I kept hearing about Rivera's Restaurant from people in the community where we just moved, so I thought I would check it out. This place is an authentic Mexican restaurant, unpretentious and spacious. The chips and salsa are just like the ones I ate while traveling around Mexico over the years. I ate one of the best taco salads I have had in a long time. It was packed full of flavors because it was not too spicy, but I was able to enrich the meal with the homemade chili salsa. The mix of Mexican music and excited football announcers from the tvs gave the place a festive, party atmoshere. So, it is not a quiet date place. The owner, Pedro, is a contientious, hard-working man who has made me feel truly welcomed to this community. I will be back often! read more

We cam here for breakfast on Christmas Eve which was conveniently open. The lay who helped us was nice. We ordered the breakfast burritos with bacon, a chicken enchilada with no sauce, waters and a coffee. Oh and a piece of pan dulce. The cost wasn't terrible. For the size of the burrito, it was about right. However the burrito mostly had egg. Some potato, and some meat, but mostly egg. The enchilada was fine, a little tough, but I imagine that was due to absent sauce. Do not order the coffee. It was more like warm water with milk and sugar. The one piece of pan dulce is $4.50. I understand they ost likely have to import their pan dulce, but where I am from where I can get four pieces of pan for $1.00, I was gently shocked. I was also charged incorrectly. I only got ONE piece of pan dulce, but was charged for two. I did not realize this mistake until after the fact. I will most likely be returning to try lunch and dinner selections. But what I had today, I will not be reordering. read more

Wow!!! Yes, we did have to wait some time to place our to go order as there was limited seating. But, as we waited for our order, a table for 4 opened up. A nice couple of woman shared their table with us. We did get our meal, but we had to adjust our plans. My menu item has been saved for later. We shared my wife's taco salad and it was amazing in flavor and portion, and yes, we did fill up on too many chips and drinks. Great time, great food, great people. I ordered Chili Relenos since it's a favorite dish of mine. The cheese inside the one chili I got was not normal Mexican cheese usually found in this dish. The chili was served and the cheese was not melted as it should be for this dish. One of the owners (I think) told me that she liked the dish with that cheese in it. My advice to the owner is use the right cheese. $16 + for one chili with un-melted cheese doesn't cut it for me. I was with 3 other people. The Tacos were ok. read more

I decided to stop by Rivera's Taqueria today on my way home from the grocery store to grab a quick bite. Upon entering no one greeted me in a friendly manner which is odd seeing as how this is a brand new business. There was no one seated and 2 people picking up. I don't know how many people they have in the back cooking but there is no way 2 tacos to go should take 35 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. I had icecream melting in the car and asked them to just Cancel my order but they assured it would only be 3 more minutes . Only problem was, I had already been standing there waiting for over 30. Had I known a small order like 2 tacos was going to take that long I would've definitely skipped it. You pay first so You are kind of held hostage until your food is done. We went to check out the place for their grand opening and it was so busy, but that didn't get in the way of the quality of the food. I got the Carne Asada fries with everything , red and green salsa on the side & they were so good ! The fries were cooked to perfection, the meat was warm and seasoned, and the salsas brought the meal together! My husband got a super quesadilla de asada (didn't take a pic of that) with everything and it was delicious as well. The cheese was melted all the way and the tortilla had a nice crisp to it. He got the sour cream and guacamole salsa on the side to dip it in. The place is really nice & clean. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I love this place. It was so busy when I wentand that was very cool. It's nice to have another place to eat at and to enjoy very great authentic Mexican food. Here's all the good first. The have pan dulce or sweet bread. A ton of Mexican style treats, drinks and veggies. They have a carnecería where you can order seasoned meat to cook. They have a restaurant set apart from their grocery area and carnecería. They are open a long time which is awesome. I did not have a chance to check the bathroom so I can not comment on that. The staff was super friendly and spoke Spanish and English fluently. Here's the bad. It's a small business and they are using the space as best as possible. So entering to eat or going to get meat you have to pass through the line of people checking out with their groceries. The sweet bread goes fast so get there early. There is only one register. All I can say is FINALLYYYY!!! I'm so happy end beyond excited to finally have a carnicería in town! They have everything we don't find at our local stores. My family and I went there a few hours ago. Wow it was awesome. And this place was hopping. Between in house orders and to go, they were keeping up with all of it. The food was hot and delicious. Between the three of us, we tried chili rellanos, street tacos with carne asada, chicken sopitas , flautas , and chicken enchiladas to go. Everyone enjoyed their food. No complaints here. Just wish more people would post their opinions because as busy as this was and the way everyone else's food looked I'm sure everyone else feels felt the same way we did.
