When we received the bill it had one line labeled "materials" for a couple hundred dollars. No itemization. When questioned about it we were told that's just the way they've always done it so we asked for a breakdown. We were told we would receive one, but we never received it. If you decide to have this crew do work, make sure they are as detailed with materials as they are with labor on their invoice. Without a doubt in my mind the materials portion on our invoice was significantly padded...a couple hundred dollars for what amounted to several feet of iron gas pipe and a cap, a couple feet of copper (we provided 90% of it) and one shutoff valve (we supplied the other five). Perhaps $50 in materials if sourced from a local jobber supply, but definitely not more than $200. There's a reason we never received the itemization...they knew they could never justify it.

We had had no problems with the heat. He said we needed a capacitor so we paid an extra $110. He left and didn't flip the switch to turn the furnace back on. We didn't realize it until the heat didn't come on this morning. I called at 6:30 AM and got a call back at 7:45 AM. The heat didn't come on after flipping the switch. The best they could do was to send the same guy out between 2:00 - 3:00. I heard nothing by 3:30 so I called the office. I was told a different Tech would be out, who had two customers IN FRONT OF US! I called back at 4:00 because I hadn't heard anything. I was told he should be here by 4:30. We then called at 5:00 and was told he was on his next to last call and he would be here when that was finished. Jimmy came and took care of the problem. Jose had not only left the switch off, but he didn't turn the gas back on. Overall, except for Jimmy, it was less than a great experience the last 30 hours. I would have expected to have a Tech here before 5:30 PM today.

march 28, 2026 -- buyer beware!!! alpine heat pumps does not stand behind the products they sell…read more 18 months after purchase, major components failure of the compressor and inverter pcb board. best they could do was, we could get out there in maybe 2 weeks, why don't you try calling.....maybe they can help. alpine's representative had the nerve after it was diagnosed by another company as a known c464 failure problem with samsung to say, "well every now and then you get a bad one, but the parts are covered!" 18 months and a major failure, and we're supposed to come up with another $1,500 to $2,000 for labor and freon. so, they don't service what they sell, moreover, don't stand behind the product they recommended. not to mention that as part of mass save had to have our furnace disconnected and we are stll without heat (april 7) in half the house...tonights low expected to be 25 degrees! going on a week and half of 50% heat, not expected to maybe be repaired on the 14th. they were responsive in taking my $28,000 for the system, and now they will not respond! poor customer service! they take your money and move on! shop elsewhere, and go with company that actually services what they sell and stands behind the products they sell. oh, and they no longer sell samsung....no suprise. only 1 star, because can't give zero.

I have their service plan, and for a reasonable price they come out and take care of the HVAC components on a regular basis. The technicians have always been straightforward with me, and I've had zero problems with everything except a whole-house humidifier, which needed to be replaced and re-routing of the drain hose, and they stuck with the problem until it was taken care of. They've always been responsive, and have a collection of great techs who are polite, respectful of property, and friendly. I would recommend them for sure.
