone looking for a coordinator to hire Bobby! SB Arts: We are very very happy with our choice as she made both the venues look gorgeous. The mandap and the seating arrangement for our ceremony was perfect. We were anticipating 200 guests in this tiny space, and she somehow made it work! Her work at Paradise Ballroom's was phenomenal as well, the lighting and the candles, the colors were on point. She was very aware of our budget and helped us stay within. She walked through both events with us and made sure all the necessities were taken care of. My husband and I were pretty clueless as to what needed to be done, and she helped us out tremendously. She is very professional and did the job well. I would highly recommend SB arts for your wedding. Thanks Satvir!!

Satvir did an amazing job with decorating for all my wedding events- mendhi, sangeet, and wedding. She did a great job of learning what I wanted and had a great vision on how to execute it. For the mendhi, she provided a decorated swing and it was a perfect backdrop for our pictures from the day. For the sangeet, she did an outstanding job transforming the courtyard of the San Mateo Marriott. She brought a decorated rickshaw that was a great hit at the event that everyone took photos with. She put together amazing food booths and decorated the tables with so much color. She also created a beautiful backdrop for the dance floor which looked great for all the performances. For the wedding day, she had decorated the gazebo very elegantly. She also had mason jars with flowers in them down the aisle. She transformed the ballroom we used for the reception so beautifully. She made an amazing backdrop for the stage and great floral centerpieces. We received a lot of compliments on how beautiful and colorful the wedding was and this was due to the great work done by SB Arts. I would highly recommend SB Arts for your wedding events decor.

Satvir did my brother's wedding this past week, I loved the decorations. Very nice, my brother thinks I overpaid but I really don't care, it was a beautiful turnout. Cake table was lovely. All the flower pieces were taken home by families, we only got 2 out of the 11 I think there were. Would definitely hire again.

We worked with Amazae from the moment we knew we wanted to get married (before we got engaged,…read moretechnically. Ha). Both of us are extremely busy re: our jobs and knew that we wouldn't be able to dedicate enough time to truly planning an event of this scale. If you're on the fence, go with Amazae. My husband, before we hired Amazae, was on the fence of whether or not we needed planning services. I told him that if we did not hire someone that there would be no wedding. By the time we had finished our venue search, he knew that I was totally right re: the amount of help you get by leveraging someone else's expertise. You do this once (hopefully) in your life. Amazae does this all the time. Amazae knew all the ins and outs of every venue that we could possibly think of in the Bay Area, Carmel, and Napa. They were able to tell us who was beer and wine only, who had a 10pm end time because of noise ordinances, and who required you to use certain caterers that were $x per head. This will save you SO much time and save you visits to random places that don't meet your requirements. Vendor sourcing - they are super good at this re: figuring out (or making you figure out what you like) who matches your style for every vendor, then finding one that fits in your budget. Most importantly, they will make sure everyone shows up (join any wedding FB group and read some horror stories). They will help you with all of the contracting and the collection of COIs, etc. Again, this would have been IMPOSSIBLE for myself and my now husband. We literally do not have the hours in the day to do this. This team is on top of everything - they will chase you down if they need to for answers for pieces of your event. They can make anything happen - from the weirdest requests to the most mundane. They are so professional, and they really make your wedding super personal. Amazae designed and executed a beautiful event from beginning to end that felt so authentic to us. Day of, they were there to take care of everything, and it was truly a flawless day. We could not asked for a better planner re: Crystal, Kaila, and the rest of the team. We put full trust in them re: the design of this event and the day of. Example: I honestly did not know what florals were going to be there, but they were so stunning. The strength of the Amazae team is in their ability to bring you and your personality into an event that is mostly structured a certain way. They also make your day as stress-free as possible. I cannot say enough positive things about this team and their ability to make your wedding great. If you're down to hand things off to someone else, I would say hand it off to them. It will be better than what you could have come up with yourself.

That's why we decided to hire an event planner for our daughter's wedding in January 2021. Even though it was a small backyard wedding, we wanted it to be memorable and elegant. We interviewed 3 different event planners, and got 3 rough quotes, all around the same ballpark. Amazae's quote, however, was the most detailed, breaking down a high & low range for each item (food, florals, rentals, photography, etc.) It was an easy choice to contract with them. Crystal came onsite for our first meeting, and I really didn't have a lot for her to go on. My daughter isn't the Pinterest type, so I just told Crystal the wedding colors and showed her pictures of the wedding gown and bridesmaid gowns. The rest of the planning was all done via zoom, emails, and a few phone calls. We worked mostly with Caitlin, who is an amazing planner. Each step along the way, she gave us several options to choose from. For example, she provided a list of 4 photographers, their quote for the day, their profile, their gallery, etc. Once all of our choices were made, she put together a design deck that gave us a preview of the entire wedding. It was more gorgeous than I envisioned. On the day of the wedding, Lisa came out to set everything up. She even picked up the florals and wedding cake to save us the delivery fees. It was a little hectic when I met her, and I probably spent 5 minutes with her showing her where everything was before we left for the church ceremony. And when we came back, she was driving off, leaving behind a magical transformation of yard. Everyone was stunned. The catering crew then took over and prepared a "Top Chef" level meal. And when they left, my kitchen was as clean as when they arrived. My husband commented, "Whatever we paid for this wedding, it was worth every penny." Haha. True. I debated writing this review, but I felt compelled to share our experience. This review is not to…read moreslander Queen Bridals in any way, but to offer honest feedback that may encourage some reflection. Like many couples, we approached our wedding with excitement. A friend referred us to Vicky, and we didn't think twice. In hindsight, perhaps we should have done more research, but we are easygoing people. We communicated our vision, gave Vicky creative freedom, and trusted her as a professional. We weren't difficult. We asked for something simple, elegant, and meaningful. Instead, we experienced stress, embarrassment, and disappointment. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Vicky voiced concerns that our venue, Koi Palace, was too small. We reassured her we had attended several beautiful weddings there ourselves, space doesn't seem to be an issue. While she eventually said she'd make it work, her lingering doubt was noticeable. On the day of the wedding, I arrived at the venue at 5:20 PM and found our guests waiting outside due to the venue not being ready. Inside, I observed Vicky and her team still working and did not wrap up until 6:00 PM, the scheduled start time of our reception. Later, Vicky insisted she had finished by 5:30 PM and had time to mingle with our vendors, but that version didn't align with what I witnessed or what our vendors shared. The most heartbreaking part came when my wife and I stood before the photo backdrop to take pictures with our guests. Instead of our correct monogram, the backdrop displayed the letters "V & A," despite my wife's name starting with a "J". Our guests noticed and pointed it out. We were stunned. To us, this wasn't a minor mistake, it was a glaring and deeply embarrassing moment. We ended up removing the initials ourselves. Even then, we didn't lash out. We waited, hoping Vicky might follow up to ask how the day went. She didn't. Two days later, I reached out and met with Vicky in person. I calmly asked how she thought the event went. She indicated everything went great and didn't recall any issues. When I showed her a photo of the incorrect initials, she looked at it without immediately recognizing the mistake. Only after I pointed it out did she acknowledged it and offered to Photoshop the images as a solution. That moment was disheartening. It showed a lack of understanding of what her role meant to us. This wasn't about a photo, it was about how we felt in a moment that can't be edited. It was about getting the basics right on a day that only happens once. After expressing our disappointment, we asked Vicky for a 30 percent refund. Not out of spite or anger, but because we truly felt the value of the service fell short of what was promised. The emotional weight of her error left an unsavory impact throughout our evening. We didn't demand the refund on the spot. I encouraged her to sleep on it and consider our perspective, to put herself in our shoes. She appreciated how non-confrontational we were and ultimately verbally agreed to the refund via Zelle. Three days went by. Nothing. I followed up with a message. No response. Eventually, Vicky replied and asked to speak. During our conversation, she reversed course and said she no longer felt the refund was warranted. She maintained the decor had been finished well before 6:00 PM and sent us a video of guests taking their seats at 6:01 PM, which only confirmed she or her team were still at the venue at that time. Technically, she completed the decor by the start time, which falls within the contract, and while we shared our plans for pre-reception desserts and snacks, we cannot fault her for that aspect. As for the wrong initials, to her credit, Vicky was apologetic to some degree and acknowledged the error, but indicated a 30 percent refund was unrealistic. I explained again this wasn't about a backdrop, it was about my wife being displayed by the wrong name, in front of everyone, on her wedding day. It was about the emotional toll and the lapse in attention to detail, especially when Vicky had worked almost exclusively with my wife during planning. How that mistake happened is still beyond me. Candidly, Vicky admitted to mixing up my wife's name with another bride. In the end, Vicky refunded 7.5 percent, stating since we removed the initials, it didn't technically ruin the wedding. No, it didn't ruin the wedding. But it undoubtedly affected how we felt. It cast a shadow over the night. It made us feel discounted, dismissed, and ultimately shorted of a service we were counting on. I believe Vicky put effort into her work. I believe she cares to a point. But her unwillingness to follow through on her word or genuinely consider the emotional impact of her mistake left us deeply disappointed. Mistakes happen, but how you respond to them matters just as much as the service you provide.

He definitely is more of a carefree guy but wanted to make the moment special for me and she did all the heavy lifting and cared so much about the overall experience for us, she added in extra details he wouldn't have even thought of and provided additional tips for him. I couldn't have been happier with my proposal and I'm so grateful Vicky was able to be there to help execute my fiancé's vision! Now onto the wedding ;)

For our first in-person meeting, we came prepared with slide decks with detailed inspirations on what we were hoping to execute. We appreciated Linnae's in-depth knowledge and her advice to help us stay within budget, while still staying true to overall aesthetic. On the day of the wedding, Jennifer and the rest of the team were so great to work with! There wasn't ever an uneasy feeling due to their constant communication with our coordinators. During the reveal, I couldn't help but to cry tears of joy because everything was SO BEAUTIFUL. What started out as just a vision and some inspo pics became something so beautiful that surpassed all of our expectations. We are so grateful for Linnae, Jennifer, and the rest of the team's hard work and we can't thank them enough!!! I recently found my wedding venue and on their preferred vendors list was Asiel. I immediately came…read moreacross this gorgeous picture of a dark, sultry setting with candles and wrought iron gates and was mesmerized. I see it on Pinterest often and had to reach out and see how much this beautiful setup could be. I expected expensive but hoped to be surprised. I was shocked. I only inquired about the main draw of the photos for me. The entry gate, the iron arch, and the aisle candles. Meg was superbly friendly and delivered an estimate covering what I had asked for. The estimate was completely disheartening. Since I'm sure there are many others who are curious how much this look costs, I will share what I was quoted. Entry gates when you walk in- $450 Iron arch in front of fireplace- $750 12 clusters of floating candles in cylinders- $540 if displayed in clusters. Otherwise $10 each individual like displayed in photo ($45 for each cluster) New/refresh candles for cylinders to use as table centerpiece ($72 for 12 new candles) Delivery- $495 Installation- $575 Transfer (from ceremony to reception) -$295 Pick-up $325 Plus tax. This comes out to roughly $4,000 and still doesn't include curtain, tall candle holding pieces, and flowers. They have exclusive florists as well (probably them I'm assuming) so who knows how much that would end up being. Beautiful, but not at all reasonable. My guess with flowers and the other candle holders and curtains puts this look in the 10k region. Too bad. I love this look so so much, but to charge $1,690 for delivery/install/pick-up is just crazy. Granted they are coming from San Jose... but still. Can I just set it up myself?? I'm very curious to see wedding photos of this look to see if a 10k 30 minute ceremony is worth it. Just hard for me to imagine because I haven't seen any photos of someone actually using this look yet. Hopefully someday someone can afford it and post online. My rating is three stars because it's a fair enough company. Their philosophy states that the price tag reflects the "value" of their services that have been around for 20 years. Meg was also kind and took the time to build me an estimate which was much appreciated. The main downfall of this company is that I can't afford it. If you can, I'd recommend giving them a shot. If their professional photos reflect their actual work I'd say they are worth it. Till then... I'm still looking.

Otis was kind with great attention to detail from the start. Ultimately, we decided with the glam package and our contract was very clear to understand with cost breakdown for removal of specific services / add-ons. I updated it many times with Jessica, our planner, as we made changes throughout the months, and she was always so patient and clear. Our MC Otis did a wonderful job with maintaining flow of the program. Otis was also working as DJ for a good portion of the evening, so props to him! We had closer to an hour compared to 1.5 hours of open dancing because we were behind schedule, but everybody was on the dance floor and he kept the party going seamlessly. Weddings are hectic and there are so many moving parts; we did get behind schedule but we were still able to do everything we wanted to do. Our photo & video services were set to end, but Otis was very professional in discussing with us if we wanted to extend our video services, communicative on additional cost, at the moment. Our photographer, Ben, along with the team Stanford and videographer, Christina, were so fun to work with. Ben was great at providing direction, which is especially helpful since we were not used to posing. I have not received photo & video yet as it has only been a week, but from an experience standpoint, they were attentive to detail, communicative, and glided effortlessly through the event. My makeup artist, Vivi, is the sweetest person. She was super attentive to detail and my particular skin type. I was worried about makeup because I don't wear heavy makeup often. I ended up paying for a make-up trial, and I was so happy working with Vivi that I had no worries for the wedding day. We also added-on make up for our mothers, which Vivi did the morning of. The reception decor turned out so pretty! Everything was set-up as scheduled. I was really happy with the welcome backdrop and name sign. It was also great to take pictures with guests with the backdrop since we had time during cocktail hour. We asked TDE to incorporate a large screen as the backdrop of our sweetheart table, so we found an example from a previous wedding they did, and it turned out exactly as expected. We added the photo-booth, which was so popular with the guests! There were so many cool props and our guests were having tons of fun with it. I also sent TDE a custom drawing that I wanted for the photo strips- and it turned out just like I imagined. We chose Grand Dynasty as our reception venue, and TDE communicated set-up details with our restaurant event manager, Esmond, in the days leading up to the event. I highly recommend TDE and the team that we worked with! Thank you for making it an unforgettable experience.
