We out in a big order cause we had a hankering for some asada nachos. It was easy to place and pick up the order. They made sure it was all there. They still are charging people to use credit cards which isnt legal in CA as of June. The pic shows the chips were kind of burnt the meat tasted chewy as if reheated too much. I was really craving some Mexican food the other day and decided to try Vallarta Grill in Jackson. My go to is chicken flautas. Let me tell you, they knocked it out of the park! I can honestly say they are the best I've ever had. Generous portions , four good size flautas, perfectly fried, fresh toppings on the side per my request. Honestly, two of them filled me up. I wasn't able to take the other two home for dinner. They were absolutely delicious. I've had them three times already!! I highly recommend this restaurant. A Saturday & our first time visiting this great place. We seated ourselves quickly and menus, chips & bean dip were brought almost immediately. Within a short amount of time, our orders were taken and food was served without a long wait. Generous servings, our choices arrived hot and super delish! (we each tried a different soup) Along with excellent service, the owners are attentive, friendly and we felt very welcomed. I can't wait to go back! I felt transported to Puerto Vallarta with each sip and bite. Our server was a sweetheart. She greeted us, let us pick our own table and took special care of our party of three. The food was delicious! Absolutely scrumptious down to the last bite. The passion fruit margarita was terrific. I am already excited to come back. I had a fish taco and cheese enchilada. My mom had a shredded beef taco and cheese enchilada and my aunt had a cheese enchilada and rice. Everyone was happy with their lunch. I was so full, I didn't need dinner. It was $80 for three of us and we each got what we wanted and had an adult beverage to boot. Great service!!!! Was visiting friends that live in San Andreas. We drove up to Jackson for some shopping & decided to get lunch as well. We wanted Mexican & found this place on Yelp I believe. It's been a month since we had lunch & we didn't take pictures but wanted to add a review. 1. At the time we visited, they were still in the process of getting the liquor license. Hopefully, that has since been acquired. 2. They served a delicious bean dip along with tortilla chips once we were seated. The bean dip was AMAZING! But then we saw on the menu that any more chips & salsa after the first drop would be charged. That's a big issue to wrap your head around! We are at a sit down Mexican restaurant & then schooled by their menu that any further salsa, chips or bean dip would cost $3.00 + Huge turn-off at that point. Rest of meal: one person ordered the enchilada & taco combo and enjoyed the plate. I ordered the 2 crispy taco combo w/ ground beef. It was delicious & reminded me of the tacos my mom used to make. The third person ordered the fried taquito/taco plate. She thought it was quite tasty as well. Our only complaint here was the price for more chips & salsa while you enjoy a beer, If they can actually serve one, and wait for your entrees. It started the experience out on a bad foot. Like, "Oh welcome! Please enjoy a small basket of tortilla chips, a small dish of salsa & a small plate of refried beans with cheese." You will eat that up before you can put entree orders & want more. BUT- unlike most other sit down Mexican restaurants, they will shut you down at the first round unless you are willing to put down more $$$. That is a huge turn off!! As soon as I open my car door I see the waitress turn off the open sign. I open the door and ask if she just closed the restaurant. She said yes. We heard that this restaurant got new owners and that it was very good so my husband and I decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised! The staff is very friendly and attentive. The complimentary chips were fresh and warm, the best kind of chips! They brought salsa and beans with the chips, which we found out later, the beans were not complimentary and were added to the bill. Haha. I ordered the mixed fajitas and my husband ordered the beef enchilada and the tortilla soup. The quality of all the food was good, it was fresh, moist, cooked perfectly but it was lacking some flavor, we added salt to them to help the flavor. I really like the bean dip they start you off with. The seafood soup is expensive, but big enough for two and really quite good except for having too much squash and carrots in it which don't seem to belong. The burritos and margaritas are good. Let me start by saying my wife and I might have been famished but our experience last night for dinner was superb. The salsa was 12 out of 10 and the refried bean dip was a nice accompaniment! Her pollo fajitas had a delicious grilled citrus flavor, again superb. And my pollo chimichanga was great. I loved this place when it first opened. The owners are awesome and the original wait staff was super attentive and friendly. I've eaten here at least a dozen times. I've seen it steadily get worst. So bad to where the last time we went, the food was not good at all. Things poorly put together and lack of attention to detail. My birria tacos were over 50% fat. Also only meat and cheese. In the beginning the owner would do them up with cabbage, cilantro, multiple sauces, etc. the tortillas fell apart on the plate, beyond soggy. The beans got microwaved too long or something, half of them were crispy and stuck to the plate, inedible. It's a shame, used to love this place now wouldn't recommend.... read more

We went there for an early dinner on a Sunday and had a terrific dinner. When we arrived, ~5:00, there was only one other couple. When we left, I'd guess that there were 8 tables in use. My husband had a shrimp & scallop dinner, I had a combination plate that included a small skirt steak along with a small enchilada, quesadilla and other items. The dinner was quite good, the servings were generous, and I liked that, unlike some restaurants, the food was spread out on a giant platter so that you could taste the individual items. The chips & salsa were good -- and also come w/a small plate of refried beans & cheese to eat w/the chips. Oh! And the flour tortillas that were served w/our dinner were really good--I think they may have been cooked on site. The service was a bit slow -- but I felt that was more a matter of the kitchen getting a lot of orders in over a short period. The owner and the wait person were definitely working at taking and filling orders as they could. Having said that, the service was slow. The service was prompt and friendly. No complaints there. Chips, salsa and bean dip on the table as I sat down. The bean dip was very salty and cold, but was edible. The chips were average. Salsa was average. They do have a spicier salsa if you ask for it, but it's only a 5/10 hot. What I did like is that they had fresh fried jalapeños that you could order on the side. The hard taco shell seemed like it was something out of a box. I think a Taco Bell taco shell would have been fresher and more flavorful. It definitely was not homemade or fresh. The beans were average. The rice was average. All in all the food was edible but the taco trucks in town are far better. The food here was a tad too bland for my liking. The taco truck food has much more flavor. If you're looking for a quick bite with average food, this place is okay. Frankly the prompt service was the best part of the visit. Until the end. I was prepared to give this a three star review. However, I waited almost 20 minutes for a box and my bill. But not for the friendly service, this review would be a hard 0 star. read more

I'm first gonna say I'm sad about reading all the not so good reviews. Our food was awesome. First place in town I enjoyed that wasn't to salty or i didn't get sick from. As a chef food can be over salted, frozen and well also we know different styles of Mexican food.. some people will find a piece of garlic to spicy you simply do not eat it and don't leave a bad review for not liking it because its made different i understand Opening a business is a struggle and will take time to iron out things. Yes certainly some dishes can be made one way but the freedom of cooking in your own kitchen gives you that creativity. Now from my experience we had the best service from the time we got to our table and the food was just amazing. This will be my go to for Mexican a nice change. I'd say vegetarians and vegans stay away but even my meat eating boyfriend did not enjoy his food. The chips were not good. My meal was wrong twice/ they tried to reuse the food by wiping off the non-vegan bits. We didn't finish our side of guacamole (which is a first EVER). We were served food and left with no silverware. Very little meat in his chimichanga. No flavor. Just not good authentic Mexican. I had high expectations after hearing they had new owners but what we got was disappointing. My daughter ordered a cheese enchilada and the sauce was undoubtedly a cheap canned product and the cheese was not melted inside the enchilada. Let me just say that the new decorations in the place look really nice the lady that was serving us very attentive and did a great job. Where are the Molcajete it was good with the meat was literally Refrigerator cold. This is totally unacceptable for a restaurant not to cook meat that is so thinly sliced at the time of the order this was pulled out of refrigerator reheated. This is especially concerning whenever a Molcajete Is served in a hot Stone Bowl the comes out of the oven that's 500° and the meat is still cold to the touch not just called but refrigerator cold.
