Had our chimney rebuilt by this company and was told this will last a lifetime.. Within a short period of time the bricks were cracking, falling off and large cracks in the cement they used.. They did come back at times to repair but never finished the repair jobs.. Was always put on back burner until I called.. These guys are hacks. They installed a liner with 3 splices pieces leftover from other jobs and claimed that is how they come for a 20 foot run. They cut the thimble too short because they were too lazy to use a level and were going to just hack it until I forced them to add a piece. There price was 3 times the cost of real materials. We had a different company clean our fireplace and inspect the chimney a few months ago. They told us we would need a new liner and it would cost nearly $4k. I called Brian's Chimney Service to get a second opinion after a friend referred them. I spoke with Brian's son on Friday. He was incredibly kind and helpful. He scheduled an appointment for Brian to come inspect the chimney today. Brian arrived on time, inspected the chimney and told us it did not need a new liner. He said he would have no hesitations burning a fire if this were his home with his family. Brian also opened the flue and tested air flow. His service was incredible and his visit ended up saving us $4k. I am so thankful and will only use Brian's Chimney Service going forward. read more

Brian stopped out to clean the chimney in the home we just purchased. Upon inspection, he could see that there were no problems and the chimney didn't need cleaning. He inspected everything and said we were good to go! Didn't try and charge me for unneeded work. In fact, upon hearing we were new to the area, he even passed along a list of local contractors and servicemen for future reference! Highly recommend this man and his company! read more

I called Brian, I have a Chimney that I have never used since I bought the house. He was very polite and shared his knowledge, I have never used a Chimney before, and still have not used it. He inspected and cleaned it. For the second chimney, the furnace uses, he inspected and said that was good. He seems honest, I had not used the chimney yet. read more

When someone takes the time to log into google to write a review, it's either one of two scenarios: incredible service or terrible. This is the later. I was referred to Brian by a trusted friend. Called, set up a time for an estimate, and cleared my Saturday to accommodate their schedule. Saturday came and went. No call, no show. I leave three voice messages from Saturday into the next week. Reach out to my friend and tell him that unfortunately, Brian no showed me. I get another referral, but wanting to make this work for my friend's sake, I give Brian one more call. They pick up, apologize for the no show and unreturned calls. They tell me there was a family emergency. I completely understand, I tell them I know these things happen. We schedule another estimate. Guess what happens? No call, no show. Now, I'm aware that emergencies happen when they happen...but what do you think the odds are? I've now wasted a Saturday afternoon and cleared another workday schedule just to be no-call no-showed twice. A simple courtesy phone call would have been all I needed. Could've avoided this review. Instead, I am now going out of my way to post this review here and on yelp. Fingers crossed there wasn't actually another emergency, because I honestly feel bad. Just, for this to happen twice with no courtesy heads up call is just maddeningly inconsiderate and unprofessional. read more

DO NOT HIRE EVER! I used this company to put in a new chimney liner at the same time I was getting a new furnace in 2021. Upon inspection/service of the new furnace this past week - it did not pass. I was shocked as everything was brand new! I was advised to get the chimney checked out first before they looked to the furnace as the problem. So I called Brian's - since they installed it - and never heard back. I got another chimney company to come out and they were shocked at what they found. Completely wrong type of liner had been installed, it was a used liner not a new one, they did not run it to the bottom on either end and instead just used an OPEN piece of sheet metal at the furnace pipe entrance and cemented the sides of it to the foundation wall. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!??? No wonder smoke was coming back through the furnace pipe. He left his rope in the liner and the top part of the liner was halfway closed off, and had barbed wire all over it and was twisted like it was just shoved in there without the correct angles and did not even go all the way down on the outside. There was no insulation around it along the bricks that are outside of the home to keep the winter cold out of that area and keep the masonery off it. Everything had to be torn out and then all new had to be installed that cost thousands to fix. So Brian's Chimney Service completely ripped me off and they are completely inept! No wonder I never got a call back. And thank God I have an oil tank and not gas or would have been subject to carbon monoxide poisoning since would not have smelled it. If it wasn't such a pain in the butt to sue them, I definitely would sue. This company put my family is a lot of danger. Again, DO NOT HIRE. P.S. I gave 1 star because they showed up for the job so they could I guess "honestly" rip me off. read more

Brian's Chimeny Service - Initially discussed the scope of work with Brian Sr. , who was knolwedgable and experienced. The work was performed by his 2 sons and a friend.. Brian Sr never came back to the house. Brian Sr discussed the whole procedure of what was to be completed and we clearly discussed the silicone bead between the chimney and the house. I have been chasing Brian Jr for 2 months to come finish the work. On one of our initial conversations, he stated he was coming on a weekend in June and I personally prepared the area by removing the old caulk material further exposing the gap between the house and the chimney. Over a month now of conversations, that he was coming the next weekend - only to never show!! Find another chimney company. Warning do not pay them in full until job is complete. read more

He was a great communicator ahead of time, confirmed the work to be done and the time of arrival. On the day the service was to take place he was prompt, re-confirmed the work to be done and the time it would take, and was extremely clean. I would definitely use Brian again. read more

My experience with Brian's Chimney Service spans about 7-8 years -- it's been a mixed bag, but I'm happy with the final outcome, so "all's well that ends well". What happened is that years ago, my neighbor was having a chimney cap installed by Brian's Chimney, and that seemed like a good idea, so I went over and asked the guys if they could do ours too (our fireplace is sealed off/non-working, but rain would occasionally drip through). They installed a cap (which they had with them on the truck) the same day at a reasonable price, and I was very pleased. Everything was fine until last December (2013), when a couple of squirrels, who I'm pretty sure were mating in the chimney by the sound of it, chewed their way through the fireplace barrier and popped into the living room. If you've ever tried capturing hormonal squirrels in your home with a laundry basket, with 2 dogs and 2 kids in hot pursuit, you know it's not as much fun as it sounds! ;) By some miracle we got them out with no harm done to anyone (2- or 4-legged), and managed a quick "fix" of the fireplace barrier by filling the cavity with steel wool, peppermint oil and "Great Stuff" foam. Happily, the squirrels did not return, and the chimney sort of fell off my radar until this October when I realized we'd better get it taken care of before the start of squirrel mating season. I had no memory of who had put the cap on originally, but my neighbor tracked down her Brian's Chimney receipt and I called them. Jeffrey took my call, and I explained my situation. I was afraid he'd tell me it wasn't their problem because it was so long ago, and I didn't have my receipt, but he said he'd discuss it with his brother and get back to me. After a couple rounds of phone tag, Jeffrey called to say someone would be out the next day to look at it. Sure enough, Brian Jr. came the next afternoon, went up to examine it, and said that there was a gap between the cap and the [I forget what the top of the chimney's called] big enough for the squirrels to squeeze through. He fixed it on the spot by installing some additional metal pieces to act as a squirrel-proof barrier. Brian apologized, saying that it never should have been left the way it was, and noting that the worker who installed it originally wasn't with the company any longer. He didn't charge me anything (I wouldn't expect to have to pay to fix something that wasn't properly installed), so that was great. I feel confident that the issue was taken care of, and that we won't be troubled with any more squirrels in the living room. It would have been great not to have the problem in the first place, but sometimes a business really shows its true colors when something goes wrong, as it did in this case. I thought Brian's Chimney (the owner's sons, Jeffrey and Brian Jr. in particular) handled the situation with a lot of integrity -- I think many companies would say "Too bad --that was so long ago it's no longer warrantied, and you can't even prove we were the ones who installed it anyway". But they were honest, took responsibility and fixed it, and I'd recommend them even more highly now than before I knew there was a problem. Thanks! :) read more

Brian's Chimney Service was subcontracted by Glasco Heating & Air Conditioning to install a chimney liner prior to Glasco installing a new furnace on October 2019. Brian and his sons were on time, professional and did a good job with installing the liner. I have no issues till this day with the chimney liner. read more

I noticed some brick veneers on the ground next to my chimney. The prior owner had had the chimney crowned and repointed back in 2003 by Brian's Chimney Service so I called them for an estimate. Brian arrived the next day and gave me an estimate - he said he'd do the work and only charge me the labor cost even though the original work was 17 years old and done for the prior homeowner. The estimate was confirmed and sent to me via email and the work was scheduled for the following saturday. Done in a couple of hours and very well done. I had a report from another provider who billed themselves as the "World's Best Chimney Sweep" after they had charged my tenant $380 to clean the fireplace flue that it was unsafe to continue to use the furnace because it was so stopped up with debris, flue tiles, etc. So on their own initiative, they turned off the furnace, this in the beginning of February mind you, telling my terrified tenant that it was simply too unsafe to continue to use the furnace. Well, the landlord, (i.e. me) didn't think this was right that someone would just shut off your furnace in the middle of the heating season so I, fortunately, reached out to Brian, the Owner and Chimney Specialist at Brian's Chimney Service & Air Duct Cleaning, LLC. Brian came over and provided me with a free inspection and then provided both me and my tenant with a letter that said, "After my complete inspection of the chimney and the flue tiles; I found the flue tiles are in excellent condition and no new liner is needed. The chimney flues are both clean also." A lot of emotional energy was dissipated after Brian's professional and complete inspection. Brian did not charge me for this visit. He did say that the "World's Best" had not done a very good job on the fireplace that he had cleaned. He recommended the next time we need cleaning to call him. We contracted Brian's Chimney Service to inspect the chimney on a house that we were purchasing. He came back saying that all it needed was a cleaning and some exterior masonry work. We contacted another company to clean the chimney and they immediately noticed multiple major safety issues; cracked flue tiles, flaking tiles, and gaps between the flue tiles. All of these issues were visible to the naked eye when shown to us be the new service. There is no reason that he should have missed this according to the second company. This was a major safety hazard that will now cost thousands to repair. Brian's service should have pointed out and somehow missed it all. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

My husband called Brians Chimney service and left a message for him to call. 2 days later, no response. He left another message, no response. I called on 4th day and let phone ring several times. He finally picked up and said he would call in a couple days to schedule a time. Now, 4 days after I spoke with him, still no call. Don't waste your time with this company. read more

Brian is definitely the guy to call for your chimney or fireplace needs. He just left my home and it didn't cost me anything. I asked if he wanted anything for todays service and he declined. He inspected my fireplace and told me i could fix it myself if i wanted. He showed me exactly what needed to be done and how to do it and was extremely helpful. He could have easily written up an estimate and done the work but he didn't. His honesty and professionalism were above any expectations and for that reason i will call him for any cleaning or repair work that comes up in the future.
