They setup the mandap for our outdoor wedding ceremony on a hill top, and we absolutely loved it. They re-created exactly what we had in mind in terms of the mandap decor and delivered beautifully. Amazing is not enough to describe Sandeep's work quality and vision! I'll put up photos soon but he turned our venue into the the exact vision we wanted for my sister's reception! Along the planning process he was always so easy to reach and responsive. We're so lucky to have met him and his wife! We didn't get our mandap from Avasar, but we did rent the chairs for the mandap, as well as all that goes with that. Sandeep was so accommodating and easy to work with. At first, we thought we wouldn't be able to get the chairs as another couple had requested them, but Sandeep told us not to worry and made sure he had a set for us. Sandeep and his team did a great job with our mandap! They were punctual and professional, and it looked absolutely stunning. We met Sandeep through a referral, and on the day that we went to meet him in his office, we got delayed and arrived 30 minutes late. Despite that, he was extremely patient with us, explaining the various components of the mandap and showing us a variety of different colors. When the wedding date arrived, he and his team showed up on time and put up an absolutely stunning mandap. We were extremely pleased. My wife and I hired Avasar Mandap/ Sandeep for our daughter's wedding. The positives: His delivery and quality was great. The mandap, drapery and floral decorations were excellent. He also supplied chiavari chairs for the reception and they were all of very high quality. I think his pricing was also quite reasonable. Perhaps, some of the items may have been on the high side, but his overall pricing was good. The not-so-good: Early on, he didn't seem very responsive to emails and at times he got some details mixed up. The mandap itself was beautiful and he did an excellent job draping. Like other reviews, I felt he upcharged more than other vendors did - in our case for the travel time (~$800 plus a hotel room). At first, I called and I thought wow "what a decent price" Mandap $750 starting until you walk in and sit down with him then he tells u about "backdrop costs $150", "Arch cost $100, aisle decor cost,this cost etc, that cost etc..everything is nickled and dimed by the time u add up all the costs it's easily over $2K for a simple Sanketa mandap. Please save ur time and money and try to find someone who gives u an upfront pricing and an all inclusive package. He is extremely pricey, not to mention rude and feels dishonest to me. Sandeep did a great job of creating exactly what I wanted. He was very responsive and flexible with us. However, I did feel like i overpaid by about 20%, hence the four stars. I was worried that Sandeep wouldn't be able to deliver on my custom design, as he didn't have any prior examples that were similar, but he actually delivered a complicated mandap custom fabric design very well. I was impressed. They were on time and made everything look top notch. I would highly recommend him for Christian and Indian ceremonies. We contracted with Sandeep at Avasar Mandap to do the decorations for my daughter's grad party at My Royal Palace in Milpitas. He did a great job across the board. The backdrop, lighting, seat covers and centerpieces were all literally perfect and he was always available whenever we had questions or changes. We recently got married in May 2013. We shopped around quite a bit and then we decided to go ahead with Avasar Mandap. They have the most reasonable price in the area for all the wedding related things whether it is Mandap or decoration. The owner Sandeep has always been just a call away if we need anything or if we need to change anything. When we entered in the marriage hall, it was decorated amazingly well. It looked like fairy tale decorations. Mandap was so beautiful that I still get praises from my guests about decorations and mandap. The person Bharati doesn't know how to make customers happy. We planned to have her deliver Indian style wedding chairs for bride and groom along with her decorative services. Until we met her she seemed to be ok but after meeting with her we came to know that she was very rude and blunt to the point of being offensive in making arrangements. She would talk to customers as if she is obliging them with her services when she is doing a mere delivery job and there are tons of players out there doing the same thing. Moreover this person couldn't wait for 20 more minutes from the time of delivery to get the payment. On the morning of the wedding I asked her if she could receive payment just after 20 mins of her scheduled delivery on the site. She refused blatantly. So much for good customer service in today's world. Given a choice I would go with some other vendor. This vendor is simply very difficult to work with and gives hard time without accomodating a bit even though she claims the following: "Trust our expertise and have enjoyable, memorable and stress free wedding." But reality is far from that statement. I would never recommend this vendor for your Indian style wedding. read more
