To say I am flipping out right now is an understatement. Our business has been a customer of Yankee…read morePropane for over 10 years. With Mr. Keller at the helm it was a great company to work with. Since the Superior take over it has not been great - today the worst! Without any notice I just found out that they put our company on delivery hold! No notice - in the middle of the coldest weeks of this winter - they stopped delivering! Why - a total FU!!! They told me our invoice dated 1-12-2021 was not paid until 1-25-21 - 13 days - however we have and have always had 30 day payment terms. It turns out, when I checked my bank statement the 1-25 check they got was for a 12-28 delivery. Still within the 30 day terms. Again - after 10 years plus of NEVER missing a payment or being late. We are so extremely lucky that one of our employees came in today (normally we are closed on Saturdays) and discovered we had no heat. No phone call from Superior! No email from Superior! NOTHING!!! Definitely time to switch to natural gas! There is absolutely no excuse for this - even if our payment did come in slightly after the 30 day terms - which it did not! This should be against the law - actually it may be - time to contact our local senator!

Was a customer of theirs for years. Had a problem with my furnace and my husband called for…read moreservice. The wife of the owner answered the phone because of course they didn't have a professional business that answers for them and she literally screamed at him and told him how late it was. Then she continued to say that we had no real emergency considering it wasn't that cold outside.......later on in the week I paid my debt with them and never will ever go back. Their inability to be professional and reliable in their business and to customers was enough for me.......i hope it won't have to be enough for you. Byer beware

My tank has been broken the entire time I have lived here, the meter always reads zero no matter how much propane is in the tank. The servicemen has replaced the meter at least 5 times and it is still broken. He said the floater in the tank is broken and tha tank needs to be replaced, did they replace it?? Of course not. As a result I continously ran out of propane, not knowing how much was in my tank. I would pay in advance for a propane delivery and would be happy if they got it to me in a week. The usual turn around time was at least 2 weeks after I paid them. Our neighbor has been having similar problems with them. They sent a letter saying they are dropping us as customers because we frequently allow our tanks to run out of propane before ordering more (because thier tanks are broken!!). Thank goodness because they have terrible customer service. I can't wait to start with our new propane company and have a functioning tank!! I'm so excited to finally be free of Ellington oil!!

Stay far away from Suburban Propane. If you can pick, literally any other company, do it. They are…read moreunprofessional, difficult to work with, and have terrible service. Not only could it take two months for them to come out and set up your account (which happened to us), but it may also take 5 months before they close your account. I have called at least 7 times to tell them we have moved from our last location and that they need to close our account, and yet they continue to send us bills. I have spoken to Bernadette in the South Windsor office, along with at least 3 other employees, and NONE of them have done what they said they would do, which is close the account for the place we NO longer live at. Don't even bother calling after 5 PM either, because you just get a generic call center that can't do ANYTHING and just says they will "send a note" to the branch, which then seems to magically disappear into a black hole and never get to them. I have NEVER worked with a company that has such terrible communication and is SO inefficient. I have sent a certified letter to them as a last ditch effort to get this account closed before I figure out what else to do. DESPICABLE. I don't often write reviews, because I understand that sometimes there may be one incompetent employee, but unfortunately, the ENTIRE Suburban Propane company is incompetent. STAY AWAY.

BEWARE, DO NOT USE this company! In keeping with the below reviews from others, I have also tried…read moreworking with Bernadette and the manager, MIke. They have both even negligent, dishonest and also vengeful. They filled our tank in our new house before we purchased it, to the tune of $19. Then, when I called them, they threatened to pick up the tank if I did not immediately pay the $19. Mind you, we had just purchased the home the week before, along with the appriximately $350 worth of gas that was already in the tank. After the first distressing threat in that call, I directed them to speak with my husband..,which they did. He asked for an invoice for the $19 and for pricing and agreement to take over the tank lease. They did not send either - but they did send a truck to pick up the tank FULL of OUR gas! I turned the driver away, he asked me to talk to his boss on his cell phone (no mask, speaking into a strangers cell phone during quarantine!). I told Mike the issue, and that we had never received docs...Bernadette did not send them after initial two requests. Then, MIke failed to send them as well. However, they did manage to send ANOTHER truck to steal our 350 worth of gas! THREE DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS. Not only are they trespassing on my property again and again, their gross negligence and somewhat vindictive behavior is bizarre, unwarranted and borders on harassment. One more trespass and I am getting lawyered up, I am so done wi5 these thieves and incompetents. We know from our neighbors that they will not pay us for the gas in the tank, they will steal it by charging outlandish fees for tank pickup and offloading our (stolen) gas back into their tanks. At Christmas, no less. They suck. And, I mean you Bernadette and Mike.

This little convenient store is staffed with happy and out-going employees, my first visit was fun yes I said fun as strange as that sounds being this is a C-store where prices, efficiency and the quality of the product should be the determining factor to be a frequent visitor here. I am not from this area so I originally stopped in because my friend told me this was the best coffee bar around, any size hot or ice coffee is ninety ninety cents and it's totally free on Friday and that's a great perk, but it's the selection and freshness that hooked me along with the interaction with the staff. I never ready prepared my own iced coffee since I usually prefer mine hot although in the warmer months this is an option I frequently choose. Creating a great iced coffee is a process which I understand now but never appreciated and is probably one of the reasons I've never been a fan of it from a drive-through (it definitely requires some thought). The recipe for a perfect iced coffee in my opinion: Grab a large plastic cup - add granular sugar into the empty cup - add a few inches of hot coffee to completely melt the sugar I prefer the Rwanda blend to accomplish this - fill the cup with ice this will prevent the cup from melting - add fresh cream - fill the remaining space with more hot coffee I pick a second type for this, today it was a bold blend, stir to mix and chill, pop on the top and grab a straw... I do a lot of drive-throughs out of convenience and hope for a nice cup of coffee - this is a guaranteed way to ensure you get it your way for a fraction of the price and it also slows the world down for a few minutes. I'm learning we don't always need to be in such a hurry and this place helps instills that mind set...
