I called Taylor Energy because my oil furnace wasn't working. I spoke with Paul who sounded annoyed that I called. He asked me a few questions that I answered. Even though I told him our oil tank was full, he told me to go check it. I'm on crutches so I said I'll call him back because it may take me a bit. Well, Paul forgot that he was supposed to hang up the phone. I immediately heard him talking so I didn't hang up. I thought he was still talking to me. I heard him telling people in the office, "what a whack job that lady was. Yeah she's calling me back but she didn't know if she had oil in the tank, where she gets her oil from, complete whack job. I swear these people are so stupid." I did tell him I had oil and who provides it. I can only imagine what he tries to get away with, with customers unknowingly trusting a person who feels that way about his clients. read more

I called for a second opinion asking for help with my gas fireplace. Paul got back to me when he said he would, and sent Rich out to take a look at our system. I cannot say enough about how professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and kind Rich was. He built trust immediately by giving us lots of solutions and options. He listens well and explains things in a way that people who aren't in the business (like me!) can understand. I can't recommend Taylor Energy enough. read more

I dont normally write reviews but this was the most horrible service I have ever received from any company, ever, in my lifetime, Im just shocked with how many chances I gave them. Our relationship only lasted 2 months. I had purchased a new furnace for about $10k, it took them 3 tries to get it working correctly, each time leaving parts of the house in the cold after they left. Each time they came back to do a repair, I had to take time off from work to let them try again... Finally they got it working though ... So afterwards, I had them do the oil refills on automatic refill. Problems started off after the first refill and I could never get a formal receipt from them (just a paper stub) which I could let slide 1st time as I wanted to get a relationship with them.. Things turned ugly when I checked my oil tank a month or 2 month later and it was almost out of oil in subzero temperatures. It turns out they came a second time and never even left a paper receipt nevermind a formal bill. There was never a notice about a late payment. Am I supposed to have ESP to pay bills? I always pay my bills within a few days of them coming In. For this house, it could have been fatal if we ran out of heat due to the inhabitants. I am livid that this could have turned out this way by making the mistake of underestimating how bad some companies are. read more

We've always had great service with Taylor when ordering a minimum 100 gallons for our oil tank in our small home, but last night is why very happy I have Taylor Energy. I was awake at 1:45 and heard my furnace turn off after a short cycle and I knew something was wrong and I tried a restart and nothing. I contacted their emergency number and got the operator who said a tech on call would contact me and within 5 minutes, he did call and we tried one thing and it didn't work so he came out to the house and found the burner motor had died and he had another one in the truck and installed it probably within a half hour and the repair was done and happily we had heat again. This is a true testament to a professional company. My next door neighbor, she' 80 years old and was without heat for 2 days, 2 weeks ago and that's because she was a customer of a so-called discount oil company that maybe a few pennies cheaper for oil but you pay for that in lack of professional service and response. I'd recommend Taylor Energy to anyone who wants peace of mind when it comes to service and quick response to deliveries and emergencies. read more

I purchased a new furnace from taylor in December of 2023. 2 years later it stopped working and upon inspection I noticed one of the valves they installed was leaking and it dripped on a control box which shorted it out. When their tech arrived he confirmed that was the issue. He said they had a 5 year warranty. Taylor then sent me a bill for $600 parts and labor. When I emailed to dispute I offered to pay for the techs time but that the part should be on taylor. They refused. A manager said my warranty was void because I didn't pay them (more) to have a yearly inspection. He equated it to buying a car, except cars usually tell you when service is needed and the dealership will send postcards and emails reminding of service schedule. I guess an $11k purchase does not get that from taylor. ​​Not to mention the town inspector told me the permit isn't closed because taylor didn't respond to the outstanding issues he found. Had an awful experience with this company. If you have a Google Nest or any smart thermostat go elsewhere, their head tech Steve and crew have no idea how they work nor do they care to learn. We had a wiring issue with no power to the thermostat and other malfunctions. They sent out one tech, couldnt find the problem after 2 hours. Then they sent out their service manager Steve and Ryan, 2 hours of diagnosis and they suggested a c wire to help power the thermostat. I was questioning their diagnosis since it wasn't making sense based on what I know about my system, but trusted them against my better judgement as Steve assured me this would fix the problem. They voiced their displeasure working on smart thermostats the entire time(isn't that a big thing in their industry? I'm a bad customer because I have one of those evil smart thermostats? I digress...) After hours of diagnosis and q&a with the techs about my system and nest thermostat, I was told by Taylor energy that I needed a common wire and one of my nest thermostats was bad. Fine. Do what you have to do, I'll deal with Google. Two techs came out the following week and installed the c wire, the nest still read no power after they left and the heat turned on without the thermostat calling. I called back immediately and was told they'd come back out. They came right back and shut off the system since it was uncontrollably heating one of my zones. I was then told I probably have a bad heating zone valve body and they could fix that for me, it was obvious at this point the techs didn't really know what the issue was and were simply guessing (expensive guessing). They installed the c wire they said would fix my problem but instead I was back to square 1! After 4 trips out! Very frustrated and fed up, I called a different company to take a look. Fixed within 3 hours! At a cheaper price! Nothing was wrong with my nest thermostats or the zone valve, instead it was a wiring issue. I'll update if anything changes but one week later and no issues! What a night and day difference in companies. When I received the taylor invoice I was charged for the c wire installation with trip fees and diagnostic fees added on, obviously I disputed that, and heres the kicker...the owner Catherine calls me and proceeds to argue with me about paying for something that wasn't even done correctly, closes my account because "they don't like dealing with rude people like me" and then asks again for me to pay! We settled on a lower amount which we paid just to be done with them. I was totally floored by the top to bottom dishonesty and incompentence I experienced when dealing with this company. I highly recommend going elsewhere for your hvac needs. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!! Taylor Energy CT sues their customers over a $200 bill that you are currently paying off and they'll also slap a $2000 fee on top of your $200 bill. I paid $300 of a $500 bill and stated I would pay the remaining balance in the coming weeks but Taylor Energy came with no prior notice and took the tanks with gas still left in the tanks (and wants me to pay the full fillup cost even though I didnt even get to use the full amount of the gas) then sends me a letter that I need to pay a ridiculous $2000 fee when I only had $200 left to pay off so i called their office and spoke to Lisa and Ashley and they stated the excessive fees cannot be removed and that they'll take me (a paying customer!) to small claims court. ALSO when Taylor Energy techs took back the tanks and disconnected our gas lines, our heating system has been making loud noises NONSTOP and sounds extremely dangerous!!! (see video) CT consumer protection agency needs to investigate and come down with hard regulations because it seems this business can slap on excessive $2000 fees to customers they dont like. Moved into a new house. Had the old oil company service the furnace, 2 months later when I go to turn it on for the first time, it wont stay running. Call that company and they won't even come unless I put a card on file. They didn't care that no one touched it or used it since their service. Went on Facebook complaining, Catherine saw my post, had someone over there 7:00 that night and got me going even though we we're their customers yet! Then they took care of us on a bunch of upgrades we wanted to do anyway, even talking us out of some more expensive ideas we had because they weren't needed. Most places wouldn't do that! If there is ever a problem, Catherine as the CEO is always available to assure your satisfaction. All the work from cleaning burners, to new installs, oil tanks and oil delivery has been outstanding. Taylor Energy includes travel time in the hourly service charge. They make you jump through hoops if you have questions with the bill. They will also give you five different explanations if you have questions and they have gone through three different management changes in the past year. Do not use Taylor Energy!!!! read more

This company is great as far as service! I had run out of oil (I know my fault). I called and they came right over with 5 gallons of diesel (it wasn't during business hours), restarted my furnace and then came 1st thing in the morning to fill the rest of the order. We also have them service our furnaces and are very prompt and quick with the service for all 3 properties. I Highly recommend this local, customer service friendly company. I did read the other review hence why I wanted to do a review. The company is now under one ownership and the service is impeccable, I have never had an issue. read more

I have been a customer of Taylor Energy for 7 years now and I cannot picture another company taking care of me like they do. Their Technicians are always polite and do a great job on the cleaning / service of my boiler. Its nice to call an office and have a friendly voice on the other end and not a recording asking you to press 1 to continue. I have recommended Taylors to alot of my family and friends. They really are an example of an great oil company. It truely is a pleasure doing business with them. read more
