RUN! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - they lack integrity, customer service and credibility. In early February 2026, our residence sustained a fire. The fire was not caused by the pellet stove. Due to fire damage, the room containing the pellet stove required complete demolition. The referenced company was contracted to uninstall the pellet stove prior to remediation. The stove was removed and placed in our garage the day before Servpro began demolition of the affected room. The room was sealed off following removal. There is a dispute regarding the handling of the stove components at the time of removal: Company's position: The company maintains that all components required for reinstallation were packaged together and secured to the back of the stove when it was placed in our garage. Homeowner's position: The stove and a large pipe were placed in the garage beneath the electrical panel, against the wall, with no components attached to the back of the stove. We recall observing additional stove components remaining in the room after removal and contacted the company to inquire whether those items were necessary. We were advised that if any components remained in the room and were removed during demolition, they would need to be replaced and that this would be addressed at the time of reinstallation. Servpro subsequently gutted the room, and all repairs were completed. Prior to scheduling reinstallation, my husband visited the company to purchase paint so that the stove could be refinished. We then contacted the company to schedule reinstallation. Upon arrival, the installer stated that required components were missing and asserted that all parts had been packaged and left in the garage. The installer further alleged that the parts may have been misplaced by us when the stove was removed from the garage for painting. Numerous communications followed between us and the company, including conversations involving our contractor. Initially, we were instructed to independently locate and purchase the missing components and then contact the company to proceed with reinstallation. At that time, we were also issued an additional invoice in the amount of $2,200 for reinstallation services. Due to the cost involved and uncertainty regarding which components were required, we requested confirmation of the necessary parts prior to purchase. Over the course of approximately three months, we repeatedly attempted to obtain verification. Eventually, a company representative confirmed that the parts we intended to purchase were incorrect and provided a corrected list of required components. We were informed that the matter would be discussed with the owner to arrange installation. After receiving no further response, I left a message with the company requesting follow-up. The following day, the owner contacted me and stated that the company was going out of business and would not be able to perform the installation. On that same day, a technician emailed the confirmed list of required parts. I asked whether the company would complete the installation once the parts were obtained. Subsequently, I received an email from the receptionist stating that the owner had indicated the company would not install parts that were not original components. As a result, the pellet stove remains uninstalled due to unresolved disputes regarding missing components and the company's refusal to complete the work. This matter has caused additional delay, expense, and disruption following a significant fire-related loss. read more

Update: have to wonder if the woman I talked to cancelled someone else's appointment. On my last call when I cancelled their third appointment, she "repeated" an address which wasn't remotely close to my address. Of course I corrected her, but at that point it was a pathetic series of error after error by this company. Later that day and hours after I had cancelled that third appointment, I received a text announcing that I have a chimney cleaning scheduled on that third date! This place shouldn't be in business. RUN, don't walk, to a more professional, customer-oriented company. After purchasing a new home in April, we had Valley Chimney Sweep out to inspect our chimney and quote us for repointing. We signed off on the repointing quote and provided a 50% ($1,500+) deposit on May 5. We were given an appointment over six months later on November 7. In October, we started receiving appt. reminder emails. On November 6 (the night before the job), at 8:42p, I received an email from Jaclyn stating that their mason was behind schedule and that our job would have to be rescheduled. I explained that reaching out the night before our job (that had been scheduled for six months) was unprofessional and that it sounded like they were aware they had been behind schedule to which she responded that she had been aware. She also noted that our job was a smaller one (maybe not enough $ for them to prioritize us/honor their commitment?). She rescheduled our job for 11/25 or 11/26 (today). No call no show yesterday. Today, I received a call at 9:41a from a mason who "wasn't sure if someone contacted me or where we stand" and informed me that they are behind and our job will likely have to be pushed until the spring. I explained that we had already been rescheduled to today and that at this point, we want our money back. He said he'll let the office know. After an hour, I reached out to the office having not heard from them and was told they didn't have an answer for me yet. I explained I wasn't waiting for an answer and wanted my money back after their second re-schedule/no-show. I was informed they had to talk to the owner and would "do their best" to get me a timely response. Our plan was to run our fire this year and get a wood-burning insert for next season which we had already priced out through them. Today I used Valley Chimney sweep for the first time. My husband wanted me to call a different local company, but being a Yelper, I came here to find what I need. The company hubby wanted to use had too many negative reviews and because of it I chose to go with Valley based on their rating. I kept forgetting to call during business hours for an appointment, so I called after hours and left a message. The gentleman in scheduling that called me back was friendly. Day before the service the company called to confirm our appointment and accommodated me with an earlier time. Yey! The Sweeper/technician arrived on time as promised. I wish I got his name because he was SO PROFESSIONAL, friendly and polite about my obnoxious dogs that wanted to eat him. We greeted each other with a good morning and a smile, than I showed him to the family room. He took extra care in moving things as far back as possible, and covering what he could to protect it. The job took about 30+ minutes. When he was done you wouldn't know he was here, he even cleaned up some of the ashes we had from one previous fire. Disappointed with the service technician that conducted our chimney sweep on our new-to-us home, and even more disappointed with the follow up when calling the office to schedule the removal of an existing wood stove. When asked about the pellet stove insert that came with the house the tech said he wasn't familiar with them. Given that, we didn't have a lot of confidence in his 'inspection report'. We also asked that he tell us what we needed to do to have a separate existing wood stove removed and converted to a wood burning fireplace. He said we were missing a damper and would need to call the office because that's a different crew. I called the office, left a detailed message a week ago and no one called me back. I called again today and was really surprised at the lack of interest in helping us. The woman I spoke with to book the appointment made it feel like it was an imposition on her time. She asked questions about the stove and since we are new homeowners from out of state, we are not on site and I don't know much about it. She quoted $500 to remove the stove and liner, which seems totally reasonable (to be honest, we are not price sensitive at all - we just want this done!) but she wasn't sure if it would take one or two trips to fix the damper. I asked her if there was a way I could measure the chimney box to tell her the size of the damper and she unhelpfully told me, I don't know. I also told her that the tech didn't clean out the wood stove so it was full of ashes. She said they don't do that as part of the chimney cleaning. We told the tech that cleaned the chimney liner attached to the wood stove, that our intent was to have the stove removed. Turns out after speaking her, they remove the liner when they remove the stove. So to sum it up, we paid for a liner to be cleaned that is going to be removed. And were left with a wood stove full of ashes for us to deal with. And didn't get a good feeling that they were interested in even doing the job to convert it back to a wood burning fireplace. Given the direction things were headed during our conversation, I decided not to book an appointment to have them remove the wood stove and put the fireplace back to a wood burning fireplace. So, to sum it up, I won't be using Valley Fireplace again. It's too bad because they came recommended by our realtor and I was hoping to support a local, family owned business, but it seemed to me that they weren't interested in working with us. read more

As a first time customer I requested a chimney cleaning and inspection for a duplex with an oil furnace. I advised the company that one of the chimneys had a pellet stove liner and wanted it to be known as to not damage it. The tech arrived, I said there are two units with a shared furnace so 3 to inspect and clean. He told me he had to clean my pellet stove in order to clean the chimney. I allowed. As I have never used this vendor and have a different company for pellet stove cleaning. All be said the stove was cleaned the tech shined a flash light up one chimney and never checked the furnace flue. Split the service call in two 178/63 for a stove chimney flue cleaning. Was not comfortable or satisfied with that call. I asked the tech to see that the stove worked he watched auger feed but did not see it light and said was fine. IT WAS NOT. The stove was not installed properly and not working. I called my original stove cleaning company. Paid a service call to them and complained to this company about remaining fee. A few bucks 63 $ when I had incurred a 158$ service call with my other company. This company is demanding the remaining 63 $ Its not the money its the principle. The wrong job was scheduled, the wrong job was done, IT was done wrong and this owner whomever he is ( never called himself after I have called and emailed 4 times) has demanded his 63 bucks. He will receive it but in my thoughts this is bad business for a potential local customer. Disappointed dissatisfied and quite frankly disgusted. They got 178$ but insist on the balance for a botch job. read more

Had an appointment today for 9-10 to clean a chimney lined for a pellet stove. But showed up without the equipment to clean a lined chimney. That equipment was on another truck. When we called to ask how soon the correct truck could get out here we were told several things. The person who scheduled us must be in training, the truck with correct equipment is in Burlington right now broken down and expects to be up and running after 10:30. However he could not get to us today due to his other stops. The earliest would be 4/15 at 3. I asked for next available Monday morning and was told mid May as workers were going to class to get licensed. I did not get an apology from this girl. I scheduled an appointment to have my chimney cleaned and inspection month and half before appointment. They sent a message week before to confirm so I did. A day before appointment they sent another message reminding me of my appointment for 12:30. Next day came was home all morning and 12:30 came and went nobody here, they said + or - 30 minute. When it came soon 1:30 and still no show I texted the phone number from confirmation so I called the store. Asked about my appointment and they said they would get back to me. So they did and said that the technician was out for day and that they called all his appointments and they they rescheduled everyon. Well I guess I was one they forgot to call. So they called me on Monday and said it would be another month before the could book an appointment for me but would have to be on cancellation notic. Would've thought that they would have said we will be out this week to take care of yoI. But guess they don't do business that way for people that already booked in advance and had a no sh appointmen. Would not recommend to anyone if this is way of conducting busines. Do not use this company. They are unprofessional and shouldn't be in business. They say they have been in business for 40 years, but it must be because no one else does this work in this area. I had a confirmed email appointment and they didn't show up. I called and they said that there was no appointment even though I had received a confirmation via email. The staff at the office said that I was at fault and that there was no appointment. What a joke. Whomever owns this company should be ashamed that they think there company is highly rated. Had the entire chimney torn down and rebuilt due to extensive spalling of the original bricks, some of which were 3/4 missing and in many cases on the 2 side slopes bricks were no longer attached to anything. Not only did they have the best price available for the project, but a full length chimney up the entire side of the house was torn down and replaced in about 10 days. Tony (the mason) showed me the original bricks and why they were not proper to use in the first place. So a chimney that stands about 24 feet was completed in a relatively short period of time and will most likely stand for a good 50-100 years with proper care. Property was cleaned up after the job was completed and all unusable material was taken away. My first major decision on behalf of the Property Trust has been a success thanks to Valley Chimney Sweeps. Mark, Sherry and Tony were great to deal with. read more

We just got our chimney swept by Valley Chimney Sweep today and they did an excellent job! We have a very large chimney with 3 flues. They inspected all the flues and cleaned them. They also cleaned our wood stove as well. They were very professional, honest, and very clean. It took them about an hour to do all of that and the price was very reasonable. I was referred to Valley Stove by a friend after he had a Harman wood stove installed. I also bought a Harman through Valley Stove after shopping around and getting the best price through them. I had Paul come out with his assistant where they installed my wood insert. They both were professional and quick with the install. I had problems with a defective blower where both Jay and Paul worked to fix the problem quickly. Harman ultimately replaced my stove through warranty and Paul again came out took away my problematic stove. The replacement is perfect with no issues to date.
